The Cadillac V-series represents the pinnacle of performance for the luxury brand. The latest additions - the CT5-V and CT4-V Blackwings - are the highest performing Cadillac models ever made. This article will compare these ultimate track-capable sedans. Brief Background on Cadillac's V-Series and Blackwing Models The V-series debuted in 2004 with the CTS-V, using a Corvette-derived 400-hp V8. Additional V-series models followed, with increasingly powerful engines and track capabilities. The Blackwing moniker debuted on the ATS-V and CTS-V models, signifying track-focused capabilities like carbon fiber wheels and suspension upgrades. The CT5-V and CT4-V Blackwings represent the current peak of V-series performance, bringing race-level power and aerodynamics to the street. CT5-V Blackwing Overview As the larger sedan, the CT5-V Blackwing offers greater power and performance. Engine, Transmission, and Power Specs The CT5-V Blackwing uses a hand-built 6.2L supercharged V8 making 668 hp and 659 lb-ft torque. The engine revs to 6500 rpm and includes tech like an electronic limited-slip differential and dry sump lubrication. Power routes through a 6-speed manual transmission to the rear or available all-wheel-drive system. Performance Capabilities With the V8 and available carbon ceramic brakes, the CT5-V Blackwing delivers incredible performance: 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds Quarter mile in 11.7 seconds at 123 mph Top speed of 208 mph Braking 60-0 mph in 97 feet Exterior Styling and Aerodynamic Enhancements The CT5-V Blackwing has an aggressive stance, with design cues like a unique grill, hood vent, and rear spoiler. Exposed carbon fiber and available carbon ceramic brakes signal the car's track intents. Extensive aerodynamic tweaks such as an adjustable rear spoiler and underbody panels enable stability at high speeds. Interior Features and Technology Inside the sharply tailored cabin are sport seats, carbon fiber trim, and a performance data recorder. A 15-inch touchscreen offers tech like navigation, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and a premium AKG sound system. Pricing The 2023 CT5-V Blackwing starts at $89,990 MSRP, which represents a tremendous performance value. The car offers supercar power and technology at a fraction of the price. CT4-V Blackwing Overview As the smaller sedan, the CT4-V Blackwing balances power and agility. Engine, Transmission, and Performance Specs Motivation comes from a 3.6L twin-turbo V6 producing 472 hp and 445 lb-ft torque. It uses a 7-speed manual transmission powering the rear or available AWD. Performance stats include: 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds Quarter mile in 12.1 seconds at 115 mph Top speed 189 mph Braking 60-0 mph in 97 feet Exterior Design and Aerodynamic Features Like its big brother, the CT4-V Blackwing has an aggressive stance with functional aero tweaks like a rear spoiler, front splitter, and rear diffuser. These provide stability during high-speed maneuvers. Cabin Space, Seats, and Technology The interior offers front sport seats and available carbon fiber accents. A 10-inch touchscreen provides Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, navigation and a 13-speaker Bose audio system. Base MSRP The 2023 CT4-V Blackwing starts at $61,990 - an attainable price point considering the incredible performance offered. Driving Experience Comparison Both Blackwings deliver incredible power and control for the street or track, but they have some key differences. Power Delivery and Sound The CT5's V8 produces a thunderous exhaust note and tremendous thrust throughout the rev range. The CT4's twin-turbo V6 offers immediate low-end torque with a distinctive turbo whistle. Steering, Handling and Ride Quality With a smaller footprint, the CT4 steers with sharp precision. The CT5 exhibits superior stability at higher speeds thanks to its larger mass. Magnetic ride control ensures compliance over harsh bumps in both models.
