hi everyone it's me again. i just think it's sooooooooo cool how zahra ran away to a wholeass different country to avoid her predestined fate of being a religious figure/political tool in a rising empire only to find herself a tool for like three different factions, allied with a radical religious government, and rapidly amassing power. me when i can't escape the fucking stars.

hi guys i'm posting again. as much as i love playing characters who have a self-preservation instinct it's so much EASIER to play characters who do not have one even at all especially in situations Like This
#cw:fire#c:megadungeon#cha:alessi#or really like alessi thinks they don't NEED a self-preservation instinct bc their saint and their holy purpose is preserving them#but it was so EASY to just be like 'yeah i charge into the burning building yeah i keep going deeper into the fire yeah i grab the searing-#hot door handle. there's a person in there who might possibly still be alive!' i didn't even have to THINK about it#and not even like. not even a person they KNEW especially well just A Person#and they still couldn't actually get her out alive :( but they still gave it all they had and still managed to get her body out#[i'm going to need to take this next two weeks (:() b4 we play to figure out how they feel about that. beyond 'angry at ragnarr']#i was getting a little worried in there tbh! 14 hp is not very much to end up with! but i didn't have to even consider turning around#and alessi wasn't even a little bit worried about it they knew they'd be fine#that's clerics <3 kings of getting into situations and getting other people out of situations and NOT getting themselves out of situations#and it's such a fun contrast w my other active megadungeon guy being salvador who DOES have the hit-da-bricks instinct#was introduced as the sole survivor of a tpk!#and the fun tension that gives w him being a guy who Does walk the edge of death frequently#and who HAS that castillian bravado and that bravery sword and who IS a bit of a risk taker even just for the sake of taking risks#but who also knows when to get the hell out of dodge bc if you want to stay alive you have to keep yourself alive. and for now he'd really#rather like to be alive!#cha:salvador#okay NOW i'm going shopping#love when meg puts me in a situation <3

pov you do your usual thing of speaking for the party and agree to serve the rat king on behalf of all of you and then the rat king immediately casts geas on your party member, which was NOT supposed to be part of the deal, and you kind of want to apologize to your party member but also you did get the desired result, technically, so you just go “that was...not what i intended” and respond to his “we do what we must” with “we certainly do”
#also your whole deal is being paranoid about the reality of what’s around you and now you might still be stuck in a nightmare illusion zone.#c:megadungeon#cha:arcis#wuh oh! dnd no longer about coworkers.#i think we should roleplay more in this roleplaying game i think arcis and elio's dynamic can really be SOMETHING#'we do what we must' 'we certainly do'!!!!!!!! they GET each other despite also really *not* getting each other#i'm very happy i got to cast remove curse :) abjuration :)#almost like healing rlly if u think about it--#i'm still sorting through how much of all the emotional reaction there was just me or if any of it was really arcis#but honestly i think it WAS her! she really does have this prideful protectiveness about the party#cause she IS proud! she's mostly given up her nobility in favor of her Grand Quest but at the same time#who the fuck is fyodr to be asking for loyalty? to be acting like a king?#to be casting spells that interfere with the autonomy of someone who's MY party member?#somehow made WORSE because fyodr is also from krutske#I'M the one who's the ice wizard here get your fucking unwanted curse out of here--#it's similar to how furious she was when max got killed except there we got our revenge right away and it was also tempered#with the 'we failed' frustration#and i think that also arcis has enough paranoia and enough of a Thing about altered memories and unreliable minds#that enchantment spells in particular really get under her skin#but again it's in a. she's upset on elio's behalf but she's also taking it as a Personal Insult. because she's a Nightmare.#she didn't apologize to him! but her 'are you alright' did come from a place of genuine concern. she does Care about elio#cares about him but also held off on remove curse for sooooooo long. she had it under control y'know--#god she's really insufferable i really like her...

the first time i ever played marigold she was level 12 and had a successful and renowned detective agency with her partner, a kenku warlock named [gunshot] [gunshot] [gunshot] [cash register noise]. the second time i played marigold she went from level 1 to level 5 and was opening a detective agency with her partner, a gnome wizard named flick. the third time i’m playing marigold, she’s level 1 and has a tiny detective agency with her partner, an intlock named m. rosen. delighted by the progression of this.

