Thoughts on s3 ep11!
Fucking hell you guys,, this episode,,
I have too many thoughts so I'm going to hit the main ones so I'm not bent over my laptop crying as I type this up for like ten minutes,,
just know that the entire episode had me like this though
Tumblr media
ok, screaming and spoilers under the cut-
Why does the Batch have THE worst luck in the world huh?? Hunter decides to go live on Pabu, Empire comes and snatches up Omega. Hunter decides (rightfully so) to leave Pabu to not jeopardize the people there. The Empire comes and fucks up everything AND Omega gets taken away AGAIN.
I just want something GOOD to go well for them for ONCE. Is that too much to ask for??
Also Clone X being able to do what he did because both Phee and Wrecker were arguing with droids??
Omega putting Tech's glasses and Lula in the museum made me burst out into tears. For some reason that made me think that Tech really is dead (as much as I don't want to believe it). I think it was a beautiful send off (even if everything went to shit right after) and after that touching send off I kinda want Tech to stay dead, as bad as it hurts
Them showing us shots of Pabu and all the residents (with the clone cadets and Shep and Lyana) all happy and living their best life before the storm was so fucked up
Hunter why are your senses so out of wack huh?? And how come no matter what your hair stays dry?? Fucked up world we live in.
Ok but if Tech IS alive and IS Clone X,, this episode is so much fucking worse and angsty if that's the case,, having him come back and do all of that to Pabu?? Oh my god,, I hate it so much
Hunter taking down those stormtroopers was hot as fuck though
OMEGA SACRIFICING HERSELF FOR PABU??? FUCK OFF SHE IS A CHILD DON'T MAKE HER GO THROUGH THIS SHIT!!
Cannot tell you how much distress I was in during the second half of the episode,, oh my god,,,
The PAIN on Crosshair's face and in his voice when Omega brought up the idea of turning herself in?? That's going to haunt me forever man,, just,, fucking,, ouch
Oh man,, I was so worried that he wouldn't be able to get the tracker on the ship because of his hand tremors but no it was because of the FUCKING stormtroopers
The absolute devastation Crosshair must've felt in that moment,, I've never seen so much pain on a helmeted character's face oh my god
THINGS ARE JUST GETTING SO MUCH WORSE FUCKING HELL!!
how do you think Wrecker and Hunter are going to react to this huh??? they're going to be fucking LIVID oh my god and Crosshair is probably going to blame himself and they're (Hunter more so) is going to blame Crosshair and then we'll be back to square one fucking AUUGHHH
IF ECHO WAS HERE NONE OF THIS WOULD'VE HAPPENED

hi so I really love the way you write tech and was wondering if you could write some light angst and fluff with him and female reader for your 4,500 followers (congrats!) I was thinking maybe reader is really missing home and has a small radio type thing that she uses to contact them but one day it breaks. she asks tech to fix it but doesn’t really care too as he’s busy which silently upsets her more. maybe Hunter prompts him too since tech actually has a crush on her… or whatever you think flows best 🤭 but please can I have it so reader kisses him as a thanks? Thanks if you do this! Have a wonderful day 💚
possible prompt if you want to:
17: “I’m always blown away by just how talented you are.”
Thanks okay bye! 😊
Touch of Gold 🌊
🫧 Pairings: Tech X Female!Reader
word count: 1.4k
prompts:
• “I’m always blown away by just how talented you are.”
Tumblr media
As the request asks 😌
warnings: Safe for work, fluff, light angst with reader missing home, mutual pining, friends to lovers, Hunter being supportive and a bro, first kiss, tech not reading emotions too well, accidental kiss
authors note: happy tech Tuesday! Enjoy @powertechmove 🩵
Tumblr media
The steady hum of the ship’s engines was a familiar sound, one you’d grown accustomed to over countless missions with the squad. But today, it only seemed to amplify the hollow ache inside you. Sitting alone on your bunk, you clutched the small, battered radio in your hands—the last tangible connection to your family, to home. When it had stopped working days ago, it felt as though your whole world had shattered.
You’d tried everything you could think of to fix it, but your skills were no match for the intricate workings of the device. But there was someone who you think could help.
Tech, with his quick mind and adept hands, could likely repair it in an instant. He could fix almost anything, and that was one of the many things you admire about him. And admittedly also one of the many reasons you found him attractive, too.
But even knowing that, you hesitated to approach him. He was always busy, always absorbed in his work and the upkeep of the Marauder. You didn’t want to burden him with something that, in the grand scheme of things, might seem trivial.
Yet, as the days dragged on and the weight of homesickness pressed down harder, you could no longer bear it. Summoning your courage, you found him in the cockpit, tinkering with some equipment. His brow was furrowed in concentration as he adjusted his goggles, completely absorbed in his task. Even in deep concentration he looked so cute. Pushing the thoughts away, you approached
“Tech,” you began softly, not wanting to interrupt too abruptly.
He looked up immediately at the sound of your voice, his gaze sharp and attentive. “Yes? How can I assist you?”
You hesitated, holding out the broken radio. “My radio… it stopped working. I’ve tried to fix it, but I think it’s beyond me. Could you… maybe take a look?”
Tech took the device, his fingers gliding over its worn edges as he examined it. After a few moments, he sighed and shook his head slightly. “The internal components are severely outdated and damaged. Without the proper parts, I don’t believe I can restore it to working order.”
His words hit you like a punch to the gut, extinguishing the small flicker of hope you’d been clinging to. You tried to mask your disappointment, but your shoulders slumped involuntarily.
“I see,” you murmured, forcing a weak smile. “Thanks for looking, anyway.”
Tech nodded, already turning back to his project. “I need to return to more pressing matters.”
You bit your tongue, trying not to take his words too personally. He likely didn’t mean to sound so… dismissive. But as you walked away, the sense of isolation grew heavier. Without that radio, the distance between you and your loved ones felt even more insurmountable.
On your way out, you passed Hunter, who immediately noticed the change in your demeanor. He’d sensed your growing homesickness for the last few days. Naturally, he wanted to help. He wasn’t going to bring it up to you, but he had seen the way you looked at Tech thinking nobody was looking, how you lingered just a tad around him. He wasn’t going to do it just for your sake, however, but for Tech’s as well.
He made his way to the cockpit, where Tech was still engrossed in his work. “Tech, got a minute?” Hunter asked, his voice casual but with an underlying seriousness.
Tech glanced up, his focus shifting to the Sergeant. “What do you need?”
Hunter leaned against the doorway, crossing his arms. “I want to talk about her,” he said, nodding in the direction you’d gone. He watched as Tech’s expression remained neutral, though he caught a slight tension in his posture. “Is she alright?”
“She seems well enough,” Tech replied, pushing up his goggles slightly. “Though her radio is broken.”
“And?” Hunter prompted.
“Unfortunately, it’s beyond repair without the necessary components, which I don’t have on hand.”
Hunter nodded slowly. “I get that it’s not an easy fix. But she’s been down lately, and that radio was her connection to home. Fixing it would mean more to her than you might realise we.”
Tech paused, considering Hunter’s words. “I understand the emotional significance, but I must reiterate that the repair is not simple. Besides, I’m occupied with other tasks.”
Hunter studied Tech for a moment longer, knowing how his mind worked—analytical, logical, always focused on efficiency. But Hunter also knew something else, something Tech might not fully grasp about himself. “Look, Tech, I’ve seen how you look at her. You care about her, even if you don’t always show it.”
Tech’s eyes widened slightly, and he straightened, clearly taken aback. “I assure you, my concern is purely professional—”
“Sure,” Hunter interrupted, his tone gentle but firm. “But maybe this is your chance to show her you’re there for her. You might not be able to say it outright, but fixing that radio would mean the world to her. And it might just help you both cross that bridge.”
Tech fell silent, processing Hunter’s words. The idea of showing his care through action, rather than words, resonated with him. After all, he’d always been more comfortable expressing himself through his skills than through direct emotional communication.
“I understand,” Tech finally said, his voice thoughtful. “I’ll… reconsider the matter.”
Hunter nodded, satisfied. “That’s all I’m asking.”
Tumblr media
The next day, Tech found you outside the ship, sitting on a crate and staring up at the stars. The vastness of space had always reminded you of how far you were from home, and today was no different. You were so lost in thought that you didn’t notice Tech until he was right beside you.
He called your name softly, causing you to startle. You quickly wiped at your eyes, hoping to hide the tears that had welled up.
“Oh, Tech,” you stammered, trying to compose yourself. “I didn’t hear you.”
Without a word, he held out the small radio, and your breath caught in your throat. “I managed to repair your radio,” he said, his voice calm and steady. “I was able to source the necessary components from some older equipment we had in storage.”
You stared at the radio, hardly believing it. “You… you fixed it?”
“Yes,” Tech confirmed, his gaze holding yours as he noticed the tear stains on your cheeks. “It should function properly now.”
Tears pricked at your eyes again, but this time from gratitude rather than sadness. You took the radio from him, your fingers brushing against his as you did. “Thank you, Tech. I don’t even know what to say. I’m always blown away by just how talented you are.”
A faint warmth danced across Tech’s cheeks, though his expression remained composed. “It was the least I could do,” he replied, his voice a bit softer than usual.
“I don’t know how to thank you.”
“There’s no need. The repair was quite fascinating, actually…” he began to explain, launching into the technical details of the repair. But you could only watch him, a sense of awe and affection growing as you listened.
Overwhelmed by emotion, you leaned in to kiss his cheek, wanting to show him just how much this meant to you. But as you did, Tech, likely calculating the movement or perhaps just reacting instinctively, turned slightly into you, and your lips ended up brushing against his.
Both of you froze, eyes wide in surprise. Tech blinked, clearly trying to process what had just happened. But before he could say anything, you quickly pulled back.
“I’m sorry,” he began, his tone hurried. “That wasn’t my intent—”
But you silenced him by gently placing your hand on his cheek, guiding him back toward you. No words were needed, and you leaned in, kissing him again, this time with intent and certainty.
The kiss was soft and tentative at first, as if both of you were testing the waters. But then, as if some unseen barrier had finally been crossed, it deepened, filled with the unspoken feelings that had been simmering beneath the surface for so long. His hands rest nervously on your hips, suppressing a quiet moan in his throat as you tilt your head just a touch, your lips dancing together beautifully.
When you finally parted, both of you were a little breathless, a little flustered. Tech’s usually composed demeanor was slightly shaken, his eyes searching yours as if trying to find the right words.
“You don’t need to apologise,” you whispered, a soft smile playing on your lips. “I’m glad it happened.”
Tech’s expression softened, and for once, he didn’t overthink. He simply nodded, understanding what you meant without needing to analyse it. “So am I.”

Bad batch finale spoilers
My thoughts
HUNTER DIDNT DIE 😭😭😭I CRIED SO MUCH THO
But that motherfucking awful bitch Hemlock dying made my year
OMEGA ALL GROWN UP??? Shut the fuck up. AND TECHS GOGGLES ON HER SHIP? BE QUIET IM DYING.
Hunter with that salt n pepper look just made me want him more #zaddy
“clone force 99 died with Tech” — okay so basically you want me to kill myself? wow
Was lowkey still delusional till the very last second that clone x was Tech but you know what it’s actually better this way bc tech didn’t have to get tortured. I still miss him more than anything in the world
I fully thought wrecker was gonna die bro I was mentally preparing myself
“You’re our kid. Always will be.” Yes she will. But And so what happens if Omega dies fighting in the rebellion or what if old ass Hunter crosshair and wrecker have to go and help her, what then? WHAT THEN, DAVE???!
I still can’t believe tech is dead I’ve been telling myself he’s alive the entire season but now I just have to grieve. I don’t want to. Thank god none of the others died otherwise I’d have to grieve multiple at once bc I’m still not over tech
but like REALLY? TECHS DEAD ARE YOU SURE?????😭😭😭😭 ARE YOU ABSOLUTELY SURE???
Echo had so many mommy moments it made me very happy. Emerie asking him how he knew it was echo who let the zillo beast loose…”It’s what I would’ve done” HE IS HER MOMMY.
I’m ngl I’m surprised they all made it out
When they cut off crosshairs hand I was both devastated and also relieved for him bc he doesn’t have to deal with the shaking anymore, but also I think screamed
I think we rly need to push the concept that mom and dad don’t need to be in love, like yes Hunter is dad and Echo is mom, yes they are brothers, no it does not mean they aren’t mommy and daddy because THEY ARE
Crosshair is the really cool uncle who also lives with them
Wrecker is the fun older brother
Tech is, well, dust
JK. Tech is honestly the annoying younger sibling that you say is annoying but you actually love more than anything oh and also he’s always right
And Omega is just Baby
Hemlock is like, the creepy uncle who married into the family but isn’t allowed to any family events…plus he’s also dust now too
I wish Phee was in the finale lowkey. Missed her
I could talk more but I need to process first.
