As a Taylor Swift expert, Gaylor hater, and recovering 1989er, you probably don't want to know that apparently in the notes of the re-recording Taylor Swift talks about how she wasn't dating any of her female friends, and the Gaylors are having meltdowns on twitter. Words like "gaslit" and "queerbaiting" are being used.
of COURSE I want to know about that, I need to go log back into my twitter account RIGHT NOW
also goddddd as a certified 1989 enjoyer I'm gonna have to listen to Taylor's Version :/

i don’t want to be the one to say but it is terribly easy for a cishet (rich) white woman to fall down the republican pipeline when she begins to surround herself with them and THAT’S what makes me uncomfortable

The post: You can’t say Lily Evans was a feminist because a person with feminist awareness wouldn’t marry a privileged cishet man who abused his power by being a bully right in front of her.
The Snaters: LILY WAS FREE TO CHOOSE JAMES, DID YOU EXPECT HER TO CHOOSE SNAPE?
Me: At what point did I say she had to choose someone? At what point did I say I ship her with Snape? At what point does questioning a character’s political mindset turn into reducing her to an object of desire between two men?
Of course Lily was free to marry whoever she wanted; I have no problem with that. My issue is with people trying to portray her as some kind of feminist icon of the 70s when there is nothing in the canon to suggest that, and when that theory is contradicted by her life choices. A feminist woman from the 70s wouldn’t marry the class’s rich bully, wouldn’t end up with a hyper-toxic white guy who spent his time abusing classmates, wouldn’t end up with a spoiled and obnoxious brat who publicly stripped a working-class classmate against his will. And this has nothing to do with whether Lily should have ended up with someone else. Lily should end up with whoever she wants—no one is debating that. What’s being debated is the attempt to portray her as a feminist icon when she simply wasn’t.
Lily was a white girl from the 70s who was completely alienated from the patriarchal structures of her time, only cared about social issues that directly affected her, and chose a traditional life that was entirely in line with the patriarchal expectations for women of her era. She was not a revolutionary, she was not a feminist—she was a teenage mother who married her high school boyfriend, who happened to be a rich jerk. And saying that does not imply in any way that she should have chosen another man. The fact that Snaters are so obsessed with this just proves that all their so-called progressive rhetoric online is pure performance, because anyone with even a minimal understanding of the subject would never assume that criticizing a female character’s political stance means she has to pick one man over another.
Honestly, what a drag. But what’s even more exhausting is how all these people attack not only by twisting your words and making completely irrelevant statements but also by trying to argue their points with nothing but fan theories and assumptions based on their own biases or whatever fandom content they consume as if it were gospel. And the moment you counter them with canon-based arguments, suddenly, they decide the conversation is over and that they’re going to "leave it at that." Because, of course, the moment canon gets thrown in their faces, it turns out they have no ground to stand on, and their arguments are invalid because they’re built on nothing but the pillars of their imagination—so they have to retreat to avoid embarrassing themselves further.
I’ve said it over and over: I don’t care if people come to throw hate my way, and I don’t care if people come to debate. But if they do, at least have the guts and the dignity not to run away with their tails between their legs when I completely dismantle their cheap hate-filled discourse—because, honestly, it’s as embarrassing as it is disappointing.

