Frequently Asked Questions

What’s a ship week?

A ship week is a fan event where for a week we make works about one ship! Think about it like Inktober, you get one different prompt for each day and you make something out of it, but with the same medium, or, in this case, same ship!

Is this only for fanfiction/fanart?

No! You can use whatever medium you desire for the prompts. The most common methods are fanfiction and fanart, but if you want to create a cosplay or some fake social media posts or anything else your creative heart desires, go for it!

Do I have to do both prompts each day?

No! Each day is designed to have two options, one of which is good for fanart as well as fanfic. You CAN choose to do both prompts if you want, or incorporate both prompts into a single work, but it's designed to give some options and variety!

Do we have to create each piece during its own day?

Nope! Some people like the challenge of creating something different every day, but you can totally prepare them in advance if you want to. You don’t even have to complete all of the prompts, you can do just the few you like, no pressure!

How do I participate?

Just create whatever you like with the prompts you’re given and post them under the “#CadinaWeek” and “#CadinaWeek2024” tags on Tumblr. We will also have an AO3 collection (keep reading for more info on this).

What's this about an AO3 collection?

Once our AO3 account is fully set up, we will be creating a collection for Cadina Week that you can submit your works to. We will be moderating this lightly, just to make sure that it's actually Cadina Week submissions and not spam, but we welcome all who want to participate!

Can I post NSFW?

Yes, please just make sure it is appropriately tagged on Tumblr and/or AO3!

Cadina Week 2024 Day 2 - College (fake dating AU)

“I’m Regina,” she says at last.  “Nice to meet you,” Cady replies, still staring. Apparently she can’t freaking blink, but she can be polite. Regina’s head tilts to the side ever-so-slightly, her long hair falling over her shoulder. She opens her mouth, but then their professor is quieting everyone down and introducing himself. Regina looks at her for another second, before her lips thin and she turns to the front, her pretty pink nails tap-tapping notes already. Cady’s entire body feels like she just submerged herself in lava, but nothing is as warm as her cheeks, which she imagines must be redder and hotter than the sands of the Nyiri Desert. She finally stops staring, facing her laptop so she can pay attention. 

Cady's junior year of college, she finds herself sitting in a film elective next to world's hottest girl, Regina George. But when she panics and accidentally tells her ex-boyfriend Aaron that Regina is her girlfriend, she's thrust into a situation she didn't expect, and Regina won't let her forget it.

Thank you so, so, so much to everyone who participated in any part of Cadina Week. Whether you wrote a fic, posted art, shared an edit or playlist, or even just interacted with content by liking, reblogging, leaving kudos, leaving comments, or just reading the work, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking part in Cadina Week!!!

We've added (as of 3pm EST on July 1, 2024) at least 84 fics to the Cadina tag on AO3 and had so much fun art, edits, playlists, and other posts on Tumblr!

The Cadina Week 2024 collection will remain open for an extra month (closing on July 30, 2024) to allow for any extra submissions that didn't get finished in time to make it in!

There's so much content, we love how much we'll have to get through over the coming weeks! It's so exciting to see so much new content for the tag!

We wanted to take an extra moment to shoutout the six people that organized this week together - what started with a simple idea in a discord server exploded into such an incredible collection of new content. We're so happy this went even better than we could have hoped!
