Was it worth it? - Page 1

Scripted up a short story exploring more of the darker psychological aspects of living post-infection when you feel like you're hiding in a human skin costume. It's rough and experimental, good excuse for me to flex the sequential art muscles as I want to make comics more. Will see how quick I can crank out these pages! I'm gunning for a couple/week.

Cass apocalypse Au: Casey took the hit in episode 2 and ended up getting sick. How quickly would his uncles find out and end the Krang invasion out of pure rage and spite? Or would that scenario have a much more tragic outcome?

As soon as I read your question, my first reaction was to say that Casey would have shown signs of illness almost immediately and would have died pretty quickly. Because he's a human child and his body is m u c h weaker than Donnie's.

But then I remembered about the ancient demonic flowers.

And just imagining that the flowers would have given him resistance to Krang's infection? Maybe??

Maybe he would have carried the virus around all this time and not even known it? Maybe he cut himself accidentally one day and realized his blood was slowly turning pink?? And almost immediately had a massive panic attack? Maybe the virus can't kill him at all because the flowers are too powerful, so it starts messing with his head instead?

I don't know.

The possibilities are numerous

Finally! The designs for the main trio for the furry/creature!AU is ready... OTL only took me like a month to complete and I still have to design clothes for N & V, but... that'll be done another day when I dont have a raging headache LMAO

UZI - Theme; "Dangerous Stranger"

Dwarf bat, is slightly smaller than most of her peers - got her heigh from her dad (and not from her mother, obviously LOL)

VERY fluffy neck area, which puffs out when she's angry or embarassed. It happens alot especially during her earlier arc, since she's not really used to be around people.

Has a dormant/inactive strain of the rabies-like virus the Solver belongs to, however, despite its dormant status it does affect her personality and behaviour slightly! She's way more unhinged than OG Uzi, especially in her post-arc.

LOVES raves/rave music. Differently from OG Uzi she's less of an emo/goth personality and more of a 2000s raver girlie (which is evident in her theme lol)

Loud mouthed and WILL voice her opinion, lol

Her mom is a touchy subject and she WILL get angry when you push her about it too much

In the beginning of her story Uzi's fairly similar to OG Uzi - snarky, pushes people away and hates it when they care for her well-being, assuming that people just fake being nice in order to get something from her. She's not particularily insecure, but rather "too" self-preserving and just doesn't really want to get hurt in the long run. Losing her mother has taken a toll on her mental health and being infected with the solver-strain doesn't really help

Later on, she opens up and allows her true personality to finally shine through... which is slightly unhinged. Actually, very unhinged, but in an... kind of adorable way :']] She gets way more self-confident and allows people to approach her, which also helps when Cyn moves in with them

N(ATHAN)

Harpy Eagle, fairly tall (7'2" / 2,20m) and muscular for his species. Strong! Has a very prominent keel (sternum) visible on his chest

His hair behind the cap are more like feathers and correspond to his emotions! Can floof up or lay flat

Fourth toe on his feet is very moveable and can be turned so it's infront with his other three primary toes - he can grab stuff fairly easily thanks to his anatomy & carry it with ease!

Similar to Vera, he was "born" in the lab and cloned from another harpy eagles DNA (he doesn't know who though)

A bit naive and sometimes too good-hearted, trusts easily but if his trust is broken through actual malice he won't hold back if need be

Very good fighter, especially in the air

Carrier, can travel fairly fast by flight!

Ends up with Thad later on in the story, teehee >:]]c

V(ERA)

Egyptian Mau x Oriental Longhair, shaves alot of her longer fur for work purpose - only her tail remains with long fur, but it's fairly unkempt due to lack of time to properly care for it during the main story.

Blind in right eye due to a former work contract going wrong, uses glasses to take some load off of her left eye during work

Plantigrade, prefers to be barefoot though even if there are boots available for her to wear

Works together with Nathan for the Elliott Labratories (running errands, delivering dangerous substances/test containers/diseases etc.)

Dislikes working with Janette, the Labs secretary

Heavily into oldschool rock and punk music (fights with Uzi alot about music lol)

Knows how to drive cars! :]

Was "born" in the labs (artifical creation from the cells of two cats)

Infected with the same inactive/dormant Rabies-Strand that Nori, Yeva and Uzi carry - which she is aware off. She also knows that Nathan has it, but hasn't told him yet due to being afraid of it affecting him too harshly.

