This is highkey relatable, I had so many teachers in high school who seemed to hate their jobs and the kids they taught and only liked the “mature” kids, like we get it you wanted to be a college professor but you’re teaching us so at least put some effort into it

right! and at the time i was like “ah yes i’m Mature and Smart :)” but now it’s like... fucked. if you are teaching, you should like kids. teenagers are some frustrating motherfuckers, they are horrible and beautiful and clumsy and elegant in unexpected and fascinating ways, they are bound up into contradiction, they are trying their fucking best. if you can’t find a way to empathize with that, to be honored to be part of that process in some way, to treat them with dignity and humanity no matter what stage they’re at in their lives, you shouldn’t be teaching.

and all you do when you play favorites with the “mature kids” is give them a fucking superiority complex while they’re in school and then later they realize they were never valued for like, their thoughts or talents, just their “maturity” that they probably only developed as a result of deepset insecurity that few people ever thought needed examining 

i know i’m highkey on a rant but i’m both 1. thinking about the kind of teacher i want to be and 2. reeeeeally angry at at least one former teacher in particular who i thought was hot shit at the time but have realized in the last several years didn’t really care much about her students or her job

Being Pride month I thought I would post a song I learned when I first started playing guitar. Long before I had “come out” to anyone including myself. The album “the con” by Tegan and Sara was an album I bought by fluke, because I thought it looked cool! Pride month is far more than just parades and parties, and it’s for more than just those who fall under the queer umbrella. It’s for everyone who has been on a journey and found out who they are. Not only found out who they are, but accepted themselves for who they are, and who they are becoming. We should all be proud of our sexuality no matter what it may be. Be you! None of us are perfect no matter how hard we may try. We’re all stuck on this planet together so let’s fill it with LOVE! 1. How has your day been?

J'ai dodo jusqu'à 13h puis j'ai fait une sieste de 16h à 20h. J'ai appelé un ami dans l'après-midi, bossé mes cours et mes lettres de formation, bossé mon chinois, là je mange mon taboulé en parlant à mon copaing avec une infusion à l'ananas tout en bossant sur la lettre de recommandation de ma stagiaire ❤️

Mon album de chats qui pleurent que j'ai envie d'envoyer comme réponse aux mails de boulot

3. What’s keeping you entertained these days?

Je passe mon temps à jouer à Stardew Valley, une simulation de ferme et de vie et à Fire Emblem. Puis je lis pas mal quand j'arrive à me concentrer et sinon je fais quelques exercices, je cherche des memes pour alimenter mon Instagram et je bosse mes cours. Je vis ma meilleure vie en confinement parce que c'est mon quotidien même sans confinement et ça c'est classe

J'ai été exposé à un ami qui avait le corona et j'ai moi-même eu des symptômes quelques jours alors je sors très peu si ce n'est pour tousser sur les vieux qui prennent un caddie pour deux articles et les gens qui sont à trois sur un même trottoir
