          it hits you where it hurts the most ,  being told you're not wanted like that ...  he's never said that before ,  a look of surprise on your face even while you're trying not to let it bother you too much .  he doesn't mean it ...  right ?  he wouldn't   /   you shouldn't hold it against him ,  you say a lot of things you don't mean when you're drunk and sad ,  so you try to push down the sudden thoughts that he's gotten sick of you .

she smiles at him, tongue caught between her teeth with an expression that's just shy of impish. ❝ i'm not entirely convinced you're not still sloshed. ❞

glasses pushed on top of her head as she turns to face him fully. she's not nursing a headache at the moment, but she doesn't feel good. ❝ they do look good, though, i'll give ya that. ❞

still caught in the haze of almost kissing him i forget that i'm supposed to be answering the phone. " i'm not ghosting my babysitter. i just ... lost track of time. " i can feel my face turning red but i can't help it when he's that close. " chris has been in bed this entire time anyway so she's going to be paid extra for doing nothing. she has the easiest job in the world cause once that kid is out he's out. " i pull my phone out of my pocket finally and answer it. my hand finding skunk's as i do just to have something to do with my hand because i hate talking on the phone especially right now when i'm this drunk.

when all she wants is to make sure i wasn't dead in a ditch somewhere it doesn't help that voice in my head that sounds exactly like my mother telling me to be more responsible. i am. chris is safe and taken care of. i'm there when he wakes up for school and i always pick him up from school, i have a deal with the boss that my shift doesn't start until chris is in bed. it's more than they ever did for me and my sisters. my son is taken care of, barely knows anything about what is going on right now yet it doesn't feel like enough because helena diaz wouldn't approve.

but fuck it. who cares.

the kiss causes me to catch my breath the same way it would've if the same heat of the moment kiss i wanted to have. he just does that to me. i blink and see the most prettiest eyes and the person those eyes belong to is talking about how excited he is to meet my most favorite person in the world. " you have pretty eyes, you know. " my hand comes up to hold his chin between my fingers, i tilt my head and smile softly. " i don't just let anyone meet him and he's gonna ask me what you are to me because he's nosy. so i was thinkin' i would call you my boyfriend. if you're cool with that. "

i'm not so sure that this is happening right now, that this isn't just some pbr - induced lucid dream. but eddie's hands feel warm against my arm, firm grasp keeping me from keeling over simply because eddie said he's falling for me and he really fucking means it. his breath puffs against my face and we're so damn close, and he's practically askin' me to be his fuckin' boyfriend. oh god, the band isn't gonna fucking believe this. my eyes blink, trying my best to read the expression on eddie's face. i can see his head tilting forward, so who am i to deny him? i lean forward, eyes fluttering shut as i move in to kiss his lips.

and then his fucking phone rings, causing me to freeze in place. but that's the babysitters ringtone, or at least i think it is, she'd called when i'd been around a few other times. then eddie confirms it is ( i'll reflect on the fact that i actually remembered that later ) and my brows furrow. instead of kissing him, i reach up to give him a playful smack across the shoulder. "edmundo, you have not been ghostin' your fuckin' babysitter this whole time have ya?"

he was an idiot, a kind, handsome, wonderful idiot that managed to make me feel all weak in the knees. i laugh, shaking my head from side to side. it's not the kiss i had braced myself for, but i lean forward to close the gap anyway, a chaste peck placed on his lips. "well lucky for you, kids fuckin' love me." because i'm not going back home yet. "it's actually pretty damn rude that i haven't met christopher yet. i mean c'mon, you've been pining for me for months, it's only fair!" like i hadn't been doing the same fuckin' thing.

the party had been sal's idea, but he volunteered tommy's place since he had the most space and the best kitchen. even though most of the food had been ordered from a local italian place.

tommy couldn't remember whose idea the mistletoe had been. he and sal were several beers in before anyone else even got to tommy's place. he vaguely remembered digging the fake ball of berries out of a box of decorations that his sister sent him after he settled in la.

he hadn't realized he was standing under it with howie until sal elbowed his way past to get to the kitchen. shit.

tommy admitted to howie, once upon a time, that one of his favorite movies was love actually and it was the first time someone didn't give him shit for it. now, with gerrard gone, things at the 118 were different. lighter. tommy felt as if a weight was slowly being lifted from his shoulder. he was more comfortable in his skin and who he was.

all of that to say, tommy loved christmas. and he loved romance.

his skin is warm from too many drinks and he feels more of that weight easing from his back and he knows that he has a decision to make. blue eyes lift toward the hanging bundle before looking back down at howie, brows raised.

"rules are rules," he mused, feeling bolder than he had been in a long time. "but i don't want to make you uncomfortable."

the dash has been so negative lately, so many drama posts and vagues and people having a rough go in their personal lives as well. it makes me so sad to see everyone else so sad! so, i thought i'd shout out some mutuals that i love and adore to just spread a bit of positivity and brighten some peoples days! i will not be writing a big message for each individual tagged person, as i suck at giving diverse appreciation and everything would end up sounding the same. so basically, anyone who is tagged in this: i love you, i adore you, you are fucking amazing at everything you do. you are a delight on my dash, a delight in my life, and i feel so privileged to have you in it. i hope that you have an amazing day, and i hope you know that you matter and this space would not be the same without you. so many hugs and kisses!

          She's surprised by the compliment—Sally hadn't anticipated anyone would notice the change in her hairstyle. Really, it's just down when it's usually pulled back halfway with a claw clip. Sally flushes, a bashful, soft smile curving her lips up as she ducks her head.     ❛❛   Oh, You think so?   ❜❜     She laughs softly, glancing up and tucking her hair behind her ear. 

          She comes here a lot- Jan & Joe's Fromagerie and Patisserie is easily one of her favorite places to go. She has a massive sweet tooth, so she likes to order chocolate muffins and mocha coffees... They're always a nice treat after a long day at work.
