gah that post about manipulative people tend to frame themselves as victims!! a very frustrating feeling as i'd recently been involved with one. it's genuinely disheartening they'll cry and use those tears to gain support from people but then somehow manages to make other people feel like shit

how will they learn if they won't bother to look into themselves, using their trauma both as a way to justify themselves and a defense? ah!!

First of all, I'm so sorry you had to deal with a manipulative person. that can be a very emotionally taxing experience that requires a lot of healing, self-love and self-care to get thru. I hope u r doing alright and taking care of urself and treating urself to good things cause u really deserve it! manipulative ppl can be very toxic and emotionally exhausting and can wear down your self-esteem, your happiness, your confidence and your self-security just so they can bring themselves up. It's terrible; they purposely step on you to gain leverage in their own self-esteem and happiness, inflating their sense of self and superiority complex but when you call them out, they twist and manipulate the situation, reaching as FAR as they can to make themselves as the innocent "uwu" victim and YOU as the toxic villain plotting to bring them down. it's so fucking frustrating because as you said, it's so disheartening. you will feel so helpless because your feelings will be invalidated and you will feel even worse than before. they MANIPULATE U INTO FEELING GUILTY FOR BEING HURT BY THEIR OWN WORDS, BEHAVIOURS AND ACTIONS! how fucking sickening is that? and it's worse cause as they wear you down over and over, you start to buy into their manipulations and genuinely feel terrible for feeling hurt in the first place. u start questioning ur own emotions and whether they are valid and wonder if you are being "oversensitive" or being a terrible friend/child/sibling/partner etc for taking offense and being hurt. they don't mean to hurt you! so why should u be offended? when in reality, u have every right in what you feel and that anybody that tries to play victim and manipulate their way out of accountability of hurting you is a shitty and toxic person that shouldn't be in ur life.

manipulative ppl w/victim complexes can't handle being painted as the villain for even a single second so when u call them out, they double down and twist the situation whatever way they could to come out of the conflict looking like the innocent victim. they make YOU apologize for being hurt by them which is so fucked up. they cry tears and guilt-trip you into making you feel like a terrible person for making them cry or to gain support from outside parties, as you have mentioned. tears, as we know, are a dangerous weapon. manipulative ppl use tears as a means of escaping accountability unscathed completely at your own emotional expense.

your last statement holds a lot of truth. “hurt people hurt people” is really what it is. unfortunately, sometimes people holding trauma cope with that trauma by inflicting it onto others. as much as we can empathize with people that have been hurt and traumatized in the past and the desire to help and support them, if they are in turn, inflicting pain and toxicity on you... there’s no justification. there is never a justification of purposely hurting an innocent person for ur own gain. as u said, you can’t use it as a defense and justification to hurt another person and expect to play the victim. it’s even more complicated as the person they are hurting can have their own traumas and they are trying their best to be as empathetic as possible to the manipulative person... but in turn being blamed for making that person feel worse. i myself have once been blamed for damaging a person’s mental health further solely for calling them out for being manipulative towards me. i think... many ppl have had experiences where the world is against them and they tend to frame the person they hurt as part of that when being called out. if u call them out, they group u with the rest of the ppl that have been trying to bring them down. it’s truly unhealthy for both parties and honestly, creates a fractured and strained relationship consisting of walking on eggshells and second-guessing yourself constantly. that’s not to say not to empathize with them; u can understand as to why they act this way but still recognize that the way they treat you is not right. as you said, they need to look into themselves, process and reflect and wonder “why do they feel this way?” and “how have i hurt them?” instead of taking immediate offense and deflecting the blame. they will never learn as they will never even acknowledge they are being toxic in the first place. the key word here is EMPATHY. manipulative ppl do not practice empathy for others as they are too engrossed in playing the victim to understand how they hurt you. and anyone who isn’t willing to understand u shouldn’t be in ur life. them willing to not only hurt u but inflict further pain on u by making u feel terrible just to escape accountability... they aren’t worth it. we are far too precious to have to go thru that emotional exhaustion of being hurt and being painted as the villain for it over and over again.

anyways, i’ve spoken too much lol. just like u anon, i have been in a toxic relationship with a manipulative person with a victim complex as well. the only way i got out was by calling them out not only for hurting me, but for also attempting to manipulate me into being painted as the villain and them as the victim. it really is freeing to break out of these dynamics! it can be hard to realize ur worth in these toxic relationships and even realize u r being manipulated but i’m proud of u for recognizing that shitty relationship for what it was and realizing that they were an unhealthy presence in ur life. i love u anon and i hope u r doing well and surrounding urself with good ppl who genuinely love, care and support u. 🤍💧✨🦋 u deserve the universe and more. 🪐✨💜☁️🌙

thoughts on jughead + his dynamic with gladys or fp if u have them </3

yes i DO thank u <3 i ended up writing a wholeass novel about this (unsurprisingly) so im throwing it under a read more

like a lot of other things in rvd, i feel like the whole jones family’s interactions could have had a lot more depth, but unfortunately fp and gladys have just sorta been used as pawns for whatever purpose they needed to serve for the plot.

i feel like in s1 we got a really solid picture of their circumstances - fp had fallen off the wagon so badly that gladys and jb left, and jughead didnt feel safe/comfortable living at home anymore, but he started to slowly piece together his relationship with his dad again and was able to start living at home again (until fp went to prison again and all that).

i think i tend to overexaggerate the canon depictions of fp as abusive, but at the same time, ive noticed a lot of ppl tend to forget about/not address it at all (not that i can blame them, bc the writers have too). s1 really sets up fp as an unstable father who wants to support his family but is struggling so much with his own issues that he isn’t able to be the kind of father he wants to be for jughead or jb. throughout s1 (and some of s2 iirc) we get to see several instances where fp is borderline (or explicitly, depending how you define it) verbally and physically abusive w/ jughead -- off the top of my head im thinking of a few instances where fp yells at jughead and physically shoves him around, and these incidents make sense in the context of s1 - fp is unstable, struggling, trying to be a parent but struggling to balance his anger issues and alcoholism, and all those factors contribute to jughead leaving the trailer. on one hand, i do write these incidents as being more serious in my fics and stuff, but on the other, i think a lot of folks ignore them or underestimate them - i mean, they were serious enough that jughead would rather live in a closet at school than at home, so. yeah.

