With the search having been called off for the night, Nyra did want to keep going with her own efforts but the full moon had her shift and take to the salt water pools of the court for the time being. The coolness of the water relaxing her far more than anything had since the kidnappings. Underwater held a quality that above ground could never compete with, and had she no responsibilities, she would seek the depths of the oceans every time. Swimming to shallower parts, Nyra bobbed her head above water, only next beat a look of surprise took over her face at the sight of the young siren, "Oh, hello Billie." Despite knowing the girl's past, one that laced through her own, and of everything that had happened at the carnival, Nyra's features and tone remained soft, "It's good to see you here."

It was not his intention to be walking under the Sakura trees as threads of blue began to weave into the black of the night. Time had definitely slipped him by, but there was something peaceful about this – or maybe it was the drink talking, but under the subtle fragrance of the blossoms, secluded from noises and people, restlessness waned to a dull ache as Ken allowed his mind to wander. It had been a couple days now since the dance had concluded, an event much like most he had come to experience in this town had ended in a disaster causing some type of irreversible damage, but rather than dwell on that, Ken’s attention was on something else entirely.Focus on anything else was futile, he had left Leyla to deal with sister while he dealt with his own brother.  Brother. Goddamn. A word often thought of with worry but even knowing Ko was alive, strangely it was still laced with worry. Heavy was the thought, and heavier was the swig Ken took from the bottle as he decided to sit. And then lie down entirely starting up at the shadowy branches, only shifting at the rustle of footsteps to voice his annoyance to whoever decided to disturb his peace, “I’m not leaving, if that was something you were going to ask.”

Once again I want to emphasize I may have missed or mistaken information here. Please make your own list using this one if you want to see changes made.

So we land on Raxus Prime. And we're immediately accosted by Raxus Jawas. G tries "his brand of diplomacy" and it fails. Regina tries actual diplomacy, and at least makes nicer with the Jawas, but once they spot Jekjek, he's the one they want to talk to. Not only does Jekjek save us from having all our tech stolen, we get coordinates to a derelict ship where we can find another IG unit.

My notes here are... confusing. G has a brief shootout with his sibling IG-272-A, but they weren't really trying to destroy each other? It was some sort of posturing. 272-A agrees to take us to meet the other IGs, but we take 272-A's ship so we won't know where exactly we're going.

We arrive at what was probably at some point a big fighting arena, but there are 15 podiums in a circle. Various IG droids stand in order of model number. I have no notes on how the discussion goes, but the party asks them for help against the Sith on Raxus Prime.

Imma be honest, my notes here are a mess. I understand there are 9 IG units still funcitoning, and 8 of them are here. Another 8 have been destroyed. Heeeeere's what I got on the IG family/council. In... In number order. Because I don't know how to untangle this otherwise.

IG-270 is... a literal tank. This is a droid who has modified its original body into a tank because it hates "squishies" so much. 270 votes on behalf of itself and IG-276. 2 votes in favor of helping the party. (Presumably because it hates the Sith more than it hates squishies?)

IG-271 has extensive experience wtih the Sith. It lost its left arm due to them, which has been replaced with non-IG parts. It's a blaster canon and it has an external power source in order to fire it. 271 has no personal vote on the council, but votes on behalf of the 275 units. 3 votes in favor, 2 votes against helping the party.

IG-272 units A and Billy are individuals that have not worked with the Sith. They have their own vote on the council. Billy hates squishies, but not as much as 270. 1 vote in favor, 1 vote against helping the party. Surprisingly, it's Billy that voted in favor and A that voted against.

IG-273 units A-C are a hivemind and have refused to work with the Sith. 3 votes against helping the party.

IG-274 units B-D were destroyed by the 275 units. G's full designation is IG-274-A, and he destroyed the 275s in retaliation. The 274s used to work with the Sith, but stopped. (But my notes are unclear if this means all the 274s had stopped, or it's just that G has stopped.) G votes on behalf of himself and the other 274 units. 4 votes in favor of helping the party.

IG-275 units A-E have been destroyed. They used to work with the Sith. Destroying the 274 units were part of a mission. (Votes given to 271.)

IG-276 is the one functioning IG droid that is not present, and doesn't have an official "council" spot. This is also the only IG unit created by the other IG units. It's made from 275 hardware and 274 software. And it's missing. (Vote given to 270.)

