Godly Warriors - Canid Capture pt. 5
AN: not much to say but here we are :D
First Part - Previous - Next - Intro/Master Post
CWs: mentions of bloodloss, mentions of death, stab wound (the one from before)
Lepid POV
----
"Nothing to report yet." Cole sighed, sitting down and burying her head in her hands, "I don't know what to do. I don't know how to get out of this. If we don't see them it means we aren't looking in the right places."
I paced, "There's always a chance they had to stop. We don't know all of the details of that battle."
Cole snapped up, her eyes boring a hole into my forced calm, "It was a massacre Lepi. You saw it. "
The truth stung. I could remember the screams, the feeling of dried blood fresh on my mind. I cringed, freeing myself from my sister's accusatory stare. I knew she continued to look but I couldn't meet his eyes, those eyes, always full of the blunt truth.
"We'll get through it. We always have. I just... need time to think." I mutter the last words, glancing back to Cole momentarily before returning to the map I had been pouring over.
He stands and walks over, "Lepi we need to call for help."
I start fidgeting with my wings, "I know. We can't afford another loss." the texture of my scales brought me a level of comfort.
"I know you don't like her much but we can ask Raphid." Cole stands beside me, staring me down, "Lepi we-"
A shout stops him dead in his tracks as we both turn to see Mallow. Our lead medic and most trusted soldier, her face pale and panicked as she burst into the tent, "Lepid sir-" she faultered, saluting to Cole quickly before continuing, "the girl is awake. She's-"
I rush past her, my heart pounding in my ears. Canid's mere presence is enough to make me fear for my safety, knowing how the goddess Mammalia is. There's far too many tales of warning for me to not have some level of trepidation. One of those tales I witnessed first hand, the wolven warriors striking fear into me to the point of irrationality.
Cole sprints after me, "We're not done!"
"She might have injured herself. She also-" I'm cut off by shouting from the medical tent.
I burst inside, Cole at my heels. He almost ran into me when I paused, taking in the situation.
A few of my medics were crowding the bed, all evidently trying to keep her from moving. One looked to me and backed away quickly at the sight of my expression.
"Step away." I demanded, seeing the subject of my worry as they break ranks.
Canid was curled up, eyes dilated heavily. She had her ears pinned back, only emphasizing the fear in her figure. She had a set of scissors held in one hand, poised as a threat to anybody who got too close.
"Canid."
Her eyes tracing over my wings, my chest, and eventually my face, at which her gaze softened. Her breathing slowed slightly, the tension in her frame releasing as she stopped straining her bad leg.
I held out my hand. "Put down the scissors." I instructed firmly, my tone still calm.
She glanced up at me before passing me the blade. Her voice quivered as she spoke, "Sorry. I..."
"It's okay." I place the scissors on the bed behind me, "did you reopen your stitches?"
She glanced behind me to where I knew Cole to be, but quickly looked back down at her leg, "I don't think so."
"Good." I paused, unsure whether I should ask my next question, "Do you... Do you think you're in a state to talk about the poachers right now?"
She hesitated, her hand running through her tail fur, "Uhm. I.. I actully have some information on that."
"What?" Cole practically demanded of her, hand floating to where her dagger usually sat.
Flinching at the motion, she quickly blurted out, "Mammalia talks to me in my sleep."
It was my turn to be confused, "What?"
"You guys don't talk with Insecta?"
"No??"

Thick as Thieves
"Have you seen this human?" Asked the canid officer to the whole crowd, the dyed red ear confirming that the canid was in it for the long haul.
A fanatic to the GC.
The small data slate the canid held in his hand that he held in the air for all to see was projecting a small picture a few inches above it. It showed a human in full detail, slowly rotating. The entire bar had gone quiet the moment the Galactic Community officer and his retinue had appeared in the doorway. All eyes on them until they had declared their business.
The canid was a zealot, which meant his team would be to. Zealots and norms don't mix. One finds the other either too much, or not enough. The ursidain all but blocked the door meaning even if a fight broke out, there would be no reinforcements from beyond the single room unless the GC team wanted them.
As it turned out, the GC team's business was bounty hunting.
"We have a substantial reward for the whereabouts, or credible information that leads to the whereabouts of the human known as 'Bruno' or any human that has interacted with him."
The hyenid on the opposite side of the bar merely took another long draught of their golden amber as the creature spoke, blinking slowly and unimpressed. It wasn't their problem, and they had no love for the GC nor the canid currently appealing to the patrons' wallets.
"He is wanted for questioning for the destruction of an entire species' development, along with assisting an armed assault and capture of a GC S-a-R vessel. The people on board were not soldiers, they were doctors. Rescue workers." The canid continued, slowly stalking deeper into the dive, seemingly not satisfied that the occupants had seen the hologram, nor heard the story.
In truth, the hyenid hadn't. They'd heard of the infamous 'Bruno', of course, but the version of the story they'd heard was not from a GC mouthpiece and was substantially different. The fiks didn't tell the story often, to the point where most almost outright claimed that 'Bruno', their prophet, didn't even exist.
"He's also wanted for a slew of other crimes including sexual interactions with a non-sentient creature. Conspiracy to distribute peanut bu-"
"Saah! Lies!" Cried a fik from a dark corner, the large creature jumping up onto its table and resting a clawed foot against the back rest of the neighbouring booth. In its hands were a chipped, but still dangerous looking sword and a curved axe, a wicked spike cut into the blade at the bottom. The sword would engage a target before the axe would be swung in a long arc until the spike was behind the target. The fik would then yank their arm back, puncturing any standard issue armour with the sharpened point.
The hyenid grinned as a point in their side twinged in memory. Fiks. Cheeky fuckers the lot of them. They took another slurp of their drink.
"Do you have something to say? Fik?" Demanded the officer, whilst the fik's tail was grabbed and pulled by its brethren who were sat at the same table.
"Saaah... Bruno has not... had interactions with animals!"
"His own admission on his rescue confirmed that he bedded several fiks before they were uplifted." The officer's snout curled back as he narrowed his eyes. "Your kind still aren't part of the GC. You're basically animals still..." Baited the officer.
"No one 'er's seen ya' stupid 'ooman. Fuck off." Called the hyenid over the rim of her drink before the fik could say or do something they'd regret. The canid's head turned their way and he lost interest in the fik now that they were less likely to give him reason to take action.
"The experiment speaks."
"Say's the paw licker."
The officer snarled again and marched up to the corner of the bar, just on the other side of the hyenid. He was mere inches away from where they sat on a stool. Wisely, he kept the bar between himself and them. For all he knew, they had a holdout weapon. Something short and stubby. Something loud. Something that could break a wrist if fired one hand, but preferable to nothing in a fight.
The canid dropped his voice into a low, gravelly rumble.
"No surprise your kind are now slumming it with these things, you fucking experiment." The canid sneered. The hyenid merely sighed into the now mostly empty stein. They hated dregs and wanted another, but the barman had disappeared and would likely remain gone until the threat of a fight was over.
"Tha's fuckin' rich." They belched loudly, directly into the face of the officer before tightening their lips and ensuring every speck of dead space was breathed out into the officer face. "Comin' from ya'. GC ain't welcom' 'er. The only thin' ya' gonna' get 'er is mocked."
The canid held her gaze, his eyes burning with barely contained rage. But he was GC. He had rules. His precious devotion to them had him follow those rules until otherwise. As a sanctioned bounty hunter, he had more freedom than most; but not enough to warranty attacking a bar full of people who hadn't actually touched him.
Crescent Station would throw the GC off of it if they got wind of a GC officer abusing his rights.
It was why the place was so popular with the folk who lived on the very edges of the GC's over extended reach.
The canid licked his chops and huffed before turning away and stalking back out, but not before he threw one last jab over his shoulder.
"Put clothes on you animal."
The hyenid glanced down at their naked torso and pulled a face, more confused than anything else. If they were a uniformed GC agent, fine, clothes come with the job, but they weren't?
Once the officer had disappeared, the hyenid waited before leaning back, away from the bar and addressed the space between their knees.
"Ya' okay?" They asked.
"Yeah thanks! That was intense!" Said the human that was the spitting image of the wanted hologram. Except he'd gained a tattoo on his neck and a ring pericing on his eyebrow.
"Nah, tha' wan' intense. Tha' were a prick." The hyenid sniffed as the fik clan broke from.the corner and went to see where the officer had gone.
"Do you want your top back?" Asked Bruno.
"Nah, he'll smell ya' before ya' get back to ya' ship. Keep it on n' keep ya' 'ead down." The hyenid explained, shuffling backward so the tiny human could get out.
"Was that the only reason he didn't find me?"
"Yeah, look, ya' mates are callin' ya'. See ya' later."
The human gave a soft smile and a short wave before running the length of the bar and being swept into the long coat of one of the fiks, disappearing from view.
The hyenids had found staunch allies with the fiks, and with the GC breathing down both of their collective necks, anything a hyenid could do to piss them off was a pleasure to do.