i have parentdale stans to thank for indirectly encouraging me to think about fp as a more complex character, rather than just using him as a prop to set up jughead’s difficult life circumstances. the closest rvd ever got to Saying Something about the cycle of abuse was in 304, where young fp is like “i don’t want to end up like my old man, downing six-packs in my double-wide...at least i won’t hit my kid.” i think that bit of backstory makes fp’s character a lot more compelling and meaningful, and makes it even more tragic when the episode ends w/ him sitting down with his dad and cracking open a beer, and inevitably ending up where the viewers know he does -- in the same trailer, struggling w alcoholism, and taking out his anger on his kid. the writers could’ve turned that storyline into a deeper exploration of how the cycle of abuse and class conflict lead to repetitions of the same cycle, but in the absence of that development, i still think that episode develops fp’s character, backstory, and motivation in ways that were crucial to my ability to understand him as a similarly complex character. in the end, he is trying his best, but dealing with a lot of shit on his plate that renders him, at times, incapable of being the kind of father he wanted to be.

wrt gladys (specifically the s1 phone call), i think the writers needed to establish jughead as having difficult family circumstances and nowhere to turn and all that so that the blow of fp’s confession hit harder, but i don’t think they managed to actually integrate any kind of explanation for her rejecting jughead in s1 into her characterization later on. as far as i remember -- although i could be forgetting something -- we don’t ever learn Why she told jughead he couldnt come stay with her and jb in toledo.

i really would’ve liked to see gladys given the time and space to become a realistic character with her own set of motivations before she got shoehorned into s3 as a villain. despite all the emphasis on the joneses ~being a family again~ we don’t actually get to see them be a family for very long. i don’t have as many thoughts about gladys as i do about fp, because i feel like she never got that same level of development, although i wish she had. i think they started off with a solid basis for her character -- thinking of the details abt her going to night classes to get her GED while taking care of jellybean, and the little hints we get abt her life in toledo, but ultimately i think the writers rushed into using her for plot development before ever really making her into a solid independent character.

k-pop is so very interesting even from a business point of view. there’s no messing about the companies have the reigns over the idols but the idols sign contracts without thinking. I will never get the fuss over an idol? I don’t really care to care about them specifically k-pop as a whole is not music its business. fans need to understand that contracts aren’t permanent even if idol groups didn’t last long, which the majority don’t these days

fans need to understand that they can’t and don’t have possession over their idols no matter who they like or love, no matter if they are sasaeng or not this righteous behavior and claiming of biases is the reason why fans don’t have much interest in their own life, they’d rather pour it into someone from another country in a way it’s oh so interesting because why are the idols surprised? why are fans bothered about stalking? when something like stalking it is bound to happen, come on. but I was watching the stray kids interview with the Australian network out of pure curiosity, the problem is the way “their dreams” have been marketed as is why they have a lack of privacy

they act like they didn’t have a clue what they were actually signing up for, it’s not a regular 9 to 5 job with night shifts, I don’t really get the pity party they kind of throw in interviews where they say things like oh it’s so hard and tiring to be an idol or the tours are exhausting and taxing or I only got paid this much I had to live with others in a low rented apartment but again did they expect luxury straight away?

no at the beginning especially if they are foreign of course its gonna seem wrong and even toxic or unhealthy working environment it’s business

is they think they can get by with doing just one or two dance routine sand call it a night? no cause there’s so much more than just dance. if young ppl are so easily swayed by this dream then they really need to think about it because it’s not realistic, nothing about doing what any celebrity does is ever going to be realistic and I think it’s one of the things where ppl go oooh I wanna be like that dancing away on stage and doing tours

it's not just about dance, it’s naturally going to be such a hard working environment where the companies are gonna expect more from the frisbees and if they don’t put 100% in well, they’re gonna take years before they debut. they don’t just go yep that guy can earn more than others and get treated differently or better

the idols are just pawns for the companies but obsession for the fans, contracts are gonna end if and when they break them, so i don’t get why idols or fans got so worked up over hyuna and whoever it was when rules are rules if they don’t stick by them then adios

at the start it would be like any other part time job, bc they going expecting to go straight to the top so they can get well paid enough but get away with doing whatever they like or not be treated so harshly well, then its going to be the opposite approach bc it doesn’t just gravitate to them they might generate some hype but there’s too ,any it’s overbearing and you have to really be so,etching other than another hype train if they want to really go to the top, bts mint be the top but they certainly aren’t all they cracked up to be because they wanted to go for this kind of dream now i feel like they could care less hence awful music that hasnt been up to their usual standard

if they’ve got to give so much to the fans be it online or otherwise the fans are naturally going to be obsessed they’re naturally going to stalk because the idols are part of the problem. they encourage streaming, voting, bullying others for just sharing opinion online, it’s stupid. I feel like the way idols encourage backlash by engaging in it shows to me they don’t really know how to deal with it again, what do idols expect? when this is what they sign up for. the purpose of idol is so the fans feel like they have connection to them in some form of way as twisted as it is, so no one should be shocked that when an idol does something out of the normal behaviour or acts up on social media, then later comes back grovelling and being all self pity just so fans feel bad

it seems that the idols and fans are somewhat alike because the fans easily bash both the idols and others for speaking against the idol if they don’t agree with what is being said or done, but then when it comes to the idol suddenly it’s the other way around and the idol speaks up or tries to be the mediator in the very drama they created and evoked

this is what happens in 2020, kpop might be all about mental health and being respectful of one another but they sure as hell don’t act on it when it really comes down to the things they do and say that could easily be avoided, the idols seem to quickly respond to shit but then get surprised when they get told off? I mean what do you expect? sunshine and rainbows 24/7? I don’t think so the k-pop idols r the reason sasaeng behavior exists, the company can do as much as they like to try and protect but it’s always going to be there because this whole idol fan dynamic where the fans feel they should have every bit of their idol in their life as much as possible