Booktok makes me sick, not just because of all the shitty books. It's the prevalence, no, the celebration, of toxic masculinity. Every single booktok book features some variation on the same man. And without fail, against all sensible reason, these characters are portrayed as handsome and charismatic and desirable.
It makes me sick when these authors hold up these toxic, predatory traits and put them on a pedestal as some kind of Ideal Man.
It makes me sick when their aggressiveness and possessiveness is treated as romantic. It makes me sick when these shitty men forcibly grab women, invade their personal spaces, and render them helpless by 'purring' in their ears, every. single. fucking. time.
It makes me sick that these misogynistic, heteronormative, and hypermasculine social conventions keep appearing in so-called feminist literature.
Strip away the idealized elements and you have what is basically the rich, white, cishet, alpha-male archetype. He's tall, usually six feet, physically fit and muscular with obligatory six pack abs, and conventionally handsome, with a chiseled jawline. He's usually clean-shaven, and any hair he may have on his body is minimal. He maintains composure at all times and rarely shows anxiety or uncertainty. He exudes raw charisma and charm and navigates social spaces effortlessly.
His hobbies, if he has any, are stereotypically masculine. When it comes to sex, he's confident, skilled, exclusively dominant, and always knows what to do without communicating with his partner. The sex he enjoys is usually rough, animalistic and overpowering. He may have been with several women in the past, and he may be regarded as a sex god, both in-universe and out.
His toxic traits are rarely portrayed as negative. But when they are, they're usually held up as some edgy, anti-hero persona and the reader is inevitably manipulated into sympathizing with him. He'll be portrayed as a tortured, wounded animal, and his female love interest (and, by proxy, the reader) will decide on some variation of 'I can fix him'.
He is essentially the unrealistic standard the ideal Proper Man; the one that men are expected to emulate, and that women are expected to swoon over.
But what really irks me is the lost potential.
If there are men who don't fit into this mold, they are depicted as pathetic, ineffectual, or any number of negative traits.
The narrative quietly and passive-aggressively mocks them and portray them as boring and un-sexy.
After all, is this the kind of man who will bravely swoop in and sweep a helpless woman off her feet? Of course not. Such men are boys. Wimps. Cowards.
These books are supposed to be fantasy: a genre in which easily anything can be explored. If faeries, magic, and contrived mating bonds can exist, then why can't we also have male characters who exist outside the stereotypical, hypermasculine mold?
Why is it that we can have so many fantastical, impossible, and wondrous magical forces, creatures, and peoples, but we can't have men who aren't possessive, abusive, or controlling?
Why is it that male characters, have to be so innately dominant, abusive, and violent? Why do they have to be so fit and muscular and strong?
Even worse, why is it treated as something that is so natural, so inescapable, even in the realm of fiction?
Where are the men who aren't tall and fit? Where are the men who don't have sculpted abs or chiseled jawlines? Where are the men who aren't lean and muscular?
Why can’t we have men who are skinny or overweight? Why can't we have men who aren't handsome or attractive, but just average looking? Why can't we have men who are shorter or just average height?
Why can't we have men with non-stereotypical hobbies? Why can't we have men who love to read, or paint, or write, or sing, or dance, or build model kits?
Why can’t we have men who are timid and shy? Why can't we have men who feel anxiety, fear, and sadness? Why can't we have men who aren't afraid of crying openly?
Why can't we have men who aren't sex gods? Why can't we have men who aren't confident in bed? Who are anxious, or even scared, at the prospect of sex? Who are passive instead of dominant? Who want to experience intimacy and affection?
Why can’t we have men be kind and gentle and sweet for once?
I'll tell you why we can't. Because booktok says men like these are not 'man' enough. Booktok says men like these are the 'boring' option, and completely devoid of interesting quirks, traits or personality. Booktok says men like these are underserving of attention, and only fit to be background noise.
As far as booktok is concerned, men like these can't exist.

I don’t have Twitter - is there drama in the Rob employee circle 😳
It's so convoluted at this point but in short, Rob hired this woman Brittani to handle his social media/general PR as part of his company, More Better, back in November of 2023, and in September she revealed she was no longer with him. Since then, she's been tweeting (and then deleting) a lot of stuff shading him.
Honestly a lot of her anger seemed in good faith: he's a rich cishet white guy and this isn't a TV set (which afaik people have only ever had good things to say about Rob's sets), it's an "actual" business, and given Rob's general PR (and the fact that no one likes Adim or cares about More Better), it was definitely a contentious job where I'm sure Rob felt like he could just shut down anything she said or did that he didn't 100% agree with.
The thing is, after 2 months, she is continuing to tweet (and delete) random vagues about Rob's character and morals, but has not actually said anything about what happened to her/with him (despite continually saying she is going to talk about it). Instead, she's just engaging with shitposts from actual children on Sunnytwit
So now Bryan, the VP of More Better (and RCG's former assistant, turned creative executive, on Sunny (and my oomf)) is posting gifs kind of mocking her tweets about Rob and moving on from him...
It's all very high school drama, honestly, and both of these people graduated college in the 00s so it's just lowkey funny... (And Rob still follows Brittani ,but I'm gonna say he's hopefully too busy making us good Mac content to give a fuck about all this)