Anyways bye love you gonna cry some more now

Thoughts on TBB 3x15
Here we go... one last time
SPOILERS BELOW THE CUT
Honestly thought I was going to be late to the episode but I actually work up at 8:01 am today so I am just a couple mins behind everyone else.
Am I prepared? Absolutely not.
Well that's an ominous noise. Always a good way to start 😰
The Kiner soundtrack is popping off as usual
I just need Hemlock to die
Indispensable? I'm not sure about that, mate. A lot of people have realised the Empire don't need them and I'm fairly certain you are on the list of people who can be ditched
Hahahahahaha the way the droid just starts looming behind her is kinda hilarious
OMEGA'S THEME 😭
Wrecker, bud, be careful...
Look at Omega sneaking around. She's so grown up! 🥲
ZILLOBEAST TIME
"Because that's exactly what I'd do" He's such a proud mum
THE WAY THE TROOPERS COME FLYING OUT OF THE FOG
"Clone Force 99 died with Tech`' well there goes my heart. I think this also explains why we haven't really heard the Batch theme since season 2. That theme was for CF 99 and if that doesn't truly exist anymore...
"It's what I deserve" CROSSHAIR DON'T DO THIS TO ME
"Echo's handiwork or Omega's?" "Omega's." I'M DYING
Omega's theme in this soundtrack is just 🤌
Oh great. We have a whole group of Clone Xs to contend with.
I just need all of the Batch together so that we can get the theme. I know I said earlier that we probably never got it because of a lack of Tech but I still stand by the fact that we deserve to hear it one last time.
These CX soldiers almost feel like a parallel to the Batch. One slightly larger, more hand-to-hand combat oriented soldier, one who fights with blades, a sniper, ONE WHO IS VERY TECH SAVVY 👀
WRECKER AAAAAAHHHH THIS IS NOT GOOD
NOT THE HAND
WTF?!
HELP
NO
THIS IS NOT GOOD 😰
Fuuuuuccckkk Echo's seen them down
"Causing chaos, Havoc 5?" HE'S STILL MAKING QUIPS IN THIS SITUATION I LOVE HIM
"Hey, kid. And... other kids." PLEASE 😭
"We'll meet you there" YOU BETTER DO
Echo and Omega teaming up is everything I ever needed ❤️‍🩹
Hemlock needs to die a slow, painful death
ECHO'S SPEECH FEELS LIKE THE SPEECH HE AND FIVES GAVE DURING THE ATTCK ON KAMINO I FEEL SICK
Rampart looking sus...
This feels like this isn't going as terribly as it could be and that scares me
Aw ☹️ bye, Nala Se. I never really loved you but it's sad to see you go
HAHAHAHAHA FUCK YOU, RAMPART
AAAAAAAHHHH ECHO GOT STABBED
You know what I said 2 seconds ago about it not being terrible? I think I spoke too soon...
YES WRECKER
I'm not liking the position Echo is stuck in rn. That stresses me out 😥
We're not exactly in top form but hey, an attempt is being made
ECHO BE CAREFUL
Soooo... I get the feeling CX-2 isn't Tech...
AW NO SCORCH
FUCK YES!!! Bye Hemlock 👋
THE LOOK ON CROSSHAIR'S FACE WHEN SHE HUGS HIM AAAAAHHHH
Tarkin is not going to be a happy bunny
Oop we got a Project Stardust mention
THE SHOW ENDING WITH THEM ON PABU??? LIKE AN ACTUAL SOMEWHAT HAPPY ENDING???
I'm crying
Actually sobbing
That shot of them all sat by the tree 😭😭😭
A FUCKING EPILOGUE KMN
I can't breath
SHE REMINDS ME OF PHEE AAAAHHH
GONKY!!! 🥹
OLD HUNTER?!
Omega is joining the Rebellion? 🥺
Crosshair, Hunter and Wrecker all got to live to an old age in relative peace I'm in so many tears rn
Okay but if Echo isn't with the others at this point then where is he??? PLEASE TELL ME HE'S STILL AROUND
TECH'S GOGGLES?!
I'm not okay on any level
Okay, so overall, I'm relatively satisfied with the ending. I also cried about as much as I would have done if they all died so my emotions are still all over the place. Do I think every question we had came to a satisfying conclusion? Not quite. But I think we tied up enough loose ends for me to be content.
And I'm happy they got a somewhat happy ending. Knowing that they get to live a life in relative peace makes me happy, and we know that Hunter, Wrecker and Crosshair at least make it another few years. Omega joining the Rebellion also seems apt. As an Echo girly I unfortunately don't feel quite as secure with where we left off. I don't have the same level of closure that I do with the others because we know that around this point in time, he isn't with Rex. But he also isn't with the Batch either. I hope we get to see more of him in future projects because I don't quite feel satisfied with this being the end of his story. He's doing too much for it to stop there.
Also... we were wrong about Tech. The level of delusion we carried throughout this season, my god. 😭 But it means I'm confused by some of their choices. The way they focused on being savvy with technology, the way he moves being similar to Tech, FUCKING DOMICILE??? Like, they have to have known that we would all go that way with our theories so why??? If it wasn't him they why was he written the way he was? I refuse to believe everything we thought was purely out of delusion. Does this mean I have issues with the way Tech's story ended? Yes. But overall I think the show wrapped up fairly well.
I'll try and drop some more thoughts later down the line once I've pulled myself together a bit, but for now I can say that I am content. Completely satisfied? Not really, but definitely content.

Thank you for all the likes and comments on my previous posts. I really appreciate them ❤️
Here’s another fluffy Bad Batch one-shot in an AU where everyone is happy and alive and living on Pabu - just the way I like it!
Also, Phee and Tech have a little surprise :)
Summary: Hunter is confused by the many changes Omega is going through. He needs advice, and Phee is just the person to give it.
Title: Changes
Word count: 2,415
***
Omega was acting strange.
Hunter couldn’t figure it out. One morning she was her usual chipper self, off to school after kissing him good-bye.
The next she was spending hours in the ‘fresher and trying out new hair styles and fretting over her appearance. She even asked him once if he thought she looked pretty. Of course, his opinion didn’t seem to matter because he was her father and he was probably just saying nice things because.
Hunter decided he was terribly inexperienced when it came to adolescent girls. He knew she was going through many changes right now, but he didn’t quite understand what those changes were. Perhaps if he had some advice, he’d be better equipped to handle this new phase in his daughter’s life.
So he decided to pay his sister-in-law a visit. Phee was a woman. She would know what to do, and Hunter would appreciate any help she could give him.
The next morning, after Omega left for school, he set out and walked down to Tech and Phee’s house. The morning air was humid. It was going to be another hot one, but that was no surprise. It was always hot on Pabu. Luckily, there was a perpetual breeze that blew, offering respite and comfort.
When Hunter arrived at his destination, he knocked on the door.
“Door’s open,” Phee called.
Hunter went inside and almost tripped over a toy bantha. Phee and Tech’s twelve-month-old son toddled up to him and tugged on his pants. His full name was Hunter Racer Genoa, but everyone just called him Racer to cut the confusion. Racer had been Tech’s choice for a name.
Racer smiled up at Hunter, revealing a dimple. Hunter smiled back. He and his nephew were best friends.
“How’s my ad’ika?” Hunter asked as he lifted the baby into his arms.
“Determined not to wear his glasses,” Phee answered, coming into the room. She put a pair of goggles on Racer that were nearly identical to his father’s. Racer refused to wear them otherwise. He was having a hard time adjusting, the poor lad.
“So what can I do for you, sergeant?” Phee asked Hunter.
Hunter set Racer down and he toddled away. “I need advice.”
Phee invited him to come sit down. Hunter claimed the sofa. He watched distractedly as Racer lined up all his building blocks in a neat row, smiling because the child reminded him so much of Tech. He was deliberate and thoughtful in his actions.
“It’s Omega,” Hunter said finally, looking up. “She’s been acting . . . strange.”
“Strange,” Phee repeated. “Define that.”
“Just strange. She spends a long time in the ‘fresher fretting over her appearance. She thinks she isn’t beautiful enough, though I tell her otherwise. She snapped at me the other day just because I asked her what was wrong. Honestly, I’m at a complete loss, Phee. I don’t know what to do.”
Phee’s gaze softened. “Hunter, Omega is growing up. It’s perfectly obvious what’s going on.”
Hunter snorted. “You sound like Tech. When he thinks something is obvious, it’s usually not.”
“Omega’s behavior is obvious to me because I was her age once, too.” Phee grinned. “There’s a boy she’s sweet on.”
Hunter stared at her in surprise. “A boy?” he repeated. The idea appalled him. Omega was supposed to be his little girl and now there was a boy in her life? He didn’t quite know how to respond to that.
“Yes. Don’t look so shocked. It was bound to happen sooner or later.”
“But . . .”
Tech walked through the door that very moment. He didn’t seem to realize Hunter was there, because he sauntered right over to his wife and leaned down to give her a kiss on the lips.
“I missed you, love,” he declared.
“It’s been ten minutes,” Phee pointed out.
“All the same. Ten minutes is akin to one hundred planetary rotations when I am apart from you.”
Hunter wanted to laugh. His brother had turned into such a romantic.
Phee cleared her throat. “Baby, Hunter is here.”
“Oh.”
Tech sounded so disappointed. Hunter bit the inside of his cheek to keep his amusement from showing.
“I came for advice,” he explained. “It’s about Omega.”
“Ah. I take it you were unprepared for the turbulent moments that accompany adolescence.”
“Well, no. I guess I just assumed she’d always be my little girl. You don’t understand because your kid is still a baby. He hasn’t even said his first word yet.”
Everyone glanced over at Racer, who was carefully building a tower out of blocks.
“I’d hardly call him a baby,” Tech said, adjusting his goggles. “He’s remarkably precocious.”
Racer placed another block on his growing tower. But that was one block too many. The tower tilted to the side and collapsed, scattering the blocks around him.
“Kriff,” he said.
Phee sucked in a breath.
Tech’s face lit up in a smile. “I believe that is his first word,” he said proudly.
“Who taught him that,” Phee demanded, sounding upset.
“Don’t look at me,” Hunter said defensively, when she glanced sharply in his direction. “I don’t curse around the children.”
“Neither do I,” Tech seconded.
Phee glared at him. “Well, somebody taught him that.”
The front door slid opened and Crosshair entered the house. He tripped over the scattered blocks.
“Kriff,” he cursed.
Tech pointed. “There is your culprit, love.”
Racer, upon seeing his favorite uncle, squealed in delight and ran to Crosshair. Crosshair lifted the baby up into his arms and smiled broadly. Racer was the only one who could draw it out.
“You put my baby down!” Phee ordered.
Crosshair looked confused. “What?”
“You’re a bad influence on him.”
“Kriff,” Racer said again.
Hunter thought Phee was going to murder Crosshair right then and there. Tech just stood there with his arms crossed, looking amused by the whole situation.
Phee planted her hands on her hips. “I don’t want you using that language around him, you hear?”
“Well, I certainly didn’t teach him that word,” Crosshair said defensively.
“That narrows down the list quite a bit,” Tech remarked dryly.
“He heard it from someone,” Phee said. “I intend to find out who.”
Hunter tuned them out for a moment, drawn back to his own troubles.
Omega liked a boy. That didn’t sit very well with him. She was still young and innocent, and he just couldn’t stand the thought of her growing up so fast. She might prefer that boy over him. She might not want to spend time with him anymore.
Suddenly, he felt utterly despondent.
“What’s with him?” Crosshair asked.
“I don’t want to talk about it,” Hunter said sulkily.
His keen sense of smell caught the faint whiff of burning food. He glanced over at Phee, who was fussing over Racer and telling him he shouldn’t curse, and Racer just stared up at her in adoration, looking cute enough to melt even the toughest heart.
“Uh, Phee,” Hunter said. “Are you cooking anything?”
Phee gasped. “Kriff!” She leapt up, shoved Racer into Tech’s arms, and ran into the kitchen.
Crosshair folded his arms over his chest and snorted. “And she wants to blame me for teaching the kid how to curse.”
A moment later, Phee appeared in the doorway, looking sheepish. “I owe all of you an apology,” she said.
Hunter rose to his feet. “Don’t worry about it, Phee. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got to get going.”
“Where?” Crosshair asked.
“Anywhere. I need to think.”
“Good luck,” Phee said.
Hunter saluted. “Thanks.”
He left Phee and Tech’s house and simply started walking with no particular destination in mind. He just needed to sort his thoughts and make sense of everything going on with Omega.
