Cad Bane is not the trusting sort, especially after a lifetime of being backstabbed and stabbing right back. Then my dreams, which usually make no sense, decided to create a scene where the bounty hunter takes his vengeance on someone who dared to trick him into trusting anyone… again.

Do you play an instrument? Used to play the saxophone and the flute in school. I still have them in storage somewhere, but I haven't touched them in a loooooong time and barely remember the fingering for them or how to read sheet music.

Favourite book character? No idea. I've been conditioned by life to not become heavily invested in stuff or attached to people, so I'm still learning how to Like Things, Make Connections, and Have Favourites.

What’s your star sign? Pisces. "Oh you love the sea, you're always wet, you want to fuck a fish" no fuck off. I like the ocean a normal amount but only because I was raised in a coastal town with strong ties to the sea not just because I'm a Pisces.

Favourite colour schemes? Anything with purple and/or deep blue, with a strong contrast like orange, gold, or yellow.

Naps or long sleep? Both. I would prefer to only have to sleep a regular amount but I am cursed with depression and perpetual sleepy bitch syndrome, so I spend more time than I'd like napping and sleeping for extended periods.

What languages do you speak? Only English.

Dreams/aspirations? Too many. A career in acting, owning my own home, becoming fabulously wealthy so I can become a modern day patron of the arts by throwing money at struggling creatives, but the one that might actually be achievable is to make a living/literally any money off of my art somehow. That's been a big one for a long time.

Long hair or short hair? My soul years for long flowing hair but my mind and body find it a pain in the ass, so short/short-ish hair it is.

Tea or coffee? Neither. Not really a fan of hot drinks.

Bring a book character to life or go into the fictional world? Fictional world, without hesitation. Get me out of here, please, I want to leave!

Couple of skull and skeleton themed Art Fight attacks for @YaguYogur and @jenareuter and I love how both of these came out.

Not too long ago I met again with a friend I went to secondary school with and she threw me head-first back into remembering the most fabulous skeleton-in-a-hat, Skulduggery Pleasant.

It only took me a good decade and a half to the get the hang of drawing skeletons so that, at last, I could pull off having him do all sorts of nonsense and expressions... with his friends and enemies!

These interpretations are based less on the official descriptions and more on my general memory and vibe of them. Consider them alternative interpretations!

(Yes, I know that's not the right Bentley model, but it's still beautiful ok)

So @prettyflyshyguy reminded me about this incredibly dumb doodle I drew from her Resident Evil fanfic (which she just finished, it's very fun, go read it!) where Leon turns into an infected and.... finds himself in an embarrassing wardrobe situation.

I have not the slightest clue about the series besides what she's told me but I am always a sucker for monster-people being awkward. 😂

Naturally, being the skeleton enthusiast I am, couldn't help but draw him with a dashing swish (come on, we all had a crush on him, don't leave me standing alone here alone...right?)

What summery lighting for such a wintery fellow!

Before I started working on the Purely Personal painting, I needed to work out the style rendering. It's partly inspired by Max Grecke, whose smooth shading and sharp shapes while still being atmospheric I admire.

Hateship Demo - 1 Year Anniversary Update ✨

Just around this time last year (on Valentine's Day), I released the demo of Hateship, a monster dating game set in a noir-style mega cruise ship with a gang of biomechanical jerks.

I really wanted to draw something proper to celebrate, but life be a bit too frantic at the moment.

The original intention was to finish the game well within 2023, but it felt like it needed more depth to feel like a story with character development. I want to create something to be proud of, and believe the project will ultimately benefit from extra (but sensible for production) flair.

Despite that, I'm steadily working away at it and haven't slowed down.

Major updates since the demo:

2 characters fully written and edited, 1 in progress now.

60k+ words for the whole project, shared across 6-7 characters. A novel in itself.

Changed the UI to feel more cinematic. We can't have noir without it!

The main character can choose a few backstory details for more flavour.

One of the characters, Avak, pictured above, has more placeholder assets in Act 1.

Act 1 shots have thumbnails sketched.

There's still a lot left to do, so announcing any release date would be too optimistic at the moment.

Instead, to stay in the loop on a monthly basis, I update regularly here.

Really excited to be working on this. You're going to be in for a hilarious ride of action, misery and that absolutely necessary dash of adorable. I hope you'll join me!
