Frequently Asked Questions

What’s a ship week?

A ship week is a fan event where for a week we make works about one ship! Think about it like Inktober, you get one different prompt for each day and you make something out of it, but with the same medium, or, in this case, same ship!

Is this only for fanfiction/fanart?

No! You can use whatever medium you desire for the prompts. The most common methods are fanfiction and fanart, but if you want to create a cosplay or some fake social media posts or anything else your creative heart desires, go for it!

Do I have to do both prompts each day?

No! Each day is designed to have two options, one of which is good for fanart as well as fanfic. You CAN choose to do both prompts if you want, or incorporate both prompts into a single work, but it's designed to give some options and variety!

Do we have to create each piece during its own day?

Nope! Some people like the challenge of creating something different every day, but you can totally prepare them in advance if you want to. You don’t even have to complete all of the prompts, you can do just the few you like, no pressure!

How do I participate?

Just create whatever you like with the prompts you’re given and post them under the “#CadinaWeek” and “#CadinaWeek2024” tags on Tumblr. We will also have an AO3 collection (keep reading for more info on this).

What's this about an AO3 collection?

Once our AO3 account is fully set up, we will be creating a collection for Cadina Week that you can submit your works to. We will be moderating this lightly, just to make sure that it's actually Cadina Week submissions and not spam, but we welcome all who want to participate!

Can I post NSFW?

Yes, please just make sure it is appropriately tagged on Tumblr and/or AO3!

Summary

It was almost entertaining watching her mom try to stutter out an explanation, her mouth opening and closing like a trout as her eyes widened in panicked surprise. She looked like a kid caught with her hand in the cookie jar.

It would be more amusing to Cady if the person her mother was dating wasn’t her teacher of all people.

(Cadina Week Day 4: Fluff— Cady’s mother invites Regina over so that she can properly meet her as heer daughter’s girlfriend, while also introducing her own girlfriend to Cady. Turns out, her girlfriend is someone both Cady and Regina know really well. Cadina focused.)

Hey! I missed seeing an “A thousand pictures in my mind” update this weekend! (Not meant to be a pressure to update thing just an I was thinking of you thing) I hope you’ve had a great week! I look forward to all the great Cadina Week stuff you’ve been working on!

I'm missing the updates too!! Originally my plan was to upload a chapter or two of a thousand pics while continuing to work on my cadina week stuff but um... As we all know, I cannot be concise. Like, physically impossible. So my cadina week work has led to a MUCH bigger undertaking than I originally imagined LOL

In compensation for the lack of thousand pics updates, here's a list of which prompts I'm doing, and if they have a specific AU associated with them :)

1. Jealousy - thousand pics au

2. College - no specific au

3. Bed Sharing - psych ward au

4. Fluff - thousand pics au

5. Hurt/Comfort - thousand pics au (but an au of the au. Non canon to the actual thousand pics, unlike the other ones)

6. AU - a brand new au that I'm EXTREMELY excited about and I think everyone is going to eat the fuck up. This beast is already around 45k words and is currently sitting at 2 chapters. Oops!

7 Free Day - thousand pics au but my exact plan on this may change

I've finished 3, am partway through 1 & 5, and well, 6, but I continue to chip away at that over time. I'm probably still going to be working on 6 right up until it gets released... I won't spoil more about what it is, exactly, because i want it to be a surprise, but my friends who I've sent previews to have gone absolutely FERAL for it, so... Get EXCITED!