MEGadungeon (#c:megadungeon): A voice fifth edition dungeon crawl/political intrigue game about seeking out treasure and knowledge in the massive ruins of a fallen empire. I play Salvador Romero (#cha:salvador), a human spirits bard (6), Alessi di Nicolo (#cha:alessi), a human order cleric (6), and Marigold Glenfellow Dell’Emarginato (#cha:marigold), a human inquisitive rogue (3). Until she was frozen in amber, I played Arcis Petrova (#cha:arcis), a human abjuration wizard (6).
Colossus (#c:colossus): A voice fifth edition game set in a world where societies live on the backs of massive creatures. I play Charisma Dorata (#cha:charisma), a protector aasimar creation bard (6).
Deck of Many Things (#c:domt): A play-by-post fifth edition game about the struggle to escape a massive demiplanar museum, often by drawing cards from the deck of many things. I play Jessamine (#cha:jess), a scourge aasimar hexblade warlock (14)/shadow sorcerer (1)/fighter (1).
Faeme (#c:faeme): A voice fifth edition game about people who were exiled from the Feywild for various crimes finding (and keeping) their way home after 300 years. I play Rowan Caerdonel (#cha:rowan), a half-elf celestial warlock (7).
Library (#c:library): A play-by-post fifth edition dungeon crawl game about protecting the multi-planar Library of Magic from an ancient threat. I play Kara Daradir (#cha:kara), an eladrin cobalt soul monk (13).

Rime of the Frostmaiden (#c:rotf): A fifth edition game using the Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden module. Party is a rune knight fighter, a lore bard, a stars druid, a champion fighter, and a tempest cleric (7).
past games:
CROP (#c:crop): A play-by-post fifth edition political intrigue game set in a world of plants. I played Cerise (#cha:cerise), a cherry tree divine soul sorcerer (6). Until she sacrificed herself to slow the approaching army, I played Archmage Sparrow Citrion (#cha:sparrow), an asparagus conjuration wizard (4).
Ship of Fools (#c:sof): A fifth edition actual play podcast about power and freedom and seagulls set in a vast, magical ocean. Party is an ancients paladin, a draconic bloodline sorcerer/barbarian, and a fathomless warlock (14). We’ve finished playing, but you can still find us wherever you get your podcasts or over on @shipoffoolscast !
MOTWinchester (#c:motw): A Monster of the Week game set in the little seaside town of Winchester Bay, Oregon, which is unusually prone to supernatural activity. Party is a Chosen, a Monstrous (werewolf), a Wronged, and a Mundane. I GMed this one.
Elantris (#c:elantris): A fifth edition play-by-post game about a group of heroes waking from a Sequester to discover that they were no longer able to rest and only had the resources they had to deafeat the Lich and save the world. I played Alissaya Lightbearer (#cha:liss), a human life cleric (13).
Dwendalia (#c:empire): A voice fifth edition game set in Wildemount about a group of misfits who find themselves caught between the wills of gods, demigods, powerful crime organizations, kingdoms, devils, and secret societies. I played Elodie Mayflower (#cha:elodie), a halfling unity cleric (7).
Magic Sword (#c:magic sword): A fifth edition voice game about a girl chosen by a magical sword and destined to wield it to kill the tyrannical King, aided by three powerful Guides and an Anchor who tied the life force of the Guides to the material plane so they could return when they died. I played Alita Nikolaev (#cha:alita), a human valor bard (9) and Chosen who was killed in the final battle against the king but whose sacrifice allowed her companions to kill the king and give the people a chance to build a new world.
Seekers of the Ashen Crown (#c:4e): A voice fourth edition dungeon crawl game. We TPKed and the Big City Big Soup Cooking Competition is soooooo cancelled. I played Nova (#cha:nova), a deva wrath invoker (2).
Xhorhas (#c:xhorhas): A fifth edition voice game set in Wildemount about an elite squad of mercenaries hired by the Xhorhasian Dynasty’s military to run some very dangerous errands as war was breaking out, which is currently officially on hiatus. I play Bird (#cha:bird), an air genasi gloomstalker ranger (5)/scout rogue (3).
and several others, but these three are the ones you’re most likely to see me talk about here still.
