A Danny Gets Summoned By Cult AU but heâs actually bound to their summoning and has to do everything heâs commanded to.
Small twist: heâs not the Ghost King. He has the power level he has in the TV show. Not Uber powerful, just a mid tier meta going rogue.
As the local heroes go to stop this rampage they see something off.
The apparition like being that just leveled a city block with his war cry and looks like heâs about to collapse is crying. Glowing green tears flow down his cheeks as heâs commanded to freeze civilians and create havoc. The only reason why heâs standing is because heâs bound by summoning magic to completely level the city and not stop until heâs completed his task.
At this rate if Phantom isnât stopped, he will fully die before the town is leveled.
#dpxdc#danny phantom#dp x dc#bones prompts#by city I mean millions live there.#not a lot of folks write things where the constraints on Dannyâs powers lead to plot in dpxdc so here u go

It's always interesting to hear about people's weird/unexpected "alternate life paths". Like, something that you could have done with your life, a job you almost took, a school you almost went to, etc - that was still actually realistic enough that it could have happened, but NOW it seems to not suit your current personality.
Like for example, I currently hate advertising (how manipulative it is, brands trying to be 'relatable', social media amplifying it to an obnoxious extreme, etc.) so much that even seeing a little ad before a youtube video is grating to even witness, but there was a point in time where I was genuinely seriously considering going into marketing/making commercials as a career lol. Or like, I have a relative who was very inclined to be a pastor when they were younger, even though today they're a super strong atheist, etc. etc.
#BECAUSE I knew I really liked filming and editing things and doing set design and costume design (from having done little bits of that#here and there in media classes and my own stuff - i used to be a lot more into making videos than I am now). BUT I was always thinking#that a movie is WAAY to big and long. even a short film. So I was trying to think of ways I could still like#have the fun of scouting locations to film and dressing up actors and etc. etc. without it having to be a Huge Million Dollar Production#on tv show or movie level. SO then I was thinking about like... just doing commercials. Or music videos. Like shorter things where I still#get the fun of the filming and everything but it's less of an intensive long term project.#So there is an alternate version of me (I suppose if i somehow did not end up having physical and mental health issues#as badly somehow.. or like.. randomly came into wealth and was able to pay my way through a nice college despite missing#days constantly being out because I'm sick or something lol) that works in some corporate advertising office coming up with commercials#and directing or filming them or doing the sets for them or something in that general vicinity.#I also was considering being a corporate psychologist. or whatever its called.. oh from google:#''Industrial and organizational (I/O) psychologists study and assess individual group and organization dynamics in the workplace''#I don't think I even knew what the job entailed. I was at the time just thinking like.. the type of person that comes into a business offic#and gives everyone personality assessments or does MBTI or big-5 testing crap for whatever reason that some businesses get that#done for people. Really i just wanted to be in a Corporate Big Office setting yet still do psychology. Because I used to be really fixated#on living in a big city. Like the ideas of everything being walkable. picking up a coffee in the morning. walking to my job in a Big#Skyscraper Building. people watching in a huge hotel lobby for lunch. flying frequently (I love airplanes and airports aesthetically).#living in an apartment with a giant window overlooking the city. etc. etc. BUT that was before i had really BEEN to a city. Then I actually#hung around a city a few times and went places and I was like... AUGh... The Sensory Overwhelm.. cars people lights loudness noise scary#everything happening all at once. etc. etc. (though even when I wanted to live in a city i NEVER strove for the Night Life. when i say I#enjoy city imagery I mean like... in the day time. Many people who like cities talk about The Night Life and post pictures of cities all#lit up at night and clubs and dancing and restaurants. none of that EVER appealed to me. perhaps a sign I am not a real city person. Like#I am NOT standing in a crowded bar full of loud people in the middle of the night lol.. get AWAY from me!!) but I do adore the#architecture of like bright white clean sterile modern spaces like huge airport lobbies or malls or etc. I think thats what reminded me of#city and what I liked about the idea of that life. Like I always LOVED the layout of schools and hospitals and trainstations and public#transport in general. Though even then I knew enough that I would not be a good architect/city planner. so I guess my adoration for those#spaces was merely to be channeled into LIVING there. but then I realized I didn't even really want to do that that much. I mean I still#definitely aim to live NEAR a city. like the little areas outside of it. I would never live in a rural place 4 hours from anything. I liter#ally just COULDNT since I need close access to hospitals sometimes lol. But I used to want to live in the CENTER of citites like high rise#condo. and now I'm like.... eh....... perhaps a smaller quieter walkable space nearby lol.. ANYWAY.. alternate me in my Business Suit eheh

AUGH. was planning a trip to a big city memorial museum i've never been to before bc all my school field trips and countless later visits were to the main art and history museum. i just looked up the memorial museum, and not only do they have a REALLY cool exhibit coming up concerning a topic i'm interested in, not only do they also have a really extensive archive that available to both academics and the public upon appointment, but volunteer opportunities are available for several positions in the museum including archival assistance!!!
it's administrative duties rather than archival management (which good, people need qualifications for that) but that's literally what i'm considering getting a degree in!!! so it's not only something i'd be passionate about if my application was accepted, but if i decide to commit and enroll this fall, then that would be getting experience in the field!
