Hate how the original Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde book was completely misrepresented in pop culture as a horrible and awful ableist take on DID when in the original novel, Hyde wasn’t a real person, he was the fucked up science equivalent of Jekyll’s alt account where he posted things that he knew he couldn’t get away with on his main.

Hyde is Jekyll’s fake identity for trolling people and committing crimes. Hyde is not a real character, he is just Jekyll using a shape-changing potion.

EDIT: Too many people are giving Jekyll an out by saying that he’s just a sweet old guy whose evil science got out of control and it’s not his fault. Jekyll isn’t fucking innocent in any capacity. Jekyll’s entire character motivation is that he’s secretly a dirty old man and he takes a shapeshifting potion to get away with things he really shouldn’t be doing. Every bad thing that happens to him is his own fault.