I love how the two Zoroarks are portrayed. Like:
Unovan Zoroark, while able to cause horrifying hallucinations to whoever dares to capture it.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/f75b319f18584a22c57dddf31b97dfcb/37c5bbd6cbeff91d-e7/s540x810/77ade396797a099cd5b23e7271d0b59925faa6ed.jpg)

it’s also stated to be a quite a social pokemon and forms long lasting bonds with others of it’s kind similarly to canids, whales and even hyenas.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/0ec06e0094625d8ebff6d22c925851eb/37c5bbd6cbeff91d-00/s540x810/5a1a1121172bebe0169180013cdaf23ae782aa5e.jpg)
I mean hell! There was an entire movie dedicated to a mother Zoroark wanting her Zorua back.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/62b81772e49d8a5306332760354c904b/37c5bbd6cbeff91d-c1/s540x810/f6ba9679a9e73c625c83b56a021aeb799891589a.jpg)
But HISUIAN ZOROARK?!
It’s stated to bot actually be its own species but rather Zoroarks and Zorua who died and came back hateful and full of spite.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/6966097e88347b7fc0b4e4e5a283956d/37c5bbd6cbeff91d-df/s540x810/e8de4462a1ba13ec3b35e99259033fd16e61dc8d.jpg)
And sure as hell looks like a hateful corpse with what seems to be exposed muscle bulging out of its pale, dead skin.
And this thing lives what is a frozen hellscape that would look good in a horror movie setting like in the thing.
HELL in the Hisuian snow anime, ONE of them shown taking out an ALPHA GARCHOMP. Who, remind you, took on two Pokémon it was weak to.

I’m honestly half convinced that Hisuian Zoroark might as well be death from the Last Wish movie.

a Question about you 12 kwamis au
If the others kwamis existed how would you write it?
That's rather tricky to answer cos for several of them I actually took their powers and fused them with another Kwami.
Tiger has her own powers & those of the monkey, Turtle got Bulls, the pigs got translated to Fox, even the rabbits could be said to have blended with Sass given I usually give them a subtle prophetic ability.
If we just go with the one's left over...
Rooster - Sublimation & Phasing, is the easiest to work with as it is the transition of a substance directly from the solid to the gas state. In this regard, its basically a form of transforming Miraculous, letting one become immaterial, an elemental or chemical gas, that kind of thing. It also still works with the red bird associations ala phoenixes without much work.
Canid - Hunt & Harvest, I think would need a revamp into something more akin to Hunt. IE, its the embodiment of tracking, hunting, capturing, the act of pursuit and retrieval alive or dead. Fetch is a way it can manifest, ensuring their prey is never out of reach, but it can also be used to locate and track down things without having touched them first, & so on. Tis goes beyond mere hunting dogs and into how ants have cultivated livestock and even slave ants.
Lamb - Genesis & Preservation is the power of giving and extending life, it is of the (Caveasphaera), IE, Animal era and holds the power to breath life into something or to heal. In essence, it is the "Breath of life" and healing hands, it cannot whisk life up out of nowhere, but more can create the perfect conditions for new life, imbue something with life, or heal something. The specifics are a little ill defined right now but I think this works.
Amusingly this means Lamb could be the second Miraculous Gabriel has, the one that they used to conceive Adrien but due to being broken that didn't pan out. (Makes notes) Damn, I may actually keep this revised list, Roosters now the weakest one but still has room to work even with my revized Renlings...
Here it is regardless:
Creation (Planck) Ladybug - Creation & Purification Cat - Destruction & Mutation Snake - Ouroboros & Time
Elemental (Matter) Rooster - Sublimation & Phasing Tiger - Combustion & Chaos Dragon - Storm & Power
Life (Abiogenesis) Peacock - Evocation & Transmutation Mouse - Multiplication & Duplication Turtle - Protection & Resilience
Animal (Caveasphaera) Lamb - Genesis & Preservation Horse - Action & Migration Canid - Hunt & Harvest
People (Conceptual) Bee - Order & Subjugation Fox - Mirage & Materialization Butterfly - Emotion & Transmission
Revised Bee, this is mostly just leaning on the concept of subjugation more. IE, Pollen represents people and thinking creatures idea of order more than she does elemental the stabilizing of neurons and atoms. Venom is simply the most straightforward example, utterly stilling a persons body. But at more advanced levels, the user can infuse their power into objects and guide them or compel people, so long as they use subjugation.
Notes:
Genesis was a problem because its basically just Lucky Charm with more control but less magic. Genesis means the origin point of a something, the beginning or creation, which doesn't leave a lot of wiggle room for reinterpretation or expansion. In some ways it'd fit with the theme I gave to mouse. Still, I like these other two so lets play.
I had the idea briefly to make Genesis a sort of scrying mechanic, seeing into the past and future (Vaguely), or to get meta with it and have it be among the fox and butterfly as to do with stories, giving one's words power. However, elements I have toyed with for the Bee can already fit into some of that so I was... Iffy.
Then I looked into lamb associations and themes and found out the Egyptian Deity known for incepting life was a lamb headed deity, and the creator of 'essence'. I leaned on that when reaching for preservation.
#ML#MLB#miraculous ladybug#Ask#Text post#World Building#This also means Adrien is a lamb of a god ;)