AAAAAAA hey I'm the anon who sent that ask and I love the monsters you've picked for each character in the Monkie Glaive AU!! Sun Wukong being a Rajang immediately made me think of the other pilgrims and what sort of monsters they could be in this crossover (Rajang Sun Wukong paired with a Kirin Ao Lie is... a very angst-charged idea that would be a really interesting dynamic too, for example... Sun Wukong tapping into his lightning powers after consuming Ao Lie's horn as some sort of sacrificial last stand between sworn brothers would be a hella angsty idea...).

Also it's kind of interesting to think of how the journey would be like in this AU — Tang Sanzang would be kind of a monster tamer, in a way? Or would the journey not happen at all? He's living the dream Monstie Rider/Tamer MHS life lol

How does the main character 'Monkie Kids' squad work like in the AU (as in, MK, Mei, Pigsy, Tang & Sandy)? Are all of them human? How does Y/N get inserted into the fray?

The Pilgrims and LBD

Ok, to start off with- Wukong eating Kirin!Hybrid Ao Lie’s horn for a power-up is such a genuinely good idea that I’m actually sad I didn’t think of it myself- but I’m making it canon now because it’s too good of an idea to waste.

(Especially given it’s the second time he’d lose someone dear to him in this AU. Technically three, because he loses Macaque twice)

Also, it works even better considering that Wukong’s “final foe” in his past is the Lady Bone Demon, instead of the Demon Bull King (who remains a sort of ally)- and she definitely wasn’t the sort of person he could defeat alone.

And, unlike canon… he actually killed her.

So, what kind of monster was the Lady Bone Demon that could be so dangerous that Tang Sanzang would allow Wukong to kill her?

A Shagaru Magala- who bear with them a powerful, frenzying plague that rots the minds and bodies of whoever become infected with it.

How bad is this virulent infection? This about sums up the reaction to contracting it that any being has.

Her plot was to bathe the world in her plague and simply have the infectees destroy it after going mad. (In fact, her first victim was Macaque- twice over.)

So the Great Monk, ever compassionate and merciful… still wished to show her mercy- though, she hadn’t molted yet, and still wasn’t at the peak of her power. She was still a juvenile of her species- a Gore Magala when Sanzang made the plea to spare her.

Despite being sealed away, the Lady Bone Demon molted very soon afterwards, assuming her true aureate form- which gave her the power to break free. Then she went and tracked down the pilgrims for a final all-out fight- that had lethal consequences.

The Lady Bone Demon descends in a shower of infectious gold and black.

She makes her first attack towards the monk- which his loyal pilgrims move to intercede.

One makes it in time, and collapses in a shower of pitch dust and pained tears.

Ao Lie, infected by the Frenzy Virus and losing his mind… tearfully allows Wukong to kill him and eat his horn. So the Great Sage loses a friend to his own hands for the third time, and gains an incredible boost of power.

Sanzang, realizing that his misplaced “mercy” is in part what allowed this to happen, gives Wukong explicit permission to end the fight- fatally.

After a bloody and brutal fight, the Monk takes a moment to hold and soothe his disciple, to tend the Great Sage’s repeating sorrows and well of tears. There’s not much that can be done to calm him- Wukong just has to slowly work through the tears and agony of losing another friend.

(And Tang Sanzang probably has to talk him out of returning his staff to Ao Guang in a fit of sorrow and guilt. Wukong is not in a good headspace through this AU.)

But, unknowingly, Lie’s thunderous spirit is bound to Wukong’s body, an ever-present force that’s always trying to comfort and soothe the simian- not that he can communicate or interact with him directly. He’s just there, hoping that one day Wukong will forgive himself for what’s happened.

Tang Sanzang himself is the world’s very first Rider, actually! Instead of beasts, Sanzang treats his disciples as though they were his very own children- which is why they all adore him so much.

He’s especially doting to Sun Wukong, who is very much in a nasty downwards spiral and in need of rehabilitation and therapy. He rarely uses the circlet (which Wukong put on himself and frequently used to self-harm), but acknowledges the need to reign in the simian’s worst aspects.

Sha Wujing is a Lagiacrus, actually! I didn’t necessarily want to add a second thunder element to the gang, but… come on! He’s blue and orange! He’s big and mean! He’s a watery fella! It had to be this Leviathan! I’ll just have him not have access to the lightning element to balance things out.

