An open letter to a few.

Marie; I know we didn't always see eye to eye, but knowing you and looking up to you made all the difference in my life. Without you, I wouldn't have been the captain I became. We got so much closer after I woke up from that coma, and for that, I am genuinely grateful.

Callie; You were my biggest supporter. I'll never forget the personal hand you had in my earliest training as an agent. The day you and Marie claimed me as your little sister genuinely changed the course of my life. I wish I could tell you how it means to me that you were both there when I woke up.

Four; I regret every day not pushing you to come to Splatsville with us. I know things between you and Marie were tense, but I really needed you there. You were supposed to be my second in command, my right hand just like I promised. After losing Five, the idea of losing you too was just too much. You were my best friend, and I will always miss my favorite sparring buddy. I hope you're still chasing that S rank.

Five; ...if you even exist, out there somewhere, I want you to know that even now, I haven't forgiven myself for not being fast enough to save you. It should have been me instead. Don't worry, big brother. I killed every last elite octarian who had a hand in your death. Your memory remains in mine.

Cuttlefish; How dare you. You made me captain. You put that trust in me and immediately undermined my authority! I was a child when you recruited me and so were my sisters, so was my brother and my best friend. Why couldn't you let me decide for myself whether or not to recruit another child? ...despite that, I looked up to you. Octavio said once we're a lot alike. I've seen the pictures, I think I see it too. I hope I made you proud, at least.

Octavio; You have no idea how much I looked up to you, do you? You were my first big fight, my reason for being an agent to begin with. I value your opinion above all else, just like I did then. You watched me grow up. I don't regret cracking that snow globe for you. And I forgive you, if you can forgive me.

Eight; I know who you are, and I don't hold this life's actions against the octoling I knew and loved. Thank you for showing me a side of octarians that I never would have known and for giving me the resolve to make amends with Octavio. Maybe there is another Eight out there with your same compassion and drive.

Neo, or Three; ...hey kid. You made me proud. Still do, wherever you are. I don't know if we really were related or not, and it doesn't matter. You were my son anyway. Best protégé I could have asked for, and there's no one better to take on the title of Agent Three. I saw myself in you from the moment we met. Being there for your personal training was everything to me.

I will be keeping an eye on this correspondence -- please, if you're out there, say something. I miss you all and would give anything to meet you again.
