I just need a place to put them. I sent out an email to someone today hoping there’s at least one bedroom on the first floor (ten out of ten orthopedists say Kats can’t do stairs). Saturday is my last day here and I’m not sure what day it is. But I know I’d like to get my stuff out of storage again and teach some folx how to sew! Throwback Thursday... throwback to the days when I was able to work on my cafepress shop! I’ve got to the end of the month to find a new place. Got a potential roommate but we need a place I can get in & out of (darn you disabled body!). If I can get a place where I can set up my laptop (assuming it’s functional... I couldn’t find my charger before I moved) I can try revamping the shop and put in some masks and stuff and maybe change some graphics. Maybe try another graphic site. I’ve got a good black cat graphic made finally in the laptop but I’d like to get an updated AI program before working on it again. I’d also like to hear from folx what they’d like to see. If you’re on the front lines; THANK YOU, take care of yourself, and remember that there are folx who appreciate what you’re doing. If you know someone on the front lines; try to do something for them like making a mask, giving them a treat (chocolate, energy bars/drinks, quick meals etcetera), give them a gift card, offer to do a shopping trip, get them tp, ask them what they need, offer a listening nonjudgmental ear, send them a stuffed toy... the list goes on. Remember that there are lots and lots of folx on the front line, seen and unseen. Medical field includes not just the doctors and nurses but the phlebotomists and lab techs, the aides and cooks, the janitorial staff and so on. There are police, firefighters, paramedics and EMTs. There are also gas station attendants, cashiers, trash collectors, and all the others who are essential to the smooth running of society. Be kind to one another. When you see someone being unkind, don’t be afraid to call them out. Not meanly but something like “Are you okay?” They’ll ask why and then you can say “Well you’re acting very rude and you don’t look like the kind of person who would be rude so I wondered if something was wrong.” This gives them an out. A reason for them to have been an a** and then back up and behave. If we ignore bad behavior then we condone it. Let’s praise good behavior and call out the bad and make this world a better place for everyone. Hmmmm maybe I should have put up the soapbox graphic! Gray Cat is one of my favorites of my various cats in my cafepress shop (link in bio). I made Gray Cat because I wasn’t able to make a black cat that I liked. I finally managed it but it was only last year and I haven’t had the energy to even try upgrading my shop. Some day. Gray Cat reminds us that it’s okay to not be cheerful and bright in the holiday season. Trying too hard can be exceedingly stressful. Remember, you don’t have to have a happy holiday. It’s purrfectly fine to just be there, to want to sit in a corner and read or play a game, to even not go out if you don’t want to. Just try to keep in touch with others and use a full spectrum light when you can to help with the Winter doldrums.
