I'm still making my way (MAKINMYWAY) through the mighty nein campaign for the first time and how are we as a culture not more obsessed with the time Fjord tries to disguise himself as an undead harpy and deceive his way through the swamp by pretending he knows where he's going in ep 93. It's just. The transparent game of mental Twister to avoid Fjord's -2 survival stat after the pirates arc. The beautiful shitpost distillation of his entire way of interacting with the world for the entire half of the campaign (pretending to be something he's not and trying to fit himself to a confidence that isn't his own). Offering a favor returned in kind, offering your services, offering war, offering brutality, offering your artistic talents, offering your gift for your lost wife, offering loss of your new family, your power, your hands, your life, yourself…

Offering a cupcake. Slightly smushed, sprinkled with a powder to improve its taste and beguile the mind. Offering the memory of a day spent in conversation, in enjoyment, in friendship… sharing stories, sharing laughter, sharing… a cupcake.
