when I first started this blog five years ago, I had no idea what would come from it. I was just messing around, making silly music for myself! just stealing a meme from @paulsrockinpagoda and seeing what I could do with it!

You ripped your earbuds out by their cord when you saw the figure in the doorway staring at you with a confused look on his face. The Author of the Journals. A blush creeped up your cheeks. This wasn’t the first time you’d been caught my a member of the Pines family while you were rocking out. Stan would make fun of you while Dipper and Mabel would join you. However, this was the first time you’d been embarrassed when caught like this.

You tossed the sauce spoon lazily back into whatever you were cooking. “It’s a really good song,” you defended. Mockingly, the beat continued to pound through your headphone even though your NanoPod was shoved deep in your pocket, cords and all. You’d have a hell of a time untangling them later. “What can I do for you? You hungry? Coffee?”

“What were you listening to?” His tone wasn’t mocking. He seemed genuinely curious.

Every race in highland park has this same out and back from mile 3.5-5, and it's HORRIBLE, and I'm running it tomorrow in the turkey trot and im trying to strategize how to make it go FAST. Here's what's bad about it: It goes through a military housing neighborhood with no trees and identical houses, so nothing to look at. The road is REALLY domed, so my right hip, which is on the downhill both ways, is SCREAMING by the end (I try to run in the center of the road here as much as I can) For some reason, cars feel the need to go in and out the entire time-- every race is entirely residential but this is the only place I ever have to deal with cars!!

I am thinking that I'm going to make playlist that's just likeAll Too Well 10m v followed by Carly Rae Jepson and maybe a Bleachers song to just really power me through. All to Well should take me through most of it and I'll just focus on the words and not the nightmare of my least favorite stretch of running in town. also the strip between mile 5 and 6 where you can see the street name is SUPER hilly, so that's a tough ending!! Chicago is flat but my town is really not, there's a reason we're called Highland Park! It's high here and the way you get high is up a hill!
