Throwback Thursday #tbt To the time I was 19 years old sitting in 5 seat in the Cal Varsity boat in the finals at the prestigious Henley Royal Regatta on the Thames rowing event in England. We rowed against Cambridge/Queens Tower Eight event in the finals in the summer of 1999. Our bow seat was severely ill with chicken pox but he raced anyway and it would be the first loss since starting my career at Cal 2 years earlier. We beat the British 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 lightweight national (‘Notts’) team and a German national team crew to make the finals by fell short.