Hi!! i was wondering if you could give me some pronouns based off of Maned wolves, and maybe some funfacts
-anonF-
Fun facts:
1. The maned wolf is the largest canid of South America. It looks more like a long-legged fox than a wolf. Genetic studies show that it is neither fox nor true wolf, but a distinct species. It is the only member of its genus, Chrysocyon.
2. The maned wolf stands about 3 feet (90 centimeters) tall at the shoulder and weighs about 50 pounds (23 kilograms).
3. Maned wolves range through central and eastern South America including northern Argentina, South and Central Brazil, Paraguay, Bolivia and southern Peru. They inhabit the cerrado, the largest biome of South America, which is composed of wet and dry forests, grasslands, savannas, marshes and wetlands.
4. Maned wolves mark their territory with powerful-smelling urine and feces on hillocks and termite mounds along their borders. They do not howl, but instead emit loud barks or roar barks to let their mate know where they are, and to warn other wolves to stay away.
5. Maned wolves are omnivorous eaters and primarily solitary hunters. They eat seasonally abundant fruits and vegetables and are particularly interested in lobeira, whose name means "fruit of the wolf." It is a small tomato-like berry that, along with other fruits and vegetables, makes up 50 percent of the maned wolf's diet.
6. They eat small mammals such as rodents, rabbits and insects. Maned wolves rotate their large ears to listen for prey animals in the grass. They tap the ground with a front foot to flush out the prey and pounce to catch it, or they may dig after burrowing prey. They may also leap into the air to capture birds and insects. Long legs help them move through and see above tall grasses.
7. Maned Wolves are crepuscular to nocturnal.
8. Maned wolves exhibit monogamous pairings, with breeding pairs defending a territory averaging 27 km2 (17 mi2.). Despite the concerted defense of territory, male and female wolves typically only associate closely during breeding season.
9. In a zoological setting, male maned wolves have been observed regurgitating food for their young. This may indicate that the male plays a significant role in the care of young in the natural environment.
10. The maned wolf can live up to 12 years in the wild, and as much as 15 years in a controlled setting.
11. The Maned Wolf belongs to the Mammalia class with the scientific name Chyrsocyon brachyurus. Chyrsocyon means golden dog.
12. Male and female Maned wolves have no distinct names. Generally, the male is called a dog, and the female is called a bitch.
13. The Maned wolf babies are referred to as pups, just like their canine counterparts. Scientists have evidence that the adult female produces about two pups at once. These pups reach sexual maturity after at least two years of age.
14. This shy animal is harmless for the most part, flees when alarmed, keeps its distance from people, and rarely attacks only when it feels threatened. From a few documented pieces of evidence, it is concluded that the majority of Maned wolves do not pose any threat to our safety. Other unprovoked attacks by wildlife Maned wolves happened because of Maned wolves' fearlessness due to habituation.

WIZARD REVIEW: THE ICE KING
Welcome to Morgana's Wizard Review, where I analyze fictional characters of the wizardly, sorcerous, witchy and magic nature and see how hard they fuck. Today our canidate will be that frost moanrch of the Ooo, Simon Petrivok AKA the Ice King, evil thwarter of finna nd jake, pricness stealer and a lainpilled babygirl.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/a01c543964d51ba42815604f2d6527b3/43f1acb8c26ce28f-a1/s540x810/73ff73ad8cde0786aef8b55aba801e61b0607fb2.webp)
WISDOM
The Ice King is often shown as scatter-brained and his plans are often not well-thought out, he captures princesses that do not even like him to sate his loneliness. Despite this he does have rare insightful moments and later in the series begins to understand his role in things.
2/5
INTELLIGENCE
The Ice King is somewhat of a "man-child" at a glance, despite his mild helplessness in some situations, he has been shown to be talented on the drums with implications he knows how to play multiple instruments. Despite his sick ass golden hat causing him to lose many memories, he has still acquired some magical artifacts such as the demonic wishing eye and ghost pouch. In addition to this he is a scholar of fridjitzu, branching out from his seemingly innate magical prowess.
3/5
ZENITH
We see the ice king at the height of his power very early on in the series, his arc is not about an ascension in power but one of vulnerability. The crown is shown to keep his body from deteriorating in old age and could even be considered strong physically as well as magically in certain scenarios. He only seems to get weaker in the form of being metaphorically de-fanged, the only true strike to his power being digestion from a literal god.
5/5
ARCANA
Ice King is what we call a Specialist, a tried and true cryomancer, and he is very potent in this art, having the ability to extend his senses throughout his realm and even influencing the animals that dwell in ice and snow. It seems this icy expertise extends to other frozen arts that he has picked up as well such as the aforementioned fridjitzu. Though he has a focus on ice magic, he is no one-trick pony, and seems to have a knack for charms and illusions as well as the ability to detect spirits using his "Wizard Eyes". It is also shown that he has immunity to extreme heat conditions and hypnosis. So in spite of his hard lean toward ice and snow, his tertiary spells and abilities are quite powerful rather than being a typical mage's sidearm or obscure tool.
4/5
RECLUSIVENESS
Ice King is a classic wizardly recluse, he has such trouble in romance he needs to kidnap girls to even talk to them, and his closest friends he met because they were beating him up for said kidnapping. He is often surrounded only by minions that do not speak the same language as him and he lives in a tall, far-away mountain, a natural wizard's tower. Despite this start he does begin to warm up to people, only to return to his reclusive ways once he is completely free of the crown's magic. In spite of his isolation and reputation, he is not sagely or hermetic, he is not this way by choice but simply an evil fucking loser, and we respect him for that. It seems not only his magic is innate.
3.5/5
Dignity
This is one quality Ice King lacks, he is not airbrushed-on-the-side-of-a-van material. His coolest and most confident is in the opening of the show. Despite how cool and powerful his crown is it sometimes looks like a paper crown a child might make from construction paper, and his baggy tunic and garish and plain. His plots often require him to stoop to schoolyard trickery and forced marriage not for political reasons, but out of simple loneliness, the ice king lacks grandeur, he wears bandaids on his penis wenis. He is only cool because hes an epic wizard that plays the drums.
1.5/5
And the total score for the Ice King this wizard review is...
3.16/5
The Ice King is an alright wizard, his magic is strong and he is a potent and authoritative figure, but he is the pure definition of "it gets lonely at the top", this man's conquests are unsuccessful if they do not involve prostrating himself, reconciling, atoning. Being a powerful mage is somehow at odds with him being a fulfilled individual. He is at the limits of his power when we first see him, his only room to grow is to embrace being a lame ass old man, the antithesis of the lich (as in the occupation, I do not know what comparison I can make to the titular necromantic archmage of Ooo who usurps Simon as the baddest mana-slinging motherfucker in all the realm) who seeks to become sick as fuck and avoid being old at all costs. I honor this pursuit and am glad to see him happy eating oatmeal in his shitty house, but alas in wizarddom he allows himself to be easily outclassed to gain this inner peace.
Did you enjoy this episode of MORGANA'S WIZARD REVIEW?? Give it a nice comment or like, and maybe send me an ask for a request to review one of your favorite wizards (or witches or mages or sorcerers or warlocks or spellblades or whathaveyou) other characters I plan on covering in future episodes include;
Patchouli Knowledge from the Touhou Project series
Jafar from Kingdom Hearts and the Disney TV Programme "Aladin"
Gandalf the Grey and Gandalf the White
Gerald of Rivia from the Witcher VideoGame-Book-Netflixs
Flemmeth that milf from the dragon ages

