'Cottages and Cerberus' is a new cottagecore monster-hunting TTRPG system.   Inspired by games such as Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, and Monster Hunter, you and your group of friends will live out your lives day to day in a cottage in a fantasy realm. You will hunt vicious monsters to gain materials and improve your cottage. The Core Rulebook includes 50+ monsters to hunt and slay, and each monster  comes with a hunt that is taken before the true fight can begin.

As part of this campaign we are offering special bestiaries for Pathfinder 2E and the D&D 5E. These bestiaries will be available as both PDFs and as a softcover book. Both are available individually in their own tier and also as add-ons.

Pick up and Play

Cottages & Cerberus is a cottagecore monster-slaying tabletop RPG. The game is simple to pick up but hard to put down. The base rules can be learned in minutes, and since each monster has a hunt— a mini adventure that leads up to the boss fight– you can pick one and start running within minutes. Quickstart characters found in the back of the book reduce the friction of having too many character choices, so players can just choose one and go. But, for those who want to nerd out creating your character and load out, you can spend hours picking the perfect abilities for your character. The rules are easy enough to learn quickly, but varied enough to support a vast array of complex and unique characters.

The core of the system involves making checks. When attempting a check, characters roll a number of six-sided dice based on their attributes and circumstances. The GM will then set a target number, determining how difficult the check is. Players will count the number of dice that rolled the target number or higher and then consult the chart below.

Spoons 

Spoons are the key resource system in C&C. They are an abstraction of a character's physical and mental capacity. The spoon resource system was inspired by the Spoon Theory, an abstract model created by Christine Miserandino that attempts to explain the energy cost of certain actions for people with chronic pain/illness and mental health conditions. Failing checks and being attacked by monsters cost players spoons, as do some abilities.

Cozy Mode 

While in Cozy Mode, you can make checks to do things such as fishing, gardening, crafting, and more. Success grants you Cozy Points. Gain enough Cozy Points and Miss Luna, the goddess of the Moon, will increase your Cottage Rank. In addition, the book presents an optional PC+NPC romance subsystem that is explicitly meant to emulate romance elements found in farming/life sim games.

Character creation in C&C is very simple but rich.  Character creation consists of 4 steps: assign your CALM, chose 3 ABILITIES, pick a VIBE and chose either a MAGIC ITEM or a PET

CALM

CALM refers to your attributes. These 4 scores (CHARM, ALCHEMY, LORE, and MUSCLE) range from 1 to 4 at character creation. Whenever you make a check, you roll a number of dice equal to one of these attributes. 

Abilities 

Next you chose 3 abilities from the over 200 abilities in the book. ABILITIES can have several tags. Abilities with labels like <ACTION> or <REACTION> are powerful combat-focused skills, while tags like <PASSIVE> or <POWER> denote abilities that offer creative, character-focused uses in and out of combat.

Vibes 

VIBES are the general energy your character gives off. Each vibe offers a way to restore spoons.

Pet or Magic item 

Magic Items can grant various benefits. Pets are fully loyal creatures that are controlled by the player. They have a miniature stat block and can be used both in and out of combat.

Start playing quickly 

If all of these character options feel overwhelming, don't worry! The book offers  options that can help you build your character. The back of the book also contains several quick start characters. 

Cozy Calling 

The book also presents an optional system called Cozy Callings. Each Cozy Calling includes a bit of lore and questions to help you write your backstory. They also include recommended abilities, and abilities written specially for that Calling (but available to all characters). Cozy Callings are optional, you can take several Callings or take none. A Cozy Calling is merely a starting point for creating your character. Cozy Callings in the book include concepts such as the Cheerleader and the Spell Knight.

Hunting mode is the a core part of the game loop in Cottages & Cerberus. After defeating a monster, players gain new materials that they can use to craft items for their cottage. There are over 50 monsters to slay in Cottages & Cerberus. Each monsters contains an hunt, a miniature adventure consisting of anywhere from 1 to 5+ scenes and minor challenges that must be completed in order to face the fearsome beast.

Quick and Brutual Boss Fights 

Fights in C&C are meant to be brutal, intense, but quick. These monster fights are explicitly meant to be BOSS fights, and the rules for combat are built to emulate intense battles. The monster starts each fight with an OPENER before its first real turn. Afterwards, it's the players turn. Players decide among themselves what order they want to take their actions. After all players have gone, the monster activates CLOSER abilities that auto-target based on which character(s) meets  certain conditions.  (As an example, one monster might have an ability that deals damage to the character with the most spoons).

