I’m gonna talk about changing accents on Bound SMP real quick cause I think they’re neat

Firstly, I love how the longer Virgil spends away from Pietro the more their accent looses it’s “vaguely European”-ness and adopts a much more distinctive British sound (especially as he’s spending so much time with Rune and Ava rn). It’s just such a wonderful way of showing how the brothers are so out of sync right now. They don’t even speak in the same way anymore.

Secondly, Vast’s mimicry coming back to her. I know the first time it happened was on accident (oopsies I maybe southerned a bit too close to the sun there lol), but the fact that Heyhay took it and ran is wonderful. And honestly, the timing couldn’t be any better. It’s like, just as soon as Vast starts to realize that they don’t have to be a monster, that people will still love him for who she is in spite of all they’ve done, as soon as they start to feel safe (even if they are waiting for the other shoe to drop), a bit of their mask falls off. It makes me think about who Vast could’ve been outside of the Avicane, if he’d been given the chance to be something other than a soldier…

Hey guys,

I’m gonna hop on here and be a little real for a sec to talk about the beauty of non-canon shipping in fandoms cause I feel like some of that may be getting lost in the excitement of all these new potential pairings in Bound. So, buckle in.

Alright, so, non-canon shipping is just that; non-canon. It means that you see two characters that have good chemistry and decide they are going to be a pairing. Like Batman and Superman, for example. Nothing in canon says that they’re a couple, but so many people think they would make a good one and thus, they are a very popular non-canon ship. The fandom, as much as they may want to, cannot force the writers to make them canon, and that’s where the real beauty is.

So much of fandom culture is taking what other artistic people present and riffing off of it, making it your own. Non-canon ships are NOT about trying to pressure creators into making ships canon, but rather about bringing together other creatives who agree about the dynamics you see and encouraging each other in your perception of the couple.

So, I apologize if any of my campaigning distorted that for you all. But I wanted to say this in order to clearly state what the goal of this campaign is, which is NOT to force Connor and Puffin to make Virwood canon. It is rather, to make Virwood the most popular non-canon ship in the fandom. So, if you support that agenda, please continue to send virwood proofs my way. Otherwise, please do not associate yourself with this account. Thank you!

Friends, fellow Bound lovers, I have so many feelings.

We finally got to hear a bit of Gio and I... I just sobbed through that entire exchanged. Gio had been a part of the Avicane, we don't know for how long, but we know that it couldn't have been good. Yet still Gio is so gentle with baby Virgil. They coax him so softly and they speak with such wisdom and knowledge and such worry for both of the birdies in their care.

They don't excuse Pietro's behaviour, they explain it. They don't say that brothers just forgive and forget, they say that brothers explain and work on it and that one needs to think about where the other person is coming from.

Then the brothers talk and I just crack. They don't want anything else, but to keep the other safe. And I think that's what it all comes down to, safety.

The brothers want to be safe to never lose another member of their family. Virgil never wants to feel the need to touch a switchblade. Pietro wants to be safe for Virgil, to never hurt him anymore, like they have in the past.

I just, I'm just going to go cry about the bird brothers now.

i am assuming this is about virwood and listen, i appreciate the enthusiasm and after the lore that just happened i can see the potential

however

both connor and puffin have stated that their characters are aro-ace-spectrum and whilst yes, aroace people can have romantic and sexual relationships that doesn't mean all of them do so personally at least i am going to wait until we see some more of them both and maybe have more of their aro-ace identity shown even in canon, before i'll personally write something nsfw for these characters

ace and aro erasure is still prevalant in fandoms, i've seen it with the tma fandom, i've seen it from afar in the hazbin fandom, and many others, and far be it from me to contribute to that even by accident. so i'll wait until either connor and puffin give specific labels to their characters' identities or until there has been more lore to guess from how these characters might stand to topics of romance or sex

this is by no means a call out or anything, i've just had a lot of asks in my inbox about virwood so i figured i'd set up that boundary of sorts and say how i stand on this until we have more canon to go off of

2. the way these two interact is healing my little brain arararara

Specifically- there's a line Pietro said, and the line in itself made me grimace. But Jamie added another tiny sentence after that cured that. That made this conversation not an excuse, but an explanation.

That line was roughly "I did all of to keep you safe". This line means so much to me because it's been used on me. I won't go into details of course but this set of words and whatever variation it comes in is often an excuse for whatever the speaker has done to the one hearing the words.

But here's one highly important note;

the next thing Pietro says is "And I know that doesn't make it okay."

And I don't think I can adequately put into words how much that means to me. How much that simple sentence attests to the fact that Pietro truly means to change. How sorry she is. How he'll try his best to not keep secrets, to share that burden with their brother.

Something increasingly special about so many characters that this general cast and those they are on other servers with is the persistence of bringing up topics that strike me directly in the heart. But the cast deals with them. They do not shy away from the hard topics, because those need to be talked about. From Vast with their background in the Avicane (and the struggle to say "No"), to Theo with his dysphoria, to Sylph with their shame, and Gaverin with her family background. I can go on and on and on.

And that is one of the reasons that not really the medium, but the stories created in it mean so much to me. Because within it stories are told by people who have been hurt. People who are healing. People who have scars, and struggles, and troubles, but overall, care and passion for the stories they create.

That passion and care is so much more abundant in these stories than in so much of the modern media I see. And I love it.

Due to some unfortunate technical difficulties I am sad to say that there will likely not be any WWSMP content from me for a little while :((

I’ve had a lot of issues editing the C.W POVs and at the stage I don’t know when/if I’ll be able to salvage the files.

There will also be a delay on the last handful of Virgil POVs for Skybound SMP, as I’m entering my finals period in university, and will be preoccupied for the next few weeks.

As some of you may know, @hoardingpuffin and @connorsnothereeither both have two nerdy bird characters on this beloved server called “Bound SMP”. They recently had their first canon interaction (as seen on Puffin’s YouTube channel). We hosted a watch party for said lore on my twitch earlier today, and my goodness it was so very gay.

After further consultations, calculations, and consideration, I have been able to amass a group of Bound enjoyers who agree with this agenda. And now we (I) am coming to tumblr to seek your help.