it’s exactly like me going to my workplace and expecting to get more pay when what I receive at the moment is minimum wage, they don’t shoot to the top, it’s naturally going to be a tiring exhausting environment to be in the public eye, u don’t have to be in it to know that either but this is what they chose for themselves so they can’t expect anything more they can’t have raged on social media whining about fans who follow them around cause again it’s in the contracts that they signed for or did they forget about it? it seems to me idols would rather blame someone or something else for making the choices that they did than to face the music or deal with the public

no one really could see the racism coming from when bts went to the west? do u all really think that western artists actually adore them or it’s because their another hype train to hop in the bandwagon… they mention bts, get articles written, draws in fan's attention equals to that artist trending using bts or any other group

the thing is it seems that idols don’t know how much they encourage fan behavior be it good or bad, they are the influence over the influenced. they are the driving force for whatever is said and done about them or to them just cause they’re in the system means nothing can go unscathed, the company watches them so if when they decide to do something that could potentially damage the reputation of course the company is going act on it potentially by removing said member from the group but again kpop is business

its not about the fans when it comes to money or reputation it’s about whether the idol is suited enough to be considered part of the group, whether they did anything wrong doesn’t matter, the companies will handle it how they think is best for both the company and group, the fans can be whiny about it but rules are put in place not to be broken

the other thing is that fans act like they don’t cause any problems either, they never apologise to kaachi for bullying those girls, whom i felt sorry for, when it comes to their precious idols they demand apologies for them whether it’s from company, or some random article writer, radio person, whatever. the double standards both from the fans and idols are the reason why it’s never peaceful or easy going for anyone in the kpop business

plus it strikes me that for whatever reason the idols that get up to stuff they really should know better about or speak just a little too much about unimportant matters or get shocked and react badly to what’s being said about them when it’s their actions and their choices lead them to be heavily watched so it’s just as much their responsibility as it is the fans, sasaengs whatever whoever, because they’re in the public eye, of course, they’re not gonna get privacy, of course, stalking is gonna occur, and of course there is going to be a backlash and they act like they don’t have a clue about how much of what they do really has the opposite effect and that is why it is the way it is

her mom worked 3 jobs to put her through school, so in return tessa pushes herself incredibly hard to succeed. needs a break and a hug and to get laid to be honest.

she had a really traumatic time at high school because there was a shooting in her school. she was in the next classroom when it happened, and she lost one of her friends in the shooting. she had to take two months off school, was diagnosed with depression and put on anti-depressants because of it. in her 2nd year of uni she was rediagnosed with bipolar disorder and anxiety, which she’s now on medication for. she can be really good for several months at a time and feel super creative and determined (she actually finds manic periods helpful for her creativity n art, n sadly sometimes doesn’t take her meds in these periods to push herself more which is obvs super bad.....). but when the bad periods come they can also last months n she had to take a semester out of school last year because of her mood, so she should be a senior by now but she’s retaking junior year

she attends weekly stress-management sessions prescribed by her doctor which she finds pointless.

Her story begins with Cordelia Costello, a twenty-three year old college drop-out, turned beautician, turned columnist, turned intern at a local publishing company. She was a youthful, beautiful, siren of a women, always surrounded by an aura of enigma and an entourage of men. It was no surprise to the gossips in the office that within six months working at the company, Cordelia had added to her list another title – mistress to Franklin Hozier, the Editor of the New York Times. After two blissful months and three hundred and twenty seven orgasms, Cordelia decided she wanted a baby. Franklin laughed in her face. Feeling isolated and used, Cordelia continued her affair with her boss’ boss for another month, before deciding to take matters into her own hands.

It started with a turkey baster.

Soon the infant cries of a baby girl graced the world, her wrinkled skin puckered and pink as her mother held her in her arms, glancing upon the most beautiful thing in her life. Once Tessa, named after Cordelia’s favourite literary heroine, entered the world, Franklin left her life and things took a turn for the better. Despite living in a rented one-bedroom apartment in Staten Island, on what little money Cordelia had saved, Tessa’s childhood years were filled with nothing but the happiest of memories. Times were tough, but what they lacked in money, the Costello’s made up in love. While Tessa was at school, Cordelia did odd jobs cleaning, child-minding, working in local nurseries, in order to save up enough money to give her daughter the best start in life.

Despite what she had been led to believe by television shows and teen movies, the first few years of High School were some of the best years of her life. Tessa threw herself into a multitude of activities that High School offered her, including the drama club, the orchestra, choir, badminton and the school newspaper. While she certainly wasn’t considered ‘popular’ at school, Tess had a wide circle of friends and acquaintances. In fact, High School was a place where she made some of the greatest memories of her life, but come her final year, it was also a place where she was haunted by some of her worst.

On the January 17th of Tessa’s senior year of high school, a shooting took place in Westville High School. For two hours Tessa locked herself in a supply cupboard, her head between her knees as she tried to stay silent despite the screams of horror from the corridor. Eighteen students were caught in the crossfire, two of which were Tessa’s best friends. Bouquets of flowers, laminated photographs, Teddy Bears in cling-film bags attached to balloons littered the streets as families and friends came to pay tribute to the eighteen students withered before they had a chance to bloom.

It took two months of therapy before Tessa could return to school. Some of the survivors could never return due to the horrors that their eyes had laid witness to. Sometimes Tessa felt like a part of her had died with the friends that were stolen from her too soon, but one thought kept her going through: she had survived, she was alive and breathing, and she could not afford to loose a second of the precious time she had been granted on this earth. Despite the nightmares that continued to haunt her each night, Tessa found in the aftermath of the disaster a new sense of motivation. She began applying for scholarships for colleges without her mother’s knowledge, in the hope that her academic success would be enough to carry her through further education. Thankfully, it was, and after three torturous months of waiting Tess was offered an arts scholarship to her dream school, Lockwood University, where she hoped she could finally start to rebuild her life.