He was well aware that she wasn’t going to need him forever. She was getting older, and was now wanting to be more independent. He just wished they’d had more time together. He liked being there for her, guiding her when she needed guidance, or simply lending an ear when she wanted to talk. In short, he enjoyed being a father.
Hunter felt no worse or no better by the time he got home later. He’d spent a good portion of time just walking. He was surprised to find that several hours had passed, and he hadn’t even been aware except for the changes in the sun.
Wrecker was sitting at the table in the dining nook, diligently oiling his gun. He liked to keep everything in working order, just in case Phee needed them for a job, which was sporadic at best.
“Where’ve you been?” Wrecker asked.
“Walking,” Hunter answered.
“Thinking about Omega, huh?”
“Yeah. She grew up on me. I don’t know how I feel about that. Phee thinks there’s a young lad in her life.”
Wrecker shrugged. “You mean Rohne.”
Hunter frowned. “You . . . know about that?” He felt bitter suddenly, knowing Omega told Wrecker everything but not him. What was he, chopped liver?
“Nice kid. He likes to go fishing.”
“Huh. I didn’t even know there was a boy until now.”
“I thought it was obvious,” Wrecker said, using Tech’s favorite expression.
Hunter scowled. “Very funny,” he said.
The front door slid open and he looked, expecting to see Omega and what’s-his-face. He planned on employing a healthy dose of intimidation to let the kid know he better watch himself, or there was going to be trouble.
But it was just Crosshair. Racer was in his arms, asleep with his head on Crosshair’s shoulder.
“The lovebirds wanted to be alone,” he said. “I offered to watch the kid.”
“That was thoughtful of you.”
“I know.”
Hunter regarded him. “Do you know about Rohne, too?”
Crosshair smirked. “The tall kid with the long hair? Sure I know him. Wanted to know all about my position as the squad’s marksman. I even let him see my kit.”
Hunter was beginning to feel real low right about now. So everyone knew who this Rohne kid was except for him. He didn’t like being left out like this. If his daughter was running around with a boy, he had a right to know. He had a right to meet this kid, see what kind of character he was.
“What’s with him?” Crosshair asked Wrecker.
“Oh, he’s just sore ‘cause he’s the last to know about Rohne,” Wrecker answered.
Hunter didn’t bother to respond. He sank down in a chair and heaved a heavy sigh. Just to keep his hands busy, he un-sheathed his knife and fiddled with it.
“What’s your reading on this Rohne?” he asked his two brothers.
“He’s a good lad,” Wrecker answered. “Says please and thank you. Very polite. Likes fishing.”
“You said that already. I want to know about his morals. Can he be trusted?”
“If you’re worried about this kid, don’t be,” Crosshair said. “He’s aware of what will happen to him if he puts even a single toe out of line. I made sure of it.”
Well, at least that was comforting. But that was supposed to be Hunter’s job. He was supposed to be the one to let the kid know nothing good would come to him if he hurt Omega in any way.
He didn’t despair, though. He was going to make sure he got to meet this kid. He was going to ask Omega to invite him over to dinner, then he’d see for himself if this Rohne was good enough for his daughter.
His senses prickled. He looked up at the door, knowing Omega was approaching. He sat up straighter.
The door slid open and Omega entered, followed by this tall, gangly kid with long, dark hair. He suspected this was the infamous Rohne.
“Hi everyone,” Omega greeted warmly.
“Hiya, kiddos,” Wrecker returned.
Crosshair just nodded.
Hunter stared at Rohne. Rohne stared back, unflinching and curious. Hunter was begrudgingly impressed by the kid’s audacity.
“Oh, Dad, this is Rohne,” Omega introduced, smiling shyly. “Rohne, this is my dad, Hunter.”
Rohne stuck out a hand. Hunter grasped it and they shook. The kid had a nice, strong handshake. Hunter considered that a good quality in a man.
“Pleasure to meet you, sir,” Rohne said politely. “Omega has told me all about you.”
“Good things, I hope,” Hunter said, smiling.
“Good things, I promise.”
“So you like fishing, is that right?”
“Oh, yes. I enjoy it very much, sir.”
“Rohne wants to take me out in his boat later,” Omega said. “If that’s okay with you . . .”
“I’ll have her home by eight,” Rohne promised.
“Well . . .” Hunter looked at their hopeful faces, then decided it wouldn’t hurt. Rohne seemed like a nice young man. He suspected the kid would keep his word. “You’ll have her back by eight on the dot?” he said, and Rohne nodded.
“Yes, sir.”
“Okay. Just do one thing for me and stay for dinner. I’d like to get to know you better, son.”
“That sounds just fine, sir,” Rohne agreed. He and Omega smiled at one another.
“We’re going to go study now,” Omega told Hunter. “We’ve got a big test tomorrow.”
She hurried off to her room with Rohne close on her heels.
Hunter just stood there for a moment, thinking he’d overreacted. Omega had good judgment. If she liked Rohne, it was because he was kind and courteous, and he treated her well. That was all that mattered to Hunter.
“Don’t worry, boss,” Wrecker said suddenly. “I’ll have my eye on ‘em the whole time. That boat won’t get out of my sights.”
“I’m not worried,” Hunter said, meaning it. “We’re forgetting that each of us has taught Omega valuable combat skills. If Rohne steps out of line, I suspect she’ll handle him just fine on her own.”
“Yeah! I bet she’ll kick him right in the—“
“Shhh!” Crosshair hissed, covering Racer’s ears. “Not in front of the baby.”
“Right,” Wrecker said. “Sorry.”
Racer lifted his head from Crosshair’s shoulder and smiled. “Kriff,” he said.
“We’ve got to teach him to say something else,” Hunter decided. “Hey, kid, can you say mama?”
Racer stared at him and blinked his big, brown eyes. Hunter had a feeling the baby understood the task, he was just being very selective about participating. It had to be on his terms.
“Say mama,” Crosshair encouraged.
The front door slid open and in walked Echo, looking dour as usual.
Racer pointed a finger at him. “Mama!” he cried.
Echo startled. “What?”
Hunter sighed. “Well, at least he’s not saying kriff anymore.”

Warm- Part 3
Part 1 of 6 in the Complete Series!
Part 1 Part 2
Pairing: Tech x Reader
Warnings: major character death
About: You and Tech experience another first together….and a last.
Tumblr media
Warm, the feeling of the special thermos in your hands. You’d ordered it from a craftsman here on the island and he’d fulfilled the order surprisingly fast. It could keep any liquid at the preset temperature all day with little battery consumption and had Tech's name engraved on it. The craftsman was a friend of your father's and thus gave you a nice discount. Even so, it had been a bit pricey, but you didn’t care.
You’d planned on giving it to Tech when he came down for lunch. But he didn’t show up. You chalked it up to him helping his brother still and hoped he’d still pick you up for your lesson. Now you stood outside your front door holding the thermos tightly as your new sundress flowed in the evening breeze.
One of the things you enjoyed about living on Pabu was that almost everything was here, craftsmen of different styles, seamstresses, jewelers, and so on. It had been simple to ask the elder seamstress who lived near you to make the dress. She’d smiled knowingly at the colors you chose and helped you decide on a cute but eye-catching design.
“So which one is it? The one with the face tattoo? The big one? Or the smart one?” You’d hated that she’d figured you out so easily. If you gave in and told her then the news would fly across the island in seconds. Soon he’d know and maybe that would push him away. It was hard to understand where his feelings for you stood. He’d wanted to kiss you yesterday and maybe that was a good sign. But he’d also stated it was an experiment. Did that mean he wasn’t sure about his feelings?
“With any luck, you’ll figure it out one of these days.” The downside to being on such a small island is gossip spread like wildfire. No doubt rumors were already spreading about you two. You hoped to the stars above; he hadn't heard them yet.
Your sandal bounced against the stone walkway as you looked around for him. He was twenty minutes late. He was never late. A frown spread across your lips as you turned and looked towards upper Pabu. Maybe something was wrong? Would it be ok for you to go to his ship and confront him?
Picking up your satchel, you placed the thermos inside along with a batch of macarons you’d made for Omega and began the long trek to the top of the island.
-*-
“So, you were just gonna leave without saying goodbye.” Phee watched as Tech continued to avoid eye contact with her.
“That is correct.” His fingers tapped furiously at his datapad. Instead of hearing a retort, he heard silence. Looking carefully to the side he found a disapproving glare from Phee. “Did you require a briefing?”
Phee sighed softly as she crossed her arms. “You know, when two friends are talking, it’s called a conversation.”
Tech adjusted his goggles before looking back to his datapad. “I see, I am sorry for not informing you of our departure.”
A noise from behind Phee drew her attention and she shook her head at Tech. “It’s not me you should be apologizing to.” Stepping to the side, she revealed you standing near the large tree. Without hesitating, Phee moved around the spectacled clone and into the ship, she’d like to say bye to the others. Stopping at the edge of the ramp she spoke softly over her shoulder. “She has a sweet soul. She deserves a goodbye.”
Tech swallowed as he looked at you. You were out of breath from the hike and grasping your satchel strap tightly. The dress you wore made his cheeks flush as he took in his colors. The white, red, and black were an almost gradient style that fell to your ankles. The top was pulled tight around your breast with two straps over both shoulders that tied into bows, the material flared from there and hung perfectly around the rest of your body. The material moved with the breeze and he wondered what it felt like.
It took more courage than you realized to walk toward him. You’d seen the others getting on the ship, prepped and ready to fight something. The ship itself was idling and waiting for takeoff. They were leaving. You didn’t want them to go, you’d finally found the one who made your heart warm. Why did he have to leave? Stopping in front of him you looked down at your sandals, afraid that if you made eye contact you’d cry. “Are you leaving?”
“I am.” He didn’t like the lump that was sitting in his throat. He’d run the numbers, run them four times. What they were about to do was dangerous, and deadly. The likelihood of them all making it back was slim, almost twenty percent. “I am sorry I was not able to enjoy lunch with you today. As well as my tardiness in our lesson.”
Chewing your lip, you looked up at him. You knew it wasn’t his fault, not really. It was clear something big was happening and he was needed. “It’s ok. They need you.” Reaching into your satchel you pulled out the container of macarons. “These are for Omega. A new recipe my father is trying out. We figured Omega would be the best to try them out.”
Tech placed his datapad into his holster and took the container. “I will make sure she gets them.”
“How long will you be gone?” The question came out faster than you’d wanted it to. It would take as long as it took and he didn’t owe you a response. It wasn’t like you two were a couple. Just…friends.
“I do not have an accurate estimate. But the flight to our destination will take three standard rotations. From there it will be an unknown amount of time.” It wasn’t ideal, but who knew what they’d find out. “If that is all then I will be going. I must prepare for our departure.”
Oh, of course. Shaking your head you quickly reached into your satchel and pulled out the thermos. “Here, take this. It has that tea I was telling you about. It’s specially designed to keep it warm for an entire day.” Holding the thermos out to him you tried to force a smile. “With you becoming such a great regular I figured it was only fair that you got your own thermos. That way you can have tea while you’re working on your projects.”
Tech carefully took the drink carrier and turned it in his hands. It was warm and according to the temperature screen on the side, it was at the exact temperature he enjoyed. Turning it carefully he noticed his name in your handwriting. The flowing style of your hand, giving him that reminder of the ocean. “Thank you, this is a useful gift.” It was clearly unique and stylized to fit him perfectly. You’d put so much thought into it and he had nothing for you.
You sighed softly, understanding that Tech didn’t exactly give compliments. This was good enough for you. “When you get back I’ll have that special tea I was telling you about. My father says the order should be arriving in a week.”
“I look forward to trying it. So far your recommendations have been good. There has yet to be a tea I disliked.” He watched as you smiled half-heartedly, clearly fighting the urge to ask another question. “Was there something else?”
Of course, he could see that you wanted to ask something. Clearing your throat you decided to put it all on the line. “When you get back would you like to go for a picnic out on my family’s boat? Would you like to go on a date…with me?” Stars, your heart was beating fast. If he said no then that was it. You’d take the family boat and go become a hermit on some unsettled island.
“Yes. I would enjoy that quite a bit.” He watched as a genuine smile crossed your lips. Adjusting his goggles he decided to record your reactions, subtly he clicked the record button.
“Really?” He’d said yes! Oh, your heart felt like it was about to burst out of your chest.
“I had planned on asking you the same thing last night. But we were interrupted and thus I was unable to ask.” The way your smile reached your eyes was everything to him.
“A lot was interrupted last night.” Like the kiss you’d almost shared, the special time you’d begun looking forward to and apparently him asking you on a date. Brushing your hair behind your ear you decided to fix another one of those interruptions.