#also living history applications are available to ppl who have volunteered enough but i doubt i'd pass muster considering i look like a 13#year old boy if i pass lmao. and i'm not doing a living history role as a woman no matter how bad they might need it. so i'll pribably have#to pass on that but i'm still stupidly excited about the possibility of other volunteer work!!#i need to visit the museum and decide if i like it first before i even think about that and also factor in driving in big city traffic and#godawful streets (terrifying) or using our public transport system which i've never done before and have no idea how much it would be#just checked the price and yeah if i decide to do this i'm one million percent riding the bus idc if the route will take 45 mins to 2 hrs#i would happily spend two hours in a bus over 35 in a car having to fear for my life on the ride there. also NO PARKING POG!!!!#i may or may not post pics of my upcoming visit. oh who am i kidding i'm probably gonna post some and absolutely spam my friends with the#rest (anna this means u. i still adore ur museum pics). i also might get so entranced i forget to take any pictures which has happened#before when i get sucked into museums before lmao. we shall see#len speaks

really truly Feelings about coming back to my hometown and seeing it as an outsider (I only knew it as a child with my motion constrained by school and parents and being under 18) and an outsider (it's changed since I've been away these last 8 years) and an outsider (showing it to my partner and finding it both familiar and unfamiliar, and special and inadequate) and an outsider (my parents and sister have all moved and my childhood home is no longer mine - staying in a building with a door code to learn and furniture still being moved in) and an outsider (my favorite places have changed, moved, closed, repainted) and an outsider (new murals! new buildings! new bike lanes) and an outsider (how the Fuck do the bike lanes on the east bank connect) and an outsider (it's changed [you can never step in the same river twice] and I have too)
#i think I need to make art about this#wanting to show off the things I love about it and realizing so much of that love is for the mundane details and tiny quotidian things#seeing people in the bike lanes and feeling the pang of just Being Around People Enjoying the Outdoors#how much fun you can have for free#at the same time not having lived here at all as an adult#i don't know the public transit here! i biked when it wasn't snowy and when it was snowy i was in school til like 9 pm#i don't know the flashy fun city things i know where me and my cousins would go to have a pretzel and maybe a beer and play board games#i know where u can do martial arts for cheap and fun but that's not a nice day out to show someone it's part of being there for months#years#i know where you can get food at 1 AM but they've moved#i don't know dinkytown or any of the north side#i want to show you how good it was to be a kid here in the summer but we're not kids anymore#i want you to feel the same pang of love when passing my best friend's childhood home#ALSO!!!! saw california friends/acquaintances in the home they bought together with dual software engineer california salaries#living in MN making CA money#a huge huge 3-story-plus-basement million-plus dollar home since that means something here#you're 28 what the fuck are you doing with a nicer house than anyone I knew here ever had#'this is what you get with CA money in mpls' yeah i fucking know actually except I don't make SWE money and I don't live here anymore#i know some local mechanical engineers who have got starter homes at like 300k a few years out of school.#that's like. good for them.#anyway I'm leaving the city today and still just feeling Things about it

sometimes i wish WoW would make a show that just kinda goes back to the beginning and tells the story in a way thats way more accessible than trying to navigate a game thats stuck in various capsules of time from the last 20 years (not to mention lore thats in completely other games or other mediums entirely)
and since theyd have so much to go over, they wouldnt exactly run into the issue of hitting the present unless they were spitting out the stories at a concerningly fast rate lol
and that idk every season or few seasons is the expansions or games or idfk like it would be a lot more to consider but like, actually giving the stories the time they would take to be told yknow. and it would kinda work since a lot of the stuff that happens is pretty interconnected anyway.
and it would also let them probably try to fix some story stuff people didnt like lol
obv it would be way more complicated than just 1:1 translating it over, cause telling a story made for a game is much different than telling a story in the form of a show
also since the player character is often meant to be part of the story, i wonder if theyd have to make a character(characters?) for it, or if theyd find a way around it since that would be, imo, a big topic to try to write in. like theres a lot more decisions there than just making a guy and plopping them into the narrative
also i would NOT want it to be live action or even realistic animation lol i would want it to be stylized animation ONLY. especially since they have a good art style going in the game, at least i think so. ive heard people say that it looks bad, but i really dont see how. if its expensive though, i can understand if that wasnt the route taken
idk i have a lot of thoughts, not to mention its not like shows based on games are seen as the worst thing ever anymore with things like the success of arcane, though theyre obviously very different games and would be very different shows
also they did try to make a movie. i never saw it, and i saw some pretty mixed reviews on it, but the point is that they did try to tell a story in that sortve way before, though they were waaay too expensive about it with the movie LOL. also again, a movie and a show are still very different ways of writing a story
#my post#seeing the way that stormwind looks in the movie drives me insane though ITS ACTUALLY THE SIZE OF A CITY WOOOOOOO#ive known for a while that everything in WoW is meant to be like. probably 1000x bigger than it is LMAO#but its so much harder to actually imagine that.#i mean. from top to bottom eastern kingdoms is something like 8-9 miles long in-game#thats smaller than the distance between where i live and the fuckin heart of downtown of my city#actually its way smaller then that. which is wild#if there was a road along the eastern kingdoms it would take me like 15 minutes to drive it lmaoo#my point is that they could make such a bigger and more fleshed out world yknow.#show things like stormwind being massive but in a way that doesnt cost them over 160 million$ LOL#i know warcraft likes to flex its realistic animation. and hey i think it looks really impressive#but visuals are not only what makes a story. it does make a way too big budget though#sorry its so easy to make fun of that#i doubt theyd ever actually do it or like. if they did it that theyd somehow fuck it up#because its blizzard.#but a guy can dream#world of warcraft#I ALSO DONT THINK THEYRE THE WORST AT TELLING A STORY AND I KNOW THATS A HOT TAKE. BUT I SPEAK MY TRUTH

Racism is alive and well in America
This Juneteenth as we celebrate and reflect on the progress we've made and look to what we can do to improve equal rights for black folks I want to bring attention to an issue far too closet to my heart- environmental racism.
