#lucys ramblings #this isn’t meant to be mean or anything i just find this idea so frustrating bc i think it’s a deeply unempathetic way to view people #just. can people please understand that internalised homophobia or patriarchy via ingrained societal upbringing #can absolutely have external negative ramifications on others without the person being absolutely irredeemable because of it #having such a zero sum view of good and bad when it comes to situations like this that exist on so many axes #is so unkind to yourself and also your peers. ur not INHERENTLY irredeemable for having harmed those around you in some way whilst u were #also harming urself with the same constructs #you almost definitely have work to do to unlearn and make amends!#but ur not zero sum terrible for it #in the same way in the middle of an anxiety spiral you might say your friend hates you. and then have to apologise to them because thinkin #of them in that way hurt THEM #in a much more structural way the same can be said for those who #say - perpetuated harmful patriarchal ideas of family roles in their relationship because they were holding themself to an unnatainable #and rigid idea of who they had to be to be ‘right’ in a patriarchal society.#if u see a redhead on twitter saying this exactly then congrats u found my partner in perpetual brain cell ping pong
