Humans, on the other hand, do not know the language of ferals in the slightest.

Taking a two second joke clip from Sonic 2 movie and the multiple interactions between Sonic & any other earth animal, I deduce that the same applies on Mobians in the SCU verse.

(It also explains how Sonic communicates with Ozzie and perfectly manages to convince him to play along with his silly games and everything. And I also believe he understood that turtle)

So the Wachowski brothers can speak to animals and it's both baffling to their parents and helpful when Maddie has a pet or animal come in which is too hurt or uncooperative and whatnot, and it allows the three brothers to involve woodland creatures into their shenanigans and pranks.

April 1st is a nightmare in the Wachowski household. And so is October 31st.

The post where I do vague cultural worldbuilding headcanons for Sonic characters??

Sonic and Knuckles are mountain man bros in the sense that they both grew up in the wild raised by animals. They dunk themselves in a river, call themselves clean, and then fistbump about it. They eat fruit right off bushes. Knuckles can find you a damn good tuber in a pinch and Sonic would be able to snatch you a worm if you really wanted it. Knuckles finds it difficult to pick up on mainstream cultural customs but Sonic's always found it easy now that he's older.

Tails and Amy, meanwhile, grew up in towns. These towns had a definite human influence, hence their possession of first and last names, but they still grew up in a Mobian in-group of sorts. They know proper fur/quill care, feel that it's gender non-conforming for a boy to wear clothes and a girl to go without them, and are adept at reading ear/tail gestures. Tails was never really one for any small-town slang but Amy still uses more rural phrasing even now that she lives in a larger city.

Rouge grew up in a large city, so she's more well-versed in cultures other than her own. She's adopted some human rituals because she thinks they're fun, like face masks and shaving some of her body fur. She loves exploring human cuisines because they're "exotic" to her while Mobian cuisine are comfort foods. She's fluent in several different kinds of slang along with the gestures/manners of the different cultures.

Shadow was raised by humans. His mannerisms are unmistakably human. From wearing human-sized shirts around the house, to having a taste for "human" comfort foods, to being completely unable to read ear/tail gestures in conversation, any Mobian is able to peg him as an outsider pretty quickly. While he's absolutely embraced proper quill care, Rouge had to first point out to him that he was doing it wrong- using human shampoo is not going to cut it, hun.

Omega is. . . weird. For the most part, he's predictably alien: what few social customs he's bothered to learn he has to have observed first. Rouge has been a helpful educator on the rare occasion he gives a shit, usually in regards to slang translation to add to his dictionary. He's almost more like Knuckles in the sense that he was isolated and now he's playing catchup. Sometimes, sometimes, though, the assumptions Omega makes will lean more towards human biases. Anyone who values their life knows not to ever point that out to him.

Metal Sonic reads like a robot imitating a human imitating a Mobian. Yes, he can imitate Sonic's gestures, but it's the movement in between that's uncanny. The physicality of his limbs. The weight of each step in his out-of-combat walk cycle. It screams "human". Most of his cultural knowledge, the little that he has, comes from observing Eggman's daily routine. But Eggman is just one human, and an isolated and eccentric one at that. Metal Sonic could recognize a refrigerator but not a washing machine, could recognize a plate and fork but not any other kitchen cookware. His knowledge is piecemeal. His imitations are incomplete. He was designed for combat, nothing more. His unconscious attempts to fill in the gaps are illogical, aren't they?

Silver is permanently locked into a culture called "survival mode". That's a joke, but only mostly. His behaviors more closely match that of someone growing up in extreme poverty. He can't stand to throw stuff away and he has a hypervigilance about danger that someone who grew up in a "bad neighborhood" would understand. Not to mention that any cultural values he has learned are a few hundred years out of date, so his guesses at any customs tend to be slightly off.

Blaze is from a different dimension, which basically reads as just a different culture than the one that's prominent where most of Sonic's friends reside! She actually gets a kick out of sharing her customs and comparing them to everyone else's. She's also from an extremely privileged walk of life, though, and it definitely shows no matter how much research she does to try and be less ignorant about how "normal" life works.

Seeing son1c's Shatter-verse Sonics inspired me so hard. I absolutely had to draw them and make my own.

So allow me to introduce Momentum the Hedgehog! Momentum was born on the faraway Christmas Island where he lived a pretty good life with a few other friendly mobians. However, his happiness was abruptly torn apart when humans arrived on the island. Not the Chaos Council, but arguably something worse.