The voting takes... a while. In the end, it's 10 votes in favor and 6 votes against helping the party. (If I counted that right. Lemme check -- yeah. 10 and 6.) And since they voted in favor, I guess that means it doesn't matter if we know where this location is now? Billy hands over a datachip with a set of coordinates. We're 3km north of the Axle. A Sith base is 2km southeast from the council location. There are three normal assassins and one elite assassin at the base, according to their last intel.

The 272 and 273 units will pose themselves as a peace offering from Muunilist and infiltrate the Sith base. They intend to kill anyone of their determination of "value", which includes pilots and Force users.

"We" infiltrate the Sith base. (Unclear if the party is going in separately from the IG units, but I assume so.) It's a huge, gutted engine? There's combat involved. Regina is not, apparently, aaaaany good at it. I have a note here: Blankity-blank me gently with a chainsaw. So I assume I was extremely frustrated lmao.

In all the frackas, a Sith Lord appears and puts a vibrodagger to Jee-la's throat. She's extremely upset by this because, well, threat on her life, but ALSO this Sith Lord was a friend of Jee-la's before he left the Jedi order.

This Sith Lord is Jack Xixus. He's Vosh's multi-times great grandson and he is PISSED at Vosh. Apparently Vosh has 4 million in INTEREST in a bank, which can't be accessed except by Vosh's fingerprint and he's been missing forrrrrr a couple hundred years. Jack's family had to hide within the Jedi order to escape enemies that Jack made.

Quoteth the noteth:

Jack & Vosh have a family history lesson. It's ridiculous and if Jack wasn't a Sith, Regina would almost be amused.

Through a combination of Vosh's bullshit and Regina's hostage negotiation, Jack lets Jee-la go. Jack shakes Vosh's hand, then the idiot decides to taunt him about the glove now having his fingerprints.

Man. I miss when Regina had telepathy. That isn't a thing in the game system we're using now. Vosh telepathically asks Regina to "yoink" the glove from Jack. She walks up behind Jack like she's gonna do it--

And then FJDSKA DECAPITATES HIM WTIH HER LIGHTSABER. I DON'T REMEMBER WHY I DID THIS. I DON'T REMEMBER MY LOGIC. Then she takes the glove off his body and hands it to Vosh while he's in complete shock. (In hindsight, I really don't know whether this was because he was appalled that Regina killed a member of his family he didn't know he had, or if he was proud of her dark-side moment.)

Meanwhile, Jekjek's been ratting his way around the base's computer files and found some things that -- literally -- have Vosh's name on them. One is a letter to Vosh. The other is for Regina.

I'm. I just. Hh. I'm just gonna quote how I summarized it.

"I'm so sad you had to kill me." It was an inevitability. But it wasn't Jack Xixus. Technically. The man she killed had legally changed his name, and he was an ant, compared to the real Jack. Jack took a lot of spice and can see the future. He knows where Jeren and Enlin are. We were supposed to get these lists. If we seek Jack out, bring more than one Jedi. If we go after the other two first, we'll die for sure. Jack, Lord of Shadows, is on Korriban with the Lord of Assassins. The Mistress of Pain is on Naboo but will be on Korriban at the same time as us.

Which. WHAT? Is he mentioning Jeren and Enlin as a threat or does he have them? Go after the other two what first? He obviously (probably?) doesn't mean the other two of his triumvirate because they're all going to Korriban? Are we dealing with three Sith factions here??

Some sidenotes:

One: Vosh was SO PROUD and also SO ANNOYED that Jack survived.

Two: I remember saying out of character, "He wasn't fake until I killed him!" and GM replied, "No, he wasn't going to die until you killed him."

Three: GM expected Vosh or Fasat to try and kill Jack, which is why Regina's sneak attack was so successful lol

It says we got lists but it doesn't say what the lists are of or for but there's a sidebar with an arrow at them saying murder murder murder recruit recruit. I'm sure it meant something to me at the time. It's been like 10 years. Idk anymore.

An IG droid comes into the room. G says that's IG-276, the missing one. G has so many questions, but in answer to all of them, 276 just repeats, "I can tell you nothing, I can tell you nothing, I can tell you nothing." G resigns to this and they shake hands, but then 276 RIPS G'S ARM OFF? Then rips off one of HIS OWN ARMS? They trade arms and 276 gives G a blaster pistol. They point guns at each other and apologize to each other and G lets 276 walk away.

There are so many references to arming and disarming each other here. When we ask G wtf that was all about, snide motherfucker just goes I can tell you nothing.