African Painted Dog, Lycaon pictus.
The name of this predator has been undergoing changes, almost since the beginning. Traditionally 'African wild dog', the wild part was ignored for many years, thought by locals to be feral dogs. Lycaon pictus is the only surviving member of its genus, and departed from other canids over a million years ago.
Painted Dog, Cape Hunting Dog come closer to its wild nature. Painted Wolf truly captures its essence as a supreme hunter of the wild, though some experts balk at the 'wolf' label.
Now critically endangered, the Painted Wolf is under threat after decades of persecution, snaring, and poisoning. A vacation lodge owner in the Waterberg recently poisoned six of the Waterberg Painted Dog pack after their hunt included an antelope on their property. Advocating for the extermination of all predators and most wild animals is still a popular view among farmers and landowners.

Books I plan on writing but I Bet I Am Gonna Be Shitty At It™:
For monsterfuckers or monster romance enthusiasts:
-A STORY ABOUT A HUMAN DIPLOMAT in a world where humans and vampires aren't at war anymore, but humans Fucked Up™ so they almost went to war again. However the vampires have decided to simply only allow human diplomats to communicate with them through special mirrors and keep their territories separate. The tradition is broken due to a human diplomat rescuing the child of a vampire sovereign who had rebelliously challenged his parent's authority by visiting human territories... Without however remembering that vampires built their Empire underground and in cave systems for a reason, the reason being their high sensitivity to sunlight. Lucky for him the future diplomat saves him...
Vampires here are similar to bats, but are humanoid and are "Homo noctus". They do not strictly drink blood, but they are carnivorous. They absolutely cannot digest vegetables. They are not allergic to garlic, garlic was the symbol of a group of humans who fought for freedom from a realm of vampires that had conquered a lot of other vampire realms and pushed them to consume the blood of humans as a terror tactic and a form of taxation. This happened after humans stole a sacred cross, which symbolizes the moon falling unto the surface of the Earth "left right and center, permeating all" for the vampires. As a result the extremist groups of blood-sucking vampires, who had been waiting for a reason to justify their uprising, after the longest period of peace between the two species, decided to lead vampires to what they thought was "destined supremacy". They were defeated and vampires momentarily subjugated, the vampires rebelled, the two species decided to coexist to avoid destroying their planet, yadda yadda... There is a lot more stuff that I am not going to expose here. There will be fantasy creatures aside from vampires as well. Werewolves are a type of vampire more closely related to canids than other vampires. The vampires ride giant spiders, scorpions and centipedes. Dhampirs exist and are born through pregnancy HEAVILY AIDED by magic. I will have fun creating this universe but I plan on writing the book "diary style" and on inserting romance, and I think I will NOT get good results writing either.
Fantasy creatures being cared for
- ANOTHER DIARY, BELONGING TO A PERSON WHO DOES REHAB FOR DRAGONS captured and hurt by poachers and hunters in a world where people aren't so keen on the idea of caring for these beasts... Even though they keep at bay other predators, such as their smaller cousins the wyverns, that are much more likely to eat humans than a dragon is, since humans are too small a meal for a dragon. There are talks about preserving other dangerous mythical creatures, due to the important of preventing an imbalance in the ecosystems both local and global.
-CREATURE POV OF A "CONUNDRUM", a creature made by humans through machinery and artificial intelligence closely mimicking that of a human and highly intelligent species of animals. Conundrum are created to act as entertainment for humans in circus enstablishments and in special enclosures after the great majority of mammals, reptiles and birds have become extinct. Each conundrum however has much deeper intelligence than the one humans think they have.
The tale focuses on a Conundrum created by a "master-maker", thrown away due to being considered defective, repurposed by a rich inventor turned loser by a "mistake" in his lab that led to the death of a few people. The inventor gives it to his daughter in order to keep her company while he works to try and sell old-fashioned trinkets. It is later discovered that the inventor had wanted to bring animals back to life after succeeding to recreate the DNA of a tiger. It is also found out that corporations that control the manufacturing of Conundrum machinery pay governments to keep silent in regards to the fact that there are actually a lot of DNA recovered for a lot of species, and that different ones could be created as well: but the corporations want to keep selling their product. There are even specimens of the supposedly extinct animals alive, but they are hidden, and used by the corporations to model the Conundrum's personalities. The inventor is killed because he wants to use the evidence gathered to cause an upheaval, after managing to smuggle a flesh animal. The murder of the scientist is turned into a tale of suicide due to lost fame. The inventor has, however, unbeknownst to all, and knowing that he would probably be murdered after realizing that the person who had sold him the animal would betray him, put the information in his daughter's Conundrum friend. The story does not end here... I do not want to spoil everything though, this is just the tip of the Iceberg.
-CREATURE POV INTO THE MIND OF A GRIFFIN WHO IS THE MOUNT OF A SOLDIER. Griffin here are like wyverns: they don't have front legs. The wings are their front legs, in the sense that they are part of the front legs, which have two fingers sticking out with very big claws to latch onto surfaces. Think archeopteryx but Eagle™
-CREATURE POV OF A CERBERUS HOUND FINALLY RETIRING AFTER BEING USED IN DOG FIGHTS
Fantasy setting
-NECROMANCY IS GOOD, ACTUALLY, AND IT CAN BE USED AS MEDICINAL ART AS WELL AS PROTECTION FOR YOUR ALLIES. This tale is about necromancer nurses and warriors, who provide assistance for their companions whether they are on the front line or at the back. Necromancers and Paladins are both given the same tier of respect.
The enemy the world at large is facing is the revenge of a wounded thousand-years old alien. The creature didn't use to come from the planet but it has now set root in it. It has been its inhabitant for a long time, and the environment has been used to its presence for thousands of years. But when a sect of wizards sets out to uproot the creature in order to study its composition up close and halt its unstoppable, but all things considered, harmless spread, the creature gets inevitable hurt... And, understandably so, acts out, turning from a silent web of fungi to a truly aggressive army of spores. At the end of the books, the creature is isolated from the rest of the world with a protective spell so that it may advance without being hurt ever again. The real reason why the wizards wanted to uproot the creature was because it was accidentally found out that it's vital fluids could grant immortal life and visions of the future.
-EIGHT BIG SNAKES GOT CORRUPTED WHILE TRYING TO PROTECT THE WORLD FROM THE MISTAKE OF A MAGE. Their offspring suffered, and now people bearing the mark of the once great defenders of the land are not faring well, to say the least...
-AN ARCHEOLOGIST IS TASKED WITH TRYING TO FIND OUT THE SECRETS HIDDEN in what his colleagues keep saying will certainly be revealed to be the ruins of a civilization believed to have been a hoax for generations... Even though the rest of the community keeps dismissing them on the matter. The truth is that the conspiracy theorists are right, but humankind will never be able to know. It should NOT be able to know. The protagonist is supposed to keep it that way.
-A FORMER PIT FIGHTER WHO'S LOST THEIR FAME AND GLORY is hired as bodyguard for a very low price and after a lot of convincing (since said former champion wanted to drink triple their weight in alcohol and end up in a basket) by a bartender who wants to abandon their academic career, which they were pressured into by their parents, after said parents finally died. Neither of them get what they want, but they will get what they need. There is romance and found family. It is slice of life, mostly, with some drama, and a fantasy-steampunk ambience. There are humanoid species that aren't Homo sapiens but I haven't decided which ones to put.
-URBAN FANTASY WHERE HUMANS... AREN'T HUMAN AT ALL. None of them are. Actual humans have been eliminated by them a long time before the moment in which the story sets. The neo humans do not know this. It was the only thing the last first human were able to achieve with their powers, a form of vengeance.
The novel or novels are based on a few humans, part of a union of other humans fighting against monsters... While knowing that they are monsters themselves. The monsters believe that the humans that aren't monstrous are authentic humans and those that turn into monsters weren't human in the first place. Kinda complicated, I know, but if you guys read it again maybe you will understand it. If not, sorry.
-THE SAME UNIVERSE AS THE NECROMANCER NOVEL, THIS TIME WE FOCUS ON THE JOB OF A HYPNO-MAGE tasked with making someone forget or otherwise "handle better" memories of the war. Not all things need to be remembered. There is romance, non conventional one though.
-RACERS WHOSE RIDES ARE RAPTORS AND VARIOUS DINOSAURS. No, this is not planet Earth we are talking about. Some of the dinosaurs are invented by yours truly. Think about the plot of a sport anime/manga centered on horse-riding except that there are no horses, there are Big Lizards™