You see, the Council weren't the only ones who decided to conquer this Shatterspace. There were many other groups of humans looking to start and expand empires. The one that landed on Christmas Island took one look at the mobians there and decided to enslave them.

Now of course, Momentum wasn't going to just submit to these humans. He tried to help his fellow mobians break out, but it didn't end so well. They all got caught and recaptured. Momentum’s human masters punished him for his disobedience, blinding him in one eye, and took precautions to make sure he couldn't escape again.

Eleven years passed and Momentum was broken and beaten down, becoming a shell of his former self. He was sold from master to master. Nothing changed . . . until the day the Chaos Council heard of his existence.

Desperate for a new source of energy and knowing Momentum was an alternate Sonic, they decided to buy him. They intended to have Momentum run and generate power for them with his speed. All was going to plan until Nine figured out that the Council was purchasing a 'secret weapon.'

Can Nine free Momentum? We'll see . . .

If Momentum and Bullet ever met, I think they'd both stay quiet. Neither of them asked for this life. I feel like they'd both feel like the other has a worse life and that they should be grateful for the hand life dealt then, as terrible as it may be. They wouldn’t really interact with each other, especially since Momentum doesn't talk at all.

i like to imagine underground is kinda canon in game verse (but like. Greatly Exaggerated. obviously all that stuff Didnt Really Happen) and that someday it'll come out that sonic ran away from home at a rlly young age and eventually Sonia and Manic find out abt and track him down. the idea isnt super fleshed out yet tho. some stuff is still thhe same, like the prophecy is still a thing and their mom has to give them up for. the. Greater Good? so they were sent to an orphanage. something happens that separates sonia and manic from sonic? maybe they all get adopted but sonic isnt having it and he runs away, or he ran away earlier at the orphanage. he'd b rlly young here, only like. Woof, idk, maybe like 7 or 8 at most? he finds ray and mighty and lives with them for a bit and then he finds uncle chuck and lives there with him, picking up from archie sonic's lore. uncle chuck is related to aleena, but sonic doesnt know. he just figures hedgehogs look similar sometimes.

sonia is rlly mad at sonic for leaving them behind, but she wants to find her mom and hates eggman too, so she trains to fight robots n shit and then tracks down sonic when she's older (idk, 17? idk how much older she is than sonic), taking manic with her. manic is chill. i imagine he was pretty young when sonic left, but since he always had sonia taking care of him it never rlly bothered him that much. they get adopted either by humans or by mobians who live on the continents, which is why they wear clothes and have different styled quills. they run into some of sonic's friends who help them track him down, like they meet uncle chuck and maybe mighty n ray? maybe even like. amy and the chaotix. most Definitely the chaotix, thatd b slay actually.

they find sonic again, eventually. manic is excited when he meets tails, sonia's on edge. tails is Also very confused. sonia hates him for reasons he can understand, but ultimately wasnt his fault, which is conflicting when youre 8 yrs old. manic is silly, but tails didnt expect to have Another sibling, let alone gain two at once, and hes mad sonic didnt tell him abt them. tails kinda figured uncle chuck was it. also manic looks a bit too mischievously at tails inventions and it sets him on edge a little. also tails sees sonia and sonic keep leaving to talk in private and he's mad he isnt included becuz its clearly about something important, which usually means some world-ending disaster is about to happen. i dont rlly have much story from there. they go fight eggman or unlock the. power of the. guitar necklace. and have to find their mom and fulfill the prophecy, etc etc etc. basically its an excuse for me to think abt sonia & manic AND modern sonic & tails at the same time.

Back when you were doing Sally redesigns/concepts, I think I remember you mentioning that you'd want Sally to have a more Sonic-y name if she were in the game-verse. If that's true, what do you think qualifies as a good mobian name?

i think a good mobian name is one that works as a description of the character. it should be related to what they can do (sonic, espio, blaze), or what they look like, usually a color (silver, shadow, rouge, cream) or a prominent feature (knuckles, tails). in other cases, they should be a noun or adjective that simply sounds like the character. charmy sounds fun and little-kidd-ish (the ee sound at the end), vector sounds like a cool mature adult (mathematical concept; he's the only adult aside from vanilla, as when he was created 20 was the age of adulthood in japan).

in the end, sonic characters' names should sound a bit like pet names or code names. descriptive and fitting in a way that we don't really get to name ourselves.

this is why i think amy rose doesn't gel as well with the rest of the characters, as it has a very human-sounding name. but in a way it suits her, as she's the most normal-seeming character by name and original power set, a bit like someone who happened to get swept up into sonic and eggman's battles -- which is kind of what happened.

sally acorn is a lot like amy rose in that respect; one of the only characters with a last name

i think if sally were sega-ified a bit more, in modern conventions she should have a "Name the Species" kind of name, which is important to keep in mind, as it should flow like Sonic the Hedgehog or Knuckles the Echidna does.