I had a friend who died, far too young. It's been many years so newer tumblr users won't know him. His name was james and he was a popular tumblr user when he was alive @kumagawa . I idolized him like an older brother, and still do. He lived in Flint, Michigan. He was around 27 when he died. He was a healthy man, other than the fact he lived with dirty water in Flint, Michigan.
I'll never fucking forgive the US government for killing my friend, my brother. Why did James die? Because Flint, Michigan is 56% Black. Because it would be expensive to fix the lead pipes that gave my friend lead poisoning and killed him.
As of April 24,2024 the city of Flint, Michigan still hasn't replaced all the lead pipes that are poisoning the people living there.
https://www.aclumich.org/en/press-releases/residents-still-waiting-city-flint-replace-all-lead-pipes-10-year-anniversary-water
If you can help, give money to Mari Copeny's go fund me.
Mari Copeny, better known as Little miss Flint, is now 16 years old and over the past few years has raised nearly a million dollars for her community.
She has a website to links for other ways to support the community
Please reblog this post if you can't give any money... It would mean the world to me if I could use my friend's memory to help promote environmental racism and the issues still facing his community today.

one of the things i love the most about dsmp is the fact that no one has the same version of it. the most obvious example is which streamer's POV you watched, but it goes way beyond that because mcrp requires a level of suspension of disbelief and also of filling in the gaps, fleshening things out, in order to make it usable for fancontent.
for example, the fact that apart from the minecraft skin there is no actual guideline for how to see the characters, hence the dsmp creaturification of fan designs we've been over a million times. but it's not just that!!
the fandom also has so many different relations to time in the dsmp. some take the canon timeline but then you run into problems like c!fundy's age â so then either he's actually a 20 year old that c!wilbur adopted and treats like a baby, or perhaps fox hybrids have a very abrupt exponential growth spurt, or perhaps l'manberg wasn't a few months but a few years!
and then this brings into question the matter of scale â how populated is the server? is it truly only the actual streamers/characters, and so when we talk about a "war" do we really just mean like 10 people fighting each other with swords? or perhaps there's a couple dozen, unnamed, background characters? and i've seen people increase the scale even more! make l'manberg a real, albeit obviously small and budding, country-city of a few hundred inhabitants, that perhaps grows into a lifesize scale fortified city during new l'manberg.
and then everything takes on such a different tone. if theres 30 people on the server, the final control room was a betrayal and destruction of friendships, november 16th was the grief and anger for a friend and the symbolic destruction of the country, and doomsday was another symbolic show of whose alliances everyone values, and the weariness of having to rebuild it. if there's a few thousand people? all of those were massacres.
how can we even be talking about the same characters when for some of us the worst they've done is blow up some houses with no cost of lives, and for others they have razed to the ground actual nations? depending on how you read it and how much you flesh it out, dsmp is either mainly about symbols and interpersonal relationships, or it can be some game of thrones shit. it's completely fucking mental. i'm so in love with it

Proud Boys Lose Control of Their Name to a Black Church They Vandalized
The Proud Boys no longer have control over their own name. Under a ruling by a Washington judge on Monday, the infamous far-right group was stripped of control over the trademark âProud Boysâ and was barred from selling any merchandise with either its name or its symbols without the consent of a Black church in Washington that its members vandalized. In June 2023, the church won a $2.8 million default judgment against the Proud Boys after the organizationâs former leader, Enrique Tarrio, and several of his subordinates attacked it in a night of violence after a pro-Trump rally in December 2020.
The ruling by the judge, Tanya M. Jones Bosier of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, effectively means that Proud Boys chapters across the country can no longer legally use their own name or the groupâs traditional symbols without the permission of the church that was attacked, the Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church. The ruling also clears the way for the church to try to seize any money that the Proud Boys might make by selling merchandise like hats or T-shirts emblazoned with their name or with any of their familiar logos, including a black and yellow laurel wreath. In a lengthy statement, Mr. Tarrio said the church should have its nonprofit status revoked and Judge Bosier should be impeached. âTheir actions are a betrayal of justice,â he wrote, adding, âI hold in contempt any motions, judgments and orders issued against me.â The initial judgment against the Proud Boys determined that Mr. Tarrio and other members of the group had climbed over a fence surrounding the church, which is just blocks from the White House, and burned a Black Lives Matter banner it was flying. The episode took place after a violent clash between supporters and critics of President Trump. The church called the Proud Boysâ actions âacts of terrorâ in its lawsuit and said they had been meant âto intimidate the church and silence its support for racial justice.â A judge agreed, calling the Proud Boysâ conduct âhateful and overtly racist.â When the Proud Boys failed to turn over any money, lawyers for the church sought to satisfy the judgment by seizing control of the trademarked name and by enjoining the group from âselling, transferring, disposing of or licensingâ any merchandise using the words âProud Boysâ or any of the organizationâs symbols.