THE PRESENT:

Life at university was like a separate world. Students came and went like moths among the whisperings and the tequila and the stars. In this new world, Tessa was exposed for the first time in her life to alcohol, drugs, and the sexual appetites of other students her age – though she politely declined all three. Instead, Tessa threw herself into the vast array of activities in the hope that by distracting herself she could escape the terrible flashbacks that continued to haunt her. An Open Letter to Unreasonable Cybird Haters

I’m sorry for submitting something like this to multiple blogs but it had to be said.

You seem to hate Cybird for not delivering the type of translation you want and judging by your posts you want them to google-translate everything? If that’s the translation you want then just keep google-translating all you want off public view and leave them alone, your condescending attitude is not gonna make them happily comply with your selfish and tyrannical threats.

Every sane person knows google translations are crap galore, you claiming otherwise only proves that you’re poorly educated.

Google translate was created by ppl whose main language was English, it never worked well with Asian languages bc of how fundamentally different these languages are - the concept of time, place, environment… Google translate will not tell you nuances or double meanings of words - it will pick the first option available bc it’s just a machine. (btw this is why most ppl don’t know that daku means both ‘to hug’ and ‘to sleep with’)

Your hate is not based on facts - it‘s a product of your delusions which are a result of fundamentally wrong machine translations.

By posting an opinion that goes against what most people think (yes, most ppl don’t hate Cybird! otherwise Cybird would be out of business?) you naturally invite people to disagree with you and hiding behind a “loose-translation” and “imma block u” shield is just a silly attempt to make yourself look important and at the same time not take any responsibility for your own words.

The Cybird team knows the language. They can translate without the use of machines. They definitely understand that most references elude the Western fandom. How many people did not even know that “nin nin” was a Japanese reference? You had to make a post saying “nin nin” was also mentioned in the Japanese version. That obviously means you didn’t even know what the reference is from. Isn’t it ridiculous that you complain the game doesn’t make use of all its Japanese references, and instead adapts it to Western ones but you don’t even know a Japanese reference when you see one? This is why some parts are changed to make sure everyone understands and enjoys a scene.

Please be a little more respectful to people who know their work. Unless you have the capacity to translate and understand the language at their level, please sit down and keep your accusations of accuracy to yourself.

as for cybird’s translations / localization, it goes through hiroto because he’s the localization manager (as mentioned in his interview), so any hurtful words directed at his team would also go to him. the en team members are given the direction they’re supposed to take when doing the localization, so blaming just one or two people from the team is a bit off. the manager always has the final say, right?

i’ve posted translations for ikesen, midcin, and even ikerev. sometimes they’re the same, sometimes they’re not. i’ve seen the differences and it’s not really that big of a deal for me. sometimes it adds more flavor to a less exciting scene. i’ve posted the ikesen jp prologue and tbh, the en version is a lot more exciting when it came to how it was worded. i don’t agree with every change in the routes but i do believe it’s not something horrible– plus other people enjoy it, so i shouldn’t ruin it for them.

it’s not just definitions we need to know when translating, there’s sentence structure, word order, tone, etc. if you really didn’t study the language or learn the basics, you’re bound to make very inaccurate guesslations. as the anon said, people who rely on machine translations instead of using actual dictionaries and learning to read it on their own might interpret things incorrectly so it’s not wise to get too riled up.

anyway, let’s not tell people off, call them out, cuss at them, or say they’re doing a bad job unless we qualify to do the job ourselves / pass the needed proficiency tests to get the job. there’s always a nicer way to provide feedback! (^ ^*)✩

i guess i should make a journal for the past few days. as good a time as any. as AMY. heh. cuz shes super good and amazing. heh.

uh...... lessee.... for the two days after the last journal i just. hung out at the house while silly worked. i managed to not keep her in bed and make her late the second day. hung out a lot, watched more adventure time, worked on my tumblr filter script (lie. i judt ran it on my main. 200 posts / day is a bitchhhh) , played a good amount of ds3 (to pointof tetris effect at a couple points the nexg few days)

also did some like. helpful tasks. washed some dishes (undone quicklu, but. eh). not enough, mot as much as i shouldve, but... i tried i guess.

alao we've like. said the same thing at the dame time a Lot while ive been here and its like. nice. its really nice. same wavelength! i feel so close go her.

oh! alxo night before last we went grocery shoping. got food for prolly enoygh for the two weeks, but i guess we'll see. also a cheesecake! it was.... echausting. hily fuck it was exhaysting. jesus. the store was big and it took like 3 hours and $200 to get everything but. we did itttt.

we both mentionef that like. it felt nice to like. have a full fridge 2gether. cuz. it feels like were gonna have a futjre togetjer? u know. like that is. i love her a lot and it feels good for this to feel like a home for a little while. we hope that it can be so in tbe future.

so YESTERDAY she finally FINALLY taught me how to play magic the gathering. it was. a long time coming. but she brought me into the store and like. sat me down w some regulars and had me play commander. i played moooostly her snake deck, so like.that was fun!! i kept talki g about how i woulda gotten lorescale Coatl up to 39/39 and flying, had i like. gotten q more turn. but on that game D was running a mill deck that was. extremely long to play (that game took like ~>2 hours ugh), and was very bery annoying, so i didnt get to actually do that.

but it was fun! part of me wants to blog everything, but i dont think i will.

im glad to be able to use silly's decks, bc i dont think i want to make my own. im considering making a cheap angel deck or smth, but we'll see if yhat actually ends up happening.

i also met her girlfriend Iz, who is sweet. i played magic w her fkr a while, which was fun! she was runni g an annoying mono black deck (i kkow all these... these Terms and Words now, its incredible...)

shes sweet and i think i like her. dunno if enough to date yet (which makes me Partially regret flirting w her so much in the groupchat but. hey)

talked w her some, mostly about magic, hung out while silly closed the store, pet her cat, silly discovered that cyddling w TWO girlfriends is very nice (not rhat id know ;;;;;;;), was good times. i dont think im as comfy w izzy physically yet as i may have implied in messages, which hopefully wull be rectified by the message i just sent her (my initial physical comfort with people varies, it depends very much on the person)

skip forward, me and silly make a pizza at home cuz were fuckin tired, she admonishes me for not eating for uh... like 11 hours or smth (that mornings bagel was VERY good tho omg), but adderall, so like... meh.