For her species, I think I'd prefer her to be a squirrel and for them to play up squirrel-y design aspects. she'd be cute with buck teeth and a bushy, curved tail. so whatever her first name is, it ought to flow well with 'the squirrel' .... which is difficult as squirrel doesn't really roll off the tongue well at all. for that reason i think we can also consider, 'name the ground squirrel' instead of just 'the squirrel' -- plus, we do already have ray the flying squirrel so idk. ... and i'm also preparing a backup 'the chipmunk' name as well (though she'll be compared to alvin and the chipmunks regardless with a name like that)

for traits sally could be renamed after... 1) she's a tough leader, and we'd fall on that, as she's never really had powers. she's also a princess. 2) she takes no shit and wants to be fair and just. 3) she has an affinity for computers 4) she is associated with the color blue (though i'd also redesign her to be orange rather than brown as a base, with hair that mostly blends into her orange fur), 5) wildcard, things that just seem to fit with her role

the reason i like this one best is because it doesn't fully give away what she does, and sounds succinct and precise. maps. you could follow a rebellion leader named maps, she'll tell you where to go and what to do.

i wanted to find more names related to royalty or tech or even stealth, but i really didn't find much that worked as a code name without being taken, or too on the nose it was cringe.

anyways. many of these i think would be great names for OCs or future characters. i could definitely imagine a character named gambit, whoever she is she'd have my whole heart. (maybe as a fiona fox redesign?)

my runner-up for sally might be citrine the ground squirrel, as it has an s sound to the name, and isn't too on the nose. i do still like spice (what i went with for a previous redesign), but i think it's my third place choice now, after looking into more of these.

Type: Rings Universes: All

SO! Rings. In my take on them, their applications, effects, and how they're made/where they're found are multiversal- though whether all their applications have been discovered in some universes is up to dispute.

First off- rings generate naturally, all over Mobius. They're made by a dense collection of Chaos Energy- nowhere near that of a Chaos Emerald, but about double that of a regular mobian/human. This energy will collect into one spot and transform into a golden ring- which makes one feel slightly buzzy if they touch it. Some places have more rings than others due to the amount of Chaos Energy present- some less. The Chaos Energy humans and mobians naturally produce that isn't used will filter into the air, and if enough is gathered, it will coalesce into a ring. This means densely populated places have more rings, naturally, than sparse areas.

Tied into point one, rings are made of solid Chaos Energy, much like the Chaos Emeralds themselves.

There are tribes of people/mobians (namely the owls) that are particularly versed in hand-making rings- but it takes a lot of energy, and plenty of solid gold to do. This craft is a closely-guarded secret, but it has helped in said tribes' negotiations with others, whenever rings in a given area are low.

Point two, rings are the most widely-accepted currency in any Mobius. Due to their natural generation, there aren't any major mints forming rings. However, there is a job called 'Ring Collector'- where one can keep a portion of the rings they locate, but the rest will be given to the general public/the government. Being a Ring Collector ain't the best job in the world if you don't love exploring, but it's a fun one if'n you do!

Point three- rings can save one from an injury once. While it's not understood how this function quite works, it's well known that if one has physical rings on them- if they are attacked/physically injured to any degree, all those rings will suddenly fly away from them and begin to flicker. The damage that was meant to be dealt will not happen, but the physical rings on a person (credit/debit cards linked to bank accounts do not count) will be tossed away as payment. If the rings are not collected before they disappear, they will simply evaporate back into Chaos Energy- and coalesce elsewhere.

It's widely accepted to have an 'emergency ring' on one's person at all times, just in case something happens. Of course, this process can be repeated infinitely, so long as one collects rings again. But if one is attacked/injured while holding no rings, they will receive the damage that was meant to take place.