(But I also seriously considered making him a Coral Pukei Pukei)

It also allows him to be a “big, scary-looking monster that would inspire fear in those around him.

And for Zhu Bajie, I think he’s quite appropriate as a Mosswine- though I had considered making the demon a Poogie! I think being the lazy and gluttonous individual that he is, Bajie might be the sort to lay still for so long that moss grows across his back.

Also, Wukong slowly picking through the moss for bugs? Getting to do a harmless little “simian” thing and engaging in healthy skinship? It’s so good for him.

And, as offered by the incredible commenter above… Ao Lie is a Kirin. I imagine he’s the monster that Sanzang most frequently rides, given his docile nature and placid attitude. He’s still quite clumsy in his human form, but now trip-ups tend to result in Lie sparking off and inadvertently putting quite the light show.

He’s a little insecure about maybe not living up to the majesty and grace that his kind are known for, honestly. And, right up until the very end- Lie is quite nervous about being around Wukong.

Human & Vampire MD AU concept

Disclaimer: I'm a System myself, so any talk about DID/OSDD1 here is based off my experiences and adjusted to fit a fantasy setting. This may not match everyone's experience with being a System and I'm sorry if it doesn't match yours or you don't feel it's accurate enough.

Okay, so my Take on a Human/Vampire AU right?

N & Cyn:

N and Cyn are biological siblings. Their birth parents were not good to them. Cyn (not her name at this point) does develop DID because of this as a young child.

A conflict happens in the family and N gets separated from his sister. They lose contact. N has always been her safe person and safe space, so this experience is extremely stressful and traumatizing. This results in the system splitting a factive Introject of him. "N"s job in the system is to take care of the body physically and emotionally when need be and to be a comfort to the other alters (Caretaker/Caregiver/Soother, Emotional Protector). Aside from "N" there already were two other alters before him.

C & Y.

C is a Protector/Avenger and Gatekeeper, she typically deals with conflict and arguments and is more outspoken about things. However, if a situation requires them to seek a hiding spot for safety she will opt for that as well.

Y is a trauma Holder and little who is stuck at the time of the trauma, meaning they don't age up and are forever the age range the body was during the trauma / when the trauma started.

Throughout the next 1-2 years there are two more fully formed alters (the system probably has fragments that aren't as developed too, but I'll only touch on the alters that matter for the AU story).

Cyn & Solver.

Cyn picks her name based on the three alters already existing, She is the new host of the system (prior there wasn't a clear host). Cyns Identity also is what the system uses as their "Singletsona".

Later on the body gets infected with the vampire virus. How I still need to settle on, but I am tempted to make the parents neglect and abuse part of the cause.

The process of turning is painful and traumatic, and Solver splits. In the headspace, Solver takes the form of the body as a vampire.

Solver is a Persecutor (under the definition misguided protector - harming the system and its surroundings as a form of protection).

They and "N" tend to co front for making sure the body feeds, "N" because it's part of his Caretaker job to make sure they eat and drink & Solver bc they're the only alter comfortable with the whole Vampire situation.

Eventually Cyn finally gets taken away from her abusive parents and the system ends up in an orphanage.

Here they socially officially change their name to "Cyn", wanting to separate themselves from their past life and self. The only thing they don't want to forget is N, and they haven't heard from him since they were separated.

Until one day the Elliot Family comes to the Orphanage - or well, the parents and two of their kids. Tessa and their adopted son.

Said Son and Cyn make eye contact and recognize each other as N & his little sister. N pulls his adoptive parents aside and points to Cyn, telling them that he's pretty sure that's his little sister.

After some confirmation, both between the siblings and also with official documents, the family adopts Cyn as well, reuniting the siblings!

It seems fine until the vampire situation becomes an issue. The family doesn't know. The secret and whole vampire thing in general puts stress on the system.

Solver fronts to feed, and ends up feeding off and infecting N and V. Another night it happens again with J. (Harming the body as a form of protection in this case; making the system feel more ashamed and guilty about the vampire situation to be sure they won't tell someone who could actually hurt them.)

N, V and J after turning make sure to keep Cyn fed so Tessa and the parents never get turned.