Braking Performance The available carbon ceramic brakes provide phenomenal stopping power in both sedans, although the CT5's greater weight requires larger front rotors (16.5" vs 15.7"). Fun Factor on Windy Roads and Track Both cars are an absolute blast to push hard on back roads or track. The CT4 offers nimble handling for technical sections, while the CT5 builds speed effortlessly on long straights. Practicality Comparison Beyond performance specs, daily livability differs between the two sedans: Passenger and Cargo Room The CT5 clearly has more interior room to accommodate adults or cargo. Rear legroom is abundant, and the trunk swallows 11.9 cu-ft of luggage. The CT4 is tighter with 7.7 cu-ft of cargo room. Features and Amenities Both cars offer impressive tech and luxury features like massaging seats, Bose audio, and wireless phone charging. The CT5 adds options like rear seat infotainment screens. Daily Drivability Despite high performance, both sedans retain decent ride quality and refinement for daily commutes. The CT4 will be easier to maneuver through tight urban areas. Verdict In summary, which Blackwing model is best comes down to buyer priorities: The CT4-V Blackwing will suit driving enthusiasts wanting a nimble sport sedan with accessible performance. The CT5-V Blackwing appeases those seeking maximum power and track capabilities in a usable package. Either way, both represent the pinnacle of Cadillac V-series performance - elevating world-class luxury, technology and driving engagement to new heights. FAQs Which Blackwing model has more power? The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing has more power than the CT6-V. The CT5-V Blackwing uses an upgraded and hand-assembled 6.2L supercharged V-8 engine rated at 668 horsepower (498 kW) and 659 lb-ft of torque (893 Nm). What is the main difference in engines? The main difference in engines between the CT5-V Blackwing and the CT6-V is that the CT5-V Blackwing uses an upgraded and hand-assembled 6.2L supercharged V-8 engine, while the CT6-V uses a 4.2L twin-turbocharged V-8 engine. How much faster is the CT5-V Blackwing to 60 mph? The CT5-V Blackwing is capable of a 0-60 mph run of 3.4 seconds with the automatic transmission and 3.6 seconds with the six-speed manual transmission. Which one is more agile around corners? There is no clear answer to this question as it depends on various factors such as driving conditions, driver skill, and personal preference. However, according to a review by Car and Driver, the CT5-V Blackwing has a well-tuned chassis and suspension that make it agile and responsive around corners. What is the base price difference between the two? The base price for the CT5-V Blackwing starts at $84,990, while the exact base price for the CT6-V is not mentioned in the search results. However, it is mentioned that the CT6-V is more expensive than the CT5-V Blackwing. #Wiack #Car #CarInsurance #CarRental #CarPrice #AutoLoans

LT4 Powered CT5 V Blackwing?? 😱🇺🇸 ______________________________________ [7/18/19] Well this could be some unexpected news fo y’all! So we basically know that the higher performing version of the CT5 and CT4 will be called the CT5 V Blackwing & CT4 V Blackwing…but that does NOT mean they will be getting the all new Blackwing TT V8 found in the new CT6 and CT6 V! Also for these new top tier models we can see a new lower grille design, new open intakes on the sides where the LED lights are and on the side of the cars new side air vents! 🔥 [@Allcarnews Spec Sheet] So apparently the upcoming CT5 V BW will be getting the carryover 6.2L Supercharged LT4 V8 from the CTS-V but with potentially more power upwards of 650-670HP with the similar 650 lb-ft of torque figure! Also apparently the CT4 V BW will be getting the same 3.6L TT V6 from the ATS V with 464HP..oh wait, there is more!🔥 So aparently these new Cadillac’s will also be getting not one but two gearbox options each! Expect the new 10 speed auto to be standard but a manual gearbox is rumored to be on offer for both the CT4 V BW AND the V8 powered CT5 V BW, something all of the German competition lacks in this segment! So….whats going on with that 4.2L TT Blackwing V8…It appears to be in limbo as no other Cadillac model seems to be getting it and all of the SUV’s CANT get it because they are FWD (except the Escalade). ________________________________________ ACN EXTRA: I really hope this is true! ________________________________________ - - #Cadillac #CT5V An #allcarnews post #V6 #CT5 #ATS #USA #CTSV #BMW #3series #XT4 #CT4 #hothatch||#powerful #performance #turbocharged #advanced #SupercarsRevamped #Supercar #HyperCar #ItsWhiteNoise #GM #MadWhips #manual #Carstagram #BlackList #AmazingCars247 https://www.instagram.com/p/B0E3iGphT80/?igshid=sibx71v2c01d

Hennessey’s top 10 cars of all-time, celebrating 30 years of high-performance vehicle builds
It was back in 1991 that John Hennessey got married and modified his daily driver, a Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 so he could enter the Nevada Open Road Challenge (finished fourth) and the Pikes Peak Hill Climb, and make speed runs on the Bonneville Salt Flats (setting a class record 177 mph) and the Silver State Challenge (overall winner, again averaging 177 for the 90-mile distance).