Point four, last but not least, is that rings can be used to boost a machine's speed. Yet another not-entirely-understood capability of rings, is their ability to boost a machine's speed. There are corporations that pay big bucks to fuel their machines with rings. Rings will, inevitably, evaporate if they lose enough Chaos Energy.

Machines are not allowed to be powered by more than 100 rings, whether in races or in general. For some reason, machines running on more than 100 rings tend to malfunction- usually catastrophically.

Machines entered into races must be checked for hidden rings.- Rings are gathered and placed on the track for a given race, and can be absorbed into any vehicles being used. Any rings that don't evaporate are allowed to be kept by all racers- even those who didn't score in the top three.

ive re-written this fake gerald report for a fic like twenty times so im posting it here to shame myself into keeping it the same ty ty

Ever since the discovery of Angel Island two years ago, the best and brightest human researchers have travelled from across the world to explore its ruins. There is much to study: ancient murals, collapsed structures, and unique geological formations. This period of frantic research has dramatically increased our understanding of ancient Mobian civilization, earning it the nickname “The Angel Island Leap”. 

Among all the discoveries made on the island, our attempts to date the beginning of Mobian civilization have provided the most interesting results. The use of accelerator mass spectrometry—a form of radiocarbon dating—has allowed New American archaeologists to determine that some ruins existed up to 10000 years ago. We do not know exactly when Mobians evolved into their current form, but we do know they have a history of civilization nearly as long as ours. 

Obviously, this discovery was exciting for anthropologists and historians. The island is a floating gold mine for their fields.

It was devastating for scientists.

The Department of Planetary Studies is well versed in the Chaos Energy Crisis. However, since it is my understanding that this report will be shared with the Special Committee on Current Civilizations, I will attempt to explain it using layman terms.

The Chaos Energy Crisis has shaken physicists around the world. Its impact on the field of study is felt even at the high school level, where fundamental laws of physics are being challenged by the crisis. The law most challenged is the law of conservation of energy. This is for a simple reason: energy can now be created in closed systems. 

Members of the Committee have probably experienced kitchen troubles in their homes. As an example, ovens now have a tendency to rise rapidly in temperature and burn any food inside. This occurs because transfers of energy (in the case of an oven, the transfer from electrical energy to thermal/heat energy) are potentially subject to random increases in energy. Chaos Energy quite literally inserts itself into your oven and blasts your food with large volumes of heat energy. 

Why is this a crisis? Any technology dependent on energy transfers now operates at a failure rate of 37%. Our research tools are unreliable, and repeated experiments now vary greatly in results. We are entirely dependent upon mathematical models for our research. Until the Chaos Energy problem is solved, science will remain locked in its current state. Our fields can no longer develop.

Now that the Committee understands the issue, they will surely sympathize with our mass disappointment at the discoveries made on Angel Island. As you know, there are three general stages of societal development: preagricultural society, agricultural society, and industrial society. Mobians appear to have existed in the agricultural stage with little to no technological advancement for a very long time. At first, we believed the reasons for this to be purely cultural: industrial development requires the exploitation of natural resources, which is something strictly prohibited by Mobian cultural norms. Sans human intervention, it is possible that they never would have advanced to the next stage. This theory of development assumes that they were kept in place by self-imposed rules. 

Thanks to our discoveries on Angel Island, we know that is no longer the case. Murals on the island depict powerful clans that were comfortable with wiping away forests to build cities, as well as hierarchical political structures unseen in most modern Mobian tribes. In the ruins, we have found remnants of aqueduct systems, complex agricultural infrastructure, and even metal fragments that resemble a crude steam engine. The many great ancient clans from Angel Island and the Mystic Ruins were on the cusp of major technological breakthroughs—they just never made it. 

The reason for this is simple: Chaos Energy interference prevented them from achieving this breakthrough. Much like our science, their society was locked in place—progressing to the next stage was impossible. 

All of this has grave implications for humanity. I am not an economist, a sociologist, or whoever might be expected to make my next observation. However, I will still include it in this report because I believe it to be important. 

Our current international economy is dependent upon constant development. Future capital is found in new technology such as weapons, information systems, and consumer electronics. Many of our industries are dependent upon continuous technological advancement for long-term gains. Our society functions based on the expectation that the future will bring good things to us. 

Chaos Energy interference has made technological advancement impossible. When the news breaks, I expect that we will enter a economic recession of horrific proportions. But it will not only be our economy that slows to a stop—it will be our civilization, too. 