But he beat you to it. Closing the gap between the two of you and dropping the thermos and container of sweets to the ground. Tech took your face in his hands and placed his lips against yours. He hoped he was doing this right, from the holovid he’d watched a few nights before it seemed like it was the right move to make at this moment. Your body relaxed into his as your arms wrapped around his neck. Unlike your first kiss beneath the waves, this one was softer but filled with need. Now that you’d confirmed his theory that you liked him as well, he found that he didn’t want to leave you.
“Tech, we need t-“ Echos words caught in his throat as he took in his brother. So you were why Tech had had to call him back. You were a cute little thing and he could see why his brother was interested in you.
Hunter walked over to Echo and opened his mouth to ask what was taking so long when the arc trooper stopped him. Pointing with his scomp, he motioned to the two of you. “Finally.” Came from the leader before he turned and made his way over to the cockpit.
Tech sighed as he finally broke the kiss and leaned his forehead against yours. Behind him, the sound of the Marauder preparing for take-off filled his knowing ears. It was time to go. “I must be leaving. I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be. Your family needs you. I’ll be here.” Your lips felt amazing, hell, your entire body did. You’d finally kissed again but this time without any sneaky motive. It had been just as you’d remembered but now filled with so much warmth you thought you’d melt. “Just come back in one piece, ok? That’s an order.”
A small chuckle came from the clone as he placed another kiss on your lips before pulling away. “As you command, cyar’ika.”
You didn’t know what that word meant, but the way he’d said it made your cheeks flare. So hopefully that meant it was something sweet. You watched as Phee descended the ramp and walked over to you, a knowing smirk on her lips. Hunter had told her what he’d seen and she’d been able to catch the second kiss.
“Hurry back, brown eyes.” Came from the adventure as she watched Tech pick up the fallen items and make his way to the door of the ship. A feeling in her gut told her something was going to happen. She didn’t know what, but it wasn’t good.
Tech stood at the entrance of the Marauder as it began to take off, determined to have you as his final image on Pabu before they hit the atmosphere.
A lump took hold in your throat as you watched the shop take off, Tech standing in the doorway as they ascended through the clouds. You fought the tears that threatened to break the happy facade you’d put on. Next to you, Phee took your hand in hers as you both continued to wave at the ship until it was finally gone.
Then you collapsed in a puddle of fearful tears.
-*-
You two spoke a lot over the next few days. He explained what they were hoping to do. How Crosshair had left them under the worst of circumstances but that he was still their brother.
“In fact, he is my twin.” Tech spoke to you softly as he leaned back in his pilot chair. The others had gone to bed and he was on the first watch.
“I thought all clones were identical? Present company excluded.” It was early morning on Pabu and so you sat in the window of your room watching the fisherman leave for their boats.
“They are. But it is not uncommon for twins to occur. They are connected on a deeper level.” It was hard to explain how exactly it worked. But it just did. Fives and Echo, Waxer and Boil, himself and Crosshair were all special sets of twins. That’s why it hurt him the most when Cross had made his decision to follow the horrific orders of the empire and Order 66.
“I look forward to meeting him then.” You smiled sweetly at the comm before you two continued with your conversation.
He walked you through some issues you were having with your menus and the programming that went with them. When you’d finally figured out on your own where your problem was, damn curly braces, he’d smiled brightly at your reaction. A swell of pride made him feel warm. He’d taught you enough to figure this out on your own and you’d succeeded.
You two discussed your childhoods. What life was like on your home planet before the warlord took over. Your family, your mother. You’d sent him holopics of her and he’d commented on how you two looked the same.
“She would have loved you.” You whispered as your head rested in your pillow. It had been a long day in the shop. You’d spilled an entire tray of tea cups, shattering them across the stone flooring and slicing your leg. Your brother had yelled at you and it had understandably upset you.
“Do you think so?” Tech lay under the console of the cockpit and worked on fixing one of his scanners. “What was she like?” The only maternal figure he’d had growing up was Nala Se and Shaak Ti. Though he figured they could hardly be called mothers to them.
You hummed as your eyes closed, envisioning your mother nearby. “She was feisty, not afraid to stand up for what was right. When we’d moved around before settling on Pabu, she always haggled with the land owners and bosses. Made sure we always had what we needed. She didn’t like a lot of the people we met, a lot of them tried to take advantage of our situation as refugees. But she liked clones. Said they were some of the only ones she could have intelligent conversations with and that they would always keep us safe in the galaxy, like the ones who originally saved us.”
Tech hesitated as he heard you speak of the unit that he saved you. He’d done more research on them, the 17th army, led by a young Jedi knight who had just gotten her rank. One day he’d tell you, share their story with you and let you know all the greatness they’d done. But he wanted to be there with you when he did. “Your mother sounds like a wonderful woman. I feel I would have enjoyed conversing with her.”
A yawn came from you as you smiled at the thought of your mom and Tech sitting on the seawall having a debate about…anything really.
Sliding out from under the console, Tech took his datapad in hand and looked at your peaceful face. “You should sleep. I will be up for a few more hours and do not wish to keep you awake as well.” He watched as you sleepily moved your head from side to side. “Please, Cyar’ika.”
“What does…” Another yawn was released as you settled deeper into your pillow. “Cyar’ika, mean?”
A happy sigh came from the clone as he watched you begin to drift. “It is Mando’a. It means Sweetheart, Darling…Beloved.”
“Hmmm, I like that. Cyar’ika.” You mumbled the word a few times as you finally drifted.
Tech enjoyed the sound of you speaking Mando’a. It was only one word but it still sounded wonderful coming from your lips. Sitting with one of his knees up. He rested his arm and head against it while watching you sleep. The warmth he’d felt from your shared kiss still hadn’t left him. It had energized him in a way he couldn’t describe and kept him warm in the coldness of the marauder. He wasn’t one for feeling loneliness, far too much going on to stop and worry about it. But it seemed with you, he was having multiple firsts.
He missed you. Sure, you two were conversing through the holonet. But it wasn’t the same. Your laugh didn’t sound the same, nor the little hums you tended to make when you were thinking. No matter how hard he tried his tea just didn’t taste the same as yours. Most importantly he missed how the evening sun caught your hair, how it illuminated you like a little halo. It made him warm in a way he couldn’t describe, but didn’t hate it at all.
He stayed that way for far longer than he intended, just watching you sleep comfortably. By the time you’d wake up, they would be on their mission. So for now he continued to enjoy the sound of you sleeping. Only after a while did he finally end the call. “Goodnight, Mesh’la. I will see you soon.” Brown eyes watched as you shifted in your sleep to the sound of his face. His final image of you being a soft smile.
-*-
“When have we ever followed orders?”
-*-
You’d known that once their mission began it may be a while before you heard from him. But it was going on five days now and you’d still not heard anything. Pulling out your datapad you quickly typed him a message.
“I hope your mission has been a success so far. That tea I was telling you about is finally here. I’m waiting for you to get back so we can try it together.” You chewed your lips as you thought about what you were going to say next. “I was thinking about trying to learn mando’a, there’s a protocol droid here that knows over fifty thousand languages. I asked and he knew Mando’a.” A part of you almost erased that last part. You weren’t sure why you felt embarrassed about learning his language. It didn’t seem so silly, it showed you were interested in learning more about him. Didn’t it? Fighting the urge to delete it you quickly sent the message. After another thought, you sent another message.
“I miss you, Tech. Come home soon.”
-*-
Three weeks passed when you finally saw the familiar ship break the atmosphere. A gasp left your lips as you almost dropped the tray you were holding. You didn’t even bother telling your father where you were going. Your feet carried you far faster than you thought they could as you made your way to upper Pabu. Finally, they were back.
You’d spent every day staring at the sky, hoping for the familiar sound of a ship coming in. Every day you’d make sure you looked your best, hair and makeup done perfectly, a cute dress or shirt and skirt. A warm cup of tea was constantly sitting, waiting for him to come. Now he was back. You stumbled over your feet and fell to the cobblestone. The cut on your knee went unnoticed as you scrambled to make your way up. The hem of your dress was torn but you could care less. He hadn’t messaged you back, nor had he called, but you’d yell at him later about that.
Finally cresting the top of the staircase you smiled as the Marauder took its place. Behind you, the sound of another set of shoes on the cobbles drew your attention. Turning, you nodded excitedly to Phee. Though the woman seemed to have a more distressed look on her face. Did something bad happen? Oh Stars, was someone injured? Turning you watched as the door to the ship opened and the ramp descended.
Finally.
Omega was the first to descend. Well, Omega and Wrecker. The large clone was carrying the child out of the ship. Both of their faces were solemn as they passed you.
Next was the one named Echo. Tech had briefly explained him to you but you were looking forward to getting to know him better now that he was here.
You weren’t exactly sure who this next one was. Perhaps this was the twin that Tech had been telling you about? Crosshair? He looked…mad, really mad actually. He made his way towards you and stopped for a moment. His brown eyes scanned over you as if you were an enemy or something. But then he let out a long sigh and moved past you.
Well, that must mean that Tech and Hunter were hanging back. Tech had told you one night that he couldn’t settle until he knew the ship was settled and taken care of.
You could hear Phee off to the side conversing with Echo about something under their breaths. You weren’t sure what it was but they seemed pretty upset. Surprisingly, Omega was silent. The entire time you’d known the young girl she was also talking. But now she was so quiet.
Something began to form in the pit of your stomach as the air continued to hold a weird weight. Something was wrong, wasn’t it? So far everyone seemed ok. Which has to mean something had happened to one of the others.
The sound of boots on durasteel drew your attention back to the Marauder and you turned with hope in your heart that it was Tech.
Hunter had done everything he could to prepare himself for this. For what he was about to have to do. Hands held the important items tightly as he watched his brothers and sister depart the ship. The look on Echo's face let him know all that he needed. You were waiting. He swallowed as his eyes rested on a cold bunk. It was best to get this over with.
The small unsettling feeling morphed into a lump in your throat as you watched their leader make his way over to you. In his hands was a small bundle and as the sun caught the thermos you felt your knees begin to buckle.
“There was an incident.” Hunter watched as Phee made her way back to your side. “I won’t get into too many details. But…” This felt impossible.
Phee inhaled slowly as she took your hand. “I’m sorry. But…Tech is gone.”
Everything stopped at that moment. The sound of rushing water filled your ears as your knees finally gave out and you collapsed to the stone beneath you. The pain of your cut knee digging into the ground once more went unnoticed as the pain in your throat…and your heart.
Hunter closed his eyes to the sound of your cries as Phee wrapped her arms around you and held you tight. “H-he had a…plan. In case things went sideways. Tech always had a plan for everything.” His hands trembled as Phee stood and took the items from him before returning to you.
This couldn’t be happening, it couldn’t be true. The bundle from earlier was slid into your lap as Phee continued to rub your back. She was speaking but you couldn’t hear any of it, nothing mattered as you observed the items in your lap. The bundle passed to you was one of his shirts, the thermos you’d ordered for him, his personal datapad….and a pair of broken goggles. Your hands trembled as you held the goggles. These were his. You’d adored how they looked on him. “No. No!”
Crosshair stood to the side as he watched you wail over his twin. Omega had told him about you as they waited to be rescued on Mount Tantiss. She’d spoken highly of you, of the sweets you made and how you and Tech had formed a relationship. From the way she’d described things, his brother was head over heels for you. Now you were here, crying in front of him as you mourned the loss of his twin. His anger bubbled at the idea that his brother had finally found someone who’d liked him for him, and he’d been pulled away from you. Saw Gerrera, because of that bastard things had gone south. The mission had been a waste of time. The locator had been lost, and in turn, they’d lost Omega to Hemlock. Most importantly they’d lost Tech. If Crosshair ever saw that so-called Rebel, he’d personally kill him.
Phee held you tightly as you continued to sob into her chest. You poor thing had been through so much already and now…now this.
Cold, the temperature of an untouched cup of tea that sat on the seawall overlooking the sea below. Beside it, a datapad flashed a reminder to meet someone after their shop closed across the screen. Unanswered messages waited to be read and a video remained paused from where the owner had left it. Soft hands held a pair of broken goggles tightly as the owner stared out at the water. Velvet lips trembled as tears ran down their cheeks. In a breathy whisper, a name was spoken into the cold night air.
“Tech.”

“Father, are you sure he’ll survive? The cable car next to him was destroyed. How could anyone survive that fall?” Young blue eyes stared at the bandaged body in front of him. The chest rose and lowered slowly, the owner of the body struggling to get each breath out.
“Their repel hook saved them when it tangled around the ladder spokes. It slowed his fall. Without that he would be dead.” Old graying hands carefully peeled the bandage from the injured forehead of the stranger in front of him. The blood was finally clotting. “It will be a struggle. But I think he’ll make a recovery.” A clean bandage replaced the previously removed one as the elder male watched the stranger closely. “The village doctor will be here soon to check him over. Hopefully, we can help this young man get back to where he belongs.