Also technically Cyn isnt aware of the system beyond thinking the alters are "imaginary friends". Mainly bc many systems dont figure it out until they are much older so I feel making a kid aware of it would be a little inaccurate. Not saying it never happens but still.

N does take note that Cyn sometimes acts "off" but puts it down as not having seen her in 2-3 years and her probably having experienced more trauma since, not to mention the vampire situation once he learns of that.

Uzi:

Uzi lives with her single father Khan. Her mother died when she was really young for reasons Uzi doesn't know of.

Nori was a vampire, however Uzi doesn't know this. Uzi did inherit the virus but it is dormant and inactive.

Uzi is kind of an outcast at school, bullying and all, ever since she can remember. The only person who doesn't really judge her is Thad who hangs out with her sometimes.

This changed when the Elliots adopted N and he switched schools, joining Uzis class. His friendly demeanor causes him to actively try to befriend Uzi, even tho she's more than happy just hanging out with Thad occasionally. Over time however N manages to worm his way into her heart and they become friends and she starts helping him with math homework.

(V, J and Tessa attend the same school but are in parallel classes btw)

They're friends for about 1,5 - 2 years when the whole Cyn reunion and vampire infection happens.

How Uzi finds out about this is still on the table but oh well. Also, Uzis own vampirism becomes active, turning her too. Now here is two ways I can't decide between this could have happened.

N has told her about having turned a vampire, due to suddenly avoiding places with lots of sunlight and preferring evening hangouts and sleepovers over their typical day/afternoon hangouts. Also he stinks of sunscreen lol. --- one time, N desperately needs to feed but they're in a situation where he cannot do it (be it they are at school or on a trip or whatever - he cannot go away to try and find some wild animal to feed off of) so Uzi offers him that he can gave some of her blood. He hesitates, not wanting to hurt her. She insists because he's visibly not okay and she trusts him. He promises he won't turn her (as vampires can choose whether or not to inject the virus into their prey) and they get a quiet corner for him to feed off her. Everything seems fine until the following days Uzi has symptoms of turning. N had kept his promise, but being bitten awakened her own dormant virus. She doesn't know this tho and accuses N of lying to her and purposely turning her. They argue and their friendship takes a huge hit. Uzi turns to V and J instead of him to ask about what to do and how to keep herself fed and relies on V for help on her first few nightly escapes to hunt. Uzi would shut her down whenever she brings up how guilty N feels and how he misses her. She's mad at him until eventually finding out about her mother being a vampire (still deciding how) and then realizing it's not his fault. She feels guilty for blaming him and thinking he would break her trust and she then does everything in her power to make it up to him. He's upset she would think he's lying and genuinely believe that for so long, but he's happy to have her back.

Option 2 is Uzi and one of the vampire siblings both being hurt. They patch each other up and Uzi notices their blood being black (a vamp hc ive had since I was a teen lol) and asks about it, finding out about the situation. However during the patching up of wounds, some of the black blood enters her wound which activates her own vampire virus.

One option for this is that Uzi hurt herself prior to helping N watch Cyn and Cyn gets hurt whilst N isn't in the room. Uzi helps her and in the process Cyns blood gets into Uzis injury.

J & V:

Dont have a lot about them except that J was adopted first, she's a little older than Tessa even. V was adopted alongside N from where they were in the same orphanage.

J doesn't like Uzi when N starts hanging out with her. V does somewhat get along with her tho and helps Uzi when her own Vampirism activates.

Tessa:

Tessa is unaware of her siblings vampirism for the most part. She did notice them seemingly eating less though and is a little worried about that, she makes them snacks she knows they like to try and make sure they eat enough.

I feel if anyone were to tell her, it would be N. And he wouldn't tell that it's all of them. Only him and maybe Cyn, as he can pass that off as "well we ARE biological siblings after all".

Idk that's all I got for now.

Also Nori was either

killed by Khan after he found out she's a vampire

Died due to extended exposure to sunlight

Killed by vampire hunters

Majorly injured by hunters or the sun so Khan had to take her out of her miserly

Moon! (My AU)

Moon sometimes unintentionally acts rather cold towards his siblings- mostly to Sun -after Solar ‘died’. He always apologies, sometimes he doesn’t realise though. Earth and Lunar always point it out when he does this whilst Sun just laughs it off and dwells on it later.

His left eye started glitching after his talk with the old Moon, it’s been pointed out to him but he just dismisses and ignores it. Sun believes it’s connected to why Moon is being a lot more distant.