Basically what I think people need to grasp is that "privilege" is not a rigid hierarchy that can be displayed with a simple top-down triangle diagram with all men on top and all women on the bottom. Especially in America where we have a lot of different bigotries at play, you cannot divide privilege based only on gender or agab and expect to be correct. You just can't.
Because if you try, you get absolutely incoherent arguments like "That poor disabled black child in a wheelchair is a male, therefore he is higher than an ablebodied rich cishet white adult woman on the privilege ladder".
Which is just. Complete nonsense. But if you divide the world based on gender first, that's the kind of thing you'll have to try to believe is true.
Instead, we really need to understand that privilege and oppression are accumulations of identities, societies, cultures, and circumstances, that can and do change based on many factors, and may not always be as simple as we want them to be.

i sometimes need to remind myself that not relating to cis women does absolutely not mean that i'm not a "real" woman.
it's really insidious how we're constantly fed the idea that only thin cishet white women exist when the experience of womanhood is so much more diverse and rich than that.
anyways if you're a woman you're cool and props for keeping your chin up, it's tough out there
also absolutely no hate to thin cishet white women just in case

Ok I've had enough of this "Alastor doesn't know about gay stuff" I keep seeing around. As a history nerd I honestly can't take it anymore.
Kiddos it's time to learn you a few things. First of all, compared to subsequent decades,
The 1920s were incredibly gay
Was it still illegal to perform homosexual acts, yes. Were gay people still abused and lost jobs for being gay, and were even socially excluded from cishet white society? Oh absolutely. Did most individuals have to stay closeted? Duh. But you know what wasn't a wide spread thing yet? The medicalization of homosexuality. Conversion therapy wasn't fully approved of by psychiatrists until the 40's. Crossdressing wasn't considered mental illness, scandalous, yes, but not mental illness. The haze codes were not implemented yet, and the combination of prohibition, the two decades prior of progressivism, and the horrors of world war one left the youngest generation with a rebellious spirit and a desire for breaking the law. And if you lived in a big city, being LGBT in the twenties was often better than being LGBT in the 30s, 40s, or even 50s.
Young rich kids would seek out queer cruising spots in cities as a form of tourism. Harlem was famous for it's yearly drag balls, and many of the most famous black artists at the time were infact lgbt. Broadway and Hollywood were full of individuals who people knew were not entirely straight. Hell, jazz was born in red light districts home to black queer people. In places like New York there were people famous for being openly gay and despite sodomy laws police would not care in the slightest about them.
And though the South was as fucked as it ever was with Jim Crow Laws and the race riots, New Orleans has always been one of the more progressive cities in the South and has always had a very large gay community. Between the inherit campiness and debauchery of Mardi gras to being the birth place of jazz, to new Orleans being the easiest place to get away with breaking prohibition laws in the south, Alastor as a mixed race black radio host playing jazz in New Orleans in the 20s ABSOLUTELY is familiar with the LGBT community of the time.
The thing is, the language used by the community at the time was so fundamentally different that alastor would not know what you are talking about if you spoke to him about modern LGBT issues. The pride flag did not even exist yet. Gay still meant happy to him in his age. "Bisexual" at the time was more akin to the term "trans" than being attracted to multiple genders, and transgender didn't exist yet as a word. But if you called yourself "a confirmed bachelor" he would understand you were a man who liked men. If you called yourself a "fairy" he would know you weren't cis. If you were a woman and told him you liked sapho or Peter pan, he'd know you liked women. And if you were wearing lavender, or a green carnation, a red bowtie, a violet (if you were a woman), or were a man with a peacock feather in your ensemble he would give you a knowing nod. He's not ignorant of the lgbtq. He's a man out of his time. He speaks a different language entirely to modern gay slang, so it seem he doesn't know anything about it. But he does. Gay and trans people have always been a thing and as a radio host, literally being on the forefront of mass media at it's beginnings, in arguably the best decade to be gay in the 20th century before the 60s, in a city so comfortable with what was considered debauchery that it gave birth to "devil music" and embraced it before anyone else, yes he knows what they are. He just doesn't have the modern language to express it.