So since we're done here we call Dart to pick us up. As he's landing and we're starting to head toward the ship, something like a COMET impacts extremely close to us...

Hello, and welcome to my brand new fanfiction for the anime My Hero Academia/Boku no Hero Academia! This anime makes me so happy and I’m always so hyped when I watch the anime. I’ve been reading a lot of fanfiction for the series lately, and I decided I wanted to write, one as well! I spent weeks trying to find a plot that worked for me and I’m so excited that I found one.

I’d like to give some information about the series before you begin reading!

First off, this fic will be written in the first-person point of view, occasionally switching to third-person for the story’s sake. The original character, Jen Winchester, is quite snarky and cusses like a sailor, so I’d like to add a warning for explicit language. I usually go with really angsty themes, and I was planning on making it that way at first, but I want to try and create a fic that makes people laugh and smile! That’s not to say there won’t be any angst at all, but I’m going to try and make it less so with her remarks and attitude.

While I am mainly writing this fic for myself because it makes me happy, I’m more than happy to share it with others! Hopefully, you guys enjoy it as much as I am. I hope you’ll take a moment to share your thoughts and comments with me~

As for the pairing, I haven’t yet decided who she will be paired with, but there will be romance later on. Currently, I’m thinking of Todoroki or someone from class 1-B, but this could change in the future. I will try my best not to make her a Mary-Sue or super overpowered. I’ve gone over the plot of this fic with my friend, who is super critical when it comes to the small details, so hopefully, everything will flow smoothly from one event to the other without too many plot holes.

Jen Winchester grew up in a world where superpowers exist only on the big screen or lining the pages of books. sanctuary - part 3

summary: Subject 001. That’s what you’ve been called your whole life. You’ve known nothing but pain, violence, and isolation. You were their greatest secret weapon, but when your final mission is to ensure the end of the universe, you escape to Hawkins, Indiana to team up with Eleven and to put an end to all this chaos, once and for all - you just never expected to fall in love with the resident bad boy along the way.

A/N: fuck episode 8. i am so upset. thank god for fanfiction amirite? i was too emotionally distrought to think of a better ending for this chapter, but things start picking up next chapter - i will include what happened to billy in season 3 in this story, with some obvious tweaks.

“Pick your poison”

You stared at the plastic menu in front of you, not entirely sure what any of these foods were. It’s not like they fed you burgers and fries over at the military base. The options were overwhelming to you. Pancakes, hot dogs, milkshakes … was any of this good?

“I - I don’t know what to get …”

Billy put down his menu and stared at you, taking in your features a lot better now that you both sat under the bright light of the diner. Your (Y/H/C) hair was messy, as if it hadn’t been washed in days. The bruises around face, especially the one near your cheek looked more colorful than before. Hues of purple and yellow contrasted against your (Y/S/C) skin. The dark bags under your eyes made it seem as if you hadn’t slept in days.

You hadn’t.

“What, you’ve never had a cheeseburger before?” he questioned incredulously. You shook your head, “No, I don’t even know what this pancake food is. Is it any good?”

Billy scoffed loudly, “You’re joking right?”

Your eyes shifted around, cocking your head to the side, “No Billy, why would I lie to you?” your voice spoke softly.

He was taken aback by your comment. His shoulders relaxed and a soft expression appeared on his face, “You’re right … I’m sorry. I’m kinda new to this whole being nice thing” he muttered. 

A loud noise coming from the back of the kitchen from the diner distracted the both of you from your conversation. A tall, lanky waitress with thin hair was sauntering over, her face looking very annoyed. Billy quickly lowered his head towards you, “Whatever you do, don’t say a word. I’ll do the talking” he hissed at you quickly.

You nodded solemnly. He was the only one that had helped you get this far - the least you could is follow his instructions.

The waitress then appeared to your table. Smacking her gum loudly, a notepad in her hand. She glanced over at you, then frowned, “Boy kid, what happened to your face?”

You stared at her blankly, not knowing exactly what to do in this situation which was strange because you always knew what to do in sticky situations. It usually resulted in someone getting hurt or dying though. This situation however, was different. You never really interacted with people outside of the men that usually monitored your every move, so social cues were hard for you to grasp, along with sarcasm and certain expressions. Your eyes slowly shifted to look at Billy, waiting for him to speak on your behalf. 