Even with all that, Hennessey and his newlywed, Hope, found time that year to start a new business (he had been in the environmental remediation business), and 30 years later, Hennessey Performance of Sealy, Texas, has produced more than 10,000 high-performance vehicles for customers.
As part of its 30th anniversary celebration, Hennessey Performance shared its “top 10 cars of all time:”
1991 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4, entered Pikes Peak, two open-road races in Nevada and set class record at Bonneville
“Fly Navy” Venom 1000 Twin Turbo, based on 2005 Dodge Viper, won Road & Track supercar shootout that included a Bugatti Veyron.
VR1200, based on 2012 Cadillac CTS-V, ran 221 mph on Texas Toll Road.
HPE600 Corvette C7, 2013 model was first Corvette C7 to exceed 200 mph.
Hennessey Venom GT, 2010 Hennessey-built supercar that set Guinness World Record of 270.49 mph and reigned as world’s fastest production car from 2014-2017.
VelociRaptor 600, based on 2012 Ford Raptor pickup truck, but with 600 horsepower and capable of a 0-60 mph sprint in 4.2 seconds
The Exorcist, based on 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 but with 1,000 horsepower and 883 pound-feet of torque, 0-60 in 2.1 seconds, top speed of 217 mph
VelociRaptor 6×6, 2017 intro of a $350,000, 6-wheel, 600-horsepower pickup truck
Hennessey Heritage Edition Mustang, 2018 intro, based on Ford Mustang GT350R but with 808 horsepower
Hennessey Venom F5, to be introduced in 2021 with 1,817 horsepower V8 and capable of 311 mph, 0-to-186 mph in 8.4 seconds
“At the end of 1991, looking back at that year of motorsport, I realized I’d learned the first rule of auto racing – if you want to make a small fortune in racing, start with a larger one!” Hennessey said in his company’s anniversary news release.
“To continue my passion, I knew I’d have to find a way to pay for it. So, I thought, if Carroll Shelby and Alois Ruf could make a living by building and modifying cars then maybe I could, too – that’s how our company began.”
In the beginning, working out of a rented garage with one other employee, Hennessey modified turbochargers and intake and exhaust systems for the 3000 GT, its cousin, the Dodge Stealth, and the Toyota Supra and Mazda RX-7.
Two years later, he created the 500-horsepower Dodge Viper Venom 550 for a customer and also produced an aftermarket hardtop for Dodge’s exotic V10-powered roadster. Hennessey helped found the Viper Club of America, and his shop rolled out the Venom 600, and then the 650, which in 1997 posted a top speed of 203 mph.
By the turn of the century, the Venom 800 and 1000 models were ready, the shop staff grew to 5 employees, and the Hennesseys had 5 children, at which point John Hennessey retired from racing.
But while he left racing, he didn’t leave race tracks and in 2004 bought the Lonestar Motorsports complex, a drag strip with return roads that he turned into a test track with a 30,000-square-foot production facility (staffed in 2021 by 50 employees and by students at the Hennessey Tuner School).
A Venom 800 won a 16-car supercar challenge staged by Car and Driver magazine, a Hennessey-tweaked Ford GT hit 234 mph, and in 2009 development was under way on the purpose-built Hennessey Venom GT, which a Chevrolet LS9 V8 would propel to more than 270 mph.