Sun is fully aware Moon is up to something, he just doesn’t know what. He is slightly convinced things are going back to how they used to be before Moon got his memories wiped. It scares him.

Probably around the time Ruin had come back Moon found a purple gem on the floor where Solar disappeared from. He’s sure it means something but any time he’s tried testing it he just gets a bunch of errors or incepted messages. He has found out that it’s sending alerts somewhere though.

On that note- C been getting notifications that someone is messing with a Catalyst Gem or Void Gem as they are also called. They aren’t necessarily dangerous unless someone uses them in ways they shouldn’t be. C set their computer to track where the signature came from- which takes up to 3 days -whilst they decide to show both Solar and Astro the closes dimension to them- the human one.

(Ngl I might draw some stuff to do with Solar seeing the human dimension- this would include a human Solar drawing)

(Sorry this took so long- I have no clue how to write or draw Moon and as of later I’m not sure if he’s just losing it, his KillCode is coming back, or if he’s infected himself with the Ruin Virus and not told anyone.)

(Also can I just point out that he has literally broken his promise to Sun- ya know- the one about talking to him before doing crap- I’m going to beat Moon over the head istg)

Nutty's Rabies: In-Depth

Rabies. A disease I've been heavily fascinated with - even BEFORE I got into HTF. I've researched so much into it, that I try my best to perfect how it works in my AU Nutty. From how he contracted it, to how it effects his daily life (and makes it a living hell.) !! POTENTIALLY SENSITIVE TOPICS BELOW !!

1 - Origin

Rabies, as most know, is spread from the bite of another infected animal- typically a bat, being the most common vector. But what's funny is, rabies is actually RARE in squirrels. So how'd Nutty get it?

His ex, Emil, is responsible for it. Or at least... he thinks so. And it was since then, his life was practically ruined from the start. Once the disease kicks in, it's over.

2 - Mortality Rate

Rabies has the highest mortality rate of any known disease, at a good 99%. But the disease stays dormant in the body immediately after it's contracted, and stays dormant for up to 8 months, give or take. And any first symptom is a guaranteed sign of imminent death. For squirrels, it takes only 2 days after symptoms arise, to kill. So, here's how it progresses.

3 - Disease Progression

3-A - False Normality

In current-day speak, it always starts as soon as Nutty wakes up from a previous death. Rabies is a neurological virus, and will always attack the nervous system, and most primarily, the brain and spinal cord. This stage of beginning is what I like to call "False Normality." This stage lasts for most, if not all of the first day since death. This is where he's under a false sense of security, where he is at his most docile. But as the disease begins to spread... Though, his severe hydrophobia (fear of water) is notable even from the start.

3-B - Mania

The classic, most known rabies symptoms show. Excessive salivation, foaming at the mouth, twitching and uncontrollable movements. And not to mention the excruciating pain. All of this, combined with his less-than-great mental state, often combines into his desperate attempts to lash out at anything he can, just to purposefully get himself killed to end his misery. He's lost in complete mania by the second day, as the disease takes him over as its host.

3-C - Terminal Lucidity

Through the second day, his mania will finally die down towards the end, leading him to a state of lethargy and tiredness. Though, clarity. This is the kind of clarity that sinks in just mere moments before a slow, painful death from any pre-existing injuries or otherwise from the disease itself. Though he wouldn't like it to end here and not sooner, it's often just the way it is. And always, at the end of the second day, he's finally dead. The the cycle repeats the next day, and so on.

I haven’t asked you a question for a long time! (and the question itself) Has UnderNet Gaster ever been in such... quarantine au? (au which are infected with a virus, or some kind of parasites?) such as Goretale?

Long time no see!

As for the Q:

I think he definitely would've come across a few on his travels. I can't think of any specific AUs off the top of my head (except for Fresh), and I don't see much information on Goretale. So in general, how events would play out depends on a few things:

a) The virus/parasite attacks his SOUL. But it wouldn't work because he doesn't have a SOUL. This is best case scenario.

b) It attacks his code directly. He should be able to edit it out, as long as he's still able to use his pen (he can't if the ability is removed somehow, or he can't summon his extra hands/pen). Worst case scenario is a virus that changes his code.

c) It takes over his mind / sanity. This is second worst case scenario.

d) He dies! This one's okay because he can come back.