uh... i dont think anything else on yesterday...

today! we waaamted to go to the store at like. 2. but in actuality got there at like! 330.

i went back to sleep cuz im a losenerd, and she. made this breakfast casserole thing. which hse put into a bagel abd brought to me bc i guess shes the best person on the entire earth oh my GOD. jesus

skip... apparently she knows maximum the hormone and doesnt like them very much... fair fair. (cause for xeath)

came to the store agai. tofay. it was fun and good. iz didnt come in today, do played some more with regulars. played w what is apparently called a blink deck, which revolvea arounf exiling cards then immediately bringing them back, to capitalize on "when this enters battlefield, do smth" cards. neat!

i DID actually manage to win today!!! the victory was. literally handed to me, but like. thats fine! i was playing silly's uhhh... elintor the masked? idr her name :( the mask planewalker! deck, which. i had SO much land, most of wh8ch was enchanfed. meaning it could be tapped then untapped w eljntor's thing, then tapped again for DOUBLE MANA. i mean. i had like 9/turn even b4 that but. BUT. i also had. i think i drew 3 creatures total. bit anyway. i had the white card that gave me a life whenever a creature was put on tge board (and also, w another enchantment, made all non-me creagurss and enchantments enter the board tapped, so. nya). so... rob had a card what dealt one damGe to all other players whenevr he puta. creature on the board. then he played united forces, which lets each player commit X mana to create X 1/1 soldier tokens on all players' boards. so. we made 28 white soldier tokens on everyones board. this killed perry, ans gave me, uh. 56 life (84 - 28). i then attacked ron for 28 w the soldiers, and drew sacred mesa, which lets me sacrifice 2 mana (1 any color, 1 white, but i had so many cards that said "this land can instead be tapped for 2 of any color, so like. ueah) to create a 1/1 flying pegasus token. so i. ended the game w 44 white 1/1 tokens. goblins get fucked.attack w my ssoldiers cuz his were tapped, so brought him down to 7 life. i didng catch what he did w the enchantment, but i think he said he like. put a copy of every creature on my side of the board onto his board, and then. cipying that enchantment 3 times. so. holy FUCK. wow. BUT those all came in tapped and i had 18 flying yokens, so. i still won! yay!!!! i won a game of magic!!!!!

silly would come by every so often and like. look over my dhoulder and say "oh that was dumb whyd u use fabricate for thay" which is fair. but also god i love her. by the end of the night it was just. me and her, rob and the two regulars i started out llaying w yestwrday. theyre sweet, i like them. theyre married. the dude calls me honey smtimes, which is. kinda weird? dunno how i feel about that. i guess fine. its gender-nice, but still a lil uncomfy. otherwise i like em fien, though. but they talked abouy moving into sillys apt. so thats cool!! better than her current (awful, terrible, lazy / horrifically depressed / manchild roomate, who doesnt clean ever) roomate. i was reading the monster of the week gamebook thruout, which i... bought, for some reason. idk. oh also i wanna make a fallen angel divine, because im... predictableeee. also a conspiracy thworist whos just a trans woman w way too much time and really weird hobbies (throwing knices, butterfly knife, net friends, etc). also a spooky. i speny like. 3 hours reading thr7 the monster of the week book while ppl played magic around me. i kinda wish i hadnt bought it, but hey! its neat c:

oh, also i didnt take adderall today. i dont think it went toooo bad, i think i like. was meaner and less thohghtful with what i said, but like. i guess thats better than feared. i took a caffeine pill (200mg) at ariund 10 which is. prolly why im wide awake right now. i regret doing that, sincr from what shes said tmos gonna be big)

she says we gotta be at her moms by 4, for reasons she WONT TELL ME. bit she says its part of one of her plans, i ASSUME the romantic one? im kind of afraid that ill like. no-sell it unwillingly because im abroke and soulless human being, but uh. i guess rhats thw risks we take to be alive :shrug: im excited. were also going to a shop (diff one) tmo, which im Quite excited for, as ive only been in similar shops by accident before. also doing laundry!!! which is important ^_^

something the notes of that post is rly laying bare to me is the extent to which people (incl myself) feel that if soemthing is sold in a store and anyone can buy it its basically safe as long as u dont drink it. and if two things are for basically the same purpose (nebulously defined as "cleaning") u can combine them to make a double strength cleaner. the number of stories about coworkers/aunts/etc that habitually combine cleaning products regardless of potential danger is like.... obviously the tiktok is a special kind of bullshit but i think its really hard to convince ppl about chemical safety because we dont feel like we are using "chemicals" (special bubbling liquid in tubes) we are using "cleaning products" (safe to use in ur home).

it also makes me think about the backlash against "harsh chemicals" in cleaning products that COULD be really positive and healthy but generally is just. other chemicals that are less effective or less common. plus the "chemical" fear mongering is like. thats how u get antivaxxers who think vaccines inject 50 mg pure mercury into every baby. interesting how theres more trust, broadly, in consumer chemicals than in medical chemicals. hmm.

there are ppl arguing this is like. "kids these days dont get taught xyz" but i really dont think this is an age thing considering lots of ppl commenting this are fairly young and lots of anecdotes are specifically about older/adult ppl. i dont think this is an "american" thing either; i think thats just basic "usa are stupid" shit that doesnt help anyone. hate to be That Guy but i think a lot of this just comes down to like. (marketing influenced) our schema. a lower stakes version of this concept being that dentists actually dont recommend rinsing after brushing ur teeth! but that feels to me and many other ppl "unintuitive" because ur "supposed to" rinse after putting "soap" on things... but toothpaste isnt soap! but its all "cleaning product" etc...

idk i think stuff like this is genuinely high stakes as 1) u could get seriously hurt POTENTIALLY killed (if ur rlllly non careful) by mixing household cleaners and 2) the reasoning as to why ppl do this is troubling to me (again, as someone who recognises these thought patterns in myself). like how do we talk about this in a helpful way that doesnt come down to "stupid ppl deserve death" that also takes science denialism and conspiracy theory seriously! again, people absolutely will say things like "i cant mix two cleaners in my own home but im supposed to take a medication with chemicals i cant pronounce in it?!?!?!" or as we saw not too long ago... literally use bleach as a "medicine". but like. its hard for me to see the foolish grocery store coworker mixing chemicals and breathing fumes every night as deserving scorn or mockery; after all, "if they werent safe they wouldnt be allowed to sell them!"