In 2012, Hennessey headlines continued with the Texas Toll Road SH130 being christened with the Hennessey Cadillac VR1200 hitting 221 mph and the Hennessey Camaro ZL1 running 204.
At The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering in 2018, Hennessey unveiled his own 1,600-horsepower F5 engine, which was designed for a new Venom supercar scheduled to launch during 2021.
Hennessey has shared an hour-long anniversary video podcast:

BREAKING: V6 CT5-V?? (WTF CADILLAC) ______________________________________ [5/30/19] Remember when i said i was worried Caddy might have rushed the CT5-V... Well here it is and it is not a V8! The new 2020 CT5-V is joined with the new CT4-V which looks a bit odd in its styling department and has a massive caddy badge in a rather small grille. But let’s focus on this major let down to V fans with the CT5 first! 🔥[@Allcarnews Spec Sheet] Powering the CT5-V is a 3.0L TT V6 making 355HP and 400 lb-ft of torque paired to a 10 speed auto gearbox and rear or AWD... so no V8?? Well cadillac is hinting that this will just be the model to compete with the AMG43/53 modes and BMW M40i models and that a gotten full on V or whatever it will be called is coming down the road. 🔥 The CT5-V is now diluting the V brand like what mercedes has done with AMG bad adding another level to the V performance tier. This new CT5-V though gets a limited slip rear diff, magnetic dampers, a performance traction system with a new fancy “V Mode”, 19in wheels, darker exterior trim and a slightly different gauge cluster. Pricing should be in the low to mid $50k range.. But remember, this is just the beginning and a full on beast V or whatever Caddy ends up calling their top of the line, is still to come likely with the 4.2L TT Blackwing V8 with over 550-600HP! ________________________________________ ACN EXTRA: Is this a big disappointment to you all?? 2019 Audi S6 Price, SPecs
2019 Audi S6 Release Date
2019 Audi S6
  2019 Audi S6
2019 Audi S6 Review – The current S6 is one of the fastest four-door sedans on the market, with one of the most discreet aspects that makes it very impressive to watch. Unfortunately, however, the current model is going out of style, but that was to be expected since the A6 has been around for a while. Fortunately, the car will be replaced in the near future by a new vehicle. With the new model, they will also launch the Audi S6 2019, a new high-performance sedan that could easily become the fastest car in its class.
The S6 also offers better performance and fuel economy through a lighter platform, improved materials and new or revised engines. The new A6 should start in the first half of 2018, but the S6 should not be far behind.
The S6 will have the same style tracks, but as usual, will have a more aggressive exterior and a more powerful powertrain.
SpecsCompetition
0-60 time: 4.2 sec. (Est.) Top Speed: 155 mph size: Mid-Size 450 HP and 406 pound-feet
BMW 5-series Cadillac CTS Lexus GS Mercedes-Benz E Class
2019 Audi S6 Interior
The new grill has three horizontal bars at the top, three more in the center with the bottom of plastic and one below. While the main grille does not have the honeycomb mesh seen on the RS models, the side vents on the bumper have a similar design.
The headlights are also based on the A8. Not only are they thinner, they also have a more angular design. Together with the new grille, they give the car a more sporty and wider look. The rounding of the new S6 is the element in the form of a separator in the lower part of the bumper and a more muscular engine bonnet.
The rear is also completely camouflaged and equipped with prototype taillights, but I’m sure I can see a thin bar of light that runs just above the location of the license. This means that the taillights will mimic those of the A8, in the same way that the new E-class takes much of the larger S-class. Two characteristics seem to distinguish the S6 from the standard model: a small spoiler on the boot lid and the bottom
2019 Audi S6 Interior
The 2019 Audi S6 will present a much smaller cabin. This will allow Audi to concentrate on providing the best experience without having to give the driver the impression that there is no place for it.
Expect a standard digital driver screen, a massive panoramic infotainment system and all the best Audi materials. The S6, being the performance model, will probably receive carbon fiber inserts, Alcantara in the seat reinforcements and the possibility of an Alcantara upholstery.