Each monster also has challenges. Challenges come in two varieties. Hook Challenges offer plot hooks related to the monster. Variation Challenges represent subspecies of the monster that alter its ecology, lore and abilities.

I'm EXTREMELY late and I'm so sorry!!!! Thank you so much for wanting to know more about a favorite sim of mine, because I adore so many of yours! (You killed the BHMCAS challenge!!!!!)

Since I just did Krystle Dyson, let's give her little sister, Tiffani Dyson, some shine (we're playing catchup in the gameplay updates, I promise I'm not ignoring her lol)!

(1) I have no reason to believe this, but I feel like she and her sister have Jamaican (Sulanian by default lol) roots. I always make them cook island inspired dishes (lmboo Grannies Cookbook never should've given me rice and peas with plantain & oxtail AND beef patty with coco bread, pls.)! Since they would've been babies at the time their family would've been cooking like this, their friend Tamara Franklin, who I also assume is Jamaican lmbo, taught them!

(2) Tiffani was supposed to be giving Black Girl Luxury/Soft Girl, before we even had a name for it. I wanted her to enjoy her life and her sought-after riches--mainly in contrast to her more tightly-wound older sister. She could have fun!!

(3) She enjoys getting her sister riled up, by just living her life! She lets her calm down soon after, but she knows by this point that Krystle's love is truly unconditional for her. She can do no wrong in her eyes! Still, they KEEP a "Smooth Apology" as a suggested point of conversation between them (LMBO)!

(4) Tiffani started off with the Party-Animal aspiration, which soon turned into the Serial Romantic aspiration, which soon turned into her struggling to be sat down by multiple pregnancies (lolll)!

(5) Tiffani Dyson has a personal stylist, who yall know as Krystle Dyson. This is how Krystle got put on in the first place, as a celebrity stylist and simtuber. To this day, I like to think her looks are carefully curated by her sister, even as her sole client!

“Wow,” Johnny actually grinned, tears welling up behind his eyelids. “No woohooing way! We’re gonna have a baby together... I didn’t think... I mean, I wouldn’t have minded adoption... but... this is... really cool.”

“You’re actually happy?” Ronin asked.

“Hell yeah!” Johnny smiled. “It’s still weird as woohoo... and honestly, I’m terrified about how I’m gonna inevitably give birth... How is that even gonna work? But... I can’t wait for us to be dads.”

“I can’t wait either, and I promise I’ll be right there with you through it all,” Ronin grinned back. “The watcher doesn’t play with the childbirth mod so it should just be a quick and mostly painless process — an uncomfortable moodlet, some sparkles and then it’s done.”

“Then we’ll have a baby,” Johnny said, looking a lot more calm. “Good thing I got that promotion today then. We’ll need all the simoleons we can get, especially if I have to take the next 3 or 4 days off. I can’t go out in public looking like a whale. Sims will ask questions.”

“We’ll be okay. We’ll figure it all out together,” Ronin assured him.

So, I wanted to show you my SL families in the Sims 2. These are quite different from how I normally picture next gens.

First off, we have Jim and Yam. They have two daughters. They are named Lola and Charlie, just like in my next gen AU

They are not twins, they simply both are toddlers at this moment. Lola is a day from being a child.

Then we have Gastina, with their daughter who I named Minna.

The most interesting household consists of Simón, Ámbar and Luna. There are four kids in the house, and all have different parents.

Ok, so I need to explain something about the Sims 2, if you didn’t know. Sims’ aspirations are influenced by their wishes. If you don’t complete Sims’ wishes, the aspiration will drop to a low level. Here we have an example of Yam’s wishes. She has the family aspiration.

She wishes to give someone a gift, teach Charlie to sing, buy a toy, teach Charlie to talk, adopt a baby and teach Charlie to walk. She also has three fears: That giving a gift will be rejected, that Jim dies and that she’s not gonna get to have a snowball fight.

The wish to have a baby is very interesting here. You see, Yam has a clear wish to ADOPT a baby. This means that, if I biologically give her a child, her wish will not go away. The same thing when a sim has a wish to have a child; if you adopt a kid, the wish will not go away because they wanna have one biologically.