The ruling was handed down as the Proud Boys were riding high after Mr. Trump, in one of his first official acts in his return to the White House, included Mr. Tarrio and several of his lieutenants in his sweeping act of clemency to all of the nearly 1,600 people prosecuted in connection with the attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Mr. Tarrio, who was serving a 22-year prison term on charges of seditious conspiracy, received a full and unconditional pardon from Mr. Trump. His four co-defendants had their own prison terms commuted to time served. The banner-burning episode had a dramatic effect on the events of Jan. 6. It led to Mr. Tarrioâs arrest on vandalism charges as he returned to Washington on Jan. 4, 2021. As part of the case brought against him, he was kicked out of the city and was in Baltimore when his subordinates took part in the storming of the Capitol. On the night the banner was burned, another Proud Boys leader, Jeremy Bertino, was stabbed on the street during a clash with leftist counterprotesters. One lingering effect of that episode was that it turned the Proud Boys against the police after years of having troublingly close relationships with officers across the country. Another was that Mr. Bertino eventually became a government witness and testified against his compatriots at the trial of Mr. Tarrio and his co-defendants.

Dreading the thought of how many people from Gen Z and Gen Alpha are going to at least feel softer towards Trump for restoring TikTok, if not outright deciding that he and the GOP might not be that bad.
Y'all.
The GOP is terrible. They hate women, they hate POC, they hate queer people, they want to eject millions of people from this country, and even if you don't care about how horribly devastating it'll be for them to have to go back to countries where they will literally be murdered, and how horribly that will affect their families who are allowed to stay, keep in mind that they pick all our fruits and vegetables, which will now wither on the vine. Republicans aren't going to do a thing about climate change and will in fact implement policies that will speed it up, which means more devastating hurricanes, more wildfires that wipe out entire cities, more risk of frozen diseases coming back because of the melting icecaps, entire cities that are soon to be drowned, also because of the melting icecaps, and places near the equator becoming uninhabitable. I actually live in a city that, due to climate change, will become uninhabitable in a hundred years.
The point is, yeah sure, Trump might bring your favorite app back. But that doesn't mean he isn't terrible. Please don't forget that.

I found and read this cute story on AO3, about Frostbite being Danny's legal parental guardian. In the story Bruce Wayne runs into Frostbite (in his full yeti glory no disguise) who is setting up for school bake sale. Got me thinking about what if Danny's past rogues took turns filling in and doing parental stuff especially at school functions. Like Frostbite does the bake sale, Pandora shows up for his games, Ghostwriter goes to all of the PTA meetings, Clockwork goes to teacher meetings, so on and so forth.
The 43rd Annual Gotham Academy Bake Sale by Faeriekit
Ohhh, that sounds good! I'll get it a read when I have some time. Thank you for the rec!
Danny Fenton is one of the lucky few who have a very involved household. His various family members would always sign up for any school event the boy needed support in. It didn't mean that the boy won everything, but as a teacher for nine years, Emily has come to learn how much it mattered to just have someone show up.
She had seen students whose entire faces light up after spotting someone in the crowd in the same amount she saw a student's hope crumble after they scanned the room.
Danny was a polite young man, a bit on the shyer side, but kind and not a troublemaker, his previous school had her believe. If anything, he seemed to struggle with fitting in, but no students blatantly disliked him.
The general opinion of Danny matched, as her students would say, "I know him from class, but I don't really talk to him. He seems cool though".
Maybe that's why so many people were supposed by his family to march into the auditorium during Danny's talent show. Seeing him wave at the row before starting his gymnastic act had been such a surprise.
Now, Gotham wasn't a close-knit community, not with the size of their city and the millions of people living within it, but everyone would have noticed that Danny was adopted.
After all, he was the only one that wasn't glowing or a large humanoid animal. They cheered the loudest among the crowd; uncaring Danny got bronze- having lost to Joey's tapping dancing for second and Damian's spectacular multi-instrumental cover of a meme song for first place- and Danny beamed back at them.
Gotham was known for not being meta-friendly, but that was only due to a few mean people who shouted the loudest on media outlets. Many of Emily's students were meta, had family that were meta, or knew someone meta. It wasn't a common enough trait one would encounter a meta on every outing, but you would see them in Gotham well enough.
Everyone knew, but no one said it out loud. In the same way, she knew which students' parents were in the country illegally but worked harder than anyone else. Saying anything would help the cops, or worse, the rich running Gotham.
Even the most prejudiced Gothamite would rather be spat on then give them aid. And those who were so prejudiced to help the poor man's enemies, well, Emily has lived here long enough to know they vanished rather quickly. The smart ones kept their mouths shut.
No one could forget what happened to that guy who accidentally insulted Penguin. His grandmother had been an illegal immigrant on his mother's side.
No one messed with that side of the family.
"Hello, Mrs. Jackson." Danny's adoptive father, Dr. Frostbite said, ducking down to avoid banging his head on the door. On one of his shoulders was a box of hotdog wieners; on the other were multiple bags of bread. "I'm here for my snack bar shift."
Emily tilts her head back to look the Yeti in the eye. He had been shocked the first time they met, but she could admit that Dr. Frostbite was a relatively gentle and wise soul. "Welcome aboard. The girls are just about to take the field. You can put that down by the crock pot over there."
The mountain of white fur brushes by her with the grace of a king as Dr. Frostbite does as she says. There were no customers at the window, so she leaned on the counter and offered him a smile. "Did you enjoy the game?"
"Yes. I was saddened our team did not win, but Danny hit a home run." Dr. Frostbite's sharp smile could have been frightening if he wasn't oozing parental pride. "I caught it all on video."