If there is a stage of development beyond industrial society, Chaos Energy has ensured that we will not reach it. 

We are stuck.

She's actually had training as a fighter and warrior.

Verse: She primarily exists in the world of the Sonic movies. (though I do have a thread where the Tron characters meet her on a venture into the User world.)

Bio: In Soneca's universe, the Hedgehogs were much more of a warrior race, able to match the Echidna in combat. As a reminder of this, a ceremonial contest is held each year between the Hedgehog and Echidna leaders, a one-on-one fight where they are not allowed to use their powers, only their combat skills. The goal would be to disable the opponent within the allotted time frame, but the contest has always ended in a draw for as long as either side can remember. This outcome became symbolic of the two groups' ability to coexist without warring, though they don't consider each other to be friends (though Soneca and the Echidna chief have both admitted to enjoying the annual contest and looking forward to facing each other in it). Like Sonic, Soneca was a bit of a risk taker and daredevil, though once she became Queen, she never took unnecessary risks when it came to the needs of her people. While not perfect, she was generally well liked and respected as a leader. Because of this, when it became known that a catastrophic wave of destruction was headed for (her) Mobius, even the Echidna sought her leadership, as the Hedgehogs were the more technologically advanced of the two races (that is, they could more easily utilize metals and energy and build machines, though they were still far from producing robots and AI)

The Owls did exist, but they pretty much kept to themselves and not much was known about them.

But even though the Hedgehogs watched the stars, they had no idea what to do. All the worlds they had visited via Warp Rings were pretty similar to Mobius. Soneca, needing to at least try something, had experts on the Warp Rings from all the worlds Mobius was in contact with get together and try to develop a technology that would allow for a mass evacuation. But the wave came on too quick. They managed to get the portal to work mere hours before everything was destroyed. In their final moments, elders from both groups warned that this wasn't a natural end. Some great evil had ended this universe and was already working to do the same in another. It was unanimously agreed Soneca would be sent to the other universe with the task of stopping it. As the wave came across, she allowed everyone to return to their families for their final moments. Those who didn't have family stayed and urged a reluctant Soneca on, though she was finally knocked through the portal by the shockwave and was thus spared, though traumatized at witnessing the last moments of her universe's existence and knowing her home and her people were gone.

She spent some time exploring the island she ended up on, even finding an Owl settlement and the remains of an Echidna village, but no people. When a ship crashed near the island, she explored it, planning to loot its resources. Instead, she learned of other worlds in this universe, though only one was a name familiar to her: Earth. Using Warp Rings she found on the ship (and taking an alien weapon with her) she traveled to Earth, not sure what to do from there. She lived similarly to Sonic, watching humans from a distance, gaining some of their interests. She was watching a news broadcast on someone's TV and the story seemed.....unusual for this world, so she followed it to Green Hills where she met up with the Wachowskis and was taken in as an additional member of the family after she assisted them in capturing Agent Stone. She's since become sort of a big sister to the other three.

Personality: She's a bit of a combination between Knuckles and Sonic, having Sonic's energy and optimism, but Knuckles' sense of responsibility. She is protective of her brothers, but not overly so. She knows they can handle themselves in a fight. She lovingly calls them idiots at times, but is always there for them and will always defend them (sometimes saying "but you're MY idiots." as she does.) She'd confident, but not arrogant, as she knows overconfidence can get people hurt or killed. She sometimes has doubts about her place in the family and/or the world, wondering if she's really supposed to be here, but she tries to keep these thoughts to herself. She relates most to Knuckles, as they were both from warrior races and both had great responsibilities. But she's also energetic when she wants to be and likes to have fun. She's still a bit of a daredevil, but will never knowingly put someone in danger. She tries to make sure her brothers follow rules, but she's also been known to assist with and encourage her brothers' shenanigans.

Appearance: She’s a little older than Sonic (but still considered a kid by Tom, Maddie, and at times herself) and a little taller, with a more feminine build (she DOES NOT have T&A, especially not T, because she doesn’t need them. She’s just a little leaner and has slightly more defined hips)

**Sorry to bring up Ugly Sonic, but the face and especially the eyes on that version are pretty close (but not exact. I can't draw, so I spent a lot of time trying to find an image that was even kinda close and this is what I found) to what I picture for her:

Her outfit resembles a sleeveless (not strapless) Wonder Woman (live action movie) outfit, but with a longer skirt, a little more blue and black, and silver in place of the gold parts. Instead of the white gloves of Sonic, she wears armored fingerless gauntlets. She prefers her claws out and keeps them sharp. She also has a silver band around each upper arm (these don’t serve any purpose, she just likes how they look). She also has a Wonder Woman-like tiara/headband thing to wear that she can use as a sort of thrown weapon (mun doesn't know the technical term for this, lol). Her shoes are armored boots (the originals from her universe) made of some lightweight alien material.