Luna wants to have kids biologically. She is not married to anyone, nor is dating anyone. However, she did have a thing with Matteo from University.

And… I do not support Lutteo but I used Matteo as a breeder. So, this is the Lutteo produced child, David

In the same household, we also got Simbar’s child, Lilith

Then MATTEO DIED OF FLIES. Yeah, you can die of flies in this game.

But Luna still wanted more kids, biologically. So, I did a thing.

Simbar is married, and I do not want to break them up by making someone cheat with Luna.

But if you have played the Sims 4, you know you can make a science baby. In the Sims 2, you can impregnate people without the need to woohoo with ”the Tombstone of life and death”, which is an object you get with cheats.

So, I decided it could be fun to mix some genes here. So, I impregnated Luna without her having to woohoo with the person.

Let me present Emil, the baby made from mixing Luna and Simón’s genes.

And I decided to, hey what the heck, let’s mix EVERYONE’s genes.

So, I made Ámbar pregnant too. With her and Luna’s genes.

This baby is named Lucia and Simón loves her just as if it was his own daughter 💜

So uh. Yeah we got a family where everyone has kids with everyone here. Not what I would do in my fanfics where I instead have some clear next gen OCs, but this game gave me some other plans.

Also… Luna has a wish to have 10 kids

The Sims 4 subreddit has an unquenchable thirst for Salim, but it feels very different from its love of Vladdy Daddy, Kyle Kyleson, and Victor Feng. This is because the rumor is that Salim Benali helps to produce very pretty babies. I have never had a sim of mine bed him, so I wouldn't know, but it's helpful information to have! He has been married to Kayla Flemming though, which is funny since he's lazy and she’s athletic.

Diego Lobo has always been like, hella gay to me. He's a spicy boy with very big opinions and a keen eye for visual art. As mentioned before, he usually gets with Izzy Fabulous. Diego Lobo is a hot-head, so he starts fights, but Izzy seems pretty good at getting him to calm down, or distract him by being goofy or tripping over something.

Penny Pizzazz is the brokest little fashionista we know, trying to get her blog about SanMy viral so that she can afford better shoes and authentic brand purses. She and Jesminder have always gotten together after the Bheeda Divorce (which always happens in my saves). They help raise the unborn Bheeda baby and co-parent with Arun very well. I'd probably get them to have a science baby together sometime.

Annnnnd with this post, I only have 10 sims left, aside from the ones that generate after the game gets played (like Erwin Pries and Greg). They'll be spread throughout something like 4-6 posts, depending on how I end up feeling as I edit them.

Just popping up to say I'm intrigued by the announced new life sim game by Paradox Interactive. EA and The Sims is in desperate need of a competition and who better to slap them back into reality than Rod Humble himself (maybe Will Wright, but padre is too busy playing with NFTs I guess).

That being said, I think some people need to calm down and don't expect a brand new life sim to instantly dethrone the giant. The Sims 4 is a shallow puddle with washed out cartoony graphics, but it's held up by over two decades of nostalgia. Paradox could serve us a ground-breaking fusion of The Sims 2 and 3 on a silver platter and you just know there will still be people complaining about missing elements iconic to the franchise we grew up with.

I can tell this is gonna be a tough list already. Lol. I don’t have a favorite sim death as I have a very hard time with letting go of my sims.  I guess the only time I’m less affected is in THE DEEP DOWN, where victims were collateral damage. Still, I had control over that. Random Sim deaths? Traumatized.

2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match?

Absolutely both. Maxis mix all the way.

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? 

This is an interesting question. Usually, no. But if the character tends to be fit by nature, and I come back and they’ve gained weight, I’ll cheat for story continuity. However, in gameplay mode, I’ll just have them work out.  If they are not into fitness, I just let it go and see where it leads.

I’ve always loved playing with fashion and fantastical looks / characters, but as my storytelling has grown, I am enjoying making more “everyday” sims. My latest obsession is middle aged and elder sims.

That’s a tough one. I’ve always loved city living, but if I’m being honest, I do love the world of Tartosa, even though we all know the gameplay is tragic. I’m loving growing together though.

I try not to think about it; sad that every new pack elicits such anxiety. New packs = week of playing my vanilla save, then another week of rebuilding my main save, then finally seeing if the pack is even worth it. Okay, rant over.