“Car accident. Nasty one. Just got out of the hospital so we’re celebrating, right?” he gave you a hard looking, pressing on the fact that he needed you to play along with his little game. So you did.

“Yup. Car accident” was all you said. 

“She’s gonna take the cheeseburger with fries, I’m just gonna have a chocolate milkshake” He quickly said, trying to divert the conversation back. The waitress quickly jotted the food down on her notepad. She turned on her heel and disappeared back into the kitchen.

Billy let out a breath of air from his mouth, sinking back into his seat. “That was close. Nice playing along”

You nodded, fiddling with the large sleeve of your hoodie as silence settled between the two of you. You weren’t exactly the best at holding conversations, and neither was Billy. You mostly spoke when you were spoken to, and Billy just usually avoided people unless he was trying to get in someone’s pants.

“So uh,” he started, trying to break the awkwardness, “How did you uh, manage to make your way to this hellhole?”

You shrugged. “I killed a guy, stole his wallet, bought a plane ticket and walked the rest of my way here.” you spoke so nonchalantly it sent chills down his spine. The way you spoke about certain things had a sense of innocence to them, but the fact that you could easily kill the next person that walked in the diner almost terrified him. You stopped fiddling with your sleeve when you realized Billy was quiet.

“I’m not a monster you know” you quietly said, your eyes avoiding his blue ones. “I know I have these ... powers ... and I know I’ve used them to hurt people ... but I’m not a monster” your voice was full of emotion. Billy shifted in his seat, his lips pressed together, not sure how to respond to you. He knew what other people at school saw him as. 

A bully, an asshole, a womanizer.

But in reality, Billy was a broken man, misunderstood. Seeing you become vulnerable in front of him tugged at his heart strings - which surprised him since not many things could make him feel so emotional.

“What are you?” he quietly asked.

You shrugged again, “I know as much as you do. They kept me in the dark. I was used to kill important people, people who would get in the way of their plan”

Billy’s eyes narrowed, “Who’s they?”

“The Russians, sometimes they would lend me to other people - to kill you know? I’m assuming they probably got paid money for it. Brenner always told me I was their prized possession. I was trained for as long as I could remember, until I perfected my powers.”

Billy tensed up, his leg twitching under the table, “So what other powers do you have?”

“Just the fire stuff - plus I’m really strong” you grinned at him. From the way you were shaped there was no way anyone would know what you could snap a tree in half with your bare hands. 

“Yeah, I figured that much” he glanced down at his wrist, rotating it to make sure that it was still working. 

You pressed your lips together, your expression softening, feeling guilty that you had hurt him earlier. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you … I just don’t - “

“- like being grabbed at … I get it. My old man can be hard on me sometimes” 

Your eyebrows etched together, “Old man? You have an old man?”

Billy let out a laugh, “It’s another expression. It’s my dad. He’s a piece of shit”

You noticed his face hardening at the mention of his dad, his whole body stiffening. Unsure how to comfort him, you hesitantly reached out and placed a hand over his, warmth emitting from your palm. He looked up at you, his face now softening at the mere touch of his hand. His blue eyes boring into your (E/C) eyes. There was that feeling again, the feeling of butterflies in your stomach. You brushed it off this time, wanting to make sure that he was okay. 

“Brenner is a piece of shit too. I understand”

There was a moment of silence between the two of you. Billy didn’t move his hand away, rather enjoying the warmth from your hand. Your touch was such a small gesture, but to Billy kindness was something he really didn’t get too much often. Not since his mom had left anyways.

The silence was broken by the waitress barging out of the kitchen. You quickly swiped your hand away from Billy - as if you were doing something inappropriate and didn’t want to get caught. She placed the cheeseburger in front of you, and the milkshake in front of Billy who murmured a thanks before she made her way back into the kitchen.

You took a deep breath, the smell of the beef and cheese hitting your nostrils. It was magnificent. You had never smelled anything so amazing before, your mouth was watering, your eyes were gleaming with excitement. Food was always given to you, but you were on a strict diet, to keep your body as fit as could be. But this? This was different. Billy watched you amusedly as he ripped open a straw and placed it in his milkshake.

“Well go on, take a bite” he urged.

Your hands picked up the large burger and you took a bite. Your eyes widened, the different flavors hitting your tongue, your taste buds were on fire. You closed your eyes, relishing the taste in your mouth, chewing ever so slowly so that you could taste every ingredient. 