How can one rival Colleen Hoover in the publishing industry? What can be done to dethrone her pointless, badly written books?
Sorry, I read “Ugly Love” around ten years ago and I have still to recover.
Unfortunately for all of us, the literary market caters almost exclusively to cishet middle class white women, who buy and read the most books.
They have the time and money to sit around reading, and they read erotica and listen to true crime podcasts to escape the boredom of suburban house wife life/ a career in HR.
Which is why the most popular books are like. So boring. Because it's all, he grabs my throat, and whispers, "You're mine" or "I'll tell you what to wear and what to do..."
And it's like, candy to them. It gets to them like tickets to a Taylor Swift concert, even though you and I have read nastier, more fascinating twisted shit on AO3 since we were ten.
so if you want to dethrone Hoover, you'd have to write something similarly mediocre and cishet for them specifically.
one of my favorite examples of books that seem really stupid but were best sellers anyway -
Where the Crawdads Sing.
think about it.
Southern (middle class white women love some Southern wilderness settings)
Two love interests, white man with blond hair who is abusive and white man with brown hair, who miscommunicates. love triangle, baby.
Discrimination based on being white trash (both white trash women and middle class to rich white women can relate to white trash)
Murder trial. Instant best seller, every time. Especially falsely accused.
Main character is a beautiful white woman who lives in the sticks and mud, yet manages to be so hot and so mysterious and cute - no armpit hair or filth on her, except for the occasional cute smudge
Resolution is basically just, she killed the guy that she said she didn't kill. BIG PLOT TWIST.
So if you wanna dethrone Hoover, try that.
Love triangle with two white men.
Murder trial.
White trash representation.
Southern Gothic.
Good luck.

taylor swift is a very rich cishet abled white woman, she is in no way a tortured poet, she has had no real struggle, idc what youve made up about her, she is nothing, she doesnt matter and well all be better when she shuts the fuck up and disappears. people should be able to make this and far more cutting criticisms without getting attacked but as ive begun seeing her fans are actually genuinely evil and will harass anyone who doesnt worship the ground she walks on.

I don't know how to say this politely but I've noticed a lot of people in the notes of my various Gaylor posts scoffing at how they can't believe anyone thought a rich cishet white woman" was secretly gay and like. I mean first of all rich white woman are gay all the time; those aren't the things that disqualify Taylor from queerness so much as the way she's repeated that she isn't queer.
but secondly. a lot of people rather derisively calling Taylor white are in fact my fellow whites, and I do need y'all to read this.

What people took from the popularity of intersectional feminism is that “women are still oppressed! Like women of colour, queer/trans women, women in poverty, disabled women, refugee/migrant women etc :)” and have lost touch with the reality that even the theoretical white rich cishet able bodied incredibly privileged woman is.. still oppressed…. Under the Patriarchy. Which is a system that oppresses women.