@withlovefromayre​ tagged me and although I feel awkward singling anyone else out to tag, I’m happy to answer these questions. Ramble incoming!

Are you named after anyone? This is very embarrassing, but in 2014 I changed my name to one of the regions of a world where a then-favourite game site was set. Five years later, when I couldn’t take the high-tension, high-drama events that site did at least twice a year or the way the site’s staff encouraged the greedy, heartless attitude of most of the other community members, I turned my back on the fandom and have regretted picking that particular name ever since. Either way, I just couldn’t live with my birth name any longer - that never felt like me, to put it mildly.

When was the last time you cried? Last week, when I had two major emotional crises in two days. Sometimes I feel so out of place on 21st century Earth that I want to sue the universe for misincarnation or something.

The second time it happened last week, my mum took me for a walk round the park across the street to help me calm down. Nothing could lift me out of the depths of despair though - until we were nearly home and she picked a dandelion and gave it to me to blow the seeds off. Getting to be a kid again for a couple of seconds helped me to smile again, and pulled me back from the brink. I’m going to buy myself a piece of jewellery with a dandelion on it, so I can remember how much it helped me.

Do you have kids? No, I acknowledge that I’m not cut out to be a parent or a partner. I do consider all nine generations of sims I’ve raised so far to be my babies, though.

Do you use sarcasm a lot? Sometimes, when I’m with someone I know won’t take it personally, like my mum. If I’m being completely honest, I can dish it out but I can’t take it.

What sports do you play/have you played? Truth be told, I’m a couch potato. Sixteen years of depression can do that to a person, though I am trying to get more active and healthy. However, I was very active as a child and I did once win a skipping rope race at my primary school sports day.

What is the first thing you notice about other people? Whether I feel comfortable around them or not. I’m autistic and I find it difficult meeting new people, but there are some people - including my regular support workers - who I’ve clicked with almost instantly. Others, I just get... spiky vibes or something from them.

Scary movies or happy endings? Definitely happy endings. I love musicals and Disney movies - and whatever I watch, it always helps for me to have a box of tissues handy. 

Any special talents? I’ve been told I’m very insightful. I’m good at language creation, wordplay, worldbuilding and writing, with a particular flair for comic verse. I can also create and edit mods for Sims 2. One day I’d like to publish fantasy novels for children and young adults who might be going through rough times, to offer comfort and escapism and not hit too close to home by setting them in our world.

Where were you born? Whipps Cross Hospital in Walthamstowe, London. Apparently David Beckham was also born there. *shrugs* Whatever.

What are your hobbies? Mostly it’s Sims 2, reading about and creating various fantasy worlds, solo roleplaying, Plants vs. Zombies 2, and my mum and I are currently hyperfixating on another game app, Two Dots, which I discovered by accident. I also love being out in nature and have planted some wildflower seeds around the park near my home.

Do you have any pets? At the time of writing, I have an aquarium with six fish - one male and three female platies, one rummy nose tetra and one silvertip tetra who is easily the boss of the aquarium - and there’s an indeterminate number of amano shrimp in there too. It’s been nearly 18 months since we had to say goodbye to our elderly dog, Charlie, and I still miss him, it doesn’t feel right without a clueless lump of fur around.

How tall are you? 5′4″.

Fave subject in school? School was a living nightmare for me, but I did enjoy writing and art. I used to cry myself to sleep on nights before geography lessons though, because although I love learning about other cultures, I couldn’t bear hearing about wars and natural disasters.

Thanks to @hd-literature for the invitation to also do this (for the record though that wasn’t my intention by reblogging yours, I was just enjoying learning a bit about your life). That said, I do like answering questions, so I’m going to.

Here are my answers to the 15 questions:

Are you named after anyone? My pen name is and it’s my favorite story ever so I’m going to share it with all of you. So there’s this book called “A Rainbow Thread” that’s about documented queer Jewish history going back to the 1st century CE. And one of the people discussed in it was named Moshko Kohen and lived in Arta, Greece in 1561. Moshko liked to have gay sex. I mean, he really liked to have gay sex. And the only reason we know about this is because his escapades were used to discredit his character as a witness in an unrelated court case. There’s no indication the sex itself got him in trouble, but it is talked about in some detail by multiple witnesses, including being seen with “a certain bachelor and being sexually penetrated by him” in an orchard, being seen at a familiar landmark where “a certain Turk was penetrating him with his consent,” and sleeping with some dude during his own dinner party before the other guests even left. Moshko himself never showed up to testify but a bunch of other local guys did. So my partner and I started saying “dammit, Moshko!” as a joke for “there they go being weird and gay again” and “a certain ___” as a joke in all random situations. So when I asked them what pen name I should use, they made a joke about somehow being a certain Moshko. I changed the spelling slightly so it’s pronounced Mosh-keh” instead, and Palmoni is Hebrew for “a certain one.” So there you go, an inside joke that kind of became reality. And an excuse to have a real Jewish pen name.