i guess its the basic assumption that the world works in the way u think it does. the problem arises when u are given new information and shut it out/deny it. and i think this is a huuuuuge issue... under capitalism. bam!! got there!! companies can sell whatever and do whatever as long as they put a warning label, therefore shifting the responsibility and blame to consumers. but the average consumer has a level of trust in the products they buy that has never been born out. the consumer disregards/misunderstands/assumes things about the warning label and gets themselves or someone else hurt... thats not the company's fault for selling and marketing bleach as a purifying and cleansing necessity. hmm (obviously if u mix chemicals it really is on u... i just think its worth thinking about)

who apologizes first? in what way? is it hard for either of them to apologize? seeing as ryan’s generally the one in the wrong,,,,,, he’s the one who Should be apologizing first. a lot of the time tho, he leaves it up to david or he apologizes w/o Explicitly apologizing b/c he has trouble owning up to being a shithead. ryan just gets softer and more affectionate w him, tries to do sth to make it up to him. a lot of “pls i didn’t mean it”” / “”forget abt it”” / “i love u”””.

which one has more insecurities? over what? david. probably abt whether or not he’s actually done sth wrong to warrant being treated poorly.

who gets more riled up? do they show their anger? nnnnn. it would depend on the context?? both of them are capable of showing their anger, lmao.

how do they hide their pain when they’re upset? do they try to hide their pain? on the rare occasion that ryan is not the one in the wrong he’s verbally v quiet abt being upset. he p much goes silent and gets v tense and untouchy. it takes a while for him to rly find the right words to be like “hey this upset me”” b/c on some lvl he’s always gonna feel like he deserves it.

do they think about each other a lot? does it affect their performance/schoolwork? in the earlier days of their relationship ryan was so bad at work, especially if they had plans for after he was off. he was constantly checking his phone and sending not-so-sneaky texts. catch him zoning out thinking abt him too. if david ever surprised him at work he always came back late from his break, lmao. he was bad in other ways when shit started going downhill in that he was absent and cold and quick to snap at anyone who breathed in his direction.

if one of them were to come back after a long time, who would come to who? would it go well? would the other person take them back? don’t think either of them would actively seek the other out?? i.e their reconnection would have to come as a coincidence. this goes abt as well as u would expect. both of them are some part willing to take each other back but,,,,, there’s def some hesitation there. ryan doesn’t trust himself to not fuck up all over again and sometimes it’s like he’s watching himself frm the outside. he keeps slipping up and making moves and trying to get david into bed but he always ditches before they have a chance to get Too Deep into feelings. eventually he ends up spilling his guts ofc (“””i’m still so fuckign in love w u u have no fucking idea”””) and they eventually bite the bullet and decide to try again. how well That goes is up for debate.