Interests/Likes: She likes action and sci-fi movies and TV. Her favorite superhero is Wonder Woman, who she relates to because of similar background. She enjoys doing things with her brothers, be it going for runs with Sonic, helping Tails test out his inventions, or sparring with Knuckles, she loves her family and just being with them. Her favorite food is bacon cheeseburgers with ketchup, mayo, BBQ sauce and no veggies.

Other: She affectionately calls Sonic 'little hoglet' or just 'hoglet' (this is the term for a baby hedgehog) and will sometimes do the same with Knuckles (calling him 'puggle', the term for a baby echidna) and Tails (calling him 'kit' or 'kit kit')

Unlike Sonic, Soneca can swim and enjoys doing it.

Reworking on Villian Au Arc:

(The jist of it is more of a bad end where Saturn/Nathan didn't see humanity as he used to after escaping his world and took back control that he lost. Losing that gentle chance of humility, having grown accustomed to enjoying the gore and end of others not worthy. He has the powers to do so and the knowledge, escaping his world for a new one he has darker thoughts at work. For more power or just to invoke fear? That's his own decision to make.)

With vast knowledge on weaponry and botany for deadly and non deadly plants with his own magical skill set. He can slide through the cracks if things go awry for others, say go missing and are killed for crossing paths.

He'd observe you first see if you're interesting enough to keep alive just this once or boring enough to see what your intentions were for stepping foot where he lives.

He's bloodthirsty and rough but hides that under a gentle innocent demeanor of helpful suggestions and offerings, it's so he can get what he wants. Even when he sells things like poisons and such he only does it to get information or something of equal value.

In his mind people kept pushing and screaming that he was a problem his mere existence seen as monster, a threat and freak, so he's going to be whether the new world he's in deserves it or not.

I've seen folks complaining that in IDW Sonic somics there ain't much of worldbuilding and such. And while I agree (seriously, not many location names come to mind right away tbh, all I can remember on-spot is Windmill Village, and Central City which most people know from games anyway), my own major beef with Sonic worldbuilding as a whole is this: SEGA, LET YOUR CREATORS BE FULLY CREATIVE AND LET THEM SHOW US THE WORLD WITH *BOTH* HUMANS AND MOBIANS.

Like COME ON - in games it's been "mostly humans around" (well, until Forces, at least), in IDW comics - "mostly mobians" (and I know they're not even called mobians, who even knows how they're called in game/IDW-verse, which hey - ANOTHER BEEF HERE). Can't you just... balance it out already? Like actually show us the mixed world IN-GAME/IN-COMIC, not mention off-handedly in a side-project (yeah, that one TailsTube episode). PLEEEEEASE.

(I just REALLY want to see human-mobian interactions aside the ones we've seen in games where the main cast were... basically the only mobians) (is this too much to ask?)

rough sonic verse for lillie because my mind is a - whirring

the aether foundation exists as an organization staffed primarily, though not exclusively, by humans.  the organization aims to better understand the differing biologies between humans and mobians, and especially how things such as chaos energy interact differently with humans and mobians.  it’s known throughout the world as a positive organization, known for giving many resources to charity and doing much to increase human - mobian understanding.  they’re especially known for treating badly injured mobians and returning them to health.

the organization is run by well - regarded genius scientist lusamine, who some consider a sort of anti - eggman; a genius on his level, but who is far gentler and more benevolent.  

what most don’t know is that the aether foundation under lusamine has a particular interest in beings like chaos, dark gaia, and even the end — and especially chaos energy.  lusamine’s dear husband was lost to such creatures and such powers and the worldline - altering affects they can and do have.  lusamine’s study of chaos energy is dual - pronged; she wishes to better understand why mobians possess the ability to use it in a way that humans cannot, and also hopes to harness it to bring her husband back.

eventually, her grief drives her mad; she begins exerting painful, desperate, abusive control of her children, gladion and lillie, hoping to keep them as ‘pure’ and ‘beautiful’ as they were when her husband left.  and she begins to see mobians as the same, so she starts disappearing many of the mobians that come into contact with the aether organization, to study and ‘preserve.’