When was the last time you cried? All right, switching gears here! I’m actually pretty emotional. I get teary about shows and have fairly regular (though shorter than previously!) meltdowns. I’m going to be embarrassingly honest here—the last time I full on cried was 8 days ago, after a long and difficult day, when I discovered a dead bee that blew in the bathroom window and had to carry it outside to throw away. I have a phobia of bugs in general, especially stinging ones, but my partner is allergic so it had to be me. And yes I felt ridiculous as soon as I’d calmed down, but it was a hard week between moving, unpacking, painting, and getting used to a new neighborhood.

Do you have kids? Nope.

Do you use sarcasm a lot? Absolutely, though not as much as I used to. I’m more into puns these days.

What’s the first thing you notice about people? Generally their hair. I’m face blind (though certainly better at telling apart facial shapes and small details than when I was a kid), so the easiest way to recognize people is by their hair style or color.

What’s your eye color? Hazel like my mom.

Scary movie or happy endings? I really do like creepy stories but I can’t really handle truly scary stuff, and also I just like things to end happily. Tragic stories where the characters actually get to live a full life after are the best, but good stories that end too sadly can ruin it for me. I figure there’s too much of miserable endings in real life already, I need some hope in my fiction.

Any special talents? I used to be really good at archery. I plan to do it again once I can afford a really nice bow.

Where were you born? I’ll answer this kind of specifically since I don’t live there anymore—in the high desert of Central Oregon. I spent most of my life being surprised at how green things can be in places with actual rain.

What are your hobbies? Other than writing: knitting, playing select video games (90% Sims 4, but I also like FFXIV), and collecting historical journals and letters.

Do you have any pets? I have a lovely cat named after a household appliance. She’s the softest animal I have ever touched, like petting a cashmere sweater. She’s also weird though, obsessed with grooming people even when she’s not stressed out.

What sports do you play/have you played? I already used archery but I’m using it again because it’s the only sport I was ever any good at. I also played soccer though and liked it even if I was bad. I tried softball and cross country skiing, but hated them both.

How tall are you? Technically I’m exactly average, but wherever I go it seems like I’m the shortest adult there even in my work shoes, which make me an inch taller.

Favorite subject in school? Always English, I loved to write and get feedback on it and was extremely salty that I never had a reasonable excuse to take a creative writing class after I was like 15.

Dream job? Technically author, since it’s all I’ve ever wanted to do. But I also never assumed it would pay me enough to live on so dream day job would be historian, getting to comb through old documents and piece together forgotten lives. That took too much school though, and I figured there wasn’t enough demand, so I ended up with my backup dream day job.

Sims 4 Fontenot Legacy - Beach Day!

As has become sort of a reacurring family ritual, the adults at the Legacy House pack up the kiddos for a little fun under the Sulani sun! Yes, it's a beach day once more for the Fontenot Legacy!

The family is in full relaxation mode! Sabrina helps Juno build a sandcastle, Scarlett gets some knitting time in, Robin goes for a dip in the water, and Sigrid watches as the girls chat and play with each other. Additonally, Sabrina's friend Nyla also comes along for the trip, in need of her own beach day. The two also plan to discuss arrangements for Lakshmi's wedding, but first Nyla needs some tanning time 😆

In true Audrey nature, she manages to make a new friend with another little boy enjoying a beach day. This results in them working on a sabdcastle together. In true Alma nature, she heads off doing her own thing 😆

Sigrid: That little one yours?

???: Yeah. Milo.

Sigrid: Audrey's the one in the blue. Her twin Alma is in the yellow.

???: Twins, huh? I'm sure they're giving you a run for your money. Little Milo runs me ragged all on his own.

Sigrid: They're definitely full of energy, but thankfully I have help. Sorry, I haven't introduced myself. I'm Sigrid.