Emily opens her mouth to respond when a hand lands loudly on the counter with a loud crack. Her heart leaps, and she looks into Danny's Ember. She isn't one of Emily's students, though she does appear to be a teenager in appearance.
You know. If it wasn't for her hair made of fire. Or her blue skin. Or her glow.
"I set a boy on fire," She announces with a cackle.
"That's so?" Dr. Frostbite gently rips open the box, taking out the hotdog packages. With one large claw, he rips a hole into it and lets the few weiners slide into the crockpot with a gentle splash. "What did he do?"
"Tried to slap me on the butt." She huffs, rolling her eyes, but her smirk doesn't lose an edge of smugness.
"Well done." Dr. Frostbite praises placing the lid back on. It always surprised Emily to see such careful actions from the large creature. "I assume you did so out of Pandora's line of sight?"
"Naturally. I don't want her lecturing me in front of the whole community." Ember scoffs, crossing her arms. Behind her, the top of Pandora's head can be seen swinging side to side over the dugout, keeping an eye on the ball.
She was the best volunteer referee because even the parents knew not to shout insulting things when she was present. Emily doesn't think she has had such peaceful games in a long while. Hopefully, Danny will try out again for baseball next year so the woman can return.
"Oh hey, you're Danny's English teacher, right? Mrs. Johnson?" Ember asks, leaning on the counter to give Emily a curious look.
When the blond nods, holding out her hand for a shake. "That's right. It's nice to see you again, Ember."
The girl's hair flairs a little as a grin grows on her face. Her hand is ice cold to the touch, but she's got a firm grip that her husband would appreciate. "Likewise. I got a message for you from Ghostwriter. He sent the notes for the last PTA meeting to you and the revision playwright for the musical you two were working on."
Emily's mood brightens up. "That's wonderful. Could you tell him I'll check it out when I get home and get to my laptop since my phone broke in the last Two-Face attack?"
Ember's hair flickers in the wind when she nods, but Danny bounces right up behind her just as she opens her mouth to speak. He's wearing his Gotham Acadamy Baseball uniform with pride despite them losing. "Hey, Frostbite, can I go with Tim and Duke to get Peoeria Pizza? We'll be back before the girl's game ends."
"Only if you take Ember with you," Dr.Frostbite says, nodding to his daughter, who looks alarmed to be included. "She needs more friends."
"Hey!"
"Sure. Come on, Ember, you'll get along with Duke. He likes old-school rock."
"It's not old-school!"
Emily laughs, watching the two siblings bicker as they stride away, blending into the crowd with no one batting an eye at the glowing girl anymore. How blessed that boy was.
"I'm glad Danny has gotten comfortable here. I always worried he never was going to have a normal childhood." Dr. Frostbite confesses to swirling the hotdogs around in the water to ensure each one is cooked.
"I think you and the rest are doing a wonderful job. You're a great father." She assures him, thinking wistfully of her William. He's been on deployment for a few months now and will likely miss the holidays again, but his contract is almost up. They may try for a child when he gets in the reserves. "How are things at the clinic?"
"Oh, wonderful. I'm grateful that Mr. Wayne has allowed the expansion of Thomas Wayne Memorial Clinic. Dr. Thompkins will be covering the east side of Gotham while I help those on the west. It's much more fulfilling than working in some hospital that demands funds for the silliest things. Back home, that would have been illegal. The people would have burned me at the stake if I had allowed anyone to pass away due to greed."
"My kind of people." She laughs. A sharp crack sounds from the field as the bat makes contact with the ball, and the crowd goes wild. It's a wonderful day.

barbados is a mindset
âYes. You are now in Barbados. And so⊠you see Barbados, and you see America from Barbados, and you can smell the tropical land of Barbados, see only the little homes of Barbados, and thatâs all you do. You just simply sleep this night in Barbados.â - Abdullah tells Neville.
Before Neville Goddard knew of the law and practiced it, his country was plunged in a state of instability. Poverty runs rampant as the global stock market crashes, sparking panic and leaving many penniless. Neville explained the vivid details of homeless people scattered all over tunnels and city square, eyes void of hope for the future. He was unemployed just like millions of others, his career as a dancer wasnât enough to support his living. Neville lived in a basement for years with little to no income until one day, he met his friend, Abdullah.Â
Abdullah was well-off and is the son of the US secretary of the Treasury, who served under the 32nd president. The differences between them were large and Neville was aware of it. He confided in his friend and told him that he has this haunting desire to visit Barbados again. The only thing that was stopping Neville though, was the lack of money. In which Abdullah says,Â
âYou are in Barbados.â
Of course, Neville thought he was nuts but the man decided to try and assume that he was in Barbados. That night, he went to sleep thinking that he would wake up in Barbados, only to be disappointed that he woke up in the cold basement he called his home. Neville would come back and tell Abdullah that it didnât work, only for the latter to ignore him. Despite that Neville kept persisting and on the morning of December, he got a letter from his older brother asking him to visit his family in Barbados â his brother had paid a third class ticket. Excited, Neville told Abdullah that he is going to Barbados however, his friend was unimpressed. Abdullah told Neville that he wasnât boarding a third class ticket, he was going to go there with a first class ticket.Â
And guess what? When Neville gave his ticket to the clerk by the desk as theyâre checking in passengers, they told him that someone canceled their first class ticket, therefore a spot was available for him.Â
Abdullah ignored Neville when he said âit didnât workâ because it did work, if Neville was assuming that he was in Barbados, they wouldnât be having this discussion about him not being there. What can you take from this story? I would say that unfortunate circumstances don't matter, especially when we see how bad and dire Nevilleâs financial situation was. Come on, he was in a country torn apart by war and poverty, yet he was still able to visit Barbados. Neville didnât think of how heâd get there, he just simply assumed that he was there, and his 3D reality follows right after.Â
Barbados is a mindset. If you can imagine yourself having it and then accept that it is yours, youâre at the end. Your assumption is the fetus, continue nourishing it with beliefs and affirmations â let that child grow and become. If you drop your assumption that basically means youâre neglecting the fetus, and it will eventually die from starvation.Â
It doesn't matter if you have no money, it doesn't matter if you're in an abusive situation, it doesn't matter that you barely have a roof over your head. You are already in Barbados, tune into your inner man and bask in that.