this goes on for years before gladion flees as the abuse worsens, leaving lillie alone.  lusamine becomes even more controlling of lillie, and the abuse worsens; the emotional abuse and an exacting control over how lillie ate (  or, more often, wasn’t allowed to  ) and dressed intensifies, and frequent physical abuse is added to the rotation.  two years later lillie, too, flees, genuinely afraid that her mother is going to kill her.

lillie has a sense that her mother is doing something horrible, though she doesn’t understand the full extent of it, and eventually finds herself seeking out the heroes so that lusamine won’t be able to hurt anyone anymore.

Sonic Headcanons Chaos Energy/Chaos Force

(mostly movie verse)

1. Chaos Energy is the energy that exists in the Chaos Emeralds and Master Emerald, and allows them to manipulate Chaos Force.

2. Chaos Force is the energy in all living beings, and within the planets of Sonic's universe.

3. Earth also has Chaos Force, but only very few humans even know about and use it. Mobius is the planet that is the most aware and influenced by Chaos Force.

3. Chaos Force can come in all levels of strength. Only a select few have strong Chaos Force to the point that it grants them powers - Sonic and Knuckles are examples of this.

4. Tails also has a strong Chaos Force, but is still too young for it to unlock fully.

5. If there is a very strong bond between other beings (platonic or romance), their Chaos Force can link each other's souls and emotions under extreme circumstances.

6. Likewise, a Mobian's Chaos Force can determine who will be their future mate/life partner. Once two beings have found each other, the Chaos Force will determine if their souls and emotions are compatible.

7. Chaos is associated with creation and nature. Sonic's spirit is able to fully connect with nature out of anyone. This means he can sense and "feel" nature breathing and living around him.

8. There are other Chaos Gods other than Chaos (God of Destruction). These Gods are also mutated Chao, but mutate due to stronger levels of Chaos Force. These Gods also take on forms based on their environments. So one could be in a forest and take on a more plant like appearance. Another from a volcano, so their appearance is more firey.

HELLO, YES, I HAD AN IDEA FOR A CONCEPT AND HAD TO SHARE IT WITH YOU, INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE BUT WITH THE BLUE DEVILS, LET ME EXPLAIN

(disclaimer I haven't watched Spider-Verse in a while)

(other disclaimer this will contain many many spoilers for Into The Spider-Verse so go watch it it's amazing)

Wachowski takes the place of Miles, which makes sense. Sonic has more specialized powers than the other blue devils (see unlimited power, time freezing, lightning), like Miles, and they both have cop dads who are literally amazing (I mean, look at the "that's a copy" scene and tell me it doesn't radiate Tom and Sonic energy).

Boom takes the place of Peter B purely because both of them radiate exhausted "I am completely done with this bullshit" energy

Modern and Classic I'm not completely sure. Classic radiates feral energy based on what I'm seeing from your characterization (I literally just joined this fandom because of the movie, I don't know a lot about the games, sue me), so maybe Porker or Penny would work for him (or maybe some combination of the two, they all radiate sort of unhinged feral energy). Modern taking the place of the original Peter would work because they both have extremely cocky energy (I don't know if you can tell I'm assigning who's who based on energy), but then again, the original Peter dies, so... Fuck.

There is the possibility of different versions of Tails and Knuckles or the Prickle Posse taking the place of some of the characters, so that's something fixed. But then again... Several Sonics being chaotic...

There are characters who I honestly... don't know. Aaron, for example. Do I have Rachel take his place, since she's Maddie's sister and therefore Wachowski's aunt? What about the other villains? Aunt May? Spiderman Noir? And Gwen is a WHOLE other can of worms, so I'm just not gonna get into her because shipping is a big can of worms

So basically the plot goes the same. This is a society where humans and Mobians coexist, Tom and Maddie adopted Sonic when he was a kid shortly after Longclaw's death (which had nothing to do with echidna this time), Wachowski either gets bit by a radioactive bug or he gets exposed to a Chaos Emerald, that gives him super speed, other shenaniganery, loads of Sonics, time limit to most of them dying, you get the picture. This is just a rough draft of a plot, so if you have any improvements, please tell me.

Aaron was actually Longclaw in this case? I didn’t have any details but the claws and stuff kinda matched