???: Coty. Nice to meet you. Nice tats, by the way.

Sigrid: Thanks! Like yours, too.

Robin watches Alma playing in the water, but that doesn't mean he doesn't notice the guy talking to his fiancée.

Sigrid: So, is Milo's mother around?

Coty: Nope, just me and him. Moved out to the islands from the reserve not so long ago. My father was from these lands. Felt it best to raise Milo in a place like this.

Sigrid: That's really admirable. I'm sure Milo loves the arrangement, too. Must be nice living right next to the ocean for a little one like him.

Coty: He's taken to it, for sure. What about you?

Sigrid: Me?

Coty: Who's helping you? Two kids is no easy feat.

Sigrid: Oh, uh, I have my fiancé and his family.

Coty: Oh, fiancé?

Sigrid: Yeah, we've been together a long time. Highschool sweethearts. We've had a long engagement on account of us getting pregnant. We plan to get married soon, finally.

Coty: Ah, well, many congratulations to you.

Sigrid pauses, noticing the faintest twinge in Coty's mouth as he gives his congrats. She clears her throat.

Sigrid: Ahem, uh, thanks. Well in any way, looks like we'll be seeing more of each other. Seems like our kids are attached now.

Coty: I agree. I've never seen Milo take to a new person quite so quickly. Audrey's special.

Sigrid: She sure is. Both of them are. They're twins, but both very unique. Apple of their parents' eyes. We're a happy little family.

Coty: I know the feeling. Milo is my world. Well, let me give you my number so we can arrange a playdate sometime. Wanna let the kids spend as much time together as possible.

Sigrid: Ah, right, thanks.

Coty: Well enjoy your beach day, Sigrid.

Sigrid: Likewise.

Everyone's having a great time at the beach. Audrey and Milo finish their sandcastle, Sabrina and Nyla get a chance to talk about wedding plans, Juno spends time with Grandma Scarlett, and Alma and Robin finish up their water time and head back onto the sand. That's when Sigrid approaches her fiancé, greeting him.

Robin: Hey there. Having fun?

Sigrid: The kids definitely are. Audrey's made a friend.

Robin: I saw that. Was that the kid's dad you were talking to?

Sigrid: Oh, yeah, his name's Coty. Kid's name is Milo.

Sigrid: They live on the island, just moved recently. Coty said his father was originally from Sulani. He and Milo are by themselves out here, so I'm glad Milo was able to bond with Audrey.

Robin: Hm. Milo's mother's not around?

Sigrid: Doesn't sound like it. He's such a cutie. Maybe after things calm down in the New Year we can set up a playdate for the kids.

Robin: Yeah, maybe after the wedding.

Sigrid: Here, I'll share his number with you. Maybe you two'll get along as well. Good for you to have some guy friends. Hey, maybe he can help with the treehouse!

Robin can't help but notice Sigrid's enthusiasm. He cherishes it, as it was always one of Sigrid's best qualities. Still, there's the slightest part of him that feels something other than joy. Jealousy? Pah, what is there to be jealous of? Sigrid loves Robin, and she's never looked at anyone else the entire time they've been together. There's too much history. They have a family. Sigrid would never leave that all behind. So why does Robin still feel this way?

Whatever it is, Robin resolves to push it away. He just needs to focus on his girls as always. Maintain the family he loves so dearly. Be the man his father would be proud of. Things will be fine.

Yeah. Just fine.

Markus: “I’m sorry, Alice, but the Jericho isn’t the safe haven you were made to believe it is. We’re under attack.”

Alice: “What does that mean, Markus?”

Yes, what exactly? In Sims 4, with all the characters on free will?

Markus: “Oh, it means that the DPD officers clean the showers and sinks in the crew cabins. They’re quite the neat bunch, very useful!”

Markus: “And officer Mack roasted sausages over an open fire. Fire hazard is a thing, but we thought he had earned a meal.”

Markus: “Then Detective Reed played the guitar for everyone. After him, others tried their hands at the instruments, too.”

Note: The fires denote DPD officers in full attack mode, the skulls are the Jericho members’ symbol. As you can see, the two groups are mingling freely and especially peacefully. The club system is nice, as long as you do not want it to simulate a gang war (what in fact is what I’d need it for the most, d’oh.)

Markus: “And at one point Connor and me were staring menacingly at each other. It was tense!”