“Oh my god” you moaned. Billy couldn’t help but grin at you, it was like watching a little kid eat a burger for the first time.

“This is the most amazing thing I have ever tasted in my whole life!” you exclaimed, taking another large bite.

“You should try the fries - with ketchup” he advised, taking a sip of his milkshake.

He reached over to the end of the booth and grabbed the red bottle at the end. He leaned over and drizzled ketchup over your fries, quickly taking a fry with him but you didn’t mind. You picked up a fry and placed it in your mouth. Another loud moan came from you, your eyes almost rolling in the back of your head.

“Billy. This is amazing, this has been the best day of my life” you spoke with food in your mouth but he didn’t care, he was too amused at all your reactions.

Billy glanced up at the clock on the wall. 11 pm. Shit, it was getting late.

“Hey, uh, I’m gonna go use the bathroom real quick. Stay put, don’t destroy anything” he jokingly added. You were too engrossed in your burger to give him any real attention, so you just waved him off as he quickly rose up and made his way to the back of the diner. He turned the corner and walked over to the payphone that was next to the bathrooms. He looked over his shoulder, making sure that you weren’t following him.

He reached into his pocket and pulled out the Wheeler’s number, dialing it quickly as he held the phone between his head and shoulders.

A soft voice answered the phone, “Wheeler residence”

“Hey, Mrs. Wheeler it’s Billy”

Her voice suddenly went up a couple of octaves, “Billy! Hello! Calling so late, is everything okay?”

Billy shuffled his feet, “Yeah, um, is Nancy there? I need to ask her about an assignment”

There was a momentary pause on the other side. Billy heard shuffling and voices, “Yes, she’s here, - Nance! Hey Nance! Billy’s on the phone for you!”

Billy heard the phone being passed off. Mrs. Wheeler’s soft voice was replaced by Nancy’s nervous one. “Hi, Billy?”

“Wheeler. I’m gonna make this quick. I need your help.”

There was another pause, and then more shuffling. “Hey mom, I’m gonna take this phone call upstairs” Nancy announced to her mother. Billy heard the thudding of footsteps as Nancy made her way into her bedroom.

“Hargrove, what the hell do you want?” her voice suddenly became cold.

“One of Eleven’s buddies is here and I can’t watch her” he spoke in a hushed tone.

“What? Her buddies? What do you mean?”

“Wheeler, I need to bring her to your house. She can’t stay at mine” he pressed on.

“Hargrove, what the hell are you talking about?!” she questioned hotly.

“I can’t explain right now, I don’t have time, but I need to come over.” His foot was twitching at this point.

He felt Nancy’s hesitation, but she finally responded. “Okay, okay. Um, meet me by my back gate in 15 minutes”

“Deal”

He hung up the phone. He was making his way back to the booth when he caught a certain red car out of the corner of his eye. His face blanched and he felt his stomach drop when he realized who’s car that was.

“Shit. Shit. Fuck” 

He turned the corner and saw Tommy H. with Alex M. towering over you. You looked small, cowering in the booth. They both were laughing loudly, picking and eating the large fries that were sitting in front of you.

You looked up from the table and made eye contact with Billy, the look in your eyes were pleading for him to stop this.

“Tommy, Alex, what the hell are you guys doing here?” Billy’s voice was low, rough.

Tommy and Alex stopped laughing and turned to their attention to the familiar voice behind them. Billy hated dealing with those 2, along with Carol. They were the bane of his existence - and yet they followed him around like a lost puppy dog.

“Hargrove! I didn’t know you liked to screw around with fucked up chicks!” Tommy exclaimed, glancing back at your cowered frame. The words stung, but you remained quiet, letting Billy take over the situation. “We spotted your car so we knew we had to stop in”

“You guys need leave now” his voice was terrifying low now. Anger was starting to set in and you could hear it in his voice.

Alex let out a nervous laugh, “Hargrove, c’mon, it’s us. We just want to know who your little friend is” Alex walked over and patted Billy on his shoulder. Billy just stared at him in disgust.

“Yeah, like is she good in the sack? Does she give good head?” Tommy quickly added, reaching down and taking another fry, staring at you with a smirk on his face. 

Your hand twitched from under the table. Your temper rising.

Not a monster, not a monster, not a monster

You repeated that mantra in your head.

Billy stared at his friend, his mouth set in a hard line. Although you had no idea what ‘in the sack’ or ‘give good head’ meant, you knew it had some sort of sexual connotation with it with the way they were eyeing you up and down. If Billy Hargrove had fucked her - odds are she was a good fuck and they wanted a taste.