New Strange Fate lore!
Ok, let’s get into this Strange Fate post! Go read it then come back for thoughts.
First of all Ms. Smith seems to have a favorite word, is it a California-ism or something? I’ve never heard it.
Quoth the internet:
/ˈzɑftɪg/ Use the adjective zaftig to describe a woman who is attractively curvy. The word zaftig is almost always used to describe a voluptuous body.
Okee-dokee then. Sarah has become curvy and since that’s practically at the top of the page I’ll comment on that. I think that back in 1996 the publishers would say, “Write lots of cishet white people!” and of course here in 2024 publishers are saying, “More diversity! We need more!” so Ms. Smith is writing for two very different markets and I think that gave us Sarah’s new curves and Mal’s new biracial as well as bi-supernatural nature. Cool! I really hope that Strange Fate not just comes out but works out so that Ms. Smith can let her imagination run wild with later books in this new diversity rich YA environment. I’m curious to see what she’d get up to!
Kierlan is a tiger confirmed! And he’s the fourth wild power confirmed again, not that there was any doubt that Ms. Smith was telling us that he was, there was just doubt in my mind since it was hard to make the story fit. Why would two Circle Daybreak boys be following Sarah around protecting her unless she’s secretly the wild power and Kierlan is just a ringer so the baddies would go after him and get tigerslapped? That is a sensible plot, but it seems not to be the one we get.
Mal’s whole name is Maledict, which
mal·e·dic·tion
a magical word or phrase uttered with the intention of bringing about evil or destruction; a curse.
"he muttered maledictions to himself as he trod the stone passages"
So a nice witch-and-vampire couple looked upon their newborn baby boy and went, “We shall name him curse. That’s a good name that definitely won’t get him teased in human school!” Ok ok, this probably actually means that Mal was not exactly a wanted baby and probably had a terrible childhood.
Mal is also Kierlan’s bodyguard, a fact that makes the whole love triangle fall into place. There aren’t two boys following Sarah around; Kierlan is following Sarah around and Mal has to follow Kierlan around and he fell in love with Sarah from being around her so much. This makes sense! I love when plot makes sense!
Except… Mal literally has a villain name! How is he not the baddie? But how can he be the baddie and also Sarah's soulmate? You can’t be soulmates with someone when you’re trying to use dragons to destroy the world they live in! Gah! Ok, when I saw the post that led me to LJ Smith’s new website? I'd literally turned my computer on to type a post trying to figure out who the baddie was, and I was having conniptions because I couldn’t make any of the suspects fit. And I still can’t. And I love it.
We also have some interesting new terminology. The couples “wove the silver cord of love” which is very much not how being soulmates worked in the first nine books. I’m making a guess that this is more 2024itizing. Forced romance as plot was more in vogue back in the nineties; now it comes across and non-con and creepy.
But I never read the soulmate principle as forced romance. I thought the mind reading and silver cord were a magical effect caused when two people were already perfect for each other. Like, there are people who work as a couple and always will work as a couple but here in our world the only way to know is to get married and live your lives together and find out, but the silver cord was just a way to find out sooner. It wasn’t forcing people to be together. But maybe I’m misreading that or seeing a distinction where there isn’t one. *shrug*
So now people can become soulmates by choice? Is that what it means? Or something?
Then we have a bit listing the returning characters who appear, including Hecate, Maya and Hellewise. So will Sarah see their distant past selves, or are they somehow still alive? Maya got pretty solidly killed but eh, she’s the first vampire, she could manage some plot device to get back alive if she wanted. And the two first witches might have magic that lets them live so long. Heck, maybe one of them is the baddie finally like, “These humans have gotten out of control! The modern world stinks! I’m just gonna raise a few dragons and use them to get things back to the primitive way I like it!” And hey, maybe Hecate is a witch who’s also not a witch because she’s a goddess… it’s a stretch but so is every suspect!
And what AI is Ms. Smith using that agreed to draw Hecate topless? I couldn’t get GPT to make me a fully covered frame from a magical girl transformation no matter how much I tell it I’m not looking for naked! But that was a while ago. (I don’t have art AI, I have a friend with a subscription who sometimes lets me play with it)
And then we have a Sarah/Mal scene and a Sarah/Kierlan scene and I gotta say, Kierlan is still kind of creepy and kind of a jerk. He dragged a girl around with her face on the ground? That’s some Blaise Harman levels of disdain for the humans, right there. And just the way he talks to Sarah is… creepy to me. Is it creepy to you guys? It’s so subjective! Kierlan’s vibes hit me wrong, but I think Ms. Smith was trying for haughty prankster with a heart of gold and it just isn’t landing with me.
Well, we’ll get to see more of our guys and all our questions will be answered if the books really do come out!