In fact, I think Admin would probably only visit AUs where the risk is (a) or (d), since he can brush that off rather easily. Since he can view the code, I think he'd be able to know before going too far into the AU.

Admin absolutely doesn't want a (b) or (c) scenario. His desire to survive is stronger than his desire for information in this scenario. He also tells Exec not to visit these areas. His survival is very important to Admin too.

There are two sounds of the summer this time. These tunes on blast helped me get through writing this.

I've had a lot happen to me since I last updated this fic. A lot of the thing's weren't great, and over time due to business and tiredness and stress this was harder to return to, the more I left it the worst it got.

But I'm going for finished, not perfect.

I never expected this to get the reach it did, but I'm glad people got joy out of the stories I tell myself when I drift off to sleep at night.

so this is my AI AU...i dont have all of the pieces done yet, but I think this will be part one of 3 little collages I'm going to make hehe...the basic summary of the AU is, What if Black Butler BUT ROBOTS????

R!Ciel and O!Ciel are a pair of extremely intelligent bots made by the company Angel Wing (a company trying to put human sentience into robots to specifically help prolong the lives of sick children). The two of them are called RCL and OCL (R-C-L, O-C-L, pronounced just as you'd pronounce r!ciel and o!ciel, since it's cee el) and they're the newest little toy...

That is, until RCL goes missing from their little padded cell of monitored stimulation and information learning. And, then, a strange nebulous 'virus' infects OCL. Suddenly, he's on the run -- or rather, something is running and he's in their arms!!

Sebastian Michaelis (nicknamed, The Daemon, because he almost exclusively codes in hebrew and it looks Very Intimidating) had his eye on these little bots (called: dolls). They moved off the road and settled underneath the shades of the trees, sitting on a fallen log so they could regain their breath. Izuku had given her a water bottle, his ears listening in on her chugging the water. He was worried that if he had not arrived sooner she may have succumbed to dehydration as he didn't know how long she had been laying there.

As his fingers played with moss that had grown on the trunk, he couldn't help but ponder what horrors she had gone through. His eyes would occasionally flick towards her bloody clothing. Her jacket was almost covered in blood, her jeans weren't as bad and as for her boots only blood had been splattered on. Her hands and cheeks however had smeared blood.

As she chugged her water at a very fast speed, some had dripped from the corners of her mouth falling to her shirt. She would occasionally feel Izuku's eyes on her. She assumed he was probably staring at the fact she had no manners, but she had realized how terribly she looked.

She took the last bit of water that was left and set it down on her lap, wiping her mouth with the parts of her jacket sleeve that weren't dirty, "It's not mine. The blood. It doesn't belong to me."

His eyes casted down to his dirty shoes, "Sorry, I didn't mean to stare. It's just...how do I know you're not...infected."

She shrugged before removing her jacket. She lifted the sleeves of her shirt to show him her exposed skin. She then raised the bottom of her shirt and the underneath layer to show him her stomach and back, "No, bite or scratch marks. I would show you my legs, but I think we'd both be uncomfortable."

He nodded as he handed her jacket back. Though he was convinced, he wanted to know if she had to hurt someone to save her life as he didn't want to be the next victim. For him to assume that wasn't nice, but as he's been on the road he's come across many people who wouldn't hesitate to do so.

It didn't matter if you were a man or woman. When it comes to being in a life or death situation you tend to do things that put you above everyone else, "You're right. Can I ask who's blood you have on?"

"Oh," She started, looking down at her clothing. Bits of memories came up, her expression softening in a sorrowful look, "I can't really say. It might be the dead's blood or...my family. It could also be the animals I used to take care of."

He mentally slapped himself. He should have figured out that the blood could have possibly been her family. Even if he wanted to know whether she had harmed someone, he should have approached in a different direction. Though at least now, as he stared at her sorrowful face, he didn't see a malicious intent.

"I'm sorry." He stated as he looked down at his hands, "I shouldn't have asked. I know how it feels to lose someone."

Her eyes flickered towards him, "It's fine. What do we expect, right?"

He looked back at her, his eyes glued to her e/c eyes and he couldn't help but feel as he got a better look, that she kind of looked familiar, "You're right."