Rant af I'm sorry

Yunno I don’t know what my dads problem is with my boyfriend. He doesn’t like him, at all. And I honestly have no idea why. Maybe it’s because this is the only relationship he’s seen me in? I’m not sure But if my dad could have seen all my past relationships he’d understand why B is probably the only one I could ever want to be with. There were some major people who impacted my life in negative ways and I’m still recovering from them. I will point out the major ones First there was David. He tried to kill me once, and manipulated me and made my self esteem plummet. (Grade 3-7) Yes, I know, 3rd through 7th grade and he tried to KILL you? Are you over exaggerating? No I’m not lol. Then there was Devin. He was the first boy to cheat on me. Which made my self esteem plummet even further. He also was the first boy to treat me… like I wasn’t a person I guess?? I don’t know how to describe that one but it made me feel very inferior. (Grade 6) young I know but shoosh this shit can happen at any age if you let it happen. Then there was Max. We never actually dated, but he is still very important because oh boy I crushed on this boy HARD from 8th to 10th grade. He and I had a thing going on in 8th grade but never quite did anything about it which only made me like him more. Then 9th grade came along and we only got closer but still didn’t quite do anything. (I also had a boyfriend at that time that I’ll get to in JUST a second) Finally 10th grade came along and I FINALLY made a move, only to get shot down, HARD. That was partly my fault I suppose for being too scared to tell him my feelings earlier than that. But still, ouch ouch that hurt me a lot. Jacob, the boyfriend mentioned just a second ago, this was a long distance relationship. He was a couple years older than me and I had never met him in person, I dated him because I was extremely lonely. This lasted almost a year, but not quite. It started out really fun because I could lowkey flirt with Max but still have someone to go home to and text and get the feelings of love that Max didn’t give me, I know I know that’s borderline cheating but hey I was in 9th grade and I was stupid in love with Max and it was just a messy time in my life and Ive obviously learned from it and cheating is disgusting ugh……. ihatemyselfAAAAnyways, as the months rolled by, things slowly went downhill with this Jacob kid. He just was a downer. We both were depressed and got even sadder when we realized we couldn’t meet for a long time blah blah you get the point everything was a mess and he made me extremely unhappy, that was a very toxic relationship and I’m glad nothing ever became of it. I haven’t talked to him in almost a year, I hope he’s doing well. Also in 10th grade I developed this crush on this boy named Anthony and he was a dorky kind of cute, tall and scrawny but still muscly, I dug it. I flat out told him I liked him bc I didn’t want another Max situation and he seemed interested at first until he told one of his friends that doubled as my friend that he wasn’t interested so I obviously found out and got shot down again. Ouch! When that didn’t happen I started talking to a good friend I also met over the internet named Gavin and wowie did this boy make me feel wanted and loved. I had a brief thing with him previously but it never followed through, due to the fact that he was a dickbag and cheated on me and blamed it on some personality disorder where he needed more than one girlfriend to be satisfied *cough* bullshit *cough* but anyways, I tried it with him again the summer going into 11th grade c he was sooooooo sorry and loved me soooo much and wanted to marry me (gag!) anyways, things were good for a while but then he slowly stopped talking to me and cheated again and all this other shit and as my confidence in myself slowly went down the garbage disposal as it had been since like 4th grade, I finally told myself enough is enough and told him I was done with him. I told myself I was done with boys until the right one came along and treated me right. As a junior at a new school with no friends, I assumed it would take until junior year of COLLEGE to even consider boys again (besides possibly sleeping around once I got too tired of being a virgin kek) But yunno, life throws unexpected things at you. I remember the night so clearly. I went to bed finally content with being alone, not having to worry about any boy cheating on me or making me feel bad or putting me down constantly. Then, wouldn’t you know it, the NEXT FUCKIN DAY, this super duper cute boy I had seen a few times around school walked into my first period photography class. And I thought to myself “fuck.” Bc I immediately knew something would happen between us. This boy was he perfect mix of goofy, nerdy, and cute as fuck, with a hint of holy shit you’re SEXY. Exactly my type. Tall, dark, and handsome (a spongebob reference has never been more relatable) ((besides maybe “i’m surrounded my idiots”)) ANNYYYWAYS Me and this kid start talking bc I grew a pussy (not balls bc balls are sensitive and vaginas take a pounding) and gave the kid my Snapchat. That same day I reaaallly wanted a chance to talk to him so I posted a pic on my story of me and my dog havin’ a blast (rip Lily u will be missed ily thank you for being the reason the loml messaged me for the first time) anywho, HE MESSAGED ME FIRST AND WE STARTED TALKING AND SHIT bc he thought my dog was cute af (which she was!!!!) and we kept talking and talking and found we had so much in common and finallyyyy we admitted to each other we liked each other and started dating soon after and I’m spare you all the mushy details of how that came to be. Back to the reason why I started writing this little rant/story in the first place. My dad borderline hates the guy. But what my dad doesn’t understand (which is a lot but these next few sentences are important) Every single relationship I’ve had, was with a guy who has done nothing but lead me on, cheat on me, or abuse me (both physically (which only happened twice thank god) and mentally (which happened SO MUCH OH MY GOD it’s so much harder to catch that than actually getting physically abused) Yet, my current boyfriend…. we’re gonna call him B, bc his name is unique and I don’t want people knowing who I am if this ever gets read by someone who knows me and cares enough to read though all of this. B is the most beautiful person I have ever met, inside and out. He makes me feel important. He makes every day a blessing. When I first moved in with my dad in the beginning of 11th grade, I was a complete shut in. I hardly ever left my room besides to eat and bathe. After I met B, I started opening up and spending time with the family, and I made such amazing friends at school that I would have never talked to if it weren’t for him. B makes everything exciting. Of course we have had our fair share of bumps in the road, but ever healthy relationship does. And yunno what else healthy relationships do? They talked them through and fix the problems!!! B has made it so clear to me that I am worth all of the shit that goes on sometimes, and believe me I can be crazy so that is saying something. And oh boy is he a package deal too. He’s constantly got something going on, he’s quite frankly an idiot sometimes. But hey, he’s my idiot! I’ve never woken up and been happy about being alive since I was like 10, until B came around. B completely flipped my view of the world around. We tell each other this thing all the time because weird kinda opposites when it comes to certain things. He looks like the moon, but is the sun. And I look like the sun, but am the moon. He has dark hair and he’s got olive skin (very Italian looking) looking like a human version of the moon. But he has this optimistic view on life, the personality of the sun. Then there’s me; golden brown hair with fair skin, I look like the sun. But I’m kinda a pessimist, and I also am quite the night owl (he definitely isn’t!) personality of the moon. That might not make sense to you, but it does to us. I’m getting side tracked. The whole fuckin point is, I hadn’t felt true happiness since I was 10 until I met this guy. My dad says we aren’t going to last. My dad barely even lets me see him outside of school once a week, and when he does let me he always gives this disapproving scowl and scoff when I ask to see my boyfriend (who I have been with for well over a year now) once a week. Oh and by the way, he LIVES with his girlfriend who he’s only been dating a few more months than B and I have been. I wonder what he’d feel like if the roles were reversed. Yunno? Like he gets to see his gf every day and sleep next to her ever night, but the moment I want to see B, I get a scowl and a reluctant confirmation that I can see him on the day I asked to see him on. I’m sorry for all this rant and I know it’s probably all over the place but I just really really had to get it out because I don’t know why my dad is so unhappy with me being with a guy who makes me so happy. It’s not like B is a delinquent. He has two jobs (one is a photography business, he does really well with it actually he shoots for weddings and shit he’s an amazing photographer ((he only took the photography class at my school for the credit and to laugh at how low quality everything was at the school and how badly they taught it))) and he’s polite and respectful. My father truly has no reason to not like him, he has no idea how badly I’ve been treated up until I met B. B treats me better than anyone ever has, including my dad. Everyone else in my family loves him! Not nearly as much as I love the son of a bitch tho. I truly grew up from 3rd grade on getting belittled and cheated on and made to feel terrible, and if my dad knew that or understood it, maybe he wouldn’t hate the boy that made me happy to be alive again. Free Speech Activists Deplatform Speaker From Free Speech Event - Not The Onion

This post could alternatively be titled: *Anti Free Speech Regressive SJWs Silence Dissenting Thinker At FREE SPEECH EVENT* The irony here is really something. Gad Saad & Jordan Peterson were on a Free Speech panel last weekend, (at an event that was previously cancelled) where this time they actually justified having someone uninvited, de-platformed even, from a SACRED... 'FREE SPEECH EVENT'. I mean you know these guys right? (Please note there were two other people on stage who I don't really know much about so I will keep this post about my faves, JBP and The Gadfather, yes he really calls himself that)

I mean ...really....this is pretty much ALL they talk about.

In a hilariously hypocritical twist these Politically Correct Regressives were trying to justify silencing a 'different viewpoint' just last weekend.

