i keep seeing some language headcanons for warriors in your asks and it's finally made me wanna reveal my own headcanon about it..

im kinda going off of canon BUT i heavily believe/headcanon warriors is multilingual. he is the language MASTER. i mean, being from hyrule warriors the game deals A LOT with time travel and gates and other eras and whatnot so, i like to think that during the war, warriors would occasionally study all the different sorts of languages he came across in the different eras he, or others had explored.

and this also moves into LU too as i also believe that during that short time frame between HW and LU, he had gained much more knowledge on all the different types of languages and all the different variations of hylian as well. If a member of the chain is having a hard time deciphering something, warriors is always there to help figure out what is going on.

need help writing in another language? warriors has you covered.

need help speaking to locals but don't know how to communicate correctly? no problem, warriors will waste no time to step in and provide assistance.

need help finding out what some odd signs and carved messages say? boom, warriors is already analylizing it for you.

i just absolutely go crazy for the idea that he knows a whole bunch of languages and can easily speak them in so many different ways. it's definitely a big help for the chain and sometimes he will even flex that talent on some of the links as a joke lmao

I HAVE THIS SAME HEADCANON. I think Legend also knows a lot of languages and he and Wars kinda ‘compete’ with each other and won’t reveal the exact number of languages they know, but whenever it comes up they try to see if one of them knows a language the other doesn’t

The boys are so nice to me! All of them. Well as nice as Legend and Warriors can be, i guess. I got to know Warriors better by the time and he isn't that mistrusting diva anymore. Legend on the other hand kinda refuses to even seem nice. :(

Wind, Hyrule and Four are really cool! They are so funny and nice! Hyrule even can do a bit of magic and Wind can control the winds with a magical stick. Taya and Teal like them too! Wild is completly crazy. But cool crazy. :D He can make fire with his hands when he rubbes two sticks together. I didn't even know that's possible! And he makes delicious stuff! He kinda reminded me at you buddy. But when he wanted to teach me how to make fire, Twilight came and stopped him :( Twilight is nice too. But a bit overcareful. He always watches Wild the most. But Twilight is probably the strongest of all! He can lift me and Sky together :D and if he wants, Wind on his back too.

Oh! How could i forget Sky? We was the first one to talk to me. And he is amazing and so kind! He seems like hugging everything he meets. (His hugs are fluffy btw) Skys weapon is a bit odd. It feels like i know it but i don't know why. That feeling is there since i met them. It's strange. Oh, where i just wrote about it, there is also Time. The leader. A really nice guy. It seems like he trusted me from the beginning. Why? No clue, my dude! (How Wind says) But im not the only one that thinks he's odd... Taya asked me today if we know Time somehow. I really don't know. His voice, his look, his taste of music, the markings on his face. It all somehow playes together before it vanishes infront of my eyes again. Anyway. I hope you can meet them soon. See ya!

Horror Kid was very proud on that long letter. Not worrying if his his friend can even read this, he gave it ti Tael. He would deliver it safely. Usually both of them had a fairy, but Horror Kid just wanted to go for a small walk with his fairy friends, when the monster attacked him out of the blue. Today in the morning the heroes even killed it. It had had strange black blood and was unusually big and aggressive.

Horror Kid could do nothing to help them. He never was a good fighter. And everytime he tried, some of his friends got hurt. So now he better distanced himself.

But Woods were save for now. And Horror Kid finally could show his friend to the others. He maybe had to write another letter to tell him more cool stuff he did with his new friends. When he realized that his friend probably wasn't even able to read the letter he wrote before. Horror Kid just taught him how to read. Well, to read his own form of language. The Hylian signs were way more difficult and Horror Kid couldn't write or read them himself. So he just developed a new kind of writing.

His friend was very weak, but he got better by the time. And got more to know about the world. They really got to know each other shortly after... after the moon... Well that was a diffrent story now. At the start, there were a few complications but Link had still forgiven Horror Kid after all he had done. So he could forgive his friend.