ROTTMNT: You Are Not Alone
Leo, Raph, Donnie, and Mikey try to stop a couple of thieves, but get interrupted by a big surprise.
--
Chapter 2
“I’ll see you guys later, after I save the day. Uh buh-bye.”
“Leo!” Raph snaps as he watches his younger brother dive off the roof and into a portal.
“Ugh. Why does he have to run off like that?” he grumbles in frustration.
“That’s Leo,” Donnie replies wearily.
“Hey, who’s that?” Mikey asks, pointing at a human boy in a hockey mask riding the roof of the Action News van they’re following.
“One of the thieves?” Raph suggests.
“Wait a sec,” Donnie snaps and lowers his goggles over his eyes to get a closer look. “His mask and weapon...and that mark on his cloak...”
“That’s my logo! That’s my tech!” he shouts, outraged. “How does he have my tech?”
He tries to fly off with his battle shell, but Raph holds him back by his ankle. “Donnie! Stick to the plan! Do maneuver 12.”
“Wait, look!” Mikey gasps.
On the van, the boy lifts his metal hockey stick-like weapon, blades spinning around the head like a chainsaw. With one swing, he slices the front of the van clean off.
Inside the vehicle, Leo, Hypno-potamus, and Warren Stone scream with surprise as the van flips onto its roof. The boy jumps off, landing safely a few feet away.
Leo groans painfully as he lies upside down in the van. He watches as the boy reaches in through the smashed windshield and grabs the stolen artifact.
Raph, Donnie, and Mikey watch all this happen from their perch on a nearby roof.
“Okay, new plan,” Raph says, “get that guy.”
The boy glares at the artifact thoughtfully as he starts to turn away, when Raph yells, “hey!”
He spins to see the large turtle leaping at him.
“Raphael?”

Thinking about TBB S3
Tumblr media
Warning: Spoilers from The Bad Batch S2 Finale.
In the last season of The Clone Wars, when The Bad Batch is introduced, Hunter pointed out that Tech recorded everything. He was always with that red light in his goggles. ALL THE TIME. So, at the end of the Season 2 in The Bad Batch, when that d*** of Dr. Hemlock threw Tech's goggles at Hunter,... I wonder, could they downlad the recordings and watch what happened to Tech??? Or maybe the data was stored elsewhere and that scene was just for emotional purposes. 🤔
----
2. Tech's alive and he will return in the second part of the third season (and final T_T). And he finally is going to return to Pabu to have his romance with Phee Genoa 🤞🏻 (I felt that there was a lot of development in S2, only for it to be abruptly cut)
About Tech's future. I think in 3 options:
1. Tech's already gone. Bye 😢😭👋🏻
3. Dr. Hemlock captured him and Tech's going to be like a puppet for him because of his experiments with clones, making his own family fight against him (God I hope NOT).
----
And then, about the Bad Batch in general... well, I'm afraid this is gonna be very sad but I REALLY HOPE that they all can live happy in Pabu, away from everything, having a peaceful life.
----
Let's see, BTW, if we know why is Omega so important. I don't think Filoni will leave us without any explanation.

Hello it's @clone-anon and I was just gonna leave this here okay bye
You sat next to Tech in comfortable silence. It was nearing the end of a long day and he was adjusting something with some new eyewear, but you weren't paying much attention, preferring instead to have your eyes closed as you leaned against him and felt him breathe next to you.
Although he was using both hands, he somehow managed to remain steady enough that you balanced on his shoulder comfortably. He wore a little smile and you felt him let out a happy sigh when he was done. You opened your eyes as he inspected his work, really looking at it for the first time.
"Tech..." you said as a smile spread across your face. "Is that what I think it is?"
"Yes. Modified snorkeling goggles. I realized I could order a pair, but I wanted to add some modifications, so I ordered the lense and adjusted them myself. What do you think?"
He had that Tech smile. The same one he always had when he was working on something particularly interesting or had finished solving a difficult problem.
"You want to go snorkeling together," you inquired, still smiling and making sure you were really connecting the dots placed in front of you.
"Yes. I thought we might get to see some of the same animals we saw on our first date at the aquarium. I have some ideas of where we might go, but I would prefer if we could decide on a location together. Would you like that, my darling?"
You reached up, held his gorgeous face in both your hands and tenderly kissed his lips before replying, "I would love that."
Tumblr media
Sobbing, crying, on the floor in a puddle of my own tears
Clone anon, I need you to know that I adore you with my whole heart. I would die for yoy. Idk who told you about my diving but when I find them, I'm gonna give you both the biggest fucking smooches. I cannot begin to tell you how much this meant to me, tearing up in my car rn. I hope you have nothing but the absolute best week darling clone-anon.

The Spark of A Rivalry
Eyyyyyy You guys remember Juno Panatric? My Psychonauts intern oc? Well I’m subjecting her onto you all again because she has been rotating in my mind like a microwave dinner.
Btw If you want Juno’s appearance just type Juno Panatric in the searchbar on my blog (for lack of a better word) And you’ll find her. Although her shoes are black with yellow buckles now. And in this point in time she doesn’t have the lab coat and goggles. (I’m too lazy to describe her appearance in an organic way lmao).
Fic in under the keep reading tag.
Juno shuffled in her limo seat. It was taking every part of her not to fidget. She had bent over backwards to become a Psychonauts intern. All that studying, training, convincing her mother, and paperwork, all leading up to this. Being a government organization, she would no doubt be working with the best of the best.
Juno glanced back at her mom, who was answering work emails on her phone.
Her mother, Manzana Panatric. A  light blue skinned woman dark purple hair pulled back in a bun and wearing a power suit. The CEO of Panatric industries, and Juno’s mother.
“Now Juno” Manzana started. Juno started to sit up straighter, darting back to her mother. “You are about to enroll into a government agency, and you will be representing the Panatric family. You’ll be among the best of the best, and I expect you to act, work, and look like it. Understand?”
“Yes Ma’am” Juno replied, trying to hide the anxiety in her voice.
“Well” Manzana gently grabbed onto Juno’s clip-on tie. “I’m sure you’ll be able to get the first two down” she said, condescendingly.
Juno sunk into herself a little, was she really underdressed? She didn’t think  everyone there would be wearing suits and dresses, but was it a mistake to simply wear what she always wore (Or, what her mom allowed her to wear, anyway). Should Juno have worn something nicer? Should she have-
Manzana let go of Juno’s tie and began to laugh “I’m only joking! You don’t have to take everything so seriously.”
Juno smiled, (as best she could) right. A joke. It was always hard to tell whether or not her mom was joking. Sometimes, they didn’t even feel like jokes. Maybe her mother just had a sense of humor Juno didn’t understand? She decided not to pry on it. A joke was just that, a joke.
As the car slowed down, Juno perked up. She looked out of the window to see a giant, brain shaped building.
“Well, this seems to be your stop.” Manzana commented. Juno briskly made her way out of the car.
Juno turned back, but before she could even muster out a “Bye” the limo had already sped off. Juno couldn’t help but feel a slight bit saddened.
‘It’s no big deal’ Juno thought to herself. ‘She’s just busy, that’s all.” Still, a part of her couldn’t help but think that her mom could have taken a few seconds to say goodbye. Heck, her dad spent a good minute saying goodbye and wishing her luck, and he was always busy working on new tech for the company. (It brought Juno a little comfort, if she was being honest).
Juno took a deep breath and walked in to the building. Back straight and a stoic look on her face.
...However, that stoic mask fell as quickly as it came once Juno saw the interior.
Juno had seen pictures of the outside of the Psychonauts HQ. However, she had never seen the inside until now. She had expected it to be cold, clean, and minimalist. Similar to the interiors of the Panatric Industries HQ she had grown to know like the back of her hand as she aged. However, the interior that greeted her was practically the opposite.
A huge glass ceiling that let the sun shine through. A colorful and open-spaced lobby bustling with energetic workers. Real plants adorned the halls, including full grown trees! There were even floating platforms that people could just levitate up to.
Juno looked around, in awe. It was such a stark contrast to the Yuppie-infested, customer-faux-friendly, and dare she say, soulless, corporate building she grew up in, or any company building for that matter. It almost looked like something out of a video game.
However, Juno was quickly snapped out of her trance by the sight of a group of teens, which she could only assume would be her fellow interns. Juno took a few steps back, a sudden nervousness washed up over her. “No No, don’t be nervous. These are kids your age, children, they don’t know you, just breathe.” Juno reaffirmed herself as she took a deep breath and analyzed the group in front of her, thankfully they didn’t seem to notice her yet, as they all seemed to be busy talking amongst themselves.
In the pack of teens, there was a bored looking goth girl, a girl in a knitted hat in glasses, a girl about her height in a dinosaur shirt with a skateboard, a small redhead that was mostly silent, staring off into the distance, a boy in a tacky show host suit and a pompadour bigger than his head, and a tall boy in a sunhat who was fiddling with a yo-yo.
For a brief moment, Juno pondered that maybe the standards were lower than she thought.
Juno took another breath and spoke up. “Excuse me” she began.
The teens stopped to look at her (The redhead turned a bit slower than the others) Juno felt like all eyes were on her. She cleared her throat.
“I assume you are all interns, correct?” Juno asked. The Pompadour boy was the first to speak up. “Right on the mark, that’s us.” he answered.
“Excellent” Juno, straightened her tie.  “My name is Juno Panatric. I have just recently joined the intern program.” Juno spoke politely as possible as she introduced herself, “I look forward to working with you all.”
The interns seemed taken aback by her formality, much to Juno’s confusion. “You don’t have to talk like that.” The sunhat boy reassured her, “This isn’t a boot camp.”
“Yeah, loosen up” The goth girl replied, her tone was oddly jovial, Juno had expected her to be a bit more annoyed when saying something like that. Perhaps she found amusement in Juno’s overly polite introduction?
“WAIT” The girl in the dinosaur shirt perked up rolling over towards Juno. “Did you say Panatric industries? As in THE psychotech company!? THAT Panatric industries?” The dinosaur girl got right in her face, excitedly, Juno could have sworn she was much calmer earlier.
“Ummmmm, Yes?” Juno answered. The dinosaur girl looked more excited than before. “Oh my gosh! I have so many questions! What are you guys working on now? What materials do you use? Is it true you guys are gonna make psychic power-based drones to explore Saturn?” Juno felt a little overwhelmed by the questions, she hugged herself, resisting the urge to shock this girl and make a break for it. However, The dino girl came to a halt when the glasses girl chuckled and spoke up.
“Gisu, lay off the new kid. She’s probably super nervous.” The dino girl, allegedly named Gisu, walked back, seemingly disgruntled, the glasses girl stepped up in her place. “Sorry about that.” She began “Gisu... REALLY likes machinery, to say the least.” She held out a hand “June, was it? I’m Norma. Norma Natividad. I look forward to working with you too.” Juno heard a bit of playfulness in the last comment, Juno felt a bit relieved that someone had decided to humor her. “It’s Juno” Juno corrected, shaking Norma’s hand, feeling a strange warmth from it.
“Well Juno now that your an intern, first things first, we gotta get you a uniform.” Norma said. Juno felt a little tense, “Wait, I didn’t read anything about a uniform? Was I supposed to buy that myself, did I-” As Juno rattled on, Norma spoke up. ‘Haha, no no! You didn’t do anything wrong, uniforms are provided by the program. Just follow us to the closet and we’ll get you set up.” Norma and the other interns trotted off the the closet, Juno walked to keep up with their pace. Juno was finding herself pleasantly surprised by the events of her first day. She would be working in a colorful, life-filled building, and the interns seemed more than happy to have her as a part of their posse (Especially that Gisu girl) and were even giving her a uniform, free of charge (Not that she couldn’t afford it, but she still appreciated the thought).
With every step Juno took, a butterfly in her stomach flew away...
...Only for the entire swarm to return all at the same time once she found herself in the storage closet, clothes folded in her hands, in nothing but her camisole and underwear.
“You okay in there, Juno? You’ve been in there a while.” Norma asked, a little too sweetly for Juno’s comfort.
“Umm” Juno paused “I guess so? Just to clarify, if there’s a uniform, why aren’t any of you wearing it?”
Juno heard a pause from outside, before being followed by Norma speaking. “Oh uh, we’re level two interns. Now hand us your clothes so we can get you the uniform.”
“Can’t you all just give me the uniform first?” Juno asked, sheepishly. “No silly” Norma chuckled “We need your clothes so we can measure them and get you a uniform that fits you.” She replied. “Unless you want us to come in there and measure you?” She heard a deeper voice, presumably the goth girl, say.
