We got some news thats probs just exciting to #canineepilepsy humans, but Joan's been seizure free for a year (again) & with her latest KBr levels coming back high, we're going to REDUCE her dosage from 1125mg to 750mg.😱 I promise you, this is riviting news over here. As Joan ages, my hope is to be able to lower the amount of medication she's been on since 2yo. Its been 9+ years of medication for this Derpina (amongst other ailments).😅 Anyways, l'm asking for ✨good vibes✨ for Miss Joan O'Brien that we continue to have a good ~seizure free~ year. Flea Collars...?!  DON’T DO IT TO YOUR PET

A dog’s nose has millions of smell sensors - with abilities far more comprehensive than we are capable of or understand. It is a highly tuned sensitive tool which enables dogs to react to the world around them. And it’s so amazing, we humans can use it to sniff out drugs, cancers, epilespy and many other things.  So why would we ignore that and put a collar laced with chemicals and smells around their necks which they can’t escape from? Do you like chemical smells? I doubt it unless you’re strange.  Would you like that chemical smell pervading you day and night?

Do you like the smell of dog poop - well they do.  It gives them a lot of messages we have no clue about.  We have very differing smell appeals. We love our dogs so why would we even consider putting something around their necks close to their skin for weeks on end, covered in toxic poison. Regardless of the smell,  If children touch the collar - they are contaminated and we would be too. It kills pests. Enough said.  If you’re worried about fleas and ticks use a recognised brand of pipette on the back of the neck relevant to your dog’s weight and size. Their liver can handle it better and it does the job.  Put a flea collar on - and you risk epilepsy as the result when your dogs senses go into overload...the vets will make money - and you’ll be unwittingly doing something cruel and unkind to your pet.  DON’T DO IT!

Mama B Here! We've had some rainy sicky days in bed here the past few weeks. Me & Gram have figured that a lot of Moose's seizures are happening when there is a rapid change in the atmospheric pressure. Hes had a handful of small episodes over the past couple weeks. With the rapid weather change also brought about Tank & Charlies allergies. Sneezing, runny noses, reverse sneezing & lots of sleeping have been happening in our house. They are helping share his story so we can find him a home. . Spartacus is a 7 year old Cane Corso with epilepsy. The shelter is no place for a special-needs senior. In October 2016, Spartacus was adopted from the shelter by a huge-hearted woman who originally rescued another giant dog from the shelter when he was suffering from cancer. Spartacus flourished in what was to be his forever home. Unfortunately, last month tragedy struck and Spartacus' mom fell extremely and suddenly ill so he has found himself back at the shelter. . ▫️ Spartacus is a 7 year pure bred cane corso who loves his people ▫️ He requires medication and TLC for epilepsy. He does well on his medication ▫️ He needs a fenced yard and MUST be the ONLY pet in the home. He is reactive with other dogs. ▫️ Due to his size (100 lbs) and epilepsy, he needs an age 13+ home ▫️A meet and greet is REQUIRED at the shelter. ▫️ If you can foster you must be LOCAL to the shelter for medical care .
