Mabel and Dipper became legal "orphans" at a young age due to their parent's divorce; neither party being willing to take custody of the twins. The mother didn't want the responsibility of having children and a family anymore, and the father claimed being financially unprepared to take care of two kids.

They stayed with their only living grandparent, Sherman Pines, for a few months before he died.

Since there were no close friends or relatives who were available to take care of the two at the time, the twins were left under the jurisdiction of foster care. However eventually, after much manipulation and bribing, they were adopted by a distant "business man" who ran a big organization in a town in New Mexico: Andrew Alcatraz.

so i reread Izuru Kamukura’s Cuddly Toy by Suitov on ao3 and i was struck by the urge to draw!

For no reason at all, I just felt like reminding everyone that the Pokemon protagonists in the mainline games do not have canon ages. They are just little guys with cool hats who we can project onto as we go on our little Pokemon adventures. That's why it's so fun to play with these characters in fandom spaces. We can mold them into whatever shape we want, folding in little pieces of ourselves that we can share with other fans through the fan works we create.

However, please don't force your headcanons onto others as law and don't police how people choose to play with their dolls. Fandom is supposed to be a fun space where people can talk about what they love and support and encourage the passion and creativity of others.

I recently got eaten alive by danganronpa and read one of my fave stories in YEARS and it inspired me to draw something. so I wanted to post some progress pics before I finish the whole thing!!

The fic is “Izuku Kamukura’s Cuddly Toy” by @suitov if you love danganronpa or komahina/kamukoma I highly suggest it!! (although I know I’m incredibly late to the party) it’s the kind of story you read once to fall in love, and twice to fall harder. Loved every piece of it and idc kamukuras characterization there is the only one I will accept