Alice: “Are you sure you aren’t just saying this to calm me down...?”

My God, She’s Insane!

“What do you mean the world is ending?” Lily Belle was in shock as she read her letter.

“My boss? Out of all the people who would start the apocalypse, it’d be my boss? And I thought

she was the good one.” She didn’t understand what was happening. She had just gotten off work.

“My dearest angels,” she read the letter again, aloud this time. “It has been a pleasure to

guide you all. I know how hard it is to take care of the humans, I have been doing it for hundreds

of thousands of years. However, watching them daily with their ‘peaceful’ activities have gotten

boring. Which is why in three days, I shall do some experiments. Unnatural disasters will be

naturally happening. Acid rain will happen first. The next event is to be announced. This would

mean the work you do now in heaven shall be changed accordingly to their needs. You may use

this chance as an opportunity for a promotion.”

“She’s lost her mind. She has definitely lost her mind! I’m still new here. I’m already so

tired!” Lily was frantic. She searched for her list of addresses. “I need to go to her!”

Lily Belle was content with her job in heaven. She was a mere errand runner but, oh, did

she get tired already. She did not want to lose her job. Not before, and certainly not now. She

sprinted, sprinted so fast outside. Still, she could hear her fellow angels’ negative murmurs about

the new decisions. She was out of breath when she got to an elevator.

“Hell,” she panted, “I’m going to literal hell.” The elevator descended down to the said

place. Once again, she sprinted, looking for someone. “Lucille! Where in hell are you?”

“Lily? You’re in hell. Why are you— I’m working here! I need to impress my boss!” was

the first thing Lucille, a demon in training said to her.

“And my boss is planning to kill the humans!” Lily dragged her old friend back to the

elevator.

“Big boss man upstairs is planning to what?”

“Big boss lady upstairs is planning an extinction!”

As they were going up to heaven again, Lily was almost rapping with how fast she was

talking to Lucille. A combination of complaints said along the way with her summary. Lucille,

however, was just glad to see her old friend again.

“Alright, alright. Okay, Lily, okay. Calm down. So what I’m understanding is that God

got bored and decided to play The Sims 4 on humans. Is that right?”

“What’s The Sims 4?”

“It’s a game the humans made. Life imitates art.”

“I don’t understand you.”

“Whatever. Let’s just find a way to stop this. You know I hate unjust punishment.” It was

the truth. Lucille didn’t like the decision. Not because she cared for the humans, but because she

only wants the ones “worthy” of punishment to be punished. A fine demon she’ll become indeed.

There they spent the last three days holed up in Lily’s home, coming up with ideas on

how they’d be able to stop what’s about to happen. It was just them, their thoughts, and delivery

food. Lucille missed her a lot. It was time she told Lily something.

“Lily, you know, if we, uh, die because of this, I just want you to know that—“

“Luci, we’re not going to die. You’re being ridiculous! The plan is perfect. I’m sure of

it!”

The plan was far from perfect.

What Lily oversaw was a slight miscalculation in the schedules. She thought God would

release the rain after three days, not on the third day.

My God, she’s insane. It was the only sentence that ran through Lily’s head over and over

as a big cloud covered Asia.

“What now? Do we go down there?” Lucille didn’t blame Lily. She was always clumsy.

“The reason why I wanted to stop this is because I don’t want more work on my

shoulders. If we go down there, then what’s the point even? That’s more work.” Lily was

sulking, she wanted to quit.

“Well, I’m going down there with or without you. I don’t want another scenario like that

again.”

“Oh, That.” Lily sighed. The specific “that” they were referring to was the time when all

hell broke loose. Literally all hell broke loose. It was not a good sight for angels, humans, and

certainly demons, watch Satan escape from his cage and send a meteor to Earth.

“It was funny, though.” She tried to hide her chuckles.

“Lily, nothing was funny. I’m a demon and it was horrifying. Are you sure you’re an

angel?”

“We both know I didn’t choose to be an angel. But you’re right. Let’s go down there and

save who we can.”

With that, they both talked for a little bit again. Brainstorming for ideas on how to save as

much people as possible. They started in Japan, and stayed there for a few months. It was a

pitiful sight to see them build small communities, trying to bring back normalcy, only to see

hope disappear from their eyes once trees catch fire from the inside out. Whenever they seem to

get back on their feet, a new disaster comes. It was a never ending cycle. Lily turned her back

from her God, now with a new purpose. She couldn’t understand how a being so loving turn into

a monster.

