📚 “C” STACK 📚
QOTD: What’s a book you love that starts with the letter C?
Continuing my alphabet stacks, we’re up to C! As I was putting this together, I thought I had less C books. I was wrong. There were more. Fitting this on my little white sheet was difficult. I’m screwed when I get to even more common letters 😂
I also missed out Check & Mate by Ali Hazelwood bc if you remove a book from your “owned” while browsing “owned” in Storygraph, it messes up the way the list loads the next books 🫠

Thank you for book recommendations! Would you mind to share your favourite books, maybe preferably written by women (but any will do!)? I just feel like I've read criminally not enough of those, but I kinda fear starting books when I'm not sure that they are good because I get discouraged easily (and I definitely need to start reading something that is not on ao3 again).
oh lord this is always such a tough question because i read /so/ much when i was younger, but university sort of robbed some of the joy from me 😭 as such i feel as though i haven't read ... enough to make good recs ... some i've enjoyed by women in recent years (in addition to the goldfinch & the secret history) have been her fearful symmetry by audrey niffenegger and gideon the ninth by tamsyn muir <- people have said the other books in that series are good as well, i just haven't gotten to them yet. i also read room by emma donoghue, but i'd say that was just ... okay (in terms of my own tastes)
OH ALSO it's not a novel per se but the graphic novel fun home by alison bechdel is also super good
other faves, tho not by women, include cloud atlas by david mitchell, the shining by stephen king, and ... well this is maybe just cos i read it recently-ish and enjoyed it, but the novel version of jurassic park (michael crichton) was very enjoyable. and the book for 2001: a space odyssey (arthur c clarke) is Much better than the movie if you ask me

ALISON is ADVENTUROUS, AFFECTIONATE, and CHARMING, but can be NAUGHTY, REBELLIOUS, AND SECRETIVE.
X LAST TIME ON SPELLBOUND…?
Last time we saw Alison Mitchell, she was being incredibly sneaky. If there’s one thing, people know about dear sweet Alison, it’s that she can’t keep her hands to herself.
Did she learn how to recognize boundaries? Did she reveal her secret to her best friends?
X HI, MY NAME IS
Alison Nadia Mitchel was born on July 7th, 1994 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Charles and Lydia. She has Blonde hair, Green eyes, and is currently five feet. She has one younger sister named Savannah. If Aaron is the unofficial leader of the boys then Alison Mitchel is the unofficial leader of the girls. Growing up in Las Vegas for most of her life, she wasn’t that old when her parents finally let her know why she was acting different than the other kids. Realizing that there was no changing who she was, Alison and her parents moved to California when she was just 10. Since Spellbound Academy is for Freshmen to Seniors, she was sent to a public school until she reached the appropriate age. To this day, Alison still doesn’t like the fact that she’s a Vampire and a Witch, but she’s learning to deal with it.
Attending Spellbound for Alison was like a breath of fresh air even though she wouldn’t admit it to most people. She became the Head Cheerleader the start of her Freshmen Year which is something that she’s always loved doing. She’s a nice person, but if you say something about her, you better say it to her face or face the consequences. As long as no one tries to steal her position, she’ll be okay.
Ever since she could remember, Audrey Ganner has been her best friend that long too before they added in Brooke Adams to the mix. Alison is the type of person who can’t make up her mind when it comes to dating or to people she likes. Alison Mitchel has a lot of secrets, but the biggest would have to be when she slept with her best friend’s then boyfriend. It’s like one of the unwritten rules in the book, but Alison still did it. What? She was drunk and it meant nothing, but did it really? Is Alison Mitchel hiding something? So far, the only ones who know about that night is her and him, but what they don’t know is that somehow Brooke found out and in return told Audrey everything. This caused a rift in Brooke, Audrey and her relationship. Now, that Wyatt is on the market, she has to decide whether or not it was just a drunken one night stand or something more.
X THESE ARE MY FRIENDS & THESE ARE OUR STORIES
✘ BROOKE ADAMS: Alison Mitchel & Brooke Adams first met during their middle school years. The two are practically inseparable. Alison is not aware that both Brooke and Audrey know that she had sex with Wyatt. ✘ AARON ANDERSON: Alison Mitchel & Aaron Anderson first met during elementary school. Her craziness for cheer-leading matches his craziness for football. He considers her the happy vitamin of the group. ✘ ASHLEE BOURNE: These two do not get along. ✘ AUDREY GANNER: Alison Mitchel & Audrey Ganner first met during their elementary school days. As soon as the two met, they clicked. Audrey considers Alison her platonic soulmate and Alison considers Audrey as hers as well. Alison doesn’t know that Audrey knows that she slept with Wyatt. ✘ WYATT REED: Alison Mitchel & Wyatt Reed met during their elementary school days. The two had a one-night stand sometime last year while he and Audrey were technically on a break. He has no idea that this is the reason why Audrey broke up with. He planned on never letting anyone else ever find out about the night. ✘ ROSEANNA STEVENSON: Alison Mitchel & Roseanna Stevenson are the definition of FRENEMIES. ✘ TYLER SMITH: Alison Mitchel & Tyler Reed first met during elementary school. Alison is definitely the person he’s closest to out of the girls of their group. Tyler is definitely the person he’s closest to out of the boys of their group. ✘ KYLIE SUMMERS: Friend. ✘ BRAYDEN WESTERLY: Brayden Westerly and Alison Mitchel first met during their middle school years. The two are close friends. If they both had to pick someone that they’re not as close to, they’d pick each other. ✘ JULIA WOODS: Her current roommate.
