tl;dr - he has enough charm and good-nature that he is able to make others forget he is matthos baratheon's son. but there are times that the confidence that oozes from him and the vague entitlement that flickers around him reminds others a little too much of his father. most days he plays the golden prince convincingly, endearing himself to smallfolk and nobles alike. there has been a certainty to his life since he was a boy that he would one day be king and he walks with an invincibility, his charm his armour and his father's power his shield.

life was altered when he father slew the dragon prince, laying claim to the throne himself and giving his son the promise of a crown in his future. sebastion thinks it is for the better, moving from storms end to the red keep is met with excitement rather than trepidation. viewing it as an adventure over all else.

education is expansive, maesters imparting their knowledge about the kingdoms he will one day rule. he pays attention as long as they can hold his interest, stories of battles and gallant deeds interesting him above all else. it's his father's attention he really craves, excelling only because it will bring forth praise from the stag king's lips.

the older he grows the more he seeks to be like matthos, countless will draw comparisons to their looks but many miss the similarities of their natures. sebastion is pulled by his desires like his father, he simply possesses enough tact to keep any flashes of hedonism hidden. he follows his whims but on the whole they lead to harmless fun.

attempts at alliances are made, ravens sent and flattering words put to parchment. the prince wonders if it isn't a little unnecessary, taking support and fondness for granted. nonetheless he follows his advisors lead and corresponds to all they deem necessary.

his role as master of laws was handed to him by his father, its previous holder encouraged to step to the side. small council meetings should hold his interest after all he holds some care for the kingdoms he will one day rule. he pays enough attention and thinks that he contributes well but it is easy to persuade him if suggestion is made in the correct way. all it takes is to play on his ego, convince him the idea was his all along and he will happily go along with it.

every king needs his queen and his has been selected for him for so long their wedding seems inevitable. he has every intention of them being a happy couple for all of westeros to adore, pleased by what he has heard of the stark's countenance. it matters not that another has laid claim to his heart when he believes that he can have his queen and his love.

14. Do They have a hard time opening up to people?

With most people, yes. At least until he's learned to trust them. It's why he and Shadowheart got along instantly, they both clearly Had Things they didn't want to talk about, so there was a quiet understanding between the two of them which made it easier to open up later. I do think there are some exceptions, there are people who he just trusts, even if he shouldn't. (He immediately trusts the Dream Guardian to hold true to his word, despite having no clue who this person even is. But he knows that they will protect him, and if they say using the tadpoles must be fine... Surely it is, right?)

15. What kind of sense of humor do they have? Or do they have one at all?

I'll be honest, I have a hard time putting this into words... BUT. I do think Drystan has a sense of humor! It's maybe a bit dry, and often if he's cracking a joke it's pretty deadpan. He also isn't the type to start a prank war, but he will join in on one if someone pulls a prank on him!

27. Has a chance encounter ever had an unexpected effect on them?

I'm... not going to go with the obvious here, with getting the tadpole. (unless you want me to, in which case I will follow up with that...) But I WILL talk about the first time Drystan met Alfira! He met her near the grove, when she was struggling to compose a piece... Something about that encounter really softened him. Maybe it was her hope while facing down such terrible grief, maybe it was because he was able to have an impact, he wasn't quite sure. But watching her perform really moved him in a way he wasn't expecting, and for the first time felt like he could actually bring hope to these tieflings. Also it made him wish he'd picked up an instrument, he longed for the freedom she was clearly feeling in that moment.

40. If they found a sword in a stone would they try to pull it out? How would they react to being able to pull it out or not?

Oh 1000%, Drystan would immediately try to pull it out. First off, cool sword! There must be something special about it if it's just in a stone. He... doesn't always consider if things are wise before doing them, so he'd just reach for it. And if he couldn't get it out, he'd think he was doing something wrong and take a different approach. Whether that be studying the area around it, trying a different grip, seeing if he can wriggle it free, etc. But Drystan wouldn't think getting the sword out is impossible, he just hasn't found the correct solution yet.

41. Do they learn from their mistakes?

Ehhh... Sometimes? Depends on if it affects another person or not. Upset a companion? Definitely he takes that into account and tries to do better next time, unless the companion is doing something self destructive or bad for them. But if it only affects him? No... No, not really. He tries, but sometimes he gets a little to hot-headed and/or caught up in the moment to think through things clearly.

“I can’t believe it I lost!”, Morikawa yelled as he held his head.

“I can.”, Kamui replied plainly.

“Man, this dude sucks and Honda thought I couldn’t beat a dueling monkey.”, Jonouchi replied.

“Rematch! I just had a bad hand that’s all!”, Morikawa replied.

“Fine, sure if you want to be destroyed again.”, Jonouchi replied.

“I e-end my turn.”, Aichi said.

“I draw and I activate Swords of Revealing Light then end my turn”, Yugi said.

“His deck is really good at conserving it’s resources hopefully I can stall for a bit or maybe get him to use up more of his cards.”, Yugi thought.

Aichi’s nervous expression made Yugi smile a bit. He hasn’t had a duel like this in awhile. Where either his own life or the world wasn’t at stake it was rather nice. It was very refreshing having an opponent not try to kill him or use a shadow game. Just a fun duel with a good friend. That was a big appeal of dueling. So, many of his opponents have been enemies recently. He almost forgot that.

Which Exotic is the Most Exotic

Not a all exotic weapons are created equal, some have a single simple perk while others have multiple complex ones. On this list I will give points to each weapon based on a number of things: being an elemental primary is worth 1 point, having an exotic perk is worth 1 point (if the perk does 2 things its worth 2 example: Red Death), having a perk that is not normally found on its weapon type is worth 1 point (does not include perks like phantom gift that became normal perks), being in the wrong slot is worth 1 point (example: No Land Beyond) and, having an excessively high stat (example Gjallarhorn’s damage). Raid exclusive perks (example: oracle disruptor) will be worth no points.

The Touch of Malice: I subracted 1 point from the Touch of Malice’s score because of the damage that it does to the player. Because of this damage the weapon is almost unusable in content other that Oryx.

Conclusion:

First place is a tie between The Chaperone and The First Curse. Both weapons change a lot of stats and each stat change was counted. Second place was the Nemesis Star which also changes a few stats depending on how long its being fired. Third place is a tie between Universal remote, Zhalo Supercell and, Fabian Strategy; I gave Universal Remote an extra point for being 1 of 2 shotguns to have precision damage. I ended up giving The 4th Horseman a 0 because its exotic perk is the same as full auto.

and since it’s sort of brought up . . . i wasn’t going to say this to anyone until i, like, wrote it, but -

the ending of kyrstan is going to get completely redone and what happened in the first draft is N O T  C A N O N so pretend as if those last chapters, at least the parts concerning kyrell and drystan, do not exist

i know you told us to give you criticism on vlv (at least i think you did) and i have a whole essay about one particular piece of the ending, but i really don’t want to insult your storytelling or the plot and its just hhhhhhhhhh

no please send it in, i’ve gotten some essays already

also yeah the ending execution is the part i’m least proud of besides the way-too-fast chapters at the beginning :,)