7, 13, 15, 50 for the multigender asks!
Thank you!! Edith, Corcra, and also me are genderfluid but in very different ways.
7 - Do their genders fluctuate, or are they all their genders all the time?
Edith: she feels that her genders are sort of roots to whatever gender she's actively feeling, so while she's usually one or maybe two genders, there's always a tiny bit of all of them in her.
Corcra: she sometimes feels that she hits moments of alignment between them but even though it's not usually 100% exclusive she does feel that she's generally man or woman.
Me: like Corcra, my genders are more or less "man" and "woman" but even though they fluctuate I'm always kind of both of them. It's probably fair to say that mix is sort of its own gender, androgyne.
13 - How does their multigender identity impact their sexuality? Do they use multiple labels for it?
Edith: in terms of what she does in the bedroom and who she's attracted to, not really. But in terms of how she feels about it, the quality of her attraction, she has all kinds of ways to describe it that I haven't really been able to align with real-world labels. Like with her pronouns she generally simplifies it into just being bi, but she'll explain the nuances if people ask.
Corcra: on the one hand she's not really worried about it because she doesn't feel like she has to explain it to anyone but her husband. But on the other her attraction to him can feel very different depending on how she feels gender-wise. She's still bi regardless, but when she feels more man her label of choice would be vincian.
Me: I'm loose with my labels in general - I don't really see a shift in my sexuality but I'll use whatever feels right - bi, gay, queer, but generally masculine or neutral descriptors.
15 - Do they use any “conflicting” or “contradictory” labels (cistrans, manwoman, girlboy, fagdyke, lesboy, turigirl, etc.)?
Edith: the closest she comes is demigendervoid, which isn't exactly contradictory, but does underline how one of her genders is really just the lack of gender.
Corcra: I could see him using vincigirl but on the whole he hasn't really felt the need for a conflicting label.
Me: none of them have really captured me at this point but anything can happen.
50 - Wild card! Mention anything else you want! The more I got thinking about Edith the more I realized that she has a whole lot of genders going on (the current list is voidgender, gendervoid, dymanic, cedargender, stonegender, aporagender, woman) but this isn't really obvious to anyone but her and to a lesser extent her family. Leon has built up the ability to guess what gender she's feeling mostly based on what she's wearing and adjust his nicknames accordingly. Horatio unintentionally absorbed the idea that the state of being Mom means having multiple genders and he's mildly surprised when many Moms don't (gee, Bill, why does your mom only have one gender?). I think he also thinks the pinnacle of relationships is having at least one person with multiple genders (not that he'd ever break up with someone on those grounds, that would be silly)—which led me to think that perhaps he discovers he's the one with multiple genders and actually he's living the dream. But I haven't yet figured out how that shakes out.
It's coincidental that Corcra is also a (step)mom, but interestingly, she is a public figure (COO of Revalo's Tailory) and makes plenty of public appearances on talk shows and stuff so she's learned how to navigate being genderfluid with that. It's not always seamless, but he's really not too bothered about people getting things exactly right as long as they're being respectful. And he tries to make it as easy and obvious as possible for them. I said in the past that her stepson Mick made her a bracelet years ago that she wears as a sort of identification when she shifts into her canid form at the full moon and I'd like to think that he included the genderfluid colors, even if it's only meta (not sure if there are genderfluid colors in-world but I could believe it).
I think I've vaguely referenced my hoard of secret gender labels in the past but honestly, they're mostly variations on trans genderfluid androgyne faggot. I also mentioned recently wanting to take on she/her as some of my pronouns again, but I feel like that would just end up being an easy out for a lot of people who know me as a trans guy. I want to be she/her in a queer gender way, and that's just not how people are going to see it.
Send me a multigender ask
Shifter taglist: @outpost51 @kk7-rbs (there's just enough shifter here to invoke the taglist lmao)
#to be clear I'm not mad that people know me as a trans guy. I'm very happy with that#but some people who knew me before could very easily slide into she/her all the time. a little mental out#I also pass super inconsistently (which is sort of intentional and sort of annoying) so#clearly the solution is to get into drag#multigender ask game#c: Edith#c: Corcra#meta botanist

