Architect Leandro Garcia has renovated an apartment for a family’s holiday home near the beach in Matinhos, Brazil and filled it with vintage Brazilian furniture.

Measuring 158 square metres, the three-bedroom unit is close to a sandy beach called Praia Mansa de Caioba and has views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Garcia renovated the unit, aptly named Praia Mansa Apartment, by expanding the living area to feature an open-plan kitchen, dining room and living area. Walls at the entrance were removed and replaced with a bookcase made of local freijó wood, which is similar to American walnut.

The wooden structure adds privacy to a hallway that accesses the three bedrooms. The cabinet has storage cabinets, a nook for the television, and open shelves for displaying objects, such as a Pião bowl by Curitiba-based Ana Penso and vases by São Paulo designer Nicole Toldi and Alva Design.

The invited artist, Antonio Peticov, lends his creativity giving life to the hydraulic tiles and the neon sculpture, which marks the cabin in a spectrum of colors of the rainbow. “I believe that nature needs to be more and more present, reconnecting and filling spaces previously occupied by furniture and objects,” says the architect. The bamboo lends to the entrance of the hut, its symbology of lightness, flexibility and strength.

The hydraulic tiles, designed by the invited artist Antonio Peticov, jump from the canvas and come to life joining art and design. The furniture sculpture of forest residue, by designer Hugo França, embraces the benches of Bruno de Carvalho. The ceramics, by Hideko Honma, translate sensibility and oriental peace with Brazilian soul. Bruno comes in again with the Sela suspended chair. Grown in the countryside he brings, in his pieces, the affective memory of the farm. Victor Affaro, through his eyes, in the photograph of Dunas, makes an allusion to Niemayer’s centuries-old modernist architecture and curves, in compass with the Sinatra lamp, signed by Arthur Casas.

The Xingu Indians, by photographer Renato Soares, are the guardians of the couple when they go to sleep in the coral bed, illuminated by Le Corbusier. The sculpture “The Leader”, by Peticov, marks the hut with its neon light in the spectrum of rainbow colors. Much green suggested by the landscape gardener Renata Tilli surrounds the bathtub, which appears like a sculpture in the middle of the forest. The bench, made by the hands of Inês Shertel, adorns and composes a poetic scene in the middle of something fresh and contemporary.

The Vidigal armchair made from the taboa fiber, that is an abundant aquatic plant in Brazil, reinforces Brazilian DNA design. İran'lı çizer "Göçmenler" karikatürüyle dünya basın karikatür yarışmasının galibi oldu

Mali sıkıntılardan dolayı bir yıl askıya alınan Dünya Basın Karikatürü Yarışması geri döndü.

12.si düzenlenen yarışmaya Portekiz’in başkenti Lizbon’a 90 km uzaklıktaki Caldas da Rainha kenti ev sahipliği yaptı.

Yarışmada Big Bang müzik grubu, Belçikalı mizahçı Eliiot ve Portekiz Martia Rueff sahne aldı.

Grand Prix’nin kazananı “Mizahi Karikatür”, “Baş Sayfa karikatürü”, “Portre Karikatür” olmak üzere üç farklı kategorinin kazananları arasından seçildi.

Büyük ödülün sahibi “Göçmenler” isimli eseriyle Baş Sayfa Karikatürü dalındaki çizer İranlı Alireza PAKDEL oldu.

Alireza Pakdel: “Hep böyle bir ödülün hayalini kurdum. Çalışmaya ilk başladığım yıllardan bu yana keşke Dünya Karikatür Ödülü’nü bir gün kazanabilsem diyordum. Şimdiyse iki ödül birden kazandım.

“Göç” konusu geçtiğimiz yıl karikatüristlerin ana temaları arasında yer aldı.

Uluslararası davetlilerden oluşan juri 51 ülkeden gelen 267 karikatür arasından seçim yaptı. Söz konusu eserlerde karikatüristlerin bakış açısından önemli kişiler ve güncel olaylar resmedildi.

Kountouris: “Dünya Basın Karikatürü son yıllarda karikatüristlerin ihtiyaç duyduğu bir yarışma. Geçtiğimiz yıllar karikatüristler açısından zor zamanlardı. Charlie Hebdo saldırısından hapisteki Türk karikatürist Musa Kart’a kadar karikatüristlerin hedef alındığı çok sayıda olay yaşandı. Dolayısıyla Dünya Basın Karikatürü gibi bu tür yarışmalar basın sanatının ve karikatüristlerin bu zor yıllarda ihtiyaç duyduğu bir organizasyon.”

Baş Sayfa Karikatürü dalında ikincilik ödülünü Fransa’nın Nice kentindeki saldırıyı (14.07.2016) resmeden Yunan asıllı Michael Kountouris kazandı.

Dünya genelinde karikatüristlerin favori “kurbanları” arasında ABD Başkanı Donald Trump vardı.

Portre Karikatür kategorisinde üçüncülük ödülüne uzanan isim Trump karikatürüyle İtalyan kadın sanatçı Mariagrazia QUARANTA oldu.

“Karikatür dünyası hala erkek egemenliğinin olduğu bir alan. Çok değerli kadın karikatüristler de var. Hep beraber dünyayı kendi açımızdan tanıtmaya çalışıyoruz: Barışçıl bir dünyanın hayaliyle yaşıyoruz.”

Karikatürler sergisi Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro’nun eserleriyle bilinen şehir Caldas da Rainha’da 10 Ağustos’a kadar halka açık olacak.

Bir yıl aradan sonra adeta küllerinden doğan Dünya Basın Karikatürü, festivalin kurucusu ve yönetmeni için büyük anlam ifade ediyor.

“İnandığım bir projenin devamı niteliğini taşıyor. Karikatür dünyasında kendini kabul ettiren ve hızla ilerleyen bir proje. Bu şekilde ilerlemesi normal. Aksi anormal olurdu.”

Serginin yapıldığı kentin Belediye Başkanı’na ise yeni fikirler veriyor.

Fernando Manuel Tinta Ferreira: “Fikirlerimizin sonuna kadar gidersek bu organizasyon basındaki karikatürler için kalıcı bir sergi mekanı oluşturmak adına başlangıç noktası olabilir. Bu kent Portekiz’in ‘karikatür kalesi” haline gelebilir.”

La Grand Prismatic Spring (letteralmente: Grande Sorgente Prismatica) nel Parco nazionale di Yellowstone è la più grande sorgente calda negli Stati Uniti, e la terza più grande del mondo,dopo Frying Pan Lake in Nuova Zelanda e Boiling Lake in Dominica.

Essa si trova nel Midway Geyser Basin ed è situata a circa 12 chilometri a nord del celebre geyser Old Faithful.

La sorgente venne denominata così dai geologi della spedizione Hayden del 1871 per via della sua sorprendente colorazione.

I suoi colori brillanti,in parte dovuti alla presenza di organismi termofili, sono simili a quelli di un arcobaleno generati dalla dispersione della luce bianca da parte di un prisma ottico: rosso, arancione, giallo, verde e blu.