Lily Belle and Lucille stayed on Earth. Gone are their old jobs. They’re what the humans

call the “new protectors.” The angels in heaven do little to nothing. They’ve gotten closer over

the past few months. Some close experiences with death here and there, but it’s nothing they two

can’t handle.

It was night, and for once, quiet, safe.

“Seems like no one wants that promotion.” Lucille laughs, enjoying the little peace they

have as of the moment.

“We were all underpaid anyways. Here is better.”

“Yeah? It better be.”

Eren (F/30yrs.): Okay our girl is down for the night again. Let's go over her stats for the day. Shall we everyone?

Christina (F/25yrs.): Alright I'm first. Today was my day to be in primary charge. So obviously she took it easy today. Thank Bast, it's not a school day! She would have been wiped out otherwise. Anyways mostly was spent playing The Sims 4 and a little bit of other crap too. The rest can fill you in for that stuff.

Eren: Thank you Chris. Now who's next?

Daniella (F/4billion+/25yrs): Our girl lost her cool at her game crashing and all her stuff in her library disappearing. I had her throw a pillow at a wall and scream. Don't worry, she didn't break anything [mutters] to my disappointment she didn't flip out worse. I gotta fix that later.

Eren: O...Kay...Who's next?

Ivory (F/25): That would be me. Our girl made dinner. A simple meal of spaghetti and meat chunks. She also made some fresh Texas toast to go with it. I also had her clean out her emails and reorganize her files. Plus she posted on Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter and watched a few TikToks and YouTube videos.

Eren: And that's the reason you're the smart one of us! Who else?

Vivianna [Ivy] (F/14yrs.) I really didn't have much to do aside from watching her vitals and making sure she did her bathroom business today a.k.a. BORING SH*T!! I was more productive in my realm than out here in HQ! By Apollo's bright shield! Why is our girl getting older!? She never has time for FUN anymore! The only reason she did the game today was because I put it in the docket for Chris's tasks! I could have done it myself but alas, duties called me back home for a while this afternoon.

Ivory: Oh? And what duties would those be?

Ivy: [blush]...you know...marital duties...and you won't be getting anything else from that!

Eren: Alright, okay. Before the young one has an aneurysm, Big voice! Anything to add?

Big Voice (my actual voice): Nope! Our girl had a small headache earlier this evening and she took medication for that. I told Chrissy to put on some calming music for our girl to sleep too. Oh! There was one more thing. HE is back and I'm not sure what to do.

{collective gasps of shock}

Eren: What you mean--

Jackie (M/26yrs): I'M BAAAACK B*TCHES!!!! Did ya miss me? Because I've missed you! *Jumps onto Ivy's desk* My oh My! How things have changed in 20 years of isolation. *Gasps* is that YOU little Vi? My goodness you've grown up! How old are you now? 18? 21?

Ivy: [bristles in fear] I'm almost 14 and 1/2. Hello Jackie.

Daniella: [angrily shouts] WHAT ARE YOU DOING BACK HERE!?! I THOUGHT ISOLATION MEANT A PERMANENT PURGE!! Just like with our girl's imaginary "friends"!!

Jackie: Well ya got me!? One minute I'm chilling in my isolation chamber and suddenly it cracks and breaks open. I'm free for the first time since my girl was almost 6! Woo-Hoo!! *Dances a jig*

Ivory: I'm sorry, approximately HOW long ago did it break?

Jackie: Oh in July...

Christina: JULY!?! That was 10 months ago! Why would it--

Eren: Oh my creator...it...it couldn't have...

Ivory: What? Spit it out witch!

Eren: Remember when host body got news she lost her dad in a car accident?

{they all nod}

Eren: That is probably when his chamber broke. Our girl's emotional state was almost zombie like for 3 weeks. Then came the actual insanity! We blamed Dani for that!

Dani: and I'm STILL pissed about that!

Ivory: Now we know...

Jackie: Yeppers! That's what would do it! A strong enough out of control situation would bring me back! Just like when host body's aunt and sister moved out. That's when I was sealed away. Host body became miserable and could barely keep up with home life! Why I bet the passing thought of running away came up A LOT in meetings. Now. What have I missed?