Give me your top 3 ZoLaw songs please
Quick note: I don't care what gender a song is about, to me gender is so easy to change out. It's easy for me to imagine the characters who fit the song regardless of the gender the singer is or who they're singing about. I think that's true for everyone but then you meet weird people who care. Not me. No fucks. If the title of the song was "She's a Green Haired Three Sword Weilding Slut With A Death Wish And I Love Her" I dare you not to picture ZoLaw.
Call My Name by The Unlikely Canidates
I keep my heart / Under the floorboards / Deep in the dark / Far away from yours / A panic starts, in a little box / When you're at my door / And it's fine, no, I lied, I feel it screaming / It knows what you've come for
The imagery here, with a heart actually being removed and hidden away, is pretty on the nose but f you ignore that the song really captures what I think of as Law's whole "I am cursed, people cannot love me and if they do, they will die" thing. Like did you see Law's reaction to hearing that Corazon saved him not out of selfishness or for some greater purpose but because he LOVED him. That fact shakes Law to his core. And the way he just sent his crew to Zou without telling them he didn't think he was going to come back, that he thought he was going to die. That speaks to someone who does not see himself as being loved.
Even when he returns to them, he is clearly happy to see them but he is also very restrained. It all speaks to someone who is very guarded what the his heart, and I think this song captures that. Specifically, I think it both tells a story of somehow who is protecting their heart, who sees anyone trying to love them almost like an attack, and finally there is an undercurrent that while he is hiding his heart from being hurt he is doing so to protect the other person.
Your pale blue eyes trigger innocence / And blind to euphoria / Then it throbs and I'm lost, I hear it laughing / My heart will destroy us
I just think it really manages to capture how Law would feel about love. First, as an attack he needs to defend himself against and secondly as something he needs to protect the other person against.
And that's why I'd put it as one of my top Law songs.
Heart Of A Dog by The Kills
I get lost / But I always come around / It's a strange fear / Allows me to be found / I'm loyal, oh oh, I'm loyal / I'm loyal, oh oh / I got the heart of a dog
Since the first one was very Law oriented, have a Zoro inspired addition. I mean, do I even have to explain this? Look at those lyrics.
I do admit, this is one that works much better for All Hearts than maybe general ZoLaw, but I would argue that seeing as being loyal is so engrained in Zoro's character, it still works even outside of the context of Zoro being Law's first mate. I think a core element of Zoro that makes him so popular is just how ride or die he is. Once he is on this crew, he is on this ship, he's going along for the ride and the only way you'll get him off is death. That's just who Zoro IS.
That's who he is as a crew mate, and I have to believe that is who he would be as a lover. Even on a more canon reading where he isn't actually on Law's crew or ship, I don't think Zoro has it in him to love someone and NOT give it all himself. That's just not how he works.
Once he's set on Law, he's set on Law, and nothing short of his heart not beating will change that.
It's life or death why I chew through the chain / It don't matter my love's the same
Crazy Possessive by Kaci Battaglia
Touch my man again and Imma f*** you up, and Imma f*** you up
Listen to this song then imagine Law when ever Luffy wraps himself around Zoro.
Listen to it and imagine any modern AU and Doffy setting a SINGLE FINGER on Law.
Tell me these two would not fuck people up for DARING to try and cross the line.
Bonus!
Go Places by The New Pornographers
Yes a heart should always go one step too far / Come the morning and the day winding like dreams / Come the morning every blue shade of green / Come with me, go places
This should just be on every Captain x Anyone ship from OP playlist ever. That's just facts.
Come head-on, full circle / Our arms fill with miracles / Play hearts, kid, they work well Like magic, play aces / Stay with me, go places
—💚—
Also, looking at it now, my ZoLaw playlist is very All Hearts oriented. Like that's the name of my ZoLaw playlist so...
And yes, of course I have a ZoLaw playlist. I have seven different One Piece lists. That's how I roll.

NAME: Black Dog
RARITY: ★★★☆☆ | While some variants may be rare with little known about them, others can be locally well-known.
THREAT: ★★☆☆☆ | Most black dogs only frighten or portend misfortune with their appearance, not making themselves a physical threat. However, a couple of variants are notable for being predatory and lethal.
HABITAT: Most commonly seen in more rural, open habitats such as meadows or the sides of roads. Sometimes seen in the woods or around cemeteries. When seen in town, it’s generally only a glimpse in the dark.
DESCRIPTION: The descriptive and apt term of “black dog” refers to a category of dog-like creatures with black fur. They tend to roam outside of human settlements along roads or across farmland. Sometimes mistaken for stray dogs or even other canids, these creatures are shrouded in mystery, with some people believing them to be demonic entities, spectral beings, simple supernatural animals, or something from another world entirely. Despite black dogs making themselves known to humans frequently enough, there is so little known about them from just these fleeting glances, and as a result they’ve captured peoples’ imaginations… and fears. In some cases, a black dog will become so well-known in a locale that they’ll receive a nickname with their own legends being spun around them.
Perhaps some respect is warranted as some black dogs are known for being portents of misfortune or even death, and few others are outright malicious. Some theorize that the more dangerous variants of black dogs only differ from other less docile ones by their diet. That is, it’s possible all black dogs have similar lethal abilities they refrain from using. An equally compelling mystery is whether each type of black dog is a single individual or a population or if that varies, too.
TYPES:
Barghest: Seeing one of these large, midnight black dogs is considered to be a portent of misfortune – even death. Barghests only come out at night, and only when someone is alone. They tend to hang around churchyards and nearby wooded areas, especially if many people have died there recently. They have a clanking chain attached to one of their back legs which they drag across the ground; this sound may be the best clue that you’re being watched by one. Barghests have not been known to attack; they simply stare with piercing red eyes before loping away. Some think they’re banshees who were bitten by werewolves but there’s zero evidence of this. No weaknesses or ways to reverse the omen are known. There is a subspecies of barghest with slate grey fur that is similar but for one more difference: rather than acting as a bad omen for you, it’s acting as one for a loved one in your life. Debatable which type of barghest is worse to see… and it can be hard to tell the difference in the dark.
Black Shuck: Perhaps a species or perhaps an individual, Black Shuck is known to roam countryside and farmlands, and reports of this black dog span worldwide and have persisted for centuries. Said to be the size of a calf, Black Shuck has a large, single red eye, and its gaze gives onlookers chills for days. Black Shuck’s presence portends misfortune, but unlike the barghest, Black Shuck may play a part in fulfilling this prophecy. The leading theory is that Black Shuck is a cursed individual who has been made to wander for eternity as a monster, shedding off its misfortune bit by bit on those unlucky enough to look into its eye while it howls. No weaknesses are known, nor is there any hard evidence of this creature being the result of a curse other than a single vague poem dating back four centuries.
Church Grim: Also called the kirk grim, these black dogs are unique in that they’re most definitely specters. They cannot be seen by most, but those who can perceive ghosts would see a massive black dog with piercing white eyes. They’re thought to be the spirits of dogs who were buried on holy grounds, forever bound to act as a canine guardian of the premises. The location they’re tethered to is most often a chapel with a cemetery. They’ve been known to pull on peoples’ pant legs, knock people over, and urinate ectoplasm on tombstones. This is especially alarming for those who can’t see them. Church grims can be exorcised (if you really want to) or kept in line with salt. Groundskeepers may appreciate their presence – vampires less so. Those teeth can really shred up the undead. However, church grims will be loyal to whoever they perceive is taking the best care of the premises they protect.
Gurt Dog: Known to be benevolent black dogs, gurt dogs tend to be found more closely nestled in human settlements than other variants. These Great Dane like dogs act as guardians, watching over those they come to care for from afar. These may be travelers or campers on the road, but they’ve been known to keep watch over suburban homes as well. Sometimes an individual doesn’t even know a gurt dog has “chosen” them until their life is at stake, and the dog intervenes. Of course there’s a catch. Those being watched over by the gurt dog will have increasingly bad luck, requiring more and more intervention from the dog, creating a positive feedback loop of constant threats and chaos.
Gwyllgi: The most fiery of the black dogs, gwyllgi can grow to be the size of a cow, and their flame retardant fur grows long and shaggy. Their eyes burn like hot coals and immobilize anyone who looks into them, even just a passing glance. Their most dangerous asset is their flame-breath, which they use to barbeque their frozen victims. Most often seen patrolling along roadsides at night, gwyllgi are said to consume travelers and residents of towns they encounter along the way. Some have a particular road they patrol, while others are perpetual nomads that travel wherever a country’s highway system will take them. If you avoid the roads and don't look into their eyes, you’ll probably be fine. Hunters may be more familiar with gwyllgi than other black dogs because their behaviors bring them into conflict with humans. Rangers are immune to their gaze but not their flame, and they can be killed by conventional means.
Loophound: This black-coated dog will run circles around you, literally. Long and lithe like a sighthound, it can run as fast as a deer. They like wide open areas where they can run without impediment. At night, they’re known for bolting in and out of someone’s peripheral vision, staring with their bright white eyes for a brief moment before making you question whether you saw anything at all. Loophounds aren’t aggressive, but they are playful. And their favorite game is one that can curse you. They run loops around people, and each completed circuit bestows an increasingly strong curse. One loop may cause you merely to trip a few times, but 10 might give you a lifelong problem, and 20? That curse might become generational. If a loophound tries to engage you in this kind of play, you need to prevent it from moving somehow, and quickly.
Moddey Dhoo: With the appearance of a large, black spaniel, the moddey dhoo has a thick coat of black fur that’s constantly dripping wet and foul smelling. More than anything, it wants to dry off, so it seeks out warmth, and especially fire. Those camping out in the woods may attract this black dog’s attention. When it locates a source of warmth it desires, it responds with feral fury, tearing up any obstacles (including humans) who might rob it of heat. Putting out the fire will confuse the dog, as if it no longer even knows anyone is there; distancing oneself from the source of heat is risky (only the moddey dhoo knows how far away is enough for it) but it can calm it. Those who find themselves in close proximity to a moddey dhoo typically end up with some residual bad luck, to the flavor of being dripping wet for no reason, falling in bodies of water, or having their house flooded. This eventually wears off. They’ve been known to follow phoenixes around.

