🚨KOSA is back and being pushed heavily in congress right now

I really hate to do this, but KOSA, the bill that is a mass censorship and surveillance bill that will specifically censor all LGBT content online to "protect kids", is back.

KOSA advocates have brought in support from Elon Musk (I wish I was making this up) and are trying to get him to get Donald Trump to speak out in support of it. (And they lie and tell us it's not an anti-queer bill 🙄). The reason so is because the holdouts that are stopping this from passing are...republicans. It's GOP House leaders Steve Scalise and Mike Johnson. If they succeed and put this in an end of year spending bill, it will be near impossible to get it out and it will most likely be passed. Pro-KOSA advocates were on the hill today pushing hard to pass it. They have a lot of support behind them. There is only two weeks left in congress, so if they don't succeed, it's over.

The ONLY way this bill has stalled so much so far is because of calls driven to congress. It has worked and can still work. Please, spread this as much as you can and call House leadership and spread the word! You don't have to be from their district. You can pretend to be GOP. It doesn't matter, just call and voice your opposition. Trump and Musk clearly have a lot of sway over these people and I'm really scared they will succeed at the last minute!!

My name is Ahmed, from the eastern Khan Yunis area in Gaza. I am married and my small family consists of 4 members. I live among my large family, which includes 15 members, and I work to help them all.

My story:

On the twelfth of November 2023 AD, I was displaced from my home with my family after the Israeli occupation army threatened to evacuate the area in which we live. I left my home physically, but my spirit remained there.

Days after the first displacement to the western Khan Yunis area, the occupation targeted our house. My brother was inside it and was martyred immediately. My brother did not accept the threatening language of the Zionists, and he continued to defend our house with his soul and body in the face of the arrogance of this unjust world. My brother was a majestic lion. We have lost a piece of our heart. .

Displacement series:

When you are forced to leave your home, every step becomes heavy as if you are carrying the weight of the world on your back. Carrying bags weighs down and breaks the back, as each piece carries the memory and pain of separation.

Running from danger is not only physically tiring, it is soul-killing, as you feel as if you are escaping a part of your life with every step.

Pitching a tent over and over again is not just a physical act, but rather a psychological drain, as every time you rebuild something you know very well that it is temporary, it comes with great physical, psychological and financial costs.

In short: displacement is a harsh experience whose bitterness and difficulty are known only to those who have suffered from its fire and lived through it in all its painful details.

Today, after the sixth displacement in this war that has been going on for more than a year, we want to follow my brother’s will and build our house and maintain our presence in the land of Gaza to prevent the Zionists from occupying it.

My husband and I completed our university education with distinction, worked in respectable jobs, and were used to helping others, not asking for help. But the war has turned our lives into a nightmare; we lost our home, our sources of income, and even our ability to provide the simplest of needs.

I'm Hanan. For the past 13 months, we have been struggling to get healthy food and medicine for my child, whose weak body was attacked by infection, and for my elderly mother-in-law, who fell into a coma for several days and almost lost her life due to anemia caused by our inability to provide healthy food, as prices have risen more than 10 times. Now, we have run out of everything. While you are reading my message, my family and I are trying to survive amidst all kinds of suffering.

War is not easy, as I lost part of my family, my home and my work.

I graduated from university with a high grade and worked as a fashion designer and opened my own project because it was my hobby from the beginning.

I developed and succeeded in my field, but the war came and I lost everything in a moment.

My work was my source of livelihood for my family, so because of it there was no longer any source of income.

Also, my mother has been suffering from kidney failure for years and needs dialysis 3 times a week.

Because of the war, she suffered from going to the hospital in danger and long distances.

Also, the lack of adequate care caused her severe fatigue and hospitals became an unhealthy place because of the large numbers who needed treatment.

I had many ambitions and dreams that I wanted to achieve and succeed and become a famous fashion designer.

All we wanted was to survive the war. We were forced to be displaced more than 10 times at least.

We suffer a lot from the tent as we lived the summer with its extreme heat as it is made of poor quality nylon

And from insects and diseases

And now winter has come and we are drowning in the tents and the extreme cold

Traumatized in Ireland While my Family is Facing Death and Starvation in Gaza

I contemplate the happy faces of people around me here in Ireland and reminisce about the happy normal life my family and I had before the war. A life that turned into a distant memory for us and was replaced by an unending series of horrible nightmares.

Unlike my family in Gaza, people here have access to drinking water, all types of food, electricity, and a roof over their heads. Above all, they are safe, and I cannot help but wonder if they genuinely do appreciate these blessings in their lives enough.

People seem relaxed and laughing wholeheartedly around me in Ireland. I wish I could laugh too, but I am crushed way beyond recovery on the inside. I was evacuated by my Irish college after five months of living the horrors of war in Gaza. I hope you will never know what it feels like to live in constant fear and worry and be horrified by the most sickening and scary nightmares every single night while you are far away from your family in such circumstances.

When did my people in Gaza cease to be human beings worthy and deserving of a normal life? Has it become normal now for my family in Gaza to be starved and killed while the whole world is watching the genocide? If that is the case, then you will have to excuse me if I seek every avenue to bring them to Ireland and start a new normal life like all people here around me.

I was assured by the Irish Reugee Council (IRC) and lawyers in Ireland that there is hope I can reunite with my family in Ireland. In difficult times, it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. For me and my family, you are literally our light and hope for a better life.