Omg that ask you received about marginalised swifties ‘Turning their brains off’ to fawn over their fave fascist is SO REAL.
Ur ask box says come here to rant so I’m NOT holding back lmao sorry if this is a long one.
One of my friends is like this but he doesn’t even have Taylor Swift as an exception to his political opinions/ the standards he sets for other celebrities. Instead he will try to the best of his ability to justify EVERYTHING she does. Even if he literally said the opposite five minutes ago.
He loves Greta Thunberg and thinks carbon credits are just rich people shite?? Actually no Taylor is trying her best!! 😭😭 did you know she bought carbon credits so really she’s mitigating climate change.
He is against racism (AS A WHITE ENGLISH BOY) And thinks all celebrities should speak up against it?? Well, if she speaks up she and her fans could be hurt! (In THIS crowd?? 💁🏼‍️ 👩🏼👩🏼👩🏼👩🏼‍🦱👩🏼👩🏻‍🦰👩🏼👩🏻👩🏼 Bitch WHO?).
He is against homophobia (dude is literally gay) and any cishet celebrity who doesn’t immediately condemn homophobia is trash and morally bankrupt (his own words- which I agree with)?? Well yk she did make that one song! Wdym it portrays the poor rural working class as the homophobes and the rich educated people as great allies who have never been homophobic nor the ones passing homophobic and transphobic legislation?? No it’s actually a metaphor (for what? Her being classist? Not much of a metaphor when it’s fucking obvious).
That’s the context, so here’s The Story 😸😸
I remember late last year (a few weeks before Taylor Swift donated the wild wild sum of £250 dollars to see a comedy show raising money for Palestine) me and my friend were talking about how it’s morally bankrupt for celebrities to not talk about Palestine and this delulu little swiftie was like “yeah!! You guys are so right!” Until our friend was like “esp billionaires cz they could make so much of an impact just by speaking up once but don’t because they care more their money and have probably never spoken to a brown person darker than a paper bag”
And lemme tell you this about this mf. his face dropped immediately like 😊😟 and he starts waffling on like “uhmm well she’s on tour it would endanger her fans! Like the Manchester terror attack!! And she’s not a politician or anything so it wouldn’t do nowt.”
(The way he was insinuating her fans might get bombed in a ‘terror attack’ is a little 🤨 considering Isreal wouldn’t bomb a white US American woman and her majority wealthy white western fanbase in a western zionist county because that demographic makes up the majority of their supporters, and esp not in a terror attack... unless he’s aware of the fact that she’s probably a Zionist but just doesn’t want to say it LMAOO)
So me and my friend share A Look like what is this english boy (derogatory: inbred racist) on? And he immediately goes on the offence and I will say again; he is a staunch leftist. He is a gay guy in the Uk, esp considering the northern (aka fucked by the government, quite bigoted and really deprived) working class (he is the richest of our friend group but tbh that isn’t saying much lmao) area we live in. He is ALWAYS talking about social justice and how he, who is on average the most privileged person in our friend group, wants to use his privilege to help the less fortunate.
So! He turns to our friend: queer brown girl who’s family are catholic and from Maharashtra (India), and me: queer white girl who’s family are (mostly) Jewish and from Eastern Europe. And he says (I SHIT YOU NOT) extremely loudly so that many people nearby can hear cause we’re in our school’s canteen:
“Well, at least MY ANCESTORS didn’t murder hundreds of Hindus during partition! And at least MY BROTHER isn’t in the IDF!!”
(Wish this was in an English literature exam cause I could analyse the fuck out of it)
All it took was people insinuating his favourite celebrity wasn’t a good person. We didn’t even fucking name her. And he weaponises his privileges against those with less than him. Even if what he said was true it is fucking disgusting to use that against minorities, esp his friends, esp because we live in an area where so many people fall prey to politics scapegoating minorities for all the UK’s problems, and esp because he pretends to be against this stuff??
But no it gets worse, because let me explain the actual truth of that he said.
Our friend’s family were originally Hindu and converted relatively recently and AFTER partition so they wouldn’t have been killing Hindus. And saying murder is just pretty ugh. Also HUNDREDS?? The only people with that much blood on their hands after partition are the English and that’s a fucking fact. And from what I know most of the conflicts within Maharashtra were not religious but ethnic-based?? I might be wrong but of course this guy wouldn’t know regardless. Also it should be noted that the majority of Indian kids at our school are from a different state with a different language + culture and our friend already feels alienated from them along with being treated like shit by a select few. So literally announcing her family fucking MURDERED theirs isn’t helping at all!
Then there’s my bit lol.
First of all it’s not my brother, it’s my half brother. And he’s not in the IDF he is just a Zionist. Which is still really awful and uplifting a system of apartheid. But not the same.
Now the thing is. The only reason this guy knows this is because THREE YEARS AGO i entrusted him as a friend and vented about issues in my family: that my half brother is a Zionist and wants to join the IDF when he’s older and I’m really ashamed that he has interpreted our religion in a way that perpetrates genocide. Also like my entire family are arguing about it and it’s really stressful. A month later (still 3 years ago) someone spread rumours around school that I was a Zionist and hated Muslims (what really happened was that someone was making Holocaust jokes saying ‘I gave them permission to do it’ and I called them out, so that was their revenge.). This guy was my friend all through that and KNOWS how much it upset me and esp because there were at the time no other Jewish people in our school.