A large screen should replace the board and provide data on speed, rpm, fuel economy and much more. The screen should have a custom start screen and some unique features compared to the A6 standard, but we will learn more about this when the sedan is released. Although performance cars are usually equipped with sports steering wheels, the S6 will probably not be equipped with a flat bottom unit. Instead, the steering wheel should be identical to the A6 backrest for some additional buttons, and an “S6” badge on the lower radius. However, Audi will probably offer an optional RS-style flat bottom wheel.
Leather should be standard on the S6, but customers will also have the opportunity to obtain Alcantara inserts. The carbon fiber edge can also be offered in addition to the usual aluminum, but you will have to pay extra for the lightweight material. As usual, the standard upholstery will be black, but if you prefer a sharper contrast, you can find some bright colors, such as white and red, in the list of options. Contrasting stitching, red “S6” badge and very bright surfaces must complete the design.
2019 Audi S6 Engine
The current S6 is a powerful sedan thanks to its turbocharged 4.0-liter V6 engine, with 450 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque, but production is expected to increase significantly for the new model. On the other hand, Audi has recently trimmed some engines, and we have seen the V-8 replaced by a smaller twin-turbo V-6 of 2.9 liters. A similar motor has been introduced for the new RS5. In the coupe, the V-6 presents 450 horsepower and 442 foot-pounds. A similar start would not be a major improvement in the S6, but the lighter bases and improved aerodynamics should bring significant improvements in the performance department. However, I think Audi will push the V6 a little further, probably around 470 hp and 460 lb-ft.
With these numbers, the improved automatic transmission and all the improvements mentioned above, the sprint from 0 to 60 mph should go from 4.4 seconds to 4.2 or 4.1 more attractive tics. On the other hand, the maximum speed will remain blocked at 155 mph. The S Tronic automatic transmission must be new, while the standard Quattro all-wheel-drive system must be delivered in a revised version compared to the outgoing model. Software changes and new electronic components will make the new S6 more responsive and agile.
2019 Audi S6 price and Release
Like most new generation vehicles, the next S6 should be a little more expensive than the outgoing model. With the A6 base prices likely to increase from $ 47,600 to almost $ 50,000, the S6 should be around $ 72,000 or $ 73,000 before the options. The current sedan starts at $ 70,900 in the United States.

The 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Is The Most Powerful Cadillac Ever
The Cadillac CT5-V is a good car, but it isn't the proper CTS-V successor that we had hoped for. It's way down on power, with a mere 360 horsepower (269 kilowatts) compared to its predecessor's 640 (477 kW), and takes 4.8 seconds to hit 60 versus the CTS-V's sub-four-second time. But today the brand is debuting a car that feels like a proper follow-up to the CTS we all knew and loved: This the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. The company has been teasing the CT5-V Blackwing for quite some time – including yesterday at the Rolex 24 At Daytona alongside the smaller CT4-V Blackwing, smaller CT4-V Blackwing. But this is the first time we get to see the hotter CT5-V in detail, and with actual performance stats to boot. Borrowing the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 from the CTS-V – albeit with significant upgrades – the CT5-V Blackwing pumps out an absurd 668 horses (498 kW) and 659 pound-feet (893 newton-meters). That allows it to hit 60 in just 3.7 seconds and continue on to a top speed of around 200 miles per hour (322 kilometers per hour).Although the CT5-V Blackwing uses the same supercharged V8 as its predecessor, Maxisys Ultra price. the modifications are plentiful. The CT5 has a larger supercharger (1.7 liters, to be exact), new pulleys, aluminum cylinder heads, titanium intake valves, and 46-percent better airflow. And for the pursuits, there is a manual transmission. A Tremec six-speed manual comes standard on the CT5-V Blackwing (as well as the CT4-V Blackwing), with features like no-lift shift and rev-matching. The optional gearbox is a 10-speed automatic that Cadillac says shifts faster than competitors' dual-clutch transmissions. Notably, the 3.7-second sprint to 60 happens with the autobox, while