Paul is Richie's uncle headcannons are really cute, but consider alternatively:

Paul has no family living in Hatchetfield. He never had any siblings, and his parents retired in Florida or something, so he only sees them a couple times a year. He's always had a small family, and just kind of figured he always would.

Then he starts dating Emma, and things are going well, so she introduces her to Tom and Tim. He knows just how important re-connecting with her family is to Emma, so he tries really hard to make a good impression whenever they visit. Tom and Paul don't have much in common, and don't really hit it off at first, but Tim thinks he's great. This a surprise to Paul, since he doesn't really think he's good at talking to kids (and tbh he's kinda not), but despite that Tim really likes him. Maybe they bond over liking the same kinds of movies, maybe Tim just likes that he seems like a good listener, but the dynamic just clicks. Whenever Emma is coming over, Tim asks "is uncle Paul coming too?". Tim shows Paul a bunch of his favorite video games, and Paul is actually really good at helping Tim with his homework. Emma is stoked that Tim and Paul get along well and that she's becoming a closer part of the family, and Paul actually finds the whole "uncle" thing really fulfilling. This ends up being the catalyst to Emma and Paul having a more serious discussion about whether or not they want kids; maybe they do, maybe they don't, either makes sense to me, but either way Paul is really excited about becoming a closer part of the family

God, Emma D’Arcy as Rhaenyra is just awe inspiring.

Whether you care for the character or not, Emma imbues such a poignant intensity to her that at times gives me chills.

Just exquisite.

in 3x22 the scene when emma & killian run into each other in the dungeons is basically right after the scene captain charming is bonding by the fire, charming clearly under the impression that their names are charles & leia.

when the two groups meet up with each other (depriving killian of his dashing rescue), they address each other as "swan" and "hook".

charming is in the background just assuming they're cute little nicknames they have for each other.

Emma and Izana both were killed on the same day and left mikey alone. Emma missed her older brother who was taken away from her when she was young and wanted to comfort her other older brother who comforted her ever since they first met. Izana wanted a family to the point where misdirected jealously towards mikey made him agree to killing his precious little sister, which he regretted in his last moments. He missed her and always wanted to reunite with her, we see that in his letters. He wanted to come back for Emma. Mikey knew his brother wasn't well and went to save him even though his sister was killed by him. Mikey wanted to be izanas family, but that was taken away from both of them again. This tragedy happened all on the same day. It's almost like that day, that group, that person, is behind the siblings never getting their happy ending with eachother where they can live with eachother as a normal family.
