"well could you, please?" florence felt nervous around veronica. one short semester at hearst, over a decade ago, and she hadn't thought that anyone in neptune would have remembered her at all. she hardly left a lasting impression. but then she ran into the one person she'd actually had more of a conversation with, and slowly veronica had started pulling at a thread that could unravel her whole life. all of her lies. expose her for who she was.

she held herself steady, as if she was someone who didn't have anything to hide. she was just a stranger who happened to bear something of a resemblance to someone veronica knew years ago. that was the story she had to get her to believe. "i don't know who your friend is. this one you knew at college. the least you could do is leave me alone. i don't know you, you don't know me, and i don't appreciate you invading my privacy like this." lies came a lot easier to her now than they used to, but even then they weren't perfect. but they had to be good enough.

sarah had always been a firm believer in what she could see, and what she could see only. anything other than that was imagination and childhood nightmare --- something you grew up from. world was rocked when she met the winchester's. eyes opened to a whole other side of the world, and she wanted to be prepared. so she learned all she could, learned what she could. would never be unprepared again.

It's more of an observation than a compliment, although House is no stranger to hiring someone based on their appearance. He's done it before with Cameron and Chase, and even with some temps who came before them. However, when he does, there's always something behind that piques his interest.

Dr. Hart's credentials are solid, as is her family history. But that will only get her shortlisted: she still has to go through the trials.