the manual will be a touch slower off the line.Underneath, the CT5-V Blackwing adopts GM's fourth-generation Magnetic Ride Control system. Already one of our favorite setups, the latest version includes upgrades to the front and rear suspension systems (hollow stabilizer bars, higher-rate bushings, etc.), improving both track handling and on-road comfort. And in both models, power travels to the rear wheels exclusively. The CT5-V Blackwing gets standard Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires designed exclusively for this model, measuring at 275/35R19 in the front and 305/30R19 in the rear. That super-sticky rubber wraps around Blackwing-exclusive forged 19-inch wheels, and those wheels hide a set of optional carbon-ceramic brakes pads that help shed an extra 53 pounds (24 kilograms) versus the standard steel brakes. But most of the changes to the Blackwing model are mechanical; the hotter CT5-V only gets a slightly different front bumper with larger air intakes and black accents, a few carbon fiber aero pieces for additional downforce, and a blacked-out grille. The rear end of the Blackwing model also dons matching carbon fiber accents like a new spoiler and diffuser. The interior of the CT5-V Blackwing adopts a similarly subtle makeover, with carbon fiber accents on the center console, steering wheel, and door panels and a nifty 3D-printed shifter at the driver's disposal. In terms of technology, the CT5-V Blackwing gets a 12.0-inch digital instrument cluster similar to what you'll find in the C8 Corvette. The large display offers basic readouts for things like tire pressure, G forces, and boost, with specific displays for the car's three drive modes – Tour, Sport, and Track. There's also a customizable launch control setting embedded within the display, as well as a Performance Traction Management system. All that performance will cost you $84,990 for the base Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing before options. Reports suggest that we could see Super Cruise on the CT5-V Blackwing – although, Cadillac has yet to confirm – and we know that the CT5-V will come in two trim-exclusive colors at launch, Blaze Orange Metallic and Electric Blue. Buyers interested in taking home a CT5-V Blackwing can put down a $1,000 pre-order starting today.

Top 3 luxuries used cars under 15,000
No matter what kind of car you’re looking to buy, whether it is a truck, sports car, commuter, or SUV, $15,000 is an ample budget to work with. If you are look for best used cars under 15000 or Buying new, your choices of what car to get is very limited, but if you decide to go used there are a lot of benefits aside from the price that you can enjoy. For instance, when getting a used car sure it means it’s been driven by someone else, it’s got someone else’s miles on the odometer, and the previous owner’s driving style is something the car was subjected to.
However, it also means that things have broken in the past that you will not have to deal with. You can think of the car’s life prior to your ownership as a test run. This is no less true for luxury cars. While they tend to be more expensive to fix, chances are if you find a high mileage luxury car that’s been taken care of meticulously, it’s probably going to be a safe bet.
You can make this a more comprehensive process by asking for service records and a history report, and thereby get a really good look at the car’s history, including what’s been fixed and maintained. VolgoPoint brings top three luxury used cars under $15,000 if you are planning to buy then you are the right place:
 1-2011 Hyundai Genesis 4.6 Sedan
2-2010 Mercedes-Benz E550 Sedan
3-2012 Cadillac CTS 3.6
Tumblr media
 -2011 Hyundai Genesis 4.6 Sedan
The coupe version of the Hyundai Genesis was supposed to compete against Infiniti, but if you’re not into that there is a sedan version, and it’s almost as good. There’s no manual transmission, but it does come with the coupe 4.6-liter V8 that makes almost 380 horsepower and is rear wheel drive.
While it does lack the feeling of pure money that you might find with a Mercedes, the Genesis does well as a basic large luxury sedan that goes fast while managing to stay calm and quiet. You can find a Genesis 4.6 for a little less than $12,800.
 -2010 Mercedes-Benz E550 Sedan
We really wanted a Mercedes on this list, and we really wanted an E550. You need to go all the way back to 2010 to get one that fits the $15,000 budget, and you must make some compromises in terms of the condition of the car, and it is a stretch, but it’s possible, and it’s worth it.