EDIT: My apologies for getting the information mixed up. Abdullah is not the son of US secretary, rather he lived in a house that was rented by the latter. Sorry for the confusion!

the thing is there's like, a point of oversaturation for everything, and it's why so many things get dropped after a few minutes. and we act like millennials or gen z kids "have short attention spans" but... that's not quite it. it's more like - we did like it. you just ruined it.
capitalism sees product A having moderate success, and then everything has to come out with their "own version" of product A (which is often exactly the same). and they dump extreme amounts of money and environmental waste into each horrible simulacrum they trot out each season.
now it's not just tiktokkers making videos; it's that instagram and even fucking tumblr both think you want live feeds and video-first programming. and it helps them, because videos are easier to sneak native ads into. the books coming out all have to have 78 buzzwords in them for SEO, or otherwise they don't get published. they are making a live-action remake of moana. i haven't googled it, but there's probably another marvel or starwars something coming out, no matter when you're reading this post.
and we are like "hi, this clone of project A completely misses the point of the original. it is soulless and colorless and miserable." and the company nods and says "yes totally. here is a different clone, but special." and we look at clone 2 and we say "nope, this one is still flat and bad, y'all" and they're like "no, totally, we hear you," and then they make another clone but this time it's, like, a joyless prequel. and by the time they've successfully rolled out "clone 89", the market is incredibly oversaturated, and the consumer is blamed because the company isn't turning a profit.
and like - take even something digital like the tumblr "live streaming" function i just mentioned. that has to take up server space and some amount of carbon footprint; just so this brokenass blue hellsite can roll out a feature that literally none of its userbase actually wants. the thing that's the kicker here: even something that doesn't have a physical production plant still impacts the environment.
and it all just feels like it's rolling out of control because like, you watch companies pour hundreds of thousands of dollars into a remake of a remake of something nobody wants anymore and you're like, not able to afford eggs anymore. and you tell the company that really what you want is a good story about survival and they say "okay so you mean a YA white protagonist has some kind of 'spicy' love triangle" and you're like - hey man i think you're misunderstanding the point of storytelling but they've already printed 76 versions of "city of blood and magic" and "queen of diamond rule" and spent literally millions of dollars on the movie "Candy Crush Killer: Coming to Eat You".
it's like being stuck in a room with a clown that keeps telling the same joke over and over but it's worse every time. and that would be fine but he keeps fucking charging you 6.99. and you keep being like "no, i know it made me laugh the first time, but that's because it was different and new" and the clown is just aggressively sitting there saying "well! plenty of people like my jokes! the reason you're bored of this is because maybe there's something wrong with you!"
#this was much longer i had to cut it down for legibility#but i do want to say i am aware this post doesnt touch on human rights violations as a result of fast fashion#that is because it deserves its own post with a completely different tone#i am an environmental educator#so that's what i know the most about. it wouldn't be appropriate of me to mention off-hand the real and legitimate suffering#that people are going through#without doing my research and providing real ways to help#this is a vent post about a thing i'm watching happen; not a call to action. it would be INCREDIBLY demeaning#to all those affected by the fast fashion industry to pretend that a post like this could speak to their suffering#unfortunately one of the horrible things about latestage capitalism as an activist is that SO many things are linked to this#and i WANT to talk about all of them but it would be a book in its own right. in fact there ARE books about each level of this#and i encourage you to seek them out and read them!!! i am not an expert on that i am just a person on tumblr doing my favorite activity#(complaining)#and it's like - this is the individual versus the industry problem again right because im blaming myself#for being an expert on environmental disaster (which is fucking important) but not knowing EVERYTHING about fast fashion#i'm blaming myself for not covering the many layers of this incredibly complicated problem im pointing out#rather than being like. yeah so actually the fault here lies with the billion dollar industries actually.#my failure to be able to condense an incredibly immense problem that is BOOK-LENGTH into a single text post that i post for free#is not in ANY fucking way the same amount of harm as. you know. the ACTUAL COMPANIES doing this ACTUAL THING for ACTUAL MONEY.#anyway im gonna go donate money while i'm thinking about it. maybe you can too. we can both just agree - well i fuckin tried didn't i#which is more than their CEOs can say

(đ·) . Ęâ âHOMEâ
â°â Seungcheol is your home; your comfort and happiness.
â đđ”. â đ ìčìČ Ë¶ fluff, est. rs, comfort * skinship, cheol being too real, petnames (baby, love, hun) âŻâŻ 1.9k ê± âŠ husband!csc x wife&fem!r
âȘ A/N : first fic on this blog !! happy new year <3
After what felt like a minute of holding your breath inâyou finally breathe a sigh of relief, in disbelief that the project you had been working on for more than six months was complete. All complete.
