Like with Spike he doesn’t believe he’s worthy of her love now that he has the soul so he rejects it mirroring the way Buffy rejected his love in season 6 because she couldn’t accept it either but like you’re telling me when Buffy FINALLY tells Spike she loves him - the only man she’s ever said that too after Angel and this time of her own free will and not because she’s being manipulated into saying it (angel asks her if she loves him before he’ll tell her the truth about drusilla) - she isn’t believed and the foretelling of that event was spoken by the fate who’s cursed to never be believed?????
