Hi, do you think celebrities can queerbait? Like pretend to be bit gay just to keep fans interested or something? Some people believe camila is actually straight and she is just being gay at times so Camren fans can buy her music, idk…this is really upsetting to me.

Oh they absolutely can. t.A.T.u. is the example that everyone brings up in this debate, but I find them to be the exception and not the norm. Most of the time when an artist engages in queer flagging that others perceive as "queerbaiting," they end up coming out eventually. In fact, several openly queer artists have discussed dropping hints in their art pre-coming out hoping people would pick up on them (Lil Nas X, Dove Cameron, Tyler Glenn of Neon Trees, etc.). The most recent example of this, of course, is Billie Eilish.

Personally, I give the benefit of the doubt to artists who incorporate queer aesthetics into their work. I default to believing that they're queer signaling instead of queerbaiting not just because the former happens more often, but also I'd rather help them feel accepted by their community than ostracize them or invalidate their queer identity when they so clearly want to be noticed. If I'm wrong then I'm wrong, but I'm willing to take that chance because I just wouldn't feel good about refusing to even consider the possibility of their queerness.

As for Camila, like I always say, my biggest reason for believing she's queer is her music, not just because she waves around rainbow flags and is super touchy with women.

Unpopular opinion - I know people are annoyed or mad at Lauren for calling out people who use AI to make photos of her. But as much as I wish lauren would at times just chill out, I'm with her on this. I get that people may argue that there are already several manips & art of Camren/ Lauren but there is something ominous about AI . It will hugely affect a lot of people. If morphing was bad this will be worse. Anyone can make any type of pics with this resource. I know the Camren AI art are just cute pics of them (as of now). But think of what someone with a bad intention could do. Women are very vulnerable to this, particularly women who are famous/internet personalities/celebs. Maybe my opinion is a bit biased cuz I value my privacy and will be very pissed if someone uses my pics. And we know how sensitive L is, to anything Camren related, her defense mechanism is to attack. But her call out was rightfully done. Just wanted to share this. Again no one can be stopped from using her images but the hate seems very misguided.

Thanks for your comment, buddy. You're totally right because they are making awful things with Lauren and other celebrities. Unfortunately, AI is still something that needs to be controlled.

As far as the Camren photos go, I think it's the least damaging of all of this, but I understand why it bothers Lauren because that's like her part of the fandom.

We fans never followed the ship because it was something bad, but quite the opposite. It is a story of friendship and love that touched many of our lives and made us friends regardless of everything that comes with it.

For now I think the best thing is to report hateful accounts that do ugly things with Lauren and Camila, although it is not that easy it is the only way to protect them

Jaune - Will Porter makes the most sense cause he has that goofball blonde vibe to him. He fits the age range and he has recently been in GOTG3.

Now, Cameron Monaghan. Cal Kestis from Jedi: Fallen Order and Survivor. But also Jerome/Jeremiah from Gotham. If you wonder why I picked Camren Bicondova for Ruby earlier, this is partially why. I do want a dynamic of friendship between Ruby and Jaune and them both being in Gotham could help reach that.

Nora - Sadie Sink. Known for being in Stranger Things, and also being ginger, Sadie has this energy of “get out of my way or else I’ll split a mountain in half”. She fits the age range and also is relatively short just like everybody’s favorite hammer wielder.

Pyrrha - Sophie Turner. Known for playing Jean Grey in X-Men, she has experience with playing the tall, dark haired fighter (and also with Magento’s polarity lol). Now I know that the post canon idea doesn’t work if Pyrrha is here but eh, fan casts are meant to be kinda wobbly with logic.

Ren - Simu Liu. Now he is going to be the oldest of this fancast but his martial arts work in Shang-Chi just felt so Ren to me with how he focuses more on kicks than punches.

So I was rewatching some older videos of @sytokun (do check out and support the Switchback channel and the stuff SYTO makes btw) and this one got me thinking.

How would I fancast a live action RWBY?

Of course some choices in this video I really can’t think of any better choices.

Qrow - Robert Patterson or Johnny Depp

Torchwick - Domnhall Gleeson

Fennic and Corsac - Rami Malek and Oscar Isaac

Jaune - Will Porter (or Cameron Monaghan, I’ll come back to this later)

Oscar - Justice Smith

Penny - Sophia Lillis

Tyrian - Burn Gorman

I’ll get back to my personal reasonings on these but I do want to start with our main four. Also like, I am not gonna get these perfect but I’m gonna try to at least stay consistent with look, ages, and acting range.

Ruby - Camren Bicondova. Now I know that she doesn’t really act anymore but she just strikes me as Ruby. I’m kinda trying to stay in the 20s-30s range for this and idk have it be like set after canon or something so the ages don’t feel too off but that’s beside the point. She’s most well known for her role as Catwoman in Gotham, and I really think she can have that young and playful but also serious when the moment calls for it vibe.

My other choice for Ruby would be Emma Myers. Her energy in Wednesday as Enid just felt Ruby to me? Idk how to explain it. Short hair, vibrant energy, but can get down to business when the moment calls for it.

Weiss - Anya Taylor-Joy. Having been in The Menu, The Queen’s Gambit, Last Night In Soho, The New Mutants, and as Princess Peach in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, she really has a wide range in her acting. Being snarky but also somber is certainly in her range. I really thing that she also bounces off her costars really well.

Blake - Zendaya. Okay stick with me here, MJ from the Spider-Man “Home” Trilogy is Blake. That quiet and reserved but also snarky and quick witted energy. Idk it just feels like it fits so well. Also I don’t want this fan casting to be more pale than Weiss with sun lotion on so yeah.

Yang - I’m actually gonna take this one from the SYTO fancast, Leah Lewis. She fits into the age range of the other girls, she has that Yang energy of being a bit of a party girl, and most importantly, is that she’s Chinese which is already doing more than the actually show for proper Chinese rep. Lol. Lmao even.

But uh yeah, I think I’m gonna leave it at that for now.

I will come back to this and maybe tackle JNPR and actually explain the choices at the top and also maybe do Ozpin, Glynda, and Ironwood.

on Twitter, in late 2015, Camila tweeted a photo of an artwork that she liked, and a fan replied trying to link it to Camren or to Lauren

And Camila replied: "this literally has nothing to do with that, this specific pic means a lot to me and always has, don't make it about that pls

I believe Camren was real but I never believed into the moon sun theory lol. What about you? What do you think about the theory and camila’s reply?

I do think the sun/moon meant something to the girls, given how many times they’ve posted about it and depicted it in their art. That one specific reply from Camila was probably during a rough patch for Camren (of which they had plenty), so she probably didn’t want to associate it with Lauren at the time.