The project that caused you to do constant night shifts, sometimes even all alone when your colleagues left early, those exhausting hours of work that resulted in you not being able to give enough time to your husbandâSeungcheol, was finally complete.
Only the fact that it was Seungcheol, saved you from multiple fights that couples go through, when one can't find the time to give their significant other.
You're grateful. Beyond grateful.
Leaning back in your chair, you throw your arms in the air with contentment, letting out a squeal as you do so.
âFinally,â you couldn't help the grin forming on your face, brightening your face features.
However, as you took the time to look around in search of a colleague to share this happy moment with, your grin immediately dropped.
âEveryone left?â Sighing, you glanced at your watch. It indeed was too late, it shouldn't be a surprise that everyone had left.
You were so focused on completing your projectâdetermined to get it done before the deadlineâthat you can't even remember when your colleagues left.
You rose from your seat, piling up all the paper works and placing them neatly on your table by the corner, before taking your phone to call Seungcheolâonly to frown as it didn't turn on.
âHuh? I had it switched off this whole time?â Confused and slightly panicked, you turn your phone onânow concerned as the screen flashed with text messages from Seungcheol and 10+ missed calls.
Without wasting a second, you immediately call Seungcheol, taking your bag as you make your way out of your department office.
Weirdly enough, Seungcheol wasn't picking up your calls, causing you to stress even more. He did say he would be working for late hours today, but he had tried calling you just an hour ago.
As you reached the elevator, you let out a loud groan at the sight of an âout of service' sign.
A million dollar company? Sounded more like a joke to you right now.
You had to take the stairs, Seungcheol didn't pick up the call, he would be working late hours, you'd have to go home alone at this hour, and last but something that leaves you devastated the mostâhaving to sleep on the cold bed that lacked his warmth.
âThanks, life.â you could only think to yourself, your soft footsteps echoing with each step you took down the stairs.
Reaching the bottom floor, you breathe a sigh of relief at the sight of the bright city illuminated with lights, the road filled with cars passing by in front of you.
As you step out of the building, you're immediately hit with the cool breeze of the freezing winter, causing you to hug yourself tightly.
You're always thankful that your company building is located at the centre of the city, meaning you never have to worry about going home late at night.
But today, even this breath-taking view of the city couldn't make your day better or make your eyes shine with awe. Because you know whom you need and he wasn't here with you at this moment.
You just wanted a kiss from him, wanted to hear âyou did a great job today, baby, I'm so proud of youâ from him, wanted to spend the rest of the night with him, and just wanted him.
Sighing, you take slow but steady steps towards somewhereâyou just wanted to take a little stroll before going home, because the one you wanted to see so much right now wouldn't be there when you enter the comfort of your home anyway.
Because the comfort of your home was Seungcheol. Without him, your house just felt like an empty, cool space you really don't feel like living in.
After a few minutes of walking, you stand by a bridge, admiring the view of the calmy flowing river. Indeed, it was too beautiful to resistâcausing you to smile finally.
âWhat's got my baby so smiley?â The voice and the man you recognised right away cooed, carrying a hint of amusement that only you could pick up, followed by his strong arms wrapping around your waist so gently.
Immediately turning around, your face brightens, your lips curling up into the happiest grin that was only reserved for him.
âCheollie!!â You swear you sounded like an excited child chirping over an ice cream, but you couldn't care less because Seungcheol was in front of you right now. Throwing your arms around his neck, you hugged him tightly.
Maybe too tightly because even Seungcheol couldn't return the hug with the energy you had.
âI think this is enough, love,â he laughed when you refused to let go even after a minute. One of his hands rubbed your back while the other tried to hug you back with the same energy you were hugging him.
âNo, it's never enough.â You were quick to defend, immediately shaking your head as you only tighten your grip around him more.
âHm, let me guess. You missed me too much?â he teased with an intention to get a reaction out of you, only to fold immediately when you nodded so genuinely.
âA little too much.â Finally pulling back from the hug, you look him in the eye with a pout. He softens, his eyes looking at you so intently as he pulls out his hand to hold your face.
âIâm here now, and I love you,â his voice was low and soft, as if it was only meant for you to hear. âBut why were you working overnight again? Didn't your boss tell you that you would have a break today?â
Seungcheol was indeed rightâyour boss had informed your department that the employees can take a day off, except for the ones working on the recent project. This included you and four others, but you had to revise it all over again, which meant you had to stay overnight anyways.
âIt wasn't for the ones working on the project,â Seungcheolâs eyebrow immediately furrowed, his expression unpleasant.
âWho is he? Who does he think he isââ
âCheol, he's my boss.â
He pouted at that, and you let out a giggle.
âWell, unfortunately.â He rolled his eyes, waving his hand in the airâalways more than happy to let you know that he despises your boss.
âI always told you, I'm a better CEO and boss than him, with a better company and a better income.â There he goes again, not leaving a chance to convince you to join his company.
âCheol, hun, we talked about this.â you say, referring to the fact that working in his presence would be difficult for you. Not because he is distractingâ No, screw that, he is distracting. You don't like to think that youâd have to work properly, aware of the fact that Seungcheol is in his office, just a hallway away from you, and you wouldn't be able to just run there to hug or kiss him.
He is that distracting.
âHmph, fine. You love me so much, it's difficult to work in my presenceâI get it!â Crossing his arms, he spoke in his pouty manner.