He missed him so much. He hadn't seen Link for a damn long time. And Horror Kid could neber find him. Nowhere. He often wished he could someday introduce him to his new friend.

Horror Kid and Taya were just with Warriors and Hyrule, when Tael came back. "He's fine. And he really whats to meet 'em."

Before he could thank Tael, Hyrule spoke up in fae. "Who are you talking about Tael?"

Tael answered with a fairy grin. "I see your fae got better. That's cool. We're talking about a friend of us."

Warriors looked at Hyrule a bit jealous. "Geez, 'Rule. I wish i could speak fae so fluent. Or even understand it."

"Thanks! Time practised with me a bit. The fae in his Hyrule is a bit diffrent to mine. But i still don't get how he can speak it so fluent." The boy named after the country answered thinking.

"Didn't know the Old Man could even speak it." He shook his head with a grin. "Well, there're a lot of unsolved mysteries about Time."

Speaking of fae, Link came to his mind. "Oh, i know someone who can speak fae too. He's my best friend. But i havn't seen him for a long time. Someday i will see him again. And then i will show him my new friend." He said putting on his skull mask.

Warriors chuckled. "Hah, i hope not another fairy, or i'll drive crazy if i have to hear more of that ringing sounds. Proxi was enough." He said crossing his arms.

Hyrule looked at him. "Wait, yeah you had a fairy too right? Hie could ya understand her without fae?" He said with a smug face.

"Never needed to. Proxi always spoke Hylian." He waved his hand.

"Wait, really?"

"Yeah. Kinda annoying anyways. But that still doesn't answer my question. Who is your 'new friend'?" He said with his sapphire blue eyes on Horror Kid.

"He's not a fairy. And he's bad at fae too. Languages are not his strongest part in general. But it sounds funny when he speaks. I'm trying my best teaching him the language and everything." Horror Kid told them. He was very proud on himself right now.

Hyrule seemed very interested in his friend. "You're teaching him? I honestly would have never guessed. He got a name?"

"Yeah... but i guess he doesn't like it very much." The masked forest spirit looked to the ground. "He kinda had a bad past and wasn't really nice at first but a friend of mine once still forgave me after all i did to him. So i thought i can forgive my new freind too." He said a bit sad having a flashback from all the terrible things he did to Link back then. His 'new' friend was not that new but he always begged Horror Kid not to use his name everywhere else than at home with him.

And he promised him that he would never use the name 'Majora' next to others.

THANK YOU SO MUCH ANON FOR SO MANY KIND WORDS……… I LOVE YOU AND YOU MADE MY WHOLE WEEK THANK YOU LOTS!!!aAAA im so happy you like my headcanons asdfghj,, i was a little nervous to share them at first so it really means a lot!! to elaborate on the ones you asked about though;Time: - first about his Goron tattoos: you know how the Gorons in OoT have those markings on their shoulders? it’s like that, he has one on each shoulder and they’re basically like a physical representation of his oath of brotherhood with the Gorons. (I headcanon that it’s a tradition in Goron culture to get those when you come of age, there’s this whole ceremony where the birthday boy swears to uphold brotherhood and everything) here’s a quick example of what i mean;

 - the whole thing about him being Zelda’s brother is a headcanon me and a buddy of mine stumbled across some years ago and build on because we liked the idea! i don’t remember exactly what the reason they were split up was(i think it was something about the children being illegitimate because the king weren’t married to his mistress or something but he still wanted an heir?? idk) but i like to think that’s the reason why Zelda felt this immediate bond with him instead of it just being because she’s a dumbass,, plus i like sibling-like bonds in stories better than the classic princess and her hero type of thing so it’s a fun way to spice things up! (they’re also the only two blonde hylians in the game as far as i remember?? don’t quote me on that but it just adds fuel to my headcanon fire lmao)

