Perfect weather was an expected side effect of living on a god-controlled patch of land, but the perfect afternoon (concerning mindset more than percent humidity) was never a guarantee. Zoey was pretty sure she’d just had one though, as she crossed where the carnival spilled out onto the beach and took a picture of the sliver of moon that you could just make out where the sky bled purple into pink. She hurried after Griffin after her moment of pause- he’d been particularly patient with her photo taking today, probably since she’d taken most of them when they were waiting in line for something anyway, or when had been too dizzy to notice her taking pictures of him. They’d been looking for a secluded pier but settled for an unoccupied one, as half the people leaving the fair were doing so via beach as they were.

“Do you need me to light it?” She could already hear the strain in her voice from screaming on the rides, and cringed internally thinking about what smoking would do to exacerbate it, though not enough to make her rethink the decision. She was probably giddy enough from being turned upside down, but she was full of sugar and joy, and this only felt like a natural way to extend the night.

Things almost always went by too slowly. A class, a meeting, a boring story from someone that Zoey didn’t want to be listening to? The seconds seemed to drag their feet. Of course, when it came to reflexes, this was a good thing. She caught things before they fell, dove for balls before they hit the ground, and... arrows? These arrows were too quick. Zoey wasn’t some genuine speedster. She wasn’t going to catch them or outrun them in an empty room, but when there were obstacles, maybe she could duck out of the way of them in time. At least, that’s what she was hoping for. Actively working for, actually. As she dove behind one of the training dummies, she swore, clapping a hand over where the arrow had skimmed her arm. “You’re, uh, going for nonlethal shots, right?” She called out to Cora. She’d asked before, but checking every thirty seconds couldn’t hurt.

It will be. I won't get upset if the new one picks someone I wouldn't have. I would be more upset if they don't pick someone that I have had playing when I was there. Because I know how those players would feel. As for any job, I don't know. I have had the jobs that I wanted. I always wanted to be a football player, and I did that. And I managed the national team. If someone said if I stayed in the job and England could have won in the Euros and the World Cup, then I would take that. But I really have no idea what job is next for me.

Good to know because I'm a curious girl who talks a lot. A Lot. That has to be hard for you. Are you going to be one of those people who is going to get upset when the new manager chooses someone that you wouldn't have? I can't imagine just how hard that would have been. Pretty sure I wouldn't have been able to be in your shoes. What I meant is - If you could have any job in the world, none of them are off limits, which would you choose to do next?

I remember there was like- a lot in the show.

Like there was an episode where one of the bratty girls had to come to terms with the idea that her horse would have to be put down and she'd have to find a new horse.

Another time where one of the girls like fell off her horse and was scared to ride again, but it turned out that the main girl's horse was sick and like dying.

Another one was literally about an old cat dying.

There was a lot of death.

Lowkey high-key had a crush on the main girl (and the main girls horse- THE HORSES SPOKE, IT'S NOT THAT WEIRD.)
