This week I am teaching the passive voice to my advanced students. Here's a glimpse at a part of the video I'm going to use at class with them. The full video guide and my voice comments are already up on Youtube. I hope you or someone you know may find this useful. Check it out, share & subscribe if you like it: https://youtu.be/5ROLwV66ypY

📌 IMPROVE YOUR VOCABULARY Speaking English more fluently and confidently means using day-to-day expressions that make the speaker sound more natural in conversation. The SPOKEN ENGLISH series of episodes is dedicated to making learners aware of the more frequent idioms, expressions and fixed phrases that will help us speak with ease, become more advanced and feel more relaxed when talking in English. 💡In this second video you'll be learning about 5 fixed phrases used to express: 🎯 an excellent chance to do something important 🎯 that something makes you feel a bit more optimistic in a bad situation 🎯 that you don't know or remember anything about a certain topic 🎯 that you will stop doing something 🎯 that you need to be less critical of someone
Each episode takes a look at 5 expressions. In order to make the learning experience more fun and engaging, we will learn the new language through a quiz every time. I recommend that you take notes after each quiz question so that you can compare the answers afterwards.
Another useful practice that will help you become more natural and fluent in speaking is pausing and repeating each expression. The sooner you hear yourself sounding more natural, the sooner you will be better able to use this language in conversation.
So here's a fun and productive way to spend at least five minutes today!

📌CAMBRIDGE ENGLISH: ADVANCED (CAE) Speaking Part 4
🎯To understand what is required and to get some tips on how to do well, I asked my students to watch the video and fill in the gaps in each step of the presented strategy: 🔎Introduce the answer & ___________ 🔎Answer & __________________ 🔎____________ your contribution 🔎________________ & __________ your partner 🔎Agree & ______________ 🔎Disagree & ______________
💡I also encouraged them to jot down any useful language they could pick up, in order to make it easier for them to introduce & link their ideas. Hope it helps. Let me know if you have questions.

📌In both speaking prep and assessment for CAE, I've noticed that candidates have a hard time conducting a successful conversation debating the ideas and then working towards a conclusion in Part 3.
🎯To help my students with both the strategy and the language, I played them the video and asked them to extract info from it on two columns:
COMMUNICATIVE AIM          I      USEFUL LANGUAGE (e.g. Initiate conversation)    I      (e.g. May I begin?)
🎯Then, they talked about the notes they took, filled in more ideas and practiced in pairs/ groups of three, following on from the strategy and language they'd observed. 💡I recommend this to any candidate before sitting the exam. Let me know if you have questions.
