Vancouver resident Calvin Wong says he can finally start picturing a future in Canada after the federal government announced it was dropping educational requirements for Hong Kongers seeking permanent residency in the wake of the Chinese city’s crackdown on dissent.

Wong, 28, had graduated from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology with a computer science degree in 2017 before moving to Canada on a work permit in 2021, looking for a life where he could enjoy “political freedom.”

But immigration pathways for Hong Kong residents that have allowed thousands to settle permanently in Canada excluded Wong because it has been more than five years since he graduated.

What do anyone think about this idea of making a new alternate universe for sonic using unused characters, concepts, and beta designs of existing characters as well as the concept art of Satam? Here are some of my ideas.

Feels the Rabbit is the main hero in this universe that is helped by the brilliant but lazy Dr. Teddy Eggman who also acts as the young rabbit's father figure

Madonna of this would be a mix of her original concept and her Archie Comic version with elements from Topaz, so basically Ada Wong from Resident Evil, she was send with her partner to keep an eye on Feels and Dr Eggman but soon formed a bond with the young rabbit, acting as a mother figure to him.

Beta Rouge (I'm not sure what to call her) is Madonna's partner and her personality is similar to Lara Croft so she was a former archaeologist who ventures into ancient tombs and hazardous ruins around the world and give what she finds to museums, in fact she was so good the G.U.N. offered her a job which she accepted in hope of more excitement and was paired with Madonna.

Gazebo Boobowski and his daughter, Tiara Boobowski, were the guardians of the six magical Rings of Order, as well as the ancient art of Ring smithing, I'm not sure what else to do on these characters, any ideas?

Terios (the top two) could be similar to Wolverine in terms of origin as well as personality with him probably mentoring Feels the Rabbit. He is related to the bottom character, who will be named Void, who is basically Sabretooth. Also, the two designs next to each other could be their super forms. They don't remember their origins but remember being experimented on by humans, resulting in Void's hatred of humans and his insanity as well as Terio's general distrust of humans, though Terios escaped with the help of a mysterious white hedgehog.

Very little is known about Venice the hedgehog but all that known is that he believed he is from the future and is here to set things right, I'm actually having problems with coming up with a ideas for him

In this universe, Mobians live alongside humans because of a crisis at Mobius which led to mass immigration to earth. Feels the Rabbit lose his family during an crisis and he was found by Teddy

Inferno

an fire elemental that follows and protects a young bobcat after the child save her from being captured from government agents. She has total control over fire as well as their physical body

After saving Inferno from government agents, she and her family are forced to go on the run. She is a good-hearted but mischievous girl, think a mashup between Calvin and Hilda, a part of her regrets helping Inferno due to the trouble it brought her and parents but they her assured her that she did a good thing

A up and coming rock and roll sensation that's making headlines, his style of music is Very reminition of glamrock as well as 70s funk. Glam was just a struggling musician that was trying to make it big in the music industry, his luck changes when playing at a live music bar when famed music producers Lennon Bulldog overheard Glam and immediately offered him a contract which changed his life

Teddy Eggman's assistant who is very positive and hard-working to a weird amount. He is almost always smiling but rarely talks and sometimes plays practical jokes and pranks also Teddy doesn't remember hiring him but since he's worked hard so he doesn't question it

Ziggy the Black Cat

The Wario to Feel's Mario, He's a greedy, rude and hot-tempered but surprisingly intelligent individual who always making some get rich quick scheme but fortunately is a nuisance at best

Axel Mole

A very passive and unassertive guy who tend to stay out of conflicts and just want to explore the world. He always has to wear his special goggles when he comes to the surface so as to not hurt his eyes

An Appreciation for Fictional Assholes

Recently I have read Andrew Joseph White's Hell Followed With Us and Kahn Wong's The Circus Infinite. Both of them follow a protagonist who joins up with a group of diverse misfits who like to cause trouble (both books are also unapologetically queer, but that is beside the point I'm making today).

Hell Followed is the story of a group of LGBT teenagers trying to survive an apocalypse. As a result, not all of the teenagers are friendly, fair, or halfway reasonabe to each other or the protagonist. You've got Cormac, former spoiled rich kid, Calvin the transmedicalist, and Alex the grieving enby. The book really needed that sense of light antagonism in the group of good guys to really balance it out, make it feel realistic, and add extra drama.

Circus, meanwhile, seemed to start off a little too positively. All the circus performers instantly seemed to like the protagonist, Jes, even though they'd literally just met him and he'd barely proved himself. The book takes a little while before it really starts getting good.

But then we get Fucking. Goddamned. Moxo. Love to hate him. Moxo finds one little slight Jes accidentally does against him and he will not let it go! Dude brings it up at every opportunity. He feels like he's ready to tear Jes' kidneys out and sell em on the black market. Moxo is the type to die on an anthill while calling it a mountain. He is exactly what the book needed and I love this dude.

Hell Followed has the evil cult and Circus had the space mafia as major villains go (and they are great villains), but this petty inner conflict really helps both books to shine. There's nothing like a pissed off co-worker staring daggers at you. Appreciate your resident assholes, folks!

well now you know I have to ask.... top 3 sunmi looks and why.....

alright so one thing you have to understand about me and summi is… i’m usually not that impressed by how they style her for like stages/mvs tbh i feel like her stylists think well she is the most beautiful woman on earth so why do we have to try so much. like she always looks stunning obviously but that’s because she is literally sunmi and the clothes aren’t like BAD it’s just usually kind of boring. the one stage outfit i remember being truly truly wowed by is the suit-adjacent vest and tie ensemble she wore for stranger promotions

it had like everything. chic, sexy, interesting, great fit, concept. but anyways other than that i really always feel like. well babes i could style her so much better! and i am always so much more impressed by her personal style. so these are gonna be some faves from the sunmi model off duty archives.

whenever she wears an oversized leather jacket i am sold tbh. like it just gets me. she already really has that specific star power to her look that i associate with certain 90s hong kong stars like joey wong and maggie cheung. and when she wears a leather jacket in that style it’s just like. that is a wkw muse. and if you know me at all well then you understand what that does to my psyche. middle outfit in particular might be my fave miyafit of all time.

this little outfit that she wore to the germanier show last spring is sooooooooooo fucking good oh my god first of all no1 beret wearer ever she really knows how to carry what others might feel silly on. and the laceup matching set is so simple but the straight silhouette really suits her and i like that it’s extremely like. almost 90s calvin klein simple but then lacing gives you that little hint of lingerie-as-fashion. i love it soooo much.

okay this is so like. idk what to say it’s just such a gay outfit like the menswear fit of the pants and the big navy ysl that looks like she probably stole it from her rich ivy league board member father before going to the hamptons- can you tell my taste was heavily influenced by watching gossip girl? idk she just looks so hot it’s STUPID.