Tommy looked down at you again, “I’d give her an 7, maybe an 8 if she didn’t looked so fucked up” he sneered.

Billy could hear the muscles in your jaw crack as you clenched your jaw. Your expression hardening as Tommy casually reached his hand down again to grab another fry.

Game over

But before his fingers could even touch a fry, you quickly grabbed his wrist, slamming his hand down on the table so hard you could hear the joints in his hand. Tommy wailed in pain, his eyes widening so hard it looked like it was going to bulge out of his face. You stood up from your seat, keeping his hand pinned to the table. 

“Call me fucked up one. more. time”  you hissed at him, your jaw set as you stared at him. You maintained eye contact with him as he whimpered in pain. You could feel the table starting to crack as you pressed down harder. Tommy’s face twisted in agony, his mouth letting out a loud scream.

Your palm started to feel hot, you were so close to burning his hand off when Billy quickly ran over and yanked you away by your arm. Tommy collapsed to the ground, tears streaming down his face as he grabbed his hand to his chest. Alex ran over to his friend, picking him up from the floor.

“What the fuck are you doing?!” he spoke to you through gritted teeth. You snatched away your arm from his grip. But before you could give him an answer  the waitress suddenly came barging through, her eyes scanning the scene.

“All of you! Out of here!” she yelled at the four of you.

Billy walked around his two friends, reaching into his pocket and slamming a twenty dollar bill next to your plate. He grabbed your hand, leading you outside to his car without saying a word.

He quickly ushered you in his car, making his way around to the driver’s side and opening up the door. He quickly sat down and started the engine and pulled out of the parking lot so quickly it made your head spin. 

“You can’t fucking pull shit like that! What the hell were you thinking?!” he screamed at you, reaching for his pack of cigarettes in his center console.

“I was defending myself! I wasn’t going to let him speak to me like that” you retorted back.

“Yeah? By breaking his hand?! Real fucking smart!”

“Fuck you!”

“No fuck you!”

You were breathing heavily, your heart felt like it was going to pound out of your chest. But you were so angry, incredibly angry. How dare he question your right to defend yourself. Billy reached for his zippo lighter and flicked it open, trying to light it but was unsucessful. He angrily chucked it by his feet, feeling frustrated. You instinctivly reached over and snapped your fingers, emitting a flame from your hand.

Billy looked over at you. Your nostrils flaring and your eyes burning with anger. but yet you still had the kindness in you to help light his cigarette. 

You were spitfire and crazy. Bruised and broken. Just like him. 

He had never had someone - let alone a girl - speak to him to the way you just did. But it made you all the more interesting to him. Although he would have never admitted it at the moment but seeing Tommy H cry like a baby almost made him want to smile.

He leaned over to the flame, cigarette in his mouth. It quickly lit and he took a deep inhale.

You let the flame disappear from your hand. Crossing your arms, a scowl on your face as you both drove towards the Wheeler residence in silence.

hello hello !!  here’s a (  hopefully ) small introduction to kaos’ resident gay Mess™ , gwen / zeus !!   i’ve also put together some pages that i hope will facilitate things: this is her BIOGRAPHY,  STATISTICS   here you can find a  CONNECTIONS / WANTED PLOTS  ( && it goes without saying that they are open to all genders + i’m happy to brainstorm something for our characters from scratch and/or tailoring these however you guys like !!  )

━━ 001. gwen lang was born unwanted. the circumstances surrounding her birth are unpropitious, so she is placed into the foster care system when she is but hours old. it takes a while before the first couple even comes forward ( most likely a pair looking to remedy their broken connection ), and afterward the placement does not click. so she’s back under the system’s care, and the tale repeats itself. the constant handing over and move from one ‘home’ to the other. there just comes a point where young gwen is incredibly crestfallen, already sensing that she will be moved in months time. she develops a habit of running away ( if she’s going to be alone, it should be on her own terms, right? ) 

━━ 002. once her chances are exhausted, she is warned against running away from the tutors’ care as she faces being thrown into a juvenile detention center. so she settles down with the last family, and eventually, she finds comfort and tranquility with them. it is a bumpy road, but it’s the first time she has a group of people to whom refer to as ‘family’. 