Welcome to the first-ever Howler, where we’ll give you the latest updates on our campaign to protect endangered wolves in the face of illegal killings, government mistreatment, and the other threats that imperil this charismatic canid.
Through bold policy advocacy, community engagement, and unrelenting litigation we’ll restore wolves throughout the American West.
If you find yourself howling for wolf recovery and are inspired by our recent work, we humbly ask that you donate – even $15 goes a long way! – to our Wolf Defense Fund.
Wolves Reach the Grand Canyon in Arizona
Last month, two Mexican wolves, Hope and Mystery, crossed the I-40 border in Arizona to settle near the Grand Canyon.
While they currently roam freely, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Arizona Game and Fish Department intend to trap and relocate them.
In response, Guardians and 22 conservation groups urged the agencies to let the wolves remain in the Grand Canyon ecoregion. Guardians also launched an action to appeal directly to Governor Hobbs, urging her to use her leadership position to protect the wolves' right to live wild and free.
Colorado wolf family captured; one wolf dead, survivors taken into captivity
Colorado's wolves have been dealt a devastating setback. In late August and September, in response to conflicts with a few livestock owners, the entire Copper Creek Wolf Pack was captured by the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Department as part of a relocation effort.
This effort resulted in the death of the male wolf father, who fathered the first four wild-born pups from the state’s reintroduction effort.
It is unknown when or where the pack will be released, but our work to create a Colorado willing to coexist with wolves is more important now than ever.
The next step in Colorado’s wolf reintroduction: Up to 15 wolves set to come to Colorado from Canada!
While the wolf reintroduction effort in Colorado hasn’t been without its obstacles, we’ll leave you with some hopeful news:
The Colorado Parks and Wildlife Department has announced an agreement with the British Columbia Ministry of Water, Lands, and Resource Stewardship to get 15 wolves this winter. They’re expected to be on the ground in Colorado between December 2024 and March 2025.
Woof – that was a lot. Rest assured, through every challenge, setback, and victory in the fight for wolf recovery across the West, WildEarth Guardians stands at the forefront — ready and determined to protect these magnificent creatures every step of the way

Chupacabra Mystery
Since its first recorded sightings in the 1990s, the chupacabra—a creature whose very name conjures mystery and fear—has captured people's imaginations throughout the Americas. People often refer to the chupacabra as the "goat-sucker" in Spanish, believing it to prey on livestock, particularly goats, and drain their blood. The Chupacabra mythology has endured in spite of the lack of hard proof, growing from a local curiosity to a worldwide phenomenon. This essay investigates the history, folklore, and cultural significance of the chupacabra, looking at how a contemporary myth can spread and thrive in popular culture.
The Legend's Beginnings
In 1995, a number of cattle deaths in Puerto Rico left farmers and veterinarians perplexed, sparking the tale of the chupacabra. When discovered, the animals' bodies were purportedly empty of blood and had puncture wounds in their necks. Witnesses claimed to have seen a creature with reptile-like features, huge eyes, and spines running the length of its back. It was unlike any known species. After these first reports, there was a media frenzy, and word of the incident swiftly left Puerto Rico. According to certain theories, the Chupacabra tale might have its origins in older folklore. For instance, vampire legends dating back millennia are popular in Latin American cultures, where stories of bloodsucking monsters are not unheard of. One could argue that the chupacabra is an updated version of these ancient tales, tailored to fit modern fears and circumstances. Regional Differences
The chupacabra is described in a variety of ways, which is indicative of its classification as a cryptid—a creature whose existence is hypothesized but not verified. Early accounts from Puerto Rico described it as a reptilian-looking animal with sharp spines, leathery or scaly greenish-gray skin, and bright red or green eyes. But the accounts started to differ as sightings moved to various regions of the Americas. For instance, in the southern United States, chupacabras are sometimes characterized as being hairless and having prominent fangs, more akin to wild dogs or coyotes. This diversity has led some experts to hypothesize that these sightings might actually be animals with mange, a skin condition that can cause fur loss and give animals an odd appearance. The fundamental aspects of the Chupacabra mythology—its vampire tendencies and predation on livestock—remain true despite these variations. This implies a common cultural story that goes beyond particular physical depictions.
Influence
Especially in Latin America and the US, the chupacabra has had a profound impact on popular culture. Many television series, films, books, and even video games often depict the chupacabra as a dangerous, elusive predator. Additionally, companies have commercialized the creature's appearance, featuring it on everything from action figurines to T-shirts. The chupacabra's versatility is one of its many charms. From rural farmers' worries about livestock predation to urban dwellers' infatuation with the unknown and the occult, the monster represents a variety of fears and anxieties. In this way, the chupacabra is a cultural icon and a representation of the enigmatic and unexplained. Chupacabra mythology also emphasizes how media shapes and disseminates contemporary myths. Foreign media then picked up the first stories from Puerto Rico, reprinted by local news organizations. The chupacabra's quick spread contributed to its lasting popularity and served as an example of how the media can turn isolated occurrences into widely recognized phenomena. Science
Even though the chupacabra is still primarily associated with mythology, some scientists and skeptics have attempted to explain the phenomenon using more conventional methods. Many reported sightings of chupacabras have proven to be entirely false or mistaken animals. For example, mange-ridden canids without hair can have a monstrous appearance that might cause identification confusion. Furthermore, more common creatures like dogs or coyotes, whose attacks occasionally leave comparable scars, may have preyed on the chupacabra, causing its puncture wounds and blood loss. The perception of blood-drained carcasses may also change due to the natural decomposition process, which can cause blood to pool away from specific body parts. Conclusion
The chupacabra is a great illustration of how contemporary myths can originate, develop, and disperse across societies. The legend originated in Puerto Rico due to a particular set of circumstances, but it has expanded to include many different descriptions and interpretations, representing general human curiosity and concerns. Scientific explanations may clarify certain elements of the chupacabra phenomenon, but its status in popular culture remains assured. The chupacabra will always linger in the background of our collective consciousness, as long as there are mysteries to solve and tales to tell.

