"Mr. Landau Replies to Mr. Emery," Border Cities Star. October 23, 1933. Page 23. --- EDITOR, The Border Cities Star, Sir: Would you please open a space for a few comments on a letter by Mr. W. Emery, of Riverside, which appears in The Star of October 16.

In the letter Mr. Emery wrote as follows: "Through certain economic laws over which human beings have no control Socialism will be the next order of society."

I would like Mr. E. to explain, or prove the existence of such laws. Anybody can tell about some uncontrollable laws which will favor a certain policy.

I, too, believe that the present system is done. Nobody wants it any more. It is based on monopoly and might and will destroy itself and I do believe Socialism is better; at least it is an honest idea. The present system is a mixing up; it has all the bad ideas of the other systems.

When we want a new system, we also have a duty to try and get the very best and the best is nothing less than a just system. If we do not get the right system now, it means that another generation will suffer perhaps more than the present.

Socialism is injustice; it denies the individual's right to his own labor. The doctrine of Socialism is work after ability, wages after needs. Now try to compare the above dogma with the matter of Georgism, which is: "equal tax on equal land and equal wages for equal work."

In the Communistic manifesto of 1848 Karl Marx writes: "The land monopoly is the foundation of the capital monopoly." Here Karl Marx hit the nail and if he had made the right conclusion, we might never have seen Socialism.

Well, the C. C. F. is not clear Marxism, it is modern Socialism, where the same doctrine is left out. So is socialization of production and collective farming and instead of these taking up the new invention, "government central," which also is adopted by several fractions of the Second Internationale in Europe and as it is a factor we better look out for because it sounds better than it is.

I would like Mr. Emery, and other C. C. F. men to answer a question. If the government is controlling the manufacturers, and these go bankrupt. is the government then responsible? Control without responsibility is a pretty low art.

It is now 75 years ago since the Socialistic movement started in Europe and in the last 20 years there has been, and still is Socialistic government in several countries but is the condition better there than anywhere else? The tax is always high where Socialists are in power. They collect taxes from one person and give half of it to another and waste the other half in administration.

We are already blessed with too much government and still the C. C. F. would make yet more, or in other words "reform" the country to the status of a penitentiary. It might be better than the present but it can be that too and still be of a very low standard, The

C. C. F. platform also emphasizes co-operation, and it is undoubtedly the surest way to commonwealth among the people, but we do not need a C. C. F. government to make co-operation.

The co-operative movement in other countries has been done on only by the people themselves, without influence from any political party or government and that is likely why it has succeeded and it is my opinion, too, that the Canadian people will associate and co-operate through the depression to the aim of economic freedom.

Dia 8/08 … dia dos pais ne? Não poderia ser o pior dia pra mim. Ultimamente tenho descoberto meu valor e percebi que ele é -0 kkk é, a vida tem dessas ne? Logo eu, achei que estava curada, estava perto de me curar e tinha encontrado alguém que realmente se importava comigo… tudo besteira!!! Não existe ninguém nesse mundo que se importe cmg ou que ja chegou perto de se importar comigo de verdade. Meus pais??? Minha mae ta mto ocupada reclamando de contas e meu pai sequer lembra que eu existo.. ja faz um tempo que nao me liga pra saber se to bem, pra saber se preciso de algo.. se ate mesmo estou viva. Tudo que eu precisava nesse dia dos pais, era alguém do meu lado. Mas pelo visto eu vou ficar sozinha.. como vim ao mundo. Cada dia que passa, eu percebo que to sozinha, sem amigos, namorado? estamos ficando sem tempo de tantas e tantas brigas.. acho que não da pra insistir em algo quando não se tem respeito, empatia, amizade, o minimo sabe? To cansada de chorar, to cansada de parecer que eu to sempre implorando as coisas e eu to tão maa tão canaada… acho que cansaço emocional é pior que o físico, pq pelo menos a gente dorme e qnd acorda, ta tudo bem sabe? O cansaço emocional nos faz sequer ter vontade de levantar da cama. E eu ultimamente to assim, cada dia que passa, beiro a depressao e nao sei oq fazer. Doi, mas ta na hora de eu me amar.. chega de implorar o minimo. Amanhã eu vou tomar uma decisão que vai mudar minha vida. Ou eu vou me arrepender muito ou eu vou ter certeza que fiz o certo. Mas se nao for pra eu ser prioridade na vida de alguém, eu prefiro nem nela estar… é isso. Aos poucos eu morro e aos poucos eu me mato kkk que seja uma vida curta pq não aguento mais.