Juno blushed furiously at the thought, a bunch of girls, measuring her, in her underwear?! Juno shook her head furiously and snapped herself back to reality “NO! I’m fine!” Juno yelled, flustered, before beginning to find her composure and talk again “But, can’t I just pick out a uniform in my size? That Gisu girl and I seem to have similar body types, well, in terms of height at least. I mean I don’t know THAT much about tailoring and clothes and whatnot, but SURELY there has to be-”
“Do you want the uniform or not?” Juno heard Norma snap impatiently.
“Okay okay!” Juno said. She opened the door slightly and handed her clothes to the goth girl, shutting it immediately afterwards. Juno sighed and and sunk down into the floor, hugging her legs. “Please hurry” She mumbled, trying to cover herself as much of her d̶i̶s̶g̶u̶s̶t̶i̶n̶g̶  body as possible.
15 minutes had passed, Juno was still in the storage closet, in her underwear. “What’s taking them so long?” She thought. She gathered her courage and stood up, she reached the knob, surely they’d be back by now, if something had gone wrong, they would have let her know, right? You’d think they’d have the foresight to at least give her something to wear in the meantime. She decided to just take a peek, maybe one of the interns was keeping watch while she was inside the closet, Juno grasped the door handle and gently turned it.
Jiggle jiggle. The knob didn’t move
No...
Juno turned the knob again, starting to feel a sense of panic.
Jiggle Jiggle, the knob still didn’t move, she was locked in.
“They didn’t...” she said to herself. Juno’s panic only grew worse when the realization had started to sink in.
𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘪𝘥. Juno thought, it was like her own mind was taunting her again.
Juno sunk down and sat against the door, shaking and hugging herself. Suddenly it felt hard to breathe, her heart was pounding out of her chest. She grabbed her aching head, feeling the need to steady herself despite sitting down.
𝘐𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘴𝘰 𝘰𝘣𝘷𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘺𝘦𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘧𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘪𝘵.
“Shut up” Juno muttered, to seemingly no one.
𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘦 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘺. 𝘕𝘰𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺'𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘦. 𝘠𝘰𝘶'𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘱𝘪𝘥.
“S-stop” Juno croaked, tears forming at the corner of her eyes, she tried to wipe them away as quickly as they came.
𝘔𝘰𝘮 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥𝘯'𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘫𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘥. 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯'𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘰𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘰𝘸𝘯. 𝘚𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘯'𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘯.
Juno touched her cheek, feeling tears poor freely out of her eyes. Was she really crying? God she was pathetic. She was a horrible daughter. Her mom was right.
Her mom was right her mom was right her mom was right her mom was right her mom was right her mom was right her mom was right her mom was right her mom was right her mom was right her mom was right her mom was right her mom was right her mom was right her mom was right her mom was right her mom was right her mom was right her mom was right her mom was right her mom was right her mom was right her mom was right her mom was right.
Juno shook like a leaf, crying as her brain screamed at her.
At least nobody could see her like this.
After what felt like an eternity, but was probably only a few minutes. Juno lied on the floor, emotionally exhausted. She stared at the ceiling mulling over her thoughts. The interns were probably laughing about how stupid she was right now.
As Juno stewed in her thoughts, flurries of thoughts started to connect and flow, like jolts of electricity flowing through a newly connected circuit.
𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘴---𝘕𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢---𝘛𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘦---𝘋𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵                   !                 !                  𝘛𝘰𝘰 𝘯𝘪𝘦---𝘈𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯                               !             !                                          𝘙𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘭---𝘛𝘩𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵--𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶                                                   !                                            𝘐𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘪𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘪𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘶                                            𝘐𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘪𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘪𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘶                                            𝘐𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘐𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘐𝘏𝘈𝘛𝘌𝘠𝘖𝘜
I hate you. I hate you. I hate you.
That sentence repeated in her mind, like a broken record, and as it repeated, Juno’s sadness slowly turned to rage.
Juno stood up, as she dug through the storage closet, she gritted her teeth. Muttering insults and unintelligible anger under her breath.
She opened a box and found a labcoat. It was a bit big for her, but she wasn’t in a position to be picky. Juno put the labcoat on and buttoned it up, and rolled up the sleeves to her elbows once she noticed the sleeves hung off her hands slightly.
Small sparks of electricity crackled around Juno as rage flowed through her. As soon as she found a way out of here, she would give that four-eyed SNAKE a piece of her mind.
—————————————-
Norma stared at the clock, it had been what, 15, 17 minutes? Usually it didn’t take this long for someone to get out of the closet, or at least figure out a way out, did that new girl earnestly believe that they were going to give her a uniform? Was she just in the closet absentmindedly waiting for one of the interns to hand her a uniform?
Norma shook her head. “Hey Gisu, that new kid said her surname was Panatric, right?” She asked.
Gisu’s eyes lit up. “Yeah! It’s so cool right! I can get the latest info on what their making straight from the horses mouth! Maybe she can slip me some demo versions of their latest machines! Do you think she’ll let me submit my own ideas because I-“
Norma unintentionally stopped listening once gisu started rambling on. ‘That’s right’ Norma thought. ‘Juno’s family runs THE Panatric industries. They were one of the biggest tech companies out right now, and the biggest (and ONLY) Psychic based tech company in the country.’ Norma cycled through her reasoning in her head, thoughts spinning like a load of laundry. ‘She probably, no, DEFINITELY got everything she wanted growing up. She’d obviously be sheltered. Heck, I wouldn’t be surprised if her parents just bribed the psychonauts to let her be an intern.’
Norma unconsciously felt a slight bit of envy, imagining the many luxuries Juno must have gotten to indulge herself in, (but who wouldn’t be jealous, right?). However, that envy was quickly replaced with a sense of reassurance.
‘Yeah. I’m giving her a wake-up call’ Norma self-reassuringly thought. ‘If I hadn’t done it, it would have been someone else who gave Juno the wake-up call. And it would have been far worse. It’s good I gave it to her while she’s still a teen.’
Norma played those thoughts in her head like a record. It was good. She gave Juno a wake up call. It was a good thing. S̶h̶e̶ w̶a̶s̶n̶’t̶ a̶ b̶a̶d̶ p̶e̶r̶s̶o̶n̶. Norma did a good thing for Juno, She-
Norma was snapped out of her thoughts as she heard a loud slam, she and the other interns turned their heads.
Norma saw Juno, burning with rage, reddened eyes, and electricity crackling around her (electrokinesis, presumably.) As well as wearing a slightly oversized lab coat. Norma felt as if she was looking at a little girl about to throw a tantrum.
‘Speak of the devil’ Norma thought.
——————————————————-
Juno angrily marched on over to the pack of teens, she leaned on over to the table, slamming her hands on it and leaning towards Norma. Norma’s eyes widened in surprise.
“That” Juno began, fuming with rage. “Wasn’t. Funny.” Against her better judgement Juno than grabbed Norma by the petard, Norma’s eyes widened a bit at the sudden outburst.
“I want my clothes back. NOW.” Juno then held up her other hand, crackling with electricity, making sure that Norma got the picture of what Juno would to her otherwise. It was an empty threat, Juno only wanted to intimidate Norma.
“Alright alright, there’s no need for tantrums.” Norma gently pushed Juno away after Juno let go of her petard. Juno scowled a bit, realizing that Norma must have seen right through her threat, she supposed the other interns did to, nobody tried to stop her, than again, they were probably just immobilized by astonishment at Juno’s actions.
“You’re right to be upset though, and I’m sorry, I’m fact, I’m going to make it up to you.”
“Oh really?” Juno asked sardonically. She could practically FEEL the condescension in Norma’s voice. If Norma really WAS trying to be sincere, she was failing miserably.
“Of course! I’m going to let you finish my asset recovery mission.” Norma chirped as she pulled out a list and handed it over to Juno. Juno studied the list intently.
“My intern assignment is to track down this list of missing psychonauts assets. MISSION CRITICAL assets.” Norma explained.
Juno looked up from the list and scoffed So you’re making it up to me by making me do you’re homework. Which is just a stupid, glorified scavenger hunt.” Juno twirled her finger in faux celebration “Wow, lucky me.” Juno said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
Norma huffed and crossed her arms “If you’re going to act like a child, you’re going to do a child’s work.”
Juno thought for a moment, the sentence echoing in her mind. Suddenly, Juno, smirked.
“Oh, so you’re too incompetent to do a CHILD’s work?” Juno asked, mockingly, putting emphasis on the “child” part to further drive her point home. The other interns collectively oooooooooooo’d at Juno’s remark, all except for the Sunhat boy, who seemed to be concerned about the situation, but also curious to see where this was going, and of course Norma.
“What did you just say?” Norma asked, her pleasant demeanor completely gone.
“You heard me. Or did you just not understand? I’m soooooo sorry, I shouldn’t have used a multi-syllabic word. Would it be better if I used a simpler word, you know, something more appropriate for your level?” Juno asked, condescendingly.
Juno could practically FEEL the rage from emanating from Norma. Quite literally in fact, as Juno felt the air around her suddenly get much warmer. She couldn’t tell if the others were sweating from the heat or from the tension.
Norma growled, swiping the list out of Juno’s hands. “Fine” the bespectacled girl growled, clearly trying to hold her irritation back. “Lizzie and I will get your stupid clothes back.”
Juno smirked as she watched Norma and Lizzie go. With Lizzie trying to calm down Norma.
‘Spoiled brat’ she heard. Juno’s smirk disappeared as quickly as it came, not wanting Norma to get the last word in, even if wasn’t spoken out loud, and completely untrue on top of that.
‘Two-faced witch’ Juno snapped back telepathically. She saw Norma tense up a little more.
Even if Juno was going to be bosom buddies with the other interns over time, there was NO WAY she was going to get along with Norma.

Hot single in your area! 😈  Find your solemate!
Somehow it bypasses Bucky’s spam folder and is in his primary email. SHIELD tech is too advanced to let fake mails like this reach him and this doesn’t make sense. Unless it was one of the stupid dating websites he signed up for.
Leaving aside the obvious typo in the subject, he clicks on it, hoping it doesn’t unleash a virus onto his computer.
He’s instead greeted with a poorly Photoshopped picture of you at a bar with a martini in your hand. He doesn’t have to look too hard to see that the martini is, in fact, an emoji. Off to a terrible start already.
Right beside it is an even worse image, an imitation of an early Internet chat box.
Harbinger of Doom just sent you a message!
Come to the empty lot near lair. Bring goggles. 😩💦
Decline/Accept
He wants to strangle you.
______
“Why did you curse my eyes so early in the morning?” He spots you at the top of the lair, speaking loudly so that it hopefully reached you.
“What?” you yell back down instead. “If you’re saying something, I can’t hear you.”
He rolls his eyes. He pulls his phone from his pocket and presses on your contact.
He watches the look of confusion morph into one of slight surprise when you reach into your pocket and pull out your call.
“Don’t ever send an image like that to me again,” he says directly.
“If that one image is too much for you, how will we ever make our sex tape?”
His mouth opens and shuts like goddamn fish.
He can hear your laughter even without the phone.
“First of all- stop laughing- first of all, a sex tape is never going to happen. Second of all, I have a debriefing to go to, we need to make this quick.”
He holds up a finger when he sees you begin to say something. By the look of trouble painted all over your face, he knows it’s going to be a dumb innuendo.
“Thirdly, why are you standing there?”
“I watched The Last Airbender,” you say once your cackling dies down.
“I like that show.” He did. Peter sometimes watched it when he came over and Bucky more often than not joined in.
“I know, you told me.”
Oh.
“Okay, what now?”
“Put your goggles on.” You take one step towards the ledge.
“What are you doing?” The goggles don’t do anything to shield him from the sun, considering that they’re not tinted. Maybe he could invest in those.
You send him a smile, taking a step further. His walk towards the building turns into a jog, then a sprint when you’re basically standing on the edge.
You spread your arms out like Jesus Christ himself before flinging yourself off the building. His stomach drops.
His phone falls to the ground, discarded to the side as he sprints to break your landing.
It never comes.
Instead, a gust of wind smacks him in the face, forcing him a few steps backwards.
“I am now an air bender.” your eyes shone. “Kind of.”
Just like that, the show was ruined.
He wipes the dust on from his glasses that he now understands why you made him wear. Considerate, for a person who nearly just gave him a heart attack.
“Why.” It’s not even a question, just a statement.
“You know how the Tower has a giant ‘A’ on the side?”
He stares at you.
“I‘m gonna spray paint ‘asshole’ on the side of it.”
Pepper would not like that.
“That’s not even evil.”
“Yeah, but it’d annoy your super friends,” You do a flip midair, testing out the repulsors that were tied around your palms, “and I’m the voice of the people.”
You’re too high for him to reach. He doesn’t have his tools, or anything useful on him considering that he never had to use them before. He couldn’t even launch himself at you from the side of the building because you’d just move out of the way. He could jump really high but it would just have the same consequence.