There are about 37 species of foxes, distributed across the globe. The most well-known species is the red fox (Vulpes vulpes), recognized for its striking red coat, bushy tail, and white-tipped tail. Other notable fox species include the Arctic fox, Fennec fox, Gray fox, and the swift and agile kit fox. Each species has adapted to its specific environment, showcasing the remarkable diversity within the fox family.
Adaptations for Survival:
Foxes are highly adaptable animals, thriving in a variety of environments ranging from deserts to forests, and even urban areas. Their adaptability is attributed to a combination of physical and behavioral characteristics. Foxes have acute senses, with excellent hearing and night vision, allowing them to be effective predators. Their sharp claws and strong jaws aid in hunting small mammals, birds, and insects. Additionally, foxes exhibit remarkable intelligence, enabling them to navigate diverse landscapes and solve problems in their quest for survival.
Social Structure and Communication:
Foxes are generally solitary animals, but some species display varying degrees of social behavior. Red foxes, for instance, form family groups during the breeding season, with the young staying with their parents until they become independent. Foxes communicate through a range of vocalizations, including barks, screams, and howls. They also use body language, such as tail movements and facial expressions, to convey information to each other.
Clever Hunters:
Foxes are opportunistic hunters with a diverse diet that includes small mammals, birds, fruits, and insects. Their hunting strategies are clever and adaptable. For instance, the red fox is known for its ability to stalk prey silently before pouncing with incredible agility. Arctic foxes, on the other hand, are known to follow polar bears to scavenge on the remains of their kills. The adaptability and resourcefulness of foxes make them successful predators in a variety of ecosystems.
Cultural Significance:
Foxes have left an indelible mark on human culture, featuring prominently in myths, legends, and folklore across different societies. In Japanese folklore, the kitsune is a mythical fox spirit with shape-shifting abilities and intelligence. In European folklore, the cunning fox is a central character in many fables, often outsmarting other animals. These cultural representations reflect the complex and multifaceted nature of foxes as both tricksters and symbols of adaptability.
Conservation Challenges:
While foxes are generally not considered endangered, they face various threats, including habitat loss, disease, and persecution. In some regions, foxes are hunted for their fur, and they may also be seen as pests in agricultural areas. Conservation efforts are crucial to maintaining the balance of ecosystems and ensuring the survival of these remarkable creatures.
Conclusion:
Foxes, with their intelligence, adaptability, and cultural significance, continue to capture our fascination. As we strive to coexist with the natural world, understanding and appreciating the vital role foxes play in ecosystems is essential. Whether roaming the wilderness or navigating urban landscapes, foxes remind us of the intricate web of life and the beauty of nature's diversity.

<i>We know that this animal from photo was wild canid come from somewhere in China, Myanmar, Vietnam or Laos. I remember that from this profil - "fox" is similar to Nyctereutes procyonoides but this is only effect optical. This is really bad photo, from this formulation it appear how raccoon dog but this is not this (.....) Now, I'm totally sure that this animal is really more relatives to Vulpes than to Nyctereutes. I first thought that raccoon dog might ancestor this "fox", because is one of most primitive canid in the world. But now I totally persuaded myself that is more related to foxes from Vulpes genus. This probably represent new primitive or inversely - totally modern genus in tribe Foxes (Vulpini) and perhaps far related with red fox (Vulpes vulpes), corsac fox (Vulpes corsac) and arctic fox (Alopex lagopus), but this is not some that species, but it really represent new species."
Do którego należy cyjon.

A mógłbyś dokładniej podać źródła?

albo to inna, nieznana rasa psa.

Nmnm.

Oprócz tego ssaka, były tam łaskun chiński i inne łasze, latające wiewiórkolotki, mundżak chiński, nietoperze rudawki, "śmierdzące borsuki" z rodziny skunksów, kot bengalski, a więc jedynie dzikie gatunki, prócz kota domowego. Powstaje pytanie, czy ludzie az tak bardzo by sobie pomylili znane zwierzeta? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ dzika przyroda. exploracja i odkrycia zoologiczne. wild fauna & flora notes. from quatl pietrzak/quatlwork . 2008-2017.

Vulpes sp. - Renard

What is D.O.S.E?
Department of Supernatural Enforcement.
This branch of the government started over one hundred years ago, when the first signs of creatures that aren’t human appeared. The Founder Carsten Moody stumbled upon these creatures whilst out with his wife and child. To him he thought they were a stray pack of rather large dogs.
They attacked him and his family, killing his wife and child. A few weeks later, he witnessed the same dogs that viciously slaughtered his entire family; shift into the same dogs. But they weren’t dogs, no, these were wolves. He vowed his revenge on the canids, plotting for months and years, allowing himself to gain popularity and power amongst those in his small village.
It took many months to find them again, laying in wait for them to turn up. One by one they were killed, when their body reverted back to its original human form. They were taken by the people, years would go by and a small organization within the government started. Years after that, a prison was built to house those that were captured alive. Many shifters and other magical creatures soon started appearing.
So did the D.O.S.E. They partnered with many high influential countries, bringing in new tech and connections. The D.O.S.E only held the strongest of men and women, if you could pass the rigorous training, the mental tests, the psychological assessments. You were an agent, retrofitted with nanotechnology to make it easier to capture and or exterminate the creatures that posed serious threats to the population.
Their reach goes all the way through the world, from the government to the Vatican. If you see a D.O.S.E agent that means death was not that far behind, not only are they here to cull the supernatural population. Humans too find themselves on their list, if the military can’t handle the threat. The D.O.S.E will.