âOh!â Your eyes widened, remembering the fact that the project causing you (Seungcheol) to go crazy, was finally all done. âI have good news!â
Seungcheol's hand paused mid-air, his eyes dramatically wideningâthe way you could basically see through him and what he was thinking, you couldn't help but let out a laugh.
This was not how he planned to know about this good news.
âW-what good newsâŠ? Why are you laughing?â He whispered, his face speaking out loudâhe wanted to hear that.
Seungcheol seemed confused but eager to know the âgood news" as your body trembled with laughter. The thought of him being nervous yet so giddy over something that's, unfortunately, not the case, made you want to squish his cheeks.
Finally taking control over your laugh, you let your intrusive thoughts winâreaching out to hold his soft cheeks in your hands, squishing them together.
âNo, baby, that's not what I meant,â you look at him with an amused smile as you notice the shift in his expressionânow, embarrassed but a hint of smile played on his lips.
He avoided your eyes and hung his head low, cheeks dusted with a bright shade of pink.
Tilting your head, you try to look at him in the eyes, smiling. âOr perhaps you really wanted me to beâŠâ
âNo, no,â he shook his head, letting out a chuckle, taking your hands in his. âForget about that! Tell me what you wanted to say?â
âI completed it.â
âCompleted? Completed what, hun?â
âYour most hatest, the project that was causing headaches.â The way Seungcheolâs face immediately brightened, a gasp escaping his mouth.
âReally!?â
âReally!â
Seungcheol kept himself from squealing with excitement right in front of everyone, and instead trapped you in his arms (hugged you), and spinned you around with the brightest smile.
âCheol! Put me down!â You laughed, and he did, leaning forward to peck both of your cheeks.
âDoes that mean you finally get paid leaves? Oh my god?â Exaggerating, the man in front of you covered his mouth and gasped. You hit him lightly on the shoulder.
âI will! You hate that company so much?â
âI do.â
âMe too.â You mumbled, turning around as you rested your elbow on the guardrail.
âYou hate your own company? Then stop working there! Why are you there anyway?â He followed, intertwining his fingers with yours.
âMoney, cheol, money.â You shoot him a look, followed by a laugh. He chuckled, but his eyes were focused on how the city lights enhance your beauty by far more.
âWhich is something I make everyday, and it is more than your bossâs monthly income.â Him and his internal arguments with your boss never failed to make you burst into laughter.
âHm, why do you hate him though?â Amused, but curious, you ask. He cocks his head to the side and scoffs.
âWhy wouldn't I? Just because he is the boss doesn't mean he doesn't have to do anything. He can't rely on his employees for every damn work, and expect them to do it at light speed.â He sighed, rolling his eyes.
His rant went on and on, and you listened to him patientlyâyour smile never leaving your face as you stared at him.
âWhat is he, a man in his sixties?â he took a deep breath, huffing with disappointment.
âCheol?â You called out, wrapping your hands around his arm, looking up at him.
âHm?â He shifted his eyes on you, waiting for you to continue.
âDid you know? I love you.â Resting your chin on his shoulder, you told him that so sweetly, he had to pause for a moment to process it.
It wasn't like you and him didn't shower each other with âI love you' every single minute, but something about you taking your time to say it so sweetly and lovinglyâthe sincerity and love in your eyes visibly clearâit had an effect on him even after years of being with you.
âW-well,â he cleared his throat, looking away from your gaze. âI love you too. No, more.â
âYeah? How much more?â
âDefinitely more than your bossâs daily salary.â Again, you burst into a fit of laughterâfollowed by Seungcheolâs giggles and pleading for you to quiet down.
And this is what you mean, when you say he is your home.

Hello everyone,
Brazil is underwater, and we come here asking you for your help.
As some of you may know, the state of Rio Grande do Sul (RS) has been getting torrential rains since last Monday (29/04/24).
In four days, it has rained 436,2 millimeters (17,2 inches), whichâs triple the normal amount in a month, which is 140 millimeters (5,5 inches)Â
More than two great rivers in our region had their volume duplicated, or sometimes, triplicated in size.
This means all the cities that are close to these rivers ended up completely underwater
There were more than 110 towns flooded and the estimate is that more than half a million people have been affected by this climate disaster. There are also thousands of people who are arriving in my city (the state capital, Porto Alegre) as climate refugees, coming from communities displaced by the floods.
Through this unprecedented tragedy we have been really happy to see entire communities mobilizing to help others. Still, there are people who have lost everything, especially those in marginalized communities living in precarious, unsafe and unsanitary housing.
Thatâs where you come in. We need money. Money to buy food, clothes, medicine, basic hygiene products, mattresses so that refugees have a place to sleep, basically everything.
Right now, the biggest demand is drinkable water: my city is almost completely out of water, because the water treatment stations have been flooded.Â
We understand that you may be able to give very little, but also what is little to you means A Lot more to us. Just a dollar is enough to buy 5 liters of fresh water.Â
Here are the links for international donations:Â
(these donations are managed by people I know and trust. if you can, donate to them and not the government, but Iâll include that below as well. we don't trust the government to do anything right now, basically)Â
This is another option:
Government donations:
And here is some international news coverage of whatâs happening:
PLEASE share and donate anything you can. Everything is greatly appreciated.Â
#donations#please donate#signal boost#climate crisis#climate catastrophe#natural disasters#brazil#im desperate and i dont know what to do#this is a living fucking nightmare#idk how else to tag this but yeah#please share
