"Are you sure?" Roxanne asked, before giving a small shrug. "Unfortunate side effect of working at Hogwarts, you've got to do most of your shopping outside school hours. I'm hardly afraid of walking by myself, but I wouldn't say no to some company."
Tumblr media
"No, I'm good," Tristan said, brushing off the other's question and his own feelings. He'd been plagued with nightmares all night and he couldn't stay at home, "I'm just on a walk to clear my head. Probably not smart to be out alone this late but I could say the same thing about you."

About Tristan and Isolde both dying at the end of their story, which of these two is more in tune with how it makes you feel?
A) Death here is joyful/desirable. It unites them. In a way, they wanted/had to die. Their love was too disruptive for life, one way or another. They can finally be together forever in death.
or
B) Death here is miserable/undesirable. It separates them. Regardless of the enormity of their desire, they wanted to live for each other. If dead, they cannot be together.

❛ what's going on with you? i know there's something. just tell me. ❜
❛ it's nothing. nothing. ❜ he hasn't been sleeping. that's what's going on with him. it's really, terribly simple and tristan can't say it. he can't say it because it's stupid. because it's about a thing that probably doesn't even impact him, and something that his mother hardly cares about, so why should it --
haunt him.
dramatic, maybe. but every time tristan tries to sleep, it just keeps throwing itself around in the back of his head, and he's not entirely sure what to do about that. so he's been drinking coffee and getting cat naps and generally falling apart. he's hiding it really well. it's just that max has noticed. tristan turns away briefly, rubs at his eyes, then turns back with a grin. ❛ done the inventory, by the way. ❜ there's a chance it's seven am.

A Kairos Moment: Chapter XVIII - What Could Be
Pairings: Primordial God! Chronos/Ananke! Nico di Angelo
Rating: M
Warnings: NA for this chapter
Chapter Summary:
“What the fuck do you want from me?!” Alabaster shouted into the sky and the vast waters. Silence greeted him. At least this illusion got one detail right. In the end, he was alone. It was the culmination of his choices. Everyone he cared about left him behind; they either died or abandoned him.

tell me more about your tav??
.I’m so glad you asked 😘💕, I started fleshing out his backstory a while ago to give him more flavour and more reasoning behind his actions and abilities. And in doing that I half made up the idea of him being an NPC and what his major questline would be (considering I do like having both a Tav and Durge). Since I’m out there solving everyone elses’ problems I could at least have my own, or you know, give Tristan his own.
.Tristan, in his own right, is a bard, he went to bard college (Faerun has those right?) and spent a bit of time as a clown, mostly because it was fun for him and there were many happy parents who were… accommodating, shall we say, moving beyond that after a somewhat disparaging breakup with another bard (whomst he would later return to in Baldur’s Gate as a little cosy scene), he left and went adventuring, leaving his clowning days behind and stepping up as a more vulgar jester. Entertaining his audiences dressed in nothing but painted flesh and beguiling quips, and perhaps becoming far too acquainted with fleeing in the early morning hours to avoid angry spouses. Paint on the bedsheets was an easy tell on exactly who had spent the night there.
.His backstory, beyond his own, is that his Great Grandmother travelled to Thay to sate her appetite for necromancy, she wanted power beyond what she had, being something of an exceptional wizard, but not too exceptional that she could ever be considered the best in anything. There she met Buthek Maszim, a man eager to reach pure lichdom, and she was more than eager to help him for a fraction of his power. Or, so she said to him. In truth she wanted the power of a lich without becoming one herself, she was a wood elf after all, and her life would be long regardless. Buthek, however was only human, and his measly 80 or so years would not be enough for him. During the ritual, she sabotaged Buthek, halting the process and stopping him from obtaining what he had worked so hard for, and stole away parts of his body, hoping instead to command him at her will. His bones were forged into a grand flute that would serve as his phylactery and leash.
.A flute that didn’t actually work as intended. The great grandmother left Thay after the debacle, pregnant, lacking the lich power she desired, and unwilling to admit to her mistakes. She returned home and raised her daughter there. Not exactly giving up on her dream of power, but keeping it all hidden from the rest of her kin. Centuries passed, her daughter had a daughter, and Tristan was eventually born. A baby boy would looked so remarkably half-elven than many questioned who his father actually was. Granted he uses this to his advantage in the future, nobody really thinks he’s a true wood elf outside of his home, and he’s flippant enough to just relax into it. He doesn’t have the stigma of being a forest-dwelling hermit in the cities he yearns to explore, and half-elves, well, they’re easy, aren’t they? And Tristan is so very very easy.
.Now, he left home on his 100th birthday, stealing away into the night to pursue his bardic ambitions, giving himself the name Tristan Yarrow, and taking with him the ancestral flute of his family, amongst other things. The one the nobody knew was made from the bones of a lich in stasis. It’s harmless, right? Right? I mean, he thought so, he didn’t know, he doesn’t know (at least until Act 3) that he’s been carrying around a lich phylactery this entire time, he doesn’t know that every death that was even minutely graced by his music had it’s soul stolen and fed into the ever-waiting ever-strengthening arms of Buthek Maszim. A man biding his time until he could take over Tristan’s body, one half tainted by his own magic, and could finally achieve true lichdom.
.Of course there’s three endings to Tristan’s final quest, one good, one bad, and one considerably worse than bad. But that’s a whole other story.
.On a side note, idk anything about dnd elf names so… for now, him baby 🥰💕.