He could talk and keep you distracted but that worked once, it wouldn’t again. At least not for long.
Fuck, he really had only one option.
He leaves you to do your somersaults and turns, walking over to where he dropped his phone. It’s an upgrade from the brick he was using a while ago, but not a high end Stark model. A smartphone, but barely.
He sighs, punching in the number and holding it up to his ear.
“Who are you calling?” you yell from above him.
“Go back to your shitty aerobics,” he yells back.
You pause for a second. “Was that a fucking pun, James Bar-”
The dial tone ends when someone picks up. He diverts his attention back to the call.
“Hey man, I-
“No.”
“You didn’t even let me finish.”
“It’s probably something stupid,” Sam doesn’t even sound annoyed, just uninterested.
“I need your wings.”
“I was right. Bye.”
It was a long shot anyway.
“Fuckin’ hold on a second.” He sees you disintegrate a concrete block by having it drop from the air. “You come here and fix this, then. She’s air bending now.”
“...like Avatar?” Sam unsurprisingly got the reference.
Peter’s interests were usually shared by everyone in the Tower, just because they had to compensate for the teasing he had to endure. It led to a lot of geeky documentaries and occasional musicals. Bucky wouldn’t be caught dead humming songs from Thoroughly Modern Millie under his breath.
“Yeah.”
“You want me to come and fight your girlfriend,” he says slowly.
“She’s not my girlfriend,” Bucky urges, “and yes, I need help. Can’t exactly reach her when she’s twenty feet above me.”
“We have a briefing in 30 minutes. Why did you even go there today?”
He doesn’t know how to answer that. Just looks up at you smacking one of the repulsors against your thigh when it sputters for a second. It’s tradition.
“Well?” Bucky ignores his question.
“Fine,” Sam’s voice is distant for a second as he agrees. “Clint’s asking if he can come too.”
“Fuck no.” One of them was more than enough and Sam was way better at negotiation.
He hears a faint profanity from who he assumed was Clint before the call cuts.
He takes a seat on the ground and waits.
“You’re not going to make any effort to stop me?” You have your arms pressed to your side, palms pointed downwards to keep you afloat.
“I could just throw things at you again.” He makes a mention towards the small pebbles.
“I will fuck you up if you even try,” you warn. He lifts his arms in surrender. “So that’s it. You’re just going to sit there.”
“To be honest, I couldn’t care less if you painted the building,” he says with the least amount of interest he could muster, not that that was very hard.
“Do you not like your team?”
“I do.” He isn’t lying. “But they’re little shits.”
“I can draw a couple of dicks on their window, no problem,” you say offhandedly.
He looks up at you through his fingers. “That won’t be required.”
Although it was appreciated.
“Cool, so then I’m gonna go.” You make a mention of the utility belt on your waist. He looks at the many spray cans that decorate it.
“What colour are you going with?” he interrupts quickly. Fuckin’ Sam. What was the point of wings if he couldn’t get here in 2 minutes?
“Red, probably.” You look down. “I got purple and white just in case.”
“Building’s dark, red is good.”
“You really don’t care, do you?” You lower yourself down to the ground, a few feet ahead of him. “What’s going on?”
“Nothing.” For fucks’ sake, Sam. “You really don’t like superheroes, do you?”
“I don’t have anything against them.”
“Then why do you do this every week?”
This was wading into personal territory and he did not like it.
“Well.” Your eyebrows knit together. “Because I want to. It’s fun.”
“No other reason?”
“Do I need to have another reason?” You push your palm downwards, sending you back up into the air. “Can’t I just be evil because I want to?”
“Sure,” he says. He’s heard worse reasons. “Why not?”
“Besides, if you think I don’t like superheroes then you should meet Jake.”
“Who’s Jake?” He hadn’t ever heard you mention him before because he’d remember if you had.
“My roommate.”
“I didn’t see him when I came over.”
“That’s because we’re not conjoined at the hip.” It takes you a second to stabilise. “Besides, he grabbed the water while I got the bracelet but he refused to come say hi.”
Bucky looked down at his wrist. It was still there. He found himself fidgeting with it more often than not.
“He hates superheroes?”
“He has a valid reason.” Your eyes widen in worry when your head suddenly dips.
“What is it?” He knows the height at which you’re at isn’t very dangerous but if need be, he’s close by.
“Come find out.” Your eyes shone mischievously. “But yeah, no reason for me to be evil.”
“Not even a tragic backstory?”
“None. But if you want it, I can give you one, Barnes.” You test the waters, seeing how long you can lie horizontally. “Can’t promise you’ll like it though.”
“Try me.” He has time to kill. He’s a good listener.
“Well, it all started with my family- a troop of gorillas.” You flip over to lie on your back. “They practically raised me, they did. Until my gorilla mother died and I was all but consumed by grief and-”
“Your mother was a gorilla?” He entertains the notion.
“Or was it my father?” you ask thoughtfully. “I don’t know, I don’t remember. Anyway, I met a-”
“Just to clarify, none of this is real, right?” he interjects.
You stare at him. He stares at you.
“Bucky, that’s the plot of Tarzan,” you say slowly, “or at least whatever I remember of it... which I’m beginning to realise isn’t much.”
“Just clarifying.” He leans back again.
“Anyway so then when my mother, the deer-”
“Gorilla.”
“Whatever. Was killed, I escaped to some place-”
“Where?”
“Somewhere. And I stayed with these seven men-”
“Why seven?” He actually remembers watching this movie with his sister when it came out. An early memory, a bit faded. He remembers how long he saved up for the ticket.
“Because character development. And then I realised the reason my life was so weird was because there was a rat controlling me by pulling on my hair-”
“What the fuc-”
“If you ask any more questions, I’m going to stop.”
Bucky blinks at you. “So that’s your backstory.”
“Raw and uncut, baby.”
“Just to get this straight, your mother, the gorilla deer-”
“Witch.”
“Huh?”
“She was a witch who stole my hair.”
“Wha-”
He’s interrupted by the giant shadow cast by something that flies overhead.
Fucking finally.
He doesn’t even have to look up. Sam does a small glide to the ground, landing gracefully beside him.
Bucky finds you speechless but straightened up from your earlier posture.
“Buck,” Sam greets him.
“Sam,” he says in return, getting up from his place.
A grin spreads across your face. “Mr. Sam Wilson. No way.”
“You’re Y/N, I’m assuming?” Sam offers, posture relaxed. He clearly wasn’t here to fight.
“The one and only.” You tear your eyes away from Sam to glare at Bucky. “Barnes, if you had told me we were expecting guests, I would have dressed better.”
Bucky furrows his eyebrows in suspicion at you. You’d dress up for Sam.
You dressed up like a suburban tourist dad for him. He was feeling the offence incoming.
“Can’t count on him to be useful in any situation.” Alright, he did not call Sam just to have the both of you team up against him.
“Normally I’d agree with you but he did just invite you here, so...” you trail off, looking at Sam expectantly.
What the shit.
Sam smirks. Bucky switches rapidly back and forth between the both of you.
“I see why Buck keeps coming back every week.” It doesn’t take long for him to catch on, enlisting a feeling of triumph from you.
“I can’t see why he doesn’t just stay at home everyday if this is the view.” You gesture to him.
This is not what Bucky wanted.
“Okay,” Bucky interrupts, “what is going on here?”
“Pure chemistry, I’d say.” You’re half tempted to bite your lip to seal the deal.
“I agree.” Sam just nods, completely and utterly serious.
You think that you’ll give him a gift basket just for playing along despite meeting you for the first time at that moment.
“Get a room.” Bucky rolls his eyes.
“Maybe we will.” You tap your finger against your lip in thought. “How do you feel about Indian food, Sam?”
“Very positively.”
Bucky grits his teeth. “If you’re not planning to spray paint the Tower, can you just hand over the repulsers so we can go home for the day?”
You let out a small tsk in disapproval. “See what I have to deal with?”
“Can’t imagine how you do it every weekend,” Sam says dryly, not wasting a second in replying.
“Hello?” Bucky waves his arm around. “She’s the villain here.”
“Your face is the villain here.” You tear your eyes away from Sam only to glare at him. “He won’t even wear a cape. Why am I the only one who brings their A-Game every week?”
“Sam just get the damn-”
“You should wear a cape, man.” Bucky’s absolutely sure that even Sam knows it’s a ridiculous idea.
“I’m not wearing a fuckin’ cape,” he grumbles.
“What are your thoughts on swords, then?” Your finger finds a place under your chin in deep contemplation. “You’d look great with a sword.”
Bucky buries his face in his palms. “Sam, for the love of God.”
“Okay, alright.” Sam finally gives in with a small chuckle. He runs a few steps to get a small head start before launching himself into the air, whizzing past your levitating figure. He does a neat little flip midair before matching your height.
Showoff.
“How difficult are you gonna make this, Wilson?” you ask, a smirk on your face.
“Jesus Christ.” Bucky exhales, looking at the both of you through his goggles.
“What’s your play here?” Sam calls out loudly.
“Was gonna spray paint ‘asshole’ on the side of the Tower.”
“After the ‘A’?”
“After the ‘A’,” you confirm.
“Now that’s too small,” Sam tutted. “You gotta think bigger. Paint the whole Tower.”
“Sam!” Bucky looks horrified.
“Hmm.” You look like you’re considering it. “Don’t have enough paint for that though.”
“You’re an evil genius, right?” Sam casts a small glance at Bucky. “At least that’s what he tells me.”
“You talk about me?” You grin at the disgruntled man on the ground.
“I don’t,” he mutters, shaking his head. A lie.
“Yeah, so build something,” Sam points out. “Get some more paint. I’ll even tell you the best vantage points to spill it.”
“No, he won’t,” Bucky shouts from below.
“He’s just cranky because he didn’t get his prune juice this morning, ignore him,” Sam dismisses him.
Prune juice? He was a young 100, not ancient.
“What’s your favourite colour, Falcon?”
“I like red.”
As annoyed as Bucky is right now, he stores that away in his memory for later. He also knows Sam loves seafood and a good pair of shoes.
“A couple of gallons of red paint it is, then.” You lower yourself to the ground, Sam slowly follows suit until he lands beside Bucky.
“You know we can’t let you go without taking those, right?” Bucky tilts his head towards your invention.
You narrow your eyes at him. He doesn’t budge.
“I’ll tell ya what,” Sam pipes in instead. “I’ll keep them until you finish getting the paint and once you’re done, we’ll make an evening out of vandalising the Tower.”
Bucky may not enjoy his company all that much but he admires Sam’s diplomacy. Of course, you would never make it this easy while reasoning with him.
“That a promise, Mr. Wilson?” You raise your eyebrow at him questioningly but are already in the process of removing the things from your hand.
“Wouldn’t ever lie to you, doll.” He holds up his hand in a mock swear.
You walk towards Bucky and him, rotating your wrists to get rid of the soreness. “Bold claim for a man who met me ten minutes ago.”
“Feels like it’s been longer.” He sends you a wink and you can’t stop the laugh the escapes from you finally.
Bucky holds his hand out for the gadgets. You shrink away from him with a click of your tongue.
“Technically, he takes this round.” You send a nod towards Sam, dropping off the repulsors into his hand. “So he gets it.”
Bucky rolls his eyes.
“You gonna keep ‘em safe?” you ask Sam, this time a little more earnestly.
“Guard it with my life,” he says seriously, pressing his lips together in a line to avoid smiling.
“You’re both ridiculous,” Bucky cuts in.
“You’re going to be late.” Sam tucks the devices into his pocket safely. “You know how Steve gets when people walk in on his speeches. Do you even have a ride?”
“Got the motorcycle.”
“See you there.” Sam nods.
“Save me a place,” Bucky says to him.
“No.” He doesn’t even hesitate. “Y/N. It was a pleasure.”
“Still holding you to that evening, Sam.” You send him a smile.
“I’m countin’ on it.” He gives you a small three finger salute before taking off, leaving you staring after his retracting figure.
When the dust settles, Bucky awkwardly clears his throat. “Right. So that was that.”
“Dude,” you let out an exhale. “he’s so hot.”
He murmurs something unintelligible. It vaguely sounds like a series of threats but mostly a list of complaints.
“Don’t you have a meeting to get to?” You turn your attention back to him.
“Yeah.”
“Aren’t you going to be late?” You glance at the clock on your phone.
“I’ll just tell them I was on a mission.” Well, sort of. “Besides, what are they gonna do? Kick me out?”
“Fair enough.” You shrug. “Have a safe ride back.”
From what he knows of you and Sam, the both of you were kidding around. But he could never be too sure. He can’t even ask if you were serious about the entire thing because it’s none of his business.