━━ 003. gwen truly has got a tonic of wildness running through her rather than blood. as a teenager, she is very involved in the school culture. she’s wicked smart, she's the fem soccer team captain, debate team captain and president of the student council. she’s got charisma to spare, so it’s normal to see her socializing with everyone. however, she lacks discipline. she is unorganized and impulsive, and begins to gravitate toward all things unhealthy. she does everything and becomes close to everyone (including those she shouldn’t have, all in the hopes of never feeling alone or abandoned ever again), preferring to have this over not having anything that provides comfort -- as short-lived as it is -- at all. there are absolutely no inhibitions or restraints on her behalf nor her family’s ---- it’s so much easier to excuse herself, garnish it with a smile, and do it all over again than halt it. 

━━ 004. all of gwen’s desire orbit around simplicity and satisfaction. but, as life would have it, the sudden realization that she is no longer a child hits her like a train. her family cuts her off ( good riddance bish ) and so she gets slapped with this overwhelming mix of uncertainty and frustration and despair, for she is now totally on her own with no clue as to how to get her life together. 

━━ 005. she ends up in kaos thanks to her job. growing up scarred by the system’s flaws, she develops this desire to shed a light on the matter by pursuing journalism. of course, it’s easier said than done: on one hand, she feels blessed for having found a job right up her alley working for a french publication, but on the other, she is just getting started and has to rise up to actually begin writing about her passions. tl;dr: she travels over to the island to write about for this paper. 

━━ PERSONALITY! gwen is someone who seeks enjoyment and pleasure in all things, places and people. she is a social butterfly, easily striking up others ( to trust them, though, that’s another thing ). she’s got this confidence and ease with people intertwined with a charm that truly give zeus’ authority a run for his money. she takes pride in her humor, but this can border on bluntness ( first flaw, strike one). surprisingly, she also wants to provide for others ( to provide for children like her who could not be raised in proper conditions in the crucial stages of their lives ( & this is zeus’ just side coming through ) // provide happiness and exciting experiences to others that may or may not give off a good impression about her ). but she is someone who does it using the wrong means. she’s so prone to annoyance and addictions and joining the wrong crowd ( and her aims might be misunderstood ). the main problem here is that she is Childish with capital C. she dislikes complex structures and complications, as well people confronting her with facts & trying to alter her way of life. there is an obnoxious stubbornness to her that goes hand in hand with this refusal to see the world as it is / confront the truth. her rocky road left her with a skill to be persistently cruel when she wants to ( as in, words = weapons ). she is immature to a dangerous extreme, and would need to acknowledge this fault and make her way toward becoming more responsible and open to actually healthy+pragmatic ideas. and, in true zeus fashion, she up until recently lived under this illusion that what she did had no consequence but boy Oh Boy was she wrong.

Ken: That depends on experience and practise but yes it is easier to tell the truth instead of twisting it but not many, even the ones that aren't held to it by a species requirement, do. Ken: I think it does, law is quite literally in my title. Ken: I see. Isn't refusal to answer a variation on bending and twisting the truth? Or does it not count because it's avoidance? Sometimes it's much simpler to just tell it. Ken: I suppose. I'm only undead inside the mirage though, out of it, I no longer exist to the world, that's rather permanent. It is difficult yes, but I did let them, it didn't not benefit them from what I could tell.

Billie: It's not very easy to bend or twist the truth. Sometimes it's much simpler to just tell it. Billie: You are very judgy, it's true. And I don't believe that being a lawyer makes your word law, but nice try. Billie: Perhaps I'll simply never answer yes or no questions straight ever again. It might serve me well. Billie: It's only temporary, the whole death thing. That's why they call it an undeath, correct? And I don't know. Let them care for you? Let them be fond? It's more difficult than it sounds.

          Taught to punch first, waste his breath later, Roman was only a child when he learned of a cruel mistress by the name of pain. First introduced from his own family, ( brother Billy, ) he was quick in becoming close friends with not only pain but her loyal companion ; hatred. Branching over the whole of his body year after year, it shaped Roman as he grew into his size eleven boots. He was silent, not so friendly towards the people confident enough in approaching him & had followed in the footsteps of his older brother. Billy was the sibling with charisma, his mug ; not so pleasing to look at but his honeyed words, along with his nose for money, kept his little brother coming back for more. In the beginning, it was just small-crime ; sporadic robberies & inside jobs but once Billy uncovered a certain niche Roman happened to excel at, it was game over. He pushed his little brother into underground fighting & garnered attention when placing bets, spilling both rumors & lies just to swipe at the chance for more cash. Billy was shockingly generous by now, proved in the amount he shared with Roman ; just a few K’ over half, more than enough to cover his facial repairs. Those were always hard to explain down at the docks ; his feeble attempt at keeping a regular job in packing away boxes. Despite his boss always testing Roman’s boundaries, Ames wasn’t enough to drown out the quiet peace that this occupation brought him. Billy was though! Each & every time he dropped in unannounced. Holding his chin high in the air --- like he wasn’t about to force Roman into throwing ‘bows with some stranger unknown to him. Or his rage. 

