I feel like I'm close to being able to post chapter 36 of KSFM, but there is ONE GODDAMN SCENE that is very important and unable to be cut, but every time I try to write it, my brain draws a complete blank. I literally can't write anything readable when it comes to this scene, but the story can't progress without it. It's a big part of why I took a break this summer, and yet time hasn't eased this specific writer's block at all🙃

is it really controversial to say you shouldnt hate any one group of people ??!?!??!?? clumping people of a group together and saying they're all bad is just. stereotyping.

for a personal example, i don't always trust christians, but i don't think all christians are bad, and i don't avoid or tell christians to stay away from me. how would i ever see other perspectives in life if i only interact with the things i like?

Of course I can't speak for every practice, and I work for an independent rather than a big chain, but buying glasses and contact lenses online is only going to lead to opticians closing, and then who will be able to conduct your eye tests? And repair your frames when you don't want to buy another pair? Also for complicated lenses like varifocals or bifocals, you need additional measurements as well as your PD, which often needs to be specifically measured in your chosen frame to get them accurate otherwise you're gonna have problems, and then where do you go to try and get them sorted? TO AN OPTICIANS! The number of people who come in who have problems with glasses and contact lenses they've bought online is insane, and then they end up spending MORE MONEY because we have to make them up new specs or get them different lenses in the end anyway.

Speaking of contact lenses, please PLEASE have yearly checkups so we can check your eyes are still healthy and okay with having lenses in. You should only go for contact lenses if you REALLY want to, it's a lot of daily work to use them healthily and safely, and you'll need a pair of glasses as well for when you're not wearing them, because you need to give your eyes a break from them and should NEVER wear them from the second you wake up to the second you get into bed. Also make sure you get a proper contact lens teach when you first try them, again so you know how to look after them and take care of your eye health, and also to pick up the best techniques for getting them in and out of your eyes. This also means if you can't get them out, an optician is on site to do so.

Please take from this, support your local independent opticians if you can. We train long and hard for a reason. And if you have to buy specs online, ONLY buy low prescription single vision, and ONLY buy the type of lenses you've been prescribed by an optometrist.

can we talk about how literally 64% of people wear glasses, and yet we NEVER see them in movies/tv unless it's on some nerdy or uncool character? why do we adhere to such a weird beauty standard that subconsciously makes us feel bad for,, not being able to see???

I got back my wild Wes but at what cost 😭

This whole episode was honestly 10/10 for me. What a way to end the year. I was really at the edge of my seat all through.

From the return of badass Vo leading an interrogation again, to Raines sobbing and spiraling for Vo, to Wes holding back tears for Vo and reverting to wild Wes with Boothe being the devil in his ears, to Csonka and his lawyer pissing the f*ck outta me, to that f*cking cliffhanger, this episode gave all that it needed to give for a fall finale. As a fan of the show, it honestly was one of my favorite episodes.

When we were about 15 mins in and already "justice was served", I knew we were in for a ride. Plus I was still expecting Vo to get shot based on last week's trailer, so I knew there was heartbreak to come. I just didn't expect it to be that bad. I really didn't think the shot was going to be life threatening for Vo. I thought her vest will protect her or at worst, a minor injury where she will be back on her feet by the end of the episode.

Boy was I wrong but boy did I enjoy it all.

Now we gotta wait till January to find out what happens to Vo and whether Wes will go through with his revenge. This is going to be a long hiatus😭

P.S. I still don't think Vo is getting killed off 😉

I'm so glad I left twitter because what do you mean people are on that hellsite bragging about not knowing what The Odyssey is????? The ODYSSEY! Even if you've never read it (which is a shame because it really should be on every school's curriculum), how could you not have HEARD of the most essential text in all of western literature??? The basis of pretty much every storytelling convention we still use today???? Sorry I don't mean to rant but I'm just so flabbergasted. Is this the influence of BookTok (🤢)? The result of declining literacy rates? The death of critical thinking and intellectualism? All of the above? Either way it's so concerning.

regarding a post i saw earlier today, i felt a little cynical and disappointed in myself. :/

i guess for me, people being dicks on the internet is expected, so when someone complains about how mean people are... im like, why do you think people are going to change? why do you even bother to make it known? don't you also see the realism in the world? the reality is that 90% of things that you post go unnoticed and ignored. so what's the point? who are you? who am i? who exactly among anyone here can make a change big enough to get people to be nicer on the internet?

Know what's absolutely brilliant about being a history nerd?!!?

Becoming re-obsessed with a certain period of English history ( the Restoration! When I was 15-ish I loved reading about Charles II and all the things he did (giving the boot to the puritans, getting revenge for his father, reopening theatres and letting women act on stage, having lots of illegitimate children)that kinda stuff, anyways) . And being sad that King Charles II never had his own son on the throne, because you really like the Merrie Monarch, then remembering that his brother King James VII & II was ousted and the House of Stuart was no more on the throne of England. Lots of sad times. Then you remember a certain Jacobite song about Bonnie Prince Charlie. Which is a heckin' great song by the by. THEN you get sad remembering that Bonnie Prince Charlie lost. More sad times

Then it crosses your mind to finally check out BPCharlie's ancestry and low and behold he's King James VII & II grandson ( teen me never made the connection when last I obsessed over 17th/18th century England). Cool! I love the connecting dots I'm doing.

A little bit of reading later and a few more dots connected, and OH? isn't THAT interesting?? King ' I had more illegitimate kids than I knew what to do with ' Charles II gave lots of dukedoms and titles and things to said kids...... And guess who's a direct descendant of one of those * ahem* children? Princess Diana. Yeah, the PRINCESS DIANA ! And who's next in line to the throne of England?? Her eldest son..... Who's consequentially a direct (maternal line) descendant of the Merrie Monarch... The Jacobites better have a party when Prince William is crowned because THE STUARTS ARE GONNA BE BACK ON THE THRONE!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!