Warrior: - about Warrior and his muteness: Yes!! he uses sign language now and out of the group Wild is the only one who can translate for him which is,,,, chaotic,, Wild is pretty much never nearby at any time and also hes way too rowdy to be paying attention to my poor boy dfghjghjk,, poor thing just uses general gestures to get the rest of the group to understand at this point (it should be mentioned that Minish knows a bit too but he’s by no means fluent and/or willing to speak to anyone so there’s that)

Design Elements(?):- the ears - thank you!! i think ear size and shape can be a really good way to differentiate different characters, especially when they already look as similar as the Links generally do! i didn’t get to mention this in my other post, but they can actually move their ears just a bit in accordance with their emotions, but the type of their ears make it more or less obvious - for example, Time’s ears are much easier to move around while Sky’s are virtually immovable. here’s a few examples of what i’m talking about;

FULL NAME.  Safilix Link Arwise MEANING. Skyloftians don’t really put meanings to names, usually just naming their children after others in their family they hope they’ll become like. Link is his father’s name, and has always been his middle name. he wears it proudly, often being called by it especially by the older generation. his deadname ( Eugenie ) was the name of his maternal grandmother, who was a knight at the academy. When he changed his name, he chose the name of his maternal grandfather, Safilix, who was an accomplished knight.  NICKNAME. Saf, Link, ‘Lix, Saffy, sleepyhead, master ( by fi ), Chosen Hero, etc GENDER.  Male ( trans ) HEIGHT.   5’ 7" / 173 cm AGE.  17-19 ZODIAC. Leo  SPOKEN LANGUAGES.  Hylian, ancient Hylian ( semi-fluent, still teaching himself / getting taught ), Hylian sign language. in modern / non-Hyrule verses these are replaced with English, Japanese and ASL.

HAIR COLOUR. the Good Brown EYE COLOUR.  some kinda blue SKIN TONE. once fair, now very tan, especially in the arms, hands, and back of the neck. and his face, of course, which is also covered in sun-born freckles. BODY TYPE.  ecto-endomorph. or, as i like to call it, a ruler that you used the curve-ify tool on, and it really wishes you didn’t do that. ACCENT. in his own time, no noticeable accent. he sounds almost alarmingly “normal” in terms of Skyloftian accent. outside his time, his dialect isn’t that out of wack, but his oft-odd enunciation and stuttering give him a recognizable sound. VOICE. as in voice claim? don’t got one lmao. as for the sound of his voice-- normally softer, but confident. if emotional or angry, loud and strong.

DOMINANT HAND.  right-handed POSTURE.  sits up relatively straight when he remembers to, but otherwise leans forward or backward, with his elbows either resting on his knees or some surface behind him. sits straight and with good posture when around people that intimidate him or that he wants to impress. when standing, he usually shifts his weight from foot to foot, but otherwise stands straight. SCARS. many; notably, a couple slashes on various angles of his torso from ghirahim’s duels, a nick on the right side of his chin, and several patches of permanently burned skin from the eldin regions.  TATTOOS.  n/a MOST NOTICEABLE FEATURE(S). he just looks, like... generally weathered. u take one look at his stance and tanned skin / scars and the palms of his hands and the look in his eyes and his reflexes n ur like. hey that guy’s done some stuff. he’s also got pointy ears, so if you’re not hylian those are funky.

HOBBIES TO PASS TIME.   whittling’s a big one, riding his loftwing, making maps / mapping things. sometimes does archery when he’s got the time MENTAL ILLNESSES.  anxiety ( specifically social anxiety and mild generalized anxiety ), im still considering giving him panic disorder so that’s on the backburner for now, PTSD with chronic insomnia bundle package, he’s just full to the brim with anxiety and he needs to sleep PHYSICAL ILLNESSES.  uhhh synesthesia’s gonna go here lmao. saf has mirror-touch synesthesia and can feel what he sees others feel due to crossed wires in his brain, which does affect him physically. seeing others get physically injured hurts his body to an extent as well, and he also copies facial expressions and sometimes movements too. LEFT OR RIGHT BRAINED. a solid mix of both. tends to lean toward the more impulsive artistic side though.