Nevermind the person they uninvited was probably well worth uninviting (in my cucked leftist opinion) as she was the Rebel Media 'Journalist' Faith Goldy who appeared on the Neo Nazi Daily Stormer affiliated Podcast after Charlottesville. But what do I know, I'm not the one constantly advocating for & promoting alt right/light figures. It's especially rich coming from them because Saad has on more than one occasion promoted White Genociders such as this person (who also happens to be a holocaust denier, suprise surprise):

How do people with such associations and endorsements think they get off for disinviting someone for associating with better known Nazis/White Nationalists? Speaking of 'guilt by association', you'll never guess what Gad had to say about Faith Goldy:

After basically begging for Infowars-Paul's approval Gad makes a weak joke about how people want to punish him for associating with people like PJW who does, by the way, also spout white genocide stuff. He had to make the joke himself you see because no one was that outraged in that moment, so he has to kind of perform the outrage to fulfill his desire for victimhood.

Here, once again Gad disapproves of 'guilt by association' ....when it's applied to him.

Now, let's take a look at their explanation for deplatforming Goldy,

First point I'd like to make is, that it's disturbing how softly they all tiptoe around someone they themselves just mentioned was on a Neo-Nazi affiliated Podcast after the Charlottesville tragedy. None of the panelists are able to disavow her.

Instead it goes something like this;

Peterson: I know Faith, I don’t believe that she’s a reprehensible person (after knowing of and saying he watched her appearance on a Daily Stormer related show, which he himself didn't find acceptable to the point that he's having to justify to a full room why he, the free speech hero is de-platforming someone.)

Peterson: ....She was associating with people who’s views she should have questioned. (Well, that's putting it mildly, Dr P.)

Peterson goes on to talk about how she should have asked some hard questions but then immediately backtracks and starts making excuses for why she didn’t challenge any views on the nazi podcast. You know who else went on a nazi podcast and didn't ask any really tough questions right? Jordan Peterson himself. In fact he's criticizing, leftist, postmodernists, "neo-marxists" in most of that conversation and even claims to the *neo-Nazi woman* he's conversing with that "their aim is to shake the foundations of western civilization to the core" - just imagine sitting with a Nazi and dumping on leftists as destroying western civilization, then going on to deplatform someone else for appearing on a nazi podcast while not asking tough questions. The hypocrisy is astounding.

Now back to the video where he's explaining why they deplatformed Faith Goldy:

Peterson: ....its more difficult than you might think when you’re facing people , even if u don’t believe them, to be rude enough to challenge them.

Just take a minute to let that sink in… JBP who is furious with liberals, postmodernists and SJWs all the time, thinks its hard to be rude enough to challenge ppl on a nazi podcast.

The panelists go on to blame it on the fact that she’s a journalist and that she didn’t do her job as a journalist…lol

...as they sit next to Gad Saad who’s done a glossy softball interview with several white genociders and even a holocaust denier.

Gad says in his explanation to the audience, “…there is also a pragmatism right, you may decide you’re all for freedom of speech BUTTTTT [emphasis mine] that doesn’t mean that you invite to the dinner party someone who’s views you don’t agree with… (isn't this pretty much what people's argument has been against shutting you and your selective free-speech friends down in the past?)

And then he immediately softens the blow by jumping to “I..I’m not saying that was the case with Goldy” [Yeah heaven forbid Gad, that you do the decent thing and come out against her views openly, without hesitation, at the first go after knowing she went on Daily Stormer related media for a friendly conversation.]

You didn't just personally disassociate from her, you wanted her de-platformed from a free speech event.

And here's Jordan, unable to stand for his own actions...."I didn't say we were correct". Let's face it, these guys were a mess. Maybe now they will think about why it is that people don't want to associate with them, for 'pragmatic' reasons... or with Milo.

Anyway, their own rightwing fans weren't having it:

And then of course there were the mutual fans, upset that there was any tension between these lovely people at all.

Gad soon released another video on his channel explaining his side of what went down, excuses, excuses. By this time he'd been experiencing some hate from Daily Stormer-friendly Faith Goldy's fans so he wasn't quite as soft, but note that this change didn't come from principle, it came from Faith Goldy's fans personally attacking Gad with vile, unacceptable anti-Semitic comments. The fact she went on Daily Stormer related media still had him tiptoeing around whether he disagreed with her views or what kind of person she is.

The Youtube comments on his video ranged from his disheartened anti-sjw fans depicting him as a buzzword using SJW to being just disgustingly bigoted.

Gad shared some of these anti semitic comments on Twitter and they truly were horrific.

Seeing the corner he'd backed himself into by palling around with and sucking up to white genociders, white nationalists, holocaust deniers and general alt lite/right figures, made me feel quite sad for the man who had in the past instigated pile-ons on me, and tweeted angrily about me for days for just pointing out his evident shady associations...."for pragmatic reasons", you know.

On twitter people pointed this out to him repeatedly. I wonder how that made him feel...I wonder if he actually gave it some thought, the fact that he was propping up and associating with people who would drop him the second he stopped being useful to them.

No matter how hard he panders...Gad won't ever be welcome in the ethnostate as a Jewish immigrant from the Middle East. I sincerely hope he thinks about the consequences of his actions in light of this incident.

Gad's own views about Muslim Refugees aren't so non-bigoted either, maybe some self-reflection can happen after this?

He views 25K refugees being allowed into Canada as 'collective suicide' - especially strange coming from someone who has describes himself as a refugee.

Because you know....refugees = automatic anti-Semite, cuz Muslim. That's not bigoted at all...its interesting that his anger was directed always at refugees for potential anti-semitism, but never once directed at the many far right figures he's promoted.

I wonder how he's feeling about "right-wing extremists" right about now. It's in quotes because...you know...right wing extremism is not a real thing, right?

Will Gad and Peterson reflect on their own associations and others wanting to 'pragmatically disassociate' from their types of viewpoints now? Or will they go on as if none of this happened and they are still the Free Speech Warriors they claim to be?

Hopefully people will start to see through their many hypocrisies and double standards, but maybe that's a lot to ask of alt-right/lite friendly audiences. I mean some of these fans willingly refer to themselves as "Gadfellas" and make religious artwork for Peterson....which he tweets unironically of course.

Totally normal Rational Skepticism.