The Mercedes E550 combines aggressive yet tamable speed with fluffy and responsive handling, as well as an interior so quiet and plush you’ll never want to leave. In fact, you could fall asleep while driving, it’s that comfortable. Of course, since it’s a Mercedes it’ll have some problems, but it’s an E-Class that you can afford comfortably.
  -2012 Cadillac CTS 3.6
Anyone who spends even an insignificant amount of time in a Cadillac doesn’t need to know that the interior speaks for itself. Praised for having a stylish interior, the CTS doesn’t continue old Cadillac tradition of providing plush clouds that you can sink into, and it’s easy to find car to buy.
Under powered and AWD, the CTS 3.6 falls short several stories from its V trim in terms of performance, but you’re still getting a Cadillac at a reasonable price. Interior space runs rampant, and visibility is relatively clear. Like the Mercedes, you can find a CTS for $15,000 or less but it’ll be a stretch as long as you compromise a bit on condition.

If You're Not First, You're Last: 5 Fastest Muscle Cars for Those Who Want to Go Fast
So you know you want a muscle car and you want to go fast, too. What are the fastest muscle cars on the market?
There’s more than one reason to buy a muscle car, and they’re not all about speed.
There’s have all-American good looks and oodles of torquiness.  A throaty roar down the stretch and the chance to own a piece of classic American auto history.
First, some parameters. Are we talking 0-60, or flat out top speed? For our purposes here, we’ve combined the two.
So here they are in reverse order, the five fastest muscle cars for those who want to go fast. Take your pick.
Cadillac CTS-V
Cadillac calls it the most powerful Cadillac ever built. With a claimed top speed of 200 mph, and the 640 hp supercharged V8 engine pushing 630 pounds of torque, who’s to argue?
Possibly, it may be those who see Cadillac’s fabled luxury as no place for a muscle car. Except this one’s built to go and that changes everything. We’d have placed it higher up the list, but a sluggish 3.7-second 0-60 performance didn’t do it any favors.
2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
Powered by a supercharged 6.2 liter V8 650 hp with an official 0-60 time of 3.5 seconds, the ZL1 is designed to excel.
At Germany’s 7.6-mile oval Papenburg track it broke the 200 mph barrier. It was clocked at a startling 202.3 mph and staked a claim to the title of world’s fastest muscle car. Marking 193.3 mph on the return, the result was an official top speed average of 198 mph.
Equus Bass 770
Equus retains the muscled motoring of American classics and couples it with the modern era’s refined technology with notes of ultra-cool luxuriousness.
The result is 6.2 liters of a supercharged engine that waves sixty goodbye in a mere 3.4 seconds. Breaking out at a top speed of 200 mph, so says Equus, the 770 lights up the roadway like a pack of quality H4 bulbs.
2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye
The Redeye is right there with the quickest street cars on the market.
If your thirst for speed isn’t quenched by the Hellcat’s zip to sixty in 3.4 seconds, the quarter-mile at 11.4, or flat out speeds that have seen 203 mph in the rear-view, you’re dryer than Dodge knows what to do with.
Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat
Except maybe for the Hellcat Charger. Is this the fastest American muscle car ever made?
In 2015, Dodge named it the fastest family sedan on the planet. Hellcat doesn’t sound like it was named with the kids in mind and at 206 miles an hour with the wind behind, it doesn’t behave like it.
Using back to back runs, Dodge marked the official average at 204.55 mph and pointed out that their tested model were no different from what you’d buy in the store. Except for the tires.
The Fastest Muscle Cars of All Time
So there they are, the five fastest muscle cars, all built with speed in mind.
And whether you’re talking about how quickly they hit sixty, knock out the quarter-mile mark, or their rubber-burning, throat-spurting, road-blazing flat out speeds down the tarmac, it makes almost no difference. Each one is ridiculously quick.
Which one is the fastest? Who really knows. It’s the never-ending debate in bars, clubs, and magazine reviews across America. Long may it continue.