Were the implications of having his mortal nemesis and other mortal nemesis date important enough to overrule that?
“Are you planning to skip your meeting, or?” you ask when he remains freezes in his spot, eyes glazed over like he’s thinking about something. “Because if you are, I know this great Thai place-”
“Don’t do that again,” he says instead, shaking his head to jolt him out of his thoughts.
“What?”
“Flinging yourself off roofs like that.”
“Why?” Because it scared the hell out of him, for one.
“Just don’t.”
“Oh please, like you’ve never done dangerous shit like that before.” You narrow your eyes at him, reading his face. “Are you telling me you care about me?”
“No.” His nose twitches. “Just don’t throw yourself off buildings when I’m around.”
“What about when you’re not?”
“As long as I’m not there to witness it.” He shrugs, spinning on his heel to leave. Technically he preferred if you didn’t do things like that at all.
“Fine. I’ll just have my clone try out all the dangerous stuff for me.”
He stops in his tracks. “You have a clone?”
“Well,” You squint, “no. But I’m working on it.”
He scoffs, shaking his head. “Bye Y/N.”
“You know, it sounds an awful lot like you’re saying we’re friends.” Your whole demeanour changes and he already knows what’s coming.
“I never said that,” he argues vehemently. “All I said was that I can’t have your murder on my hands.”
“Thus implying that we’re friends. In a fucked up, enemies kind of way.” You positively beam at him. “Aw, Barnes, that’s adorable.”
Adorable? Adorable?
“I hate you.”
“I love you, too, bestie,” you gush, dumb grin on your face. “I’ll make us friendship rings next time. What are your thoughts on matching tattoos?”
He wants to cry.
______
By the time Sam walks into the meeting room, the session’s already begun. He shoots an apologetic look to a monologuing Steve before taking his place at the nearest chair available.
Something sharp pokes his thigh. His wings are off and in the backpack beside him, but then he remembers your little inventions that were still in his pocket.
He tries not to make much of a noise while he pulls them out, giving them a look over to make sure they’re not broken.
“Watcha got there, Big Bird?” Tony asks lowly from beside him.
“Something that Barnes’ enemy made.” Sam holds it up slightly.
“The one he’s been rendezvousing around town with every weekend?”
“That’s her.” He’s about to put it in his backpack when Tony stops him.
“Pass that here for a second.” He recognises it immediately for what it is, interest piqued.
Sam hands one of them over while he puts the other back in the bag. It’s a metallic circle, not bigger than Tony’s palm, with a thick leather strap to tie it around your palm.
“She made this?”
“Why don’t you ask him?” Sam mentions towards Bucky who silently slips into the conference room, standing in the corner near the potted plant since there were no more chairs left.
“The balance has gotta be off on this thing,” he mutters to himself, wholly ignoring the brooding man standing in the corner like a Christmas tree.
“She seemed to be manoeuvring it fine,” Sam catches the eye of a lower ranking agent who makes the mistake of glaring at him for talking while the meeting was going on. A few seconds later the agent hastily looks away and doesn’t turn around for the rest of the hour.
“Could be better.” He uses a much more intricate model for his suits, although this isn’t even half-bad for a homemade version. “Do you know how long she took to make this?”
“Buck says she comes up with a new one every week, so I’m guessing that long.”
It had a few glitches but it was incredibly refined for a week’s worth of work.
“Interesting.” He gives it a quick overlook before handing it back to Sam who drops it into the bag.
He casts a swift glance at Bucky, noting how he wasn’t even paying attention to the meeting but rather to whatever he had tied around his metal wrist, fidgeting with it with his thumb.
Tony has an idea.
And that was generally bad news.

Pairing: The Bad Batch x Reader (Polyam)
Summary: You make the weapons drop with the Batch, then Omega’s new friend try to rope you all into the a new problem
Warning: none really, some angst, some fluff, TBB spoilers
Word Count: 1812
pt xv pt xvii
XXXXXXX
You and Omega were examining the multiple weapons the Batch was assigned to give Gobi Glie.
“Why does Gobi Glie need all this again?”
“Many people aren’t very welcoming towards the Empire.”
“But you said he was famous as a freedom fighter and the Empire hasn’t been around for that long… does that mean he was still fighting before that?”
You nodded, placing a blaster down and looking at her, “A lot of twi’leks were taken from their homes and put into slavery.”
“But didn’t the Republic enforce that liberation act all those years ago?”
“Yes, but only in the systems in the Republic, there are those in the outer rim and the Confederacy of Independent Planets that it didn’t apply to.”
“Oh,” Omega sat back in one of the seats, “Like Caetum?”
You nodded, picking up another blaster and examining it. Of course it still bothered you that the Empire had taken over Caetum and treated your people poorly.
“Y’know… the rest of the batch never really talked about you. I’ve only heard them murmur in their sleep… I asked once, but they all went silent. You… you were a slave once, weren’t you?”
You hesitated before nodding with a small hum.
“It’s nothing to be ashamed of, Lodestar.”
You looked at her with a smile before closing the weapons case and standing up. You then walked into the cockpit as Tech steered the ship, approaching the moon’s surface. There was a ship waiting already and you went to get your helmet.
“We’re reaching Ryloth, Omega.” You announced before you put your helmet on, so she nodded and went to the gunner’s mount to grab something. The ship then landed, so you opened the hatch to make it easier for the boys to move the weapons cases off the Marauder. You watched as they approached the awaiting twi’leks and eyed a much younger one with them. Omega must’ve seen her too because her head cocked up slightly as the young twi’lek approached the ship, admiring it.
“What kind of ship is this?” The young twi’lek wondered.
“It’s a modified Omicron Class Attack Shuttle.” Omega replied.
“Can I have a look inside?”
Omega looked at you, so you looked over to Hunter, who nodded gently. You looked down at her with a small nod so she got up and went in the ship with the girl at her tail. You stayed at the threshold of the hatch while the Batch talked with Gobi Glie. After a bit of conversation, Hunter turned to you and flicked his head to call you over. You stepped down from the ship and went to the small group, bowing your head shortly in greeting.
“This is our colleague: Lodestar.” Hunter introduced.
The twi’leks’ eyes widened slightly as they looked at you.
“You are Lodestar? The one who freed slaves in the Western Reaches?”
You nodded gently, “Sadly, my time of freeing has come to a delay.” You stated, your voice filtered by the modulator in your helmet.
“We understand. That is why we are here. The Empire has a… corrupt vision. Many on Ryloth do not want to be a part of it.”
You nodded, turning to see Omega and the young twi’lek exiting the ship. They rushed over and Omega stood by your side.
“Alright, we must get going. Thank you for making this drop. It was an honor meeting you all. Especially you, Lodestar.” Gobi Glie held out his hand and you grasped his forearm as he grasped yours in mutual respect. You urged Omega to follow her brothers and she waved.
“Bye, Hera.”
“Goodbye, Omega.”
You took a moment, watching as their ship made its way back to Ryloth before heading into the Marauder. You closed the hatch, then took off your helmet and took a deep breath. Your head dipped back slightly as you released it while closing your eyes.
“What is it?” Echo’s hushed voice came from beside you, which caused you to look at him.
“I’m alright…”
“Don’t think I didn’t hear you in the ‘fresher last night, mesh’la. There is something on your mind…”
You gave him a weak smile before cupping his face, “Always so caring”
He reached his hand up to caress your arm, “You can tell me, my love.”
You took a moment before speaking, “I… I’m seen as this beacon of hope now… like how you all first saw me when I was just your communications officer…”
“Yes?”
“I hate to be the one to give people high expectations I cannot meet. To be the bringer of false hope…”
“There are some things we can and cannot do, mesh’la. You are just one person, you can’t change the course of one major thing like galactic liberation in one cycle… it takes time.”
You nodded, moving into his arms so he could embrace you, “I missed you, Eck.”
He chuckled, “I missed you too, mesh’la.”
You sighed gently, trying to make the hug last but not too long to delay him from any tasks. You finally let him go after another moment before he headed to the cockpit. Then you sat down as the ship left the moon’s orbit, setting course for Ord Mantell. Once it was safe to move around the cabin, you went towards the gunner’s mount to see what Omega was up to. You climbed the ladder carefully so as not to make too much noise. You popped your head up into the compartment and saw her close to the window, knees to her chest, pushing D-5 away from her as he rolled back as if it were a game of tag. You laughed gently as you made your way fully into the mount which caught her attention.
“That used to be my spot.”
“S-s-s-star!” D-5 bonked your arm and you pushed him back towards Omega, who smiled weakly before looking away, brows knitting together. You cocked your head in worry, moved closer to her, and placed a hand on her shoulder.
“What’s wrong?”
“I dunno… I just…”
You caressed her hair gently, “Feelin’ a bit lonely?”
“Yeah.” Omega sighed.
“Never really around anyone your age... must’ve been nice meeting Hera.”
“Yeah. It was.”
You smiled and wrapped your arm around her, “I understand. I lived on Kamino for nearly 10 years and I was only surrounded by Kaminoans and clones. There was barely anyone like me unless the Jedi or any senators were visiting..” You chuckled, “This past year was odd because everyone didn’t look the same.”
Omega laughed gently with a nod, leaning into you. You smiled before leaving a gentle kiss on her head.
“Don’t worry, Omega. There’s a whole Galaxy to explore… more people will cross our path.”
She nodded with a hum before speaking, “For now… this is good.”
“Yeah.” You whispered.
The two of you stayed there, talking with each other. You were telling her a story about one of the first foodfights you witnessed as their communications officer.
“I can’t believe Tech was the one who started it!” Omega giggled and you nodded.
“Trust me, I was just as shocked. But then Wrecker took the lead and the others followed after him.”
She laughed gently, but then Hunter called to the both of you from the cockpit. You looked at her in confusion, but she shrugged before heading out of the gunner’s mount with you. You entered the cockpit with her and saw a hologram of the young twi’lek, Hera. Omega approached, trying to listen to the transmission.
“Omega, it’s Hera! The Empire has taken my parents, and they are after me now too. I’m sending coordinates. Please, hurry. I need your help.”
Hunter paused the transmission and looked to Omega, “You gave her our comm channel?”
“For emergencies--and that sounded pretty urgent. We have to go!”
“Perhaps the situation isn’t as dire. Children often overreact.”
“No we don’t! You heard her, she needs us!”
Hunter placed a hand on her shoulder, “Omega… it’s a big galaxy. We can’t put ourselves on the line every time someone’s in trouble.”
“Why not?” Omega questioned, “Isn’t that what soldiers do?”
You looked at Hunter with a small smile as he looked at her in slight shock. You then looked back at Omega and urged her to come to you before crouching down as she stood in front of you.
“Omega, you know I understand your concern more than anyone… we’ll go to Ryloth, but if something happens and we can’t help, then you know what we have to do.”
She looked at you for a moment before determination filled her eyes, “We’ll be able to help. I know it.”

The Havoc Marauder landed in a secluded part of the valley, which was filled with cargo. You all filed out of the ship and looked around.
“What is this place?” Wrecker wondered.
“I think it’s a base… probably something Gobi Glie established.” You explained.
There was then a sudden commotion and you looked to see a C1 astromech droid approaching, waving it’s extensions around frantically.
“What’s his problem?” Wrecker asked as it approached Omega.
“Thank you for coming.” Hera approached you all, “I wasn’t sure you would.”
“You said you were in trouble.” Omega responded.
“Care to tell us why the Empire is after you?” Hunter butt in.
“Because my father is Cham Syndulla.”
Tech looked up from his datapad and pushed his goggles up, “The freedom fighter?”
“Yes… this was his old command outpost. It’s where I’ve been hiding. The Empire’s begun targeting anyone loyal to him.”
“What do you want us to do?” Echo finally spoke up.
“Free my parents from the capital. That’s where they’re being held.”
Everyone looked to each other concerned, which caused Hera to become more desperate.
“They can pay you if you get them out! Please? I don’t have anyone else to ask…” She then turned to you, “You are the famous Lodestar. My father and Gobi were talking about you. Many of the twi’leks know of you because you have helped many of our kin… they would be forever grateful.”
You turned your head slightly to Hunter, who looked at you. You still had your helmet on, but you knew he could tell what you were considering. Then Omega went to Hera’s side and gave her a nod.
Hunter let out a small sigh before speaking, “Let’s see what we’re up against first, but no guarantees.”
Omega and Hera smiled, but you took off your helmet then looked at Omega. You approached the two girls and smiled sadly.
“Omega… remember what I said on the ship.”
She nodded, “I know.”
You looked to Hera, “As I told Gobi… I am not that liberator anymore. The Empire knows about me also, so it isn’t as safe for me to do things like that anymore.”
Hera nodded. You all then headed towards the Capitol.