One thing about the Degenerate video is in spite of any concerns I have over the AI shit it's actually not my least favorite music video from them. That dubious honor still goes to the Bringing It Down 2.0 video.

where: fauxe follie
who: @tristanzaire
It had been weeks since she'd been able to leave her house. Weeks of laying around, being taken care of. Weeks of uselessness. Korra was growing tired of that feeling. Yes, she was still sore and healing, but she wanted to go back to work. Which led her to text Tristan, so that she could discuss it. That, and she wanted to give him a more thorough report of what happened to her over a month ago.
"I haven't ordered drinks yet." She informed Tristan as he approached. "Though, I only plan on drinking water."

🤪‼️🙏 for the OC most on your mind rn
Well the last OCs I was thinking about were the Nicea crew (and how they should have more problems) so let's go with them:
🤪Do they have a “fun uncle” type family member?
Declan: not really.
Isabel: she does - one of her dad's brothers - but she stopped liking him when she stopped being able to swindle him out of candy and pocket change. She hasn't seen him since before high school, because she hasn't been back to her home planet since then.
Rodney: same as Isabel but he never liked the fun uncle to begin with. He was too loud and too much.
Tristan: she's had several, if "family" includes her mom's many girlfriends over the years. She'd also consider Von kind of a fun uncle, though more of the "grumpy but will let you drive the truck and sneaks you candy" kind.
Spinder: technically speaking, he is an uncle to the vast majority of his family. But his "fun uncle" has always been his second sister, Teagan, who is also Cady's mom. She's some 25 years older than him, but he and Cady are only five years apart, which meant that Teagan allowed them to be collectively a menace, but Spinder got to go home at the end of the day.
Cady: Spinder, his uncle who is younger than him. No contest.
Bo: also not really.
‼️What’s the most important part of having a “family” to them?
Declan: having people he can rely on, closely followed by not being for real alone.
Isabel: having someone who will stand by her no matter what. Which makes Rodney the most family family member she has.
Rodney: having people who will always need him, because he desperately needs to be needed.
Tristan: being in community with them, and especially sharing meals.
Spinder: his family is huge, so having an abundance of people to meet his social and emotional needs and engage with him about different interests, or in short: never being alone.
Cady: to be honest it's kind of a relief to have people who are supposed to like him, because he thinks he might kind of suck.
Bo: always having a place to return to, whenever they return.
🙏Are there things about their family they wish were different?
Declan: he wishes his moms weren't dead. But with the family he has living, he wishes that he knew how to talk to Teagan (his mother-in-law). He always feels so awkward with her, like she's kinda disappointed in him, and he doesn't want to give her any reason to be more disappointed in him.
Isabel: where does she even begin with them…she's concluded that things would be better for everyone if her and Rodney's parents had gotten divorced when she was about ten. Then she wouldn't have had to experience her dad doing transphobia with extra steps, her mom screaming at him all the time, Rodney becoming even more a nervous wreck, and becoming ride or die with him out of perceived necessity. But given what she has to work with now, she wishes Fay could just fucking chill out already and not always find some way to belittle her, whether intentional or not.
Rodney: could Fay and Isabel be okay please? And could someone tell him if his dad is still transphobic with extra steps or is he gonna have to go find out himself
Tristan: she wishes she knew more of her blood family. A good chunk of them still live on Antarac, and many of them around her hometown, but there a few branches of her family that are either all dead at this point or disappeared out into the galaxy, never to be heard from again. She wishes the family she does know could help her find the rest, even though they probably disappeared for a reason.
Spinder: in his immediate adoptive family (his third sister and her husband and kids) he wishes Michael hadn't been such a shit, because then he probably wouldn't have fallen out with Gwinnia for fighting with Michael. But he also has to acknowledge there wouldn't have been a fight if he hadn't engaged…either way he wishes he hadn't fallen out with Gwin, and also that he'd found some way to connect more with his now-deceased birth dad.
Cady: he can put up with just about any family nonsense, but god he wishes his dad hadn't died when he was a kid.
Bo: "we never get to see you anymore Rannebo" except after ten years of accidental exile they feel a lot more like their parents have a point.
Send me some family asks!

[ patch ] sender carefully patches one of receiver's wounds
there are, it seems, issues with having sharp objects on a big, sometimes unstable boat. tristan doesn't wholly remember what happened, just knows that a scalpel was falling and then his hand was on it, and then there was blood everywhere, so that was...something.
now they're here, tristan on the floor for some reason - he thinks maybe shock and blood loss but he kind of lost time a little bit - and avery putting gentle stitches through his palm. he's not sure this is sanitary, actually. ❛ please tell me i didn't faint. ❜