c. 𝙷𝙴𝙰𝙳𝙲𝙰𝙽𝙾𝙽𝚂. tw: suicide. drugs.

     001. His third fight was his first loss but resulted in catching the eye of a personal coach. Through this mentor, Roman was able to keep his skills & his brain focused. Much to Billy’s chagrin, of course ; he wasn’t keen on the idea of anyone wedging him out of his brother’s life. The two continue to dictate what’s best for Roman --- while he focuses on gathering enough money to leave the state.

     002. Both Roman & Billy’s parents are dead. Leonard died from a self-inflicted gunshot & Karol ; from sickness. The Rourke’s were never really close to any other family members. Why their father shot himself, the boys will never truly understand. Neither of them speak of it & neither of them have healed from it.

     003. Despite everything that’s happened in his past, Roman remains strong in his Christian faith, often giving credit towards God when celebrating a victory. Within these moments, he becomes a whole new person ; loud, full of vibrant life & happiness. The only time he falters in belief is when he thinks about his pop.

A-T-2 231 NME Cassettes 

There's a new book been published called Whatever Happened To The C86 Kids? (yawn!) C86 was a cassette put out by the New Musical Express in 1986, 5-years after the C81 cassette. To obtain the cassette you cut out and collected the tokens in the NME then sent them to an address with a small amount of cash and a stamped addressed envelope. The copy on the Facebook ad goes "C86 was the sound and ethos that defined a generation. It was arguably the point in which 'indie' was born. The responses to this are really entertaining and I completely agree with them

A common criticism of C86 is after it the term 'Indie' became synonymous with twee Jangle Pop by white kids, so it had a reductive effect and pushed out more interesting music that was also being released independently. What doesn't get mentioned is the enormous success of The Smiths, who release The Queen Is Dead in 1986, and how they contribute to 'indie' becoming shorthand for jangle pop. The NME was in love with The Smiths, The Queen Is Dead was voted NME's greatest album of all time. The Smiths label Rough Trade later released C86 as an LP

"Birth of Indie? First Indie chart was 1979. "Where's Captain Kirk?" by Spizzenergi was number 1.

Up to 86 or so it was a broad church of sounds and styles [...] am I the only one who thinks the term was misappropriated?"

People took offence at the claim it was the point at which indie was born, it's a misleading claim, it's the point 'indie' is understood to mean jangle pop was born

"It seemed to me it later became a term for a very narrow conservative style"

Something similar happened earlier in this year when in an interview for the Guardian he claimed to have accidentally invited trip-hop, Coldcut responded by pointing out he used to buy Ninja Tune records from them way before then... why let the facts get in the way of a story, especially if you're pedalling some product...

Another criticism is it wasn't as interesting or varied as the original C81 cassette which, astonishingly, came out in 1981 and covered a whole range of post-punk and new wave music, I've shared the some of the bands on here, Scritti Politti, The Beat, Cabaret Voltaire, D.A.F., Essential Logic...

My microblog is called C40 in recognition of these two cassettes and as I'm focusing on music from this time period, 40-years-ago. I own C81 and C86 and much prefer C81... this blog is about variety and in that light why do none of the other NME cassettes get a mention?

Before I forget Simon Reynolds has written about C86 a lot, I kind of agree with his take here

C81 (Copy 001) was produced in conjunction with Rough Trade Records and features artists Rough Trade were distributing in the UK at the time but the NME released another cassette in 1981 called Dancin' Master (NME 001.) Dancin' Master was as varied as C81 but it also included two edited tracks from Sugar Hill records alongside the new wave, no wave, power pop, and reggae

1982, and that's what we're interested in here, Jive Wire (NME 002) carries on from the previous two cassettes moving away from post-punk as popular music was. Like the previous cassettes it's a mixture of exclusives and current releases from artists labels are trying to push
