On another page, this house in a remote area of Lincoln, Montana gave us serial killer lair vibes, woodchipper and all. 3bs, 1ba, $385K.

No one for miles and look at the road. Just a path. It looks like it could grow back.

This looks very lonely. I'm always fascinated by homes in the middle of nowhere. I saw power lines outside, but "a propane fireplace, as well as a wood burning stove, provide dual heat sources."

I don't know what's on the TV, but there're 2 satellite dishes.

It does have a full kitchen with a washer/dryer.

I thought this was a dishwasher under a window, b/c that's how it looked on my laptop. Then, when I looked at it on my phone, I saw that it's the fridge opened up! Everything is so much more vivid on the phone. How disappointing.

I'm guessing that you come down here from the property and get on a paved main road.

MADISON – A bipartisan group of legislators is reviving a bill that would eliminate charging minors for prostitution by clarifying children cannot legally consent to sex with an adult.

Lawmakers are hoping that by codifying any child under the age of 18 will not be prosecuted, they will be encouraged to come forward as victims and report their abusers.

"We need to treat these kids as sexual assault victims," said Sen. Jesse James, R-Altoona, who is a police officer in the Village of Cadott. "Otherwise we are feeding the narrative of the sex trafficker that they are the only ones who can protect them."

The "safe harbor" bill was introduced in 2017 and again in 2019 and 2021, but has never gained approval by the full Legislature. Thirty other states and Washington D.C. have enacted similar legislation.

The new legislation is being sponsored by James, Rep. Jill Billings, D-LaCrosse, and Rep. Joel Kitchens, R-Sturgeon Bay.

Billings has been working on the legislation since the beginning. This time, she's cautiously optimistic there is legislative support but said with the turnover of the Legislature, there needs to be reeducation on the issue.

"Many people don't understand the face of human trafficking," Billings said.

Some elected officials have raised concerns passage of safe harbor legislation would legalize prostitution. Politifact has investigated such claims and given them a "Pants on Fire" rating.

Others have suggested the best thing to do is arrest children and have them work off the crime, Billings said.

"Children who are trafficked are dealing with sexual trauma and sometimes drug abuse," Billings said. "I argue there is no other crime where we charge an individual who has the abuse rendered against them."

Since 2015, sex trafficking has been categorized as child abuse and law enforcement agents have been allowed to remove a child from the abusive environment via child protection laws. The act also requires cases to be referred to child welfare agencies instead of going through the court system.

But the possibility of children being criminally charged for prostitution remains.

Sex trafficking affects urban, rural, and tribal communities, with all 72 counties reporting cases. The state received an ‘F’ on its annual child and youth sex trafficking report card from Shared Hope International and ranked 33rd overall nationwide.

James said he has asked the Department of Justice how many children in Wisconsin are being prosecuted for their own abuse. He doesn't believe it is many, which is why he said he wants to get this law passed, so there is clarity.

Claudine O’Leary, a Milwaukee youth advocate, said in Milwaukee County there is an informal agreement not to prosecute children, but that could change if a new district attorney were elected.

O'Leary said some of the resistance to passing a safe harbor law comes from advocates worrying there are not enough community services to protect children in danger.

"The idea of having the ability to charge a minor in your back pocket and put them in the court system that is required to give them services is something some folks in smaller counties want to hold onto," O'Leary said. "It's not that people want the child charged, it's that there isn't faith in what will happen if they don't charge."

James said he would like to see victimized children work with child protective services to identify their abusers and hopefully double the number of arrests for traffickers in Wisconsin.

In 2000, Congress passed the Trafficking Victims Protection Act, protecting and assisting human trafficking victims while penalizing their abusers more severely, but it has not solved the issue.

According to the National Human Trafficking Hotline’s 2021 Annual Report, 2,078 tips were reported for sex trafficking cases involving minors nationwide. The average age of a child victim is 12-14 years old.

In the mean time Someone shared the WHOLE RockFest show on YouTube. It is worth to watch, 1st because it's a very good performance regardless the bad conditions, 2nd that the beef between Ronnie and Cadott isn't over yet, many exaggerations, mean distortions and lies come up from "fans" (probably not fans in real) about what happened and what did Ronnie say from the stage. Must believe only what we see, here you are the (proof) video:

Cadott crowd is still mad, and Ronnie is teasing them as often as he can. His fans took place on his side backing him up whenever it needs. This is what Ronnie posted yesterday, and here's what I posted collecting the comments from my YT channel on the topic.

In the mean time, during the last week he posted a poll on Twitter about who should be one of FIR's next opening bands.

Carrie (2002)

If no other adaptation of Stephen King’s Carrie existed, this 2002 made-for-TV movie might have been worth recommending. While the running time is excessive and it’s lacking in scares/suspense, the source material is strong and Angela Bettis as the lead character offers a good performance. Unfortunately, all you can think of while watching is “Brian De Palma did it better in 1976”.

Carrie White (Angela Bettis) is a friendless, socially awkward teen living under the rule of her domineering mother (Patricia Clarkson) - a woman obsessed with purging all “sin” from their lives. Knowing nothing of puberty, Carrie panics when she experiences her first menstrual period at school and is ridiculed by the girls in her class. Punished by the kind Miss Desjardin (Rena Sofer) for her bullying, Chris (Emilie de Ravin) plans on humiliating Carrie on prom night, unaware Carrie is developing telekinetic powers.

At 132 minutes, this is the longest film version of Carrie by far and I don’t know why director David Carson held onto the bits that obviously needed to be cut. It’s one thing to stay faithful to the source material, but did the scene showing that time a meteor shower nearly burned down the White home add anything? There are other moments that while not useless, don’t contribute much to the whole. For example, the first time we meet the school Principal (Laurie Murdoch), he’s a complete fool, repeatedly calling Carrie by the wrong name and generally acting like he’s never dealt with teenagers before. The next time we see him, he’s confronting Chris’ bully of a father with expertly curated material and the confidence that shows he takes his job seriously. So which one is it? Of all the character inconsistencies, however, the worst by far is Chris and her boyfriend, Billy (Jesse Cadotte). Since Chris goes to the same school as Carrie and orchestrates the legendary prank that will humiliate her, you’d think she’d be the one in charge but the second Billy shows up, she acts like she’s being strongarmed into this operation. It makes no sense.

The story is told in flashbacks to the police by Sue Snell (Kandyse McClure) and Miss Desjardin, which is something we haven’t technically seen before, though it does give away too much of the ending. A scene shows us how Carrie has been kept in the dark on sex ed and the like, which explains why she doesn’t have access or knowledge of how to use the internet. It makes everything more believable than in the Chloë Grace Moretz version. Other than the framing device, the topic of the World Wide Web and a conclusion that leaves itself open to be continued in a series, this Carrie does nothing new. It’s just a beat-for-beat repeat of what we’ve seen before. The themes are not re-imagined or re-contextualized in any meaningful ways, the movie has nothing to say about bullying, teenage girls or religious obsession. Why was this even made? So they could continue the story in a TV show that didn’t materialize. Even if you know that there really doesn’t feel like there was a point at all.

I suppose I should also mention the special effects, which range from “ok for TV” to “bad, even for ’00s era TV”. Their quality doesn’t really matter in the end because you would’ve forgiven them had the picture been great, and it isn’t. It’s another example of a film that would’ve been better - or at least more memorable - if it was worse. 2002's Carrie is not scary, or tense but it is well-acted and, ultimately, unnecessary.