A twig snapping behind them caught their attention. They quickly stood up, Izuku's rifle was raised while F/n only had her empty gun. Fortunately for them, it was only a rabbit looking for food. Their actions startled the rabbit and had it running away, the white critter left their field of vision as it got deeper into the woods.

"We should get going and find somewhere to stay before it gets dark." Izuku said, "Your ankles fine, right?"

She nodded, "Yeah, doesn't hurt too much. Do you have an idea on where to go?"

He embarrassingly chuckled and pointed ahead of the road, the opposite direction of Musutafu, "I kind of planned to go this way. Hopefully this road will lead us to a town instead of a city."

Though it wasn't much of a plan, she followed after him. She held onto her jacket as it was hot, she could even almost feel the hot road underneath her feet, "So, are you from Musutafu or were you just visiting?"

"No, I'm from Musutafu." He eyed her with a smile, "What about you?"

"Me too." She said, a peaceful silence washed over them as they continued forward. Izuku would have felt apologetic that he wasn't as talkative as he was before, but that was only because he was tired and needed some rest. He would assume the same was for F/n as she looked the same as him.

After a few hours of walking in silence, the sun had begun to set down. The orange sky was beginning to fade as the shades of purple and blue began to take over. The stars even began to shine brightly.

Izuku let out a sigh, "We need to find shelter before it gets completely dark. I've noticed the dead seem to be more active at night. It's almost strange how they sometimes sleep like we do."

"It's probably the cool air." She said and looked at her surroundings. Almost like someone was listening, a cabin hiding by some trees was just in the near distance. She pointed ahead and began approaching, "We found our place to rest."

"Good eye!" He followed after her. Before they took a step inside he held her back, "You don't have a weapon. Stay behind."

""Kay." She blinked at him and watched as he reached inside his bag to grab a hammer before opening the door ajar. He banged on the walls and listened for any movements that a dead might be inside. When nothing approached him he opened the door, though there wasn't much to keep an eye for as the cabin was an open space.

Two twin size beds were on the back left side to the front door, the kitchen was to the back right with a wall all separating it from the beds, and a chimney was placed at the front right, next to the door.

He stepped aside so F/n could enter and closed the door. As Izuku stepped towards the kitchen, she locked the door and noticed just how many locks were placed. She then looked around noticing not even a bathroom was around. It was probably a cabin where the bathroom was in the back.

She turned towards Izuku who rummaged through the kitchen cabinet, "Anything?"

"No." He let out a sigh, "Just pots and pans. Can you check the fridge?"

She walked towards it, but just as they expected everything inside had turned foul, "It's all rotting. It can be used as fertilizer if we plan on making a garden though."

He closed the cabinet door as he thought, "No. We wouldn't want to live somewhere with no walls protecting us. Maybe there's a grocery store farther ahead."

"Maybe." She shrugged before heading to the farthest bed and setting her bag down, "But we should check tomorrow morning. I'm beat."

He nodded as he approached the open bed and set his stuff down. The moon was just rising and the cabin had gone completely dark. With them both settled down on the bed, they tried focusing on any moaning as they didn't want to be surprised by a dead.

Nothing was heard but only the sound of their breathing. With their backs turned against each other, they tried their hardest to sleep. Tonight would be the first night F/n would sleep without her family. The first night where her sister wouldn't seek her comfort and where her parents and aunt wouldn't bid her a goodnight. Neither her cousin having her stay up despite how tired they were.

She only hoped the memories would disappear and be replaced with ones she was deeply fond of. In her fetal position, she steadily closed her eyes and listened to the breaths that existed in the cabin before sleep consumed her.

major gore/body horror tw for this one fellas!!

I see SO many fics and fanart undermining Piers’ injuries in those Piers lives aus, so I decided to take my own spin on it!

As I said at the start, Piers’ injuries are greatly undermined in the fandom, especially if his mutation gets removed. For my design, I wanted to carve out a good chunk of his right side, since the arm was connected by muscle to the inside of his torso. Realistically I don’t think he’d be able to survive this, but the C-Virus has to protect its host, so the mutation works overtime to protect Piers’ body

As for Piers’ prosthetic itself, his organs, exposed muscles, and other mutations would need to be protected from further infection. To combat this issue I wanted to make a sort of “chest plate” that surrounds his torso while also giving his prosthetic arm a place to be held. He’ll usually use his cane when using the prosthetic, since it’s too painful to walk when not in use
