i've gotten to c2 e70 in my current mighty nein rewatch, and listening to Caduceus tell the story of how his family is tied to Melora (3:31:05) after everything we've learned through Downfall and especially what the Hells heard from the Matron of Ravens in c3 e109 got me thinking...

is the body that the Raven Queen had Clay, Stone, and Dust ask for Melora to help dispose of the body of the prior good of death?!?!?

they were given the task the day after her ascension, were told it was the body of a hero of the war, and "his body could not be maintained within a city for reasons that are lost, he had to be vanished"

the gods know there was someone else before the current goddess of death, but can only feel that loss in abstract without true memory of him. they all essentially knew something had happened and that the Matron was new but not the specifics. and at least a few of them seemed to not be all that fond of this newcomer

so my theory is that she wanted to use the burial of this hero as an opportunity to rebuild some familial bonds

the day after she came into being the Matron of Ravens essentially went to Melora and said "hey i have a super special body of a war hero that i need some help dealing with, any ideas?"

and the Wildmother turned his burial into gifts for three of the other gods in turn: to remind the Changebringer that nature is infinite, the Archeart that nature is beautiful, and the Allhammer that nature is the origin of material

it makes sense to me that any mortally-accessible remains that would come from the death/replacement of a *god* would have some sort of magical properties to begin with, so that could've even helped jumpstart the temples that were created

anyways. that's just a theory :)

This is my first time watching with the fandom. And I'm seeing so many takes like Laudna should remain dead for it to matter or for a good narrative. I'm actually curious how pc deaths were received in c1. Were people also hoping for Percy to stay dead? Or Scanlan? What about Vex?

At the end of the day isn't this a d&d game? And that death and resurrection are a major part of it?

i only started watching live around e70~ of c2 so im not sure how people acted during c1 (if someone else wants to chime in id be curious too lmao)

Linking Train from Whimsy Stamps

Here’s one last Christmas card that I made this year using Linking Train and it has quite a story to go with it. I wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out but just like life, it’s surprising. Read below for more details on how this card came about using these key products:

Linking Train Polka Dot Pals Brianna Polka Dot Pals Uzuri

The Linking Train set is one of my favorites because it can be used all year around and the empty train cars give it “loads” of possibilities. For this project, I started with the train engine and three empty cars. Then I grabbed the accessory stamps from Polka Dot Pals Brianna and Polka Dot Pals Uzuri for two of the cars. The middle one was a Whimsy Stamp’s retreat freebie this year and worked great to complete the theme. I then added the train tracks on the bottom.

Coloring the train went quickly and I stuck with a simple color theme – red and green, gold for accents, and browns and grays for the rest. After it was colored, I added some details with the white gel pen by giving patterns to the presents, ribbon and pie dish; and adding accents to the baubles, candy, berries and scarf.

Next was to tackle the background and I wasn’t sure how I was going to do that… so I posted the unfinished picture on Facebook and asked for suggestions. Most of the suggestions were to keep it simple – maybe some hills or trees and a light sky. But one suggestion cracked me up and I had to go with it…

Annabel suggested: “Station, bedecked with fairy lights. Pop a reindeer/Santa in the cab, have it floating thru the night sky? Delivering gifts? Long line of fir trees covered in snow, occasionally one dressed like a Christmas tree with baubles. Inside of the tunnel it is going thru, with icicles hanging down… Field behind filled with festive sheep and bemused sheep dog?”

I wasn’t sure how I was going to get that ALL in there but I added as many details as I could. The bemused sheep dog is currently behind the pie laughing his ears off at the festive sheep. This was one fun card and the background was just as much fun as the Linking Train. Thanks Annabel for the inspiration.

You're Going Places!

Hello everyone.. It’s Holly here today. I hope your week is starting off great! Today I have a fun slider card featuring the Adorable Up in the Air set from My Favorite Things and the coordinating dies.

I stared be creating a White A2 size card base and then I created a cloud background using the MFT Stitched Cloud Edges to create a stencil and some Salty Ocean Distress Ink. Then I created another cloud background on a piece of White card stock that I die cut with the MFT Blueprints 29. Then I created a scene with some Mowed Lawn Distress Ink and the Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics set. Then I die cut a channel into the panel using the MFT Slider Channel Die set.

I stamped all the images using Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink onto some X-Press It Blending card stock and colored the images in with Copics. Then I used the coordinating Dies to cut them out. I adhered some of the images directly onto the scene. I created a slider for the Larger Balloon with the Channel die and the small circles from the MFT Surf & Turf Die set and three of the MFT Spin & Slide Discs.  You can find many videos on YouTube on how to use these discs. Once I had the slider all set up I attached the panel to the front of the card with some foam adhesive.

I stamped the sentiment from the same set onto a strip of White card stock and used one of the banners from the MFT Blueprints 27 using VersaFine Black ink. I adhered t with some additional foam tape as well.
