Belated Celebrations! Place: Cafe Koi Location: downtown Calgary Cuisine: Asian Fusion So I've been wanting to try this place since forever! I was definitely craving something healthyish like The Coup, but decided to try a new spot. I loved the interior of the restaurant (sorry for the lack of pictures), it was chill and modern and also had a stage for all their events that they have almost on a daily basis. They have jazz nights, open mic nights, hip hop nights etc. We decided on a Riesling of course =]. A GERMAN Riesling those are the best! And for the appetizer we had popcorn salmon! I thought it was so cute cause it was almost like a spin on popcorn chicken haha. They were bite sized lightly panfried with vegetables; a nice start to the meal. For the mains we had the Bonsai Beef and Crouching Tiger! So good! I love how the food here was healthy Chinese food. It didn't seem as greasy or MSG infested. The bonsai beef was fabulous! Tender pieces of beef with vegetables and shanghai noodles; the crouching tiger, large pieces of prawn, veg and peanuts on a bed of rice. Delicious ! Definitely want to come here again for their curries =] Two fins up for Cafe Koi! -Happy Eating!
