Ulysses threw a giant net, attempting to capture the young woman, "you're coming with me. Nothing personal."

"What the fuck is wrong with you?!" she spat, jumping to the side to avoid the net but unable to free herself from it as she found herself squirming and writhing under it like a fish.

A net?! Aya had heard a lot of things, but how someone came up with the idea of trapping other people with a net completely escaped her knowledge.

Craziest that I’ve been part of in terms of “oh shit that actually just happened we did that emotional shit-“? Probably still the “My Perseus” interaction on Fable.

Craziest in terms of “what the fuck just happened?” Whatever the fuck just went down on WWSMP with the wall and the pit, honestly- Or the Cantripped “Hey I’m Dan” interaction in Episode 14

Craziest that I’ve witnessed other people doing? Honestly a tough call that I can’t think of an answer for, all my mutuals are super talented and I’m floored by their performances every time

[Ulysses S.] Grant was a neat smoker. Despite his careless dress, no remnants of cigar ash soiled his uniform though he smoked almost constantly. Onlookers found that rather than appearing stimulated by tobacco, he puffed a Havana with "the listless, absorbed and satisfied air of an opium smoker." Smoking calmed him, which accounts for his using cigars at a faster rate during action than otherwise. He smoked during his meeting with [Confederate General John C.] Pemberton, and again when he rode into captured Vicksburg, leading one Confederate editor to declare that "a little stage effect is admirable in great captains."

Grant leaned slightly forward when he walked, and with a quick step if on business. When not immediately occupied, his sharp blue eyes still surveyed his surroundings constantly. There was even less affectation in his dress than in [Robert E.] Lee's, just a round brimmed hat and a simple private's blouse with his insignia of rank on the shoulders. One observer thought he made a "far less pretentious appearance than many a second lieutenant." If anything, some suspected that his dress was intentionally "a trifle, perhaps, negligée, as a man of his celebrity can very well afford that it should be." Dark brown hair, with now a few slivers of gray showing, crowned a brow that even admirers thought suggested "no unusual apparent capacity." He spoke in clipped sentences using words economically, and those to the point and without flourish, leading a New York correspondent to remark that "Gen. Grant has the substantial without the showy."

i do think it reveals a lot about john gaius that he named U— and T— after literary characters (or at least that their names have literary bases, even if he claims that ulysses was named after his grandma’s cat). and i think that the instinctual interpretation is that titania was inspired by a midsummer night's dream and ulysses was pulled from the latinised version of odysseus, or maybe the james joyce novel. but there is ALSO a ulysses in shakespeare, in troilus and cressida. and there is something (a) very satisfying about both of their names coming from shakespeare and (b) very funny that john named his ex-corpse friend after one of shakespeare's most notorious yappers

Do I think c!Ven and Ulysses would be a good couple? No.

Do I think they have or would probably sleep together? Yes. That’s my personal headcanon.

Like,,, I dunno I think it’s a one night stand kinda thing. Ven comes over for more alcohol, they sit and talk for a while, they get vulnerable about missing their partners and about how Rae’s hogging all the boyfriends or whatever. They’re lonely and stressed and alone. Hands slip onto thighs, lips meet tasting of vodka and wine, such and such and such.

They know it’s not a thing but sometimes they just need that human comfort, ya know?

I find it too funny how whenever it comes down to me doing a full on cosplay (instead of chest and up for filming) I just completely blank out and throw on the same pirate pants and combat boots and call it a day. Canonical accuracy goes out the window, do you want army green or black pants? Black or white boots?