To this day I’m still hesitant to tell people at school that I’m Jewish because I’m paranoid something like this will happen again.
But this guy didn’t care. He made up a lie about my friend not only demonising her to her own community but also to outsiders. Blaming mass bloodshed that his own people perpetrated onto her and her family. Then he lied about me and my family- bastardising something I told him years ago as a close friend with the trust he wouldn’t use it against me years later. But he did.
Of our little trio (we do have a bigger friend group but we were the only ones in that convo), he is the one who has done the least for Palestine. We have been fighting for fucking years and he’s only opening his eyes know which is still good and better than never of course. But to speak with such authority when literally all he has done is tell us he’s against Israel (better than Taylor but still spineless). Bro isn’t even an activist because there’s nothing active about what he does. He just passively hangs around and through association with us, other people and being already a minority (queer) isn’t assumed to be a Zionist.
AND!! Ironically he is actually quite disliked at my school- not for being a scumbag, but for the fact that he’s gay. We are some of his only friends but he’s willing to jeopardise our relationship just to uplift an insanely wealthy bigot half a world away.
Anyway yeah that’s it lol.
What he did was racist and antisemitic and fucking AWFUL. He has done stuff like this before and since- never always go the same extent though- and I think this story takes the cake.
When you said leftist swifties will just ignore their values for her. You were right to an extend but also kind of wrong. Turns out they will also weaponise everything they claim to be against just to protect their precious little blonde billionaire. Hooray 🤩🤩
Anyway thank you so so much for not only calling out Taylor swift and swifties’s BS but also issues within the anti community (sigh. Jewishbarbies) and standing up for what’s right. Free Palestine and fuck the colonisers 🇵🇸🇵🇸❤️❤️
As a side note you said you wanted to listen to more Indian songs n you probably already know it cause it’s Bollywood and really popular but CHAMMAK CHALLO by Akon is a lifestyle <3 I might not be here much but I’d love to be 😻 anon if it’s available (or the REAL Jewish barbie if you feel like it lmao)
please drop this guy. this is not your friend this is someone who hangs out with you because (as you said) no one else likes him.
nobody with his alleged politics would ever think let alone ACCUSE you and your desi best friend of racist lies (STRAIGHT UP ACCUSING YOUR FRIENDS FAMILY OF MASS MURDER?) and zionist ties (blaming you for your brother wanting to join the idf?). this is not a good person.
i’m sorry this behavior is so abhorrent. nobody who genuinely respects, likes, cares and KNOWS the both of you would ever think of saying this in your face. and all in the defense of a WEALTHY WHITE CELEB WHO PRIDES HERSELF IN BEING A FEMINIST CONTINUING TO STAY SILENT 9 MONTHS INTO A GENOCIDE. he is showing you that he would rather side with/defend a (privileged) white person rather his own marginalized friends if he likes them more than you. this is not someone not committed to their own politics.
this is what i was saying about further left identifying swifties is that their leftist politics are just aesthetics for them. if you can disregard your politics for your favorite celeb you are not committed to the ideology you claim as your political framework. also i noticed how you used homophobia and greta thunberg as examples, which explains his behavior as self serving meaning he’s a leftist only because he’s directly impacted by his issues. (if he calls himself anti racist tell him to stfu especially after what he said to your desi bff bc wtf) this is not a good person who’s own personal politics regarding palestine are passive at best. he isn’t even committed to palestine’s liberation.
ugh. what a disgusting human being. i am so sorry your “friend” said this disgusting shit to you just because HE felt threatened you guys were holding his fave accountable. he went fully mask off and spouted bigotry because HE felt threatened. if this is not the first or last time he’s done this, he’s told you multiple times who he is and you have no obligation to continue being his friend because he does not deserve to be.
fuck all the zionists in the tag and SHOW UP FOR PALESTINE. go and get involved in your actions, reshare and donate to gfm’s, actively educate yourself (haymarket books has free book pdfs to download about palestine), post online and above all REMAIN STEADFAST IN YOUR COMMITMENT TO PALESTINE.
death to all colonial powers, land back to all indigenous peoples, and reparations and return of all stolen resources and artifacts to the decolonized peoples. fuck israel and death to the white settler colonial state!

* Abusive man x man written by a white cishet woman but one of the men is described as "bronze skinned stallion" and "exotic". He's Italian.*
* Clearly was Voltron/Hazbin hotel/Hetalia/lore Olympus man x man fanfic but the cishet white woman writer made very minimal effort to change the settings, character names and character dynamics*
* Random kinda ok lesbian story but really only applies to cis white able bodied rich women and no one else. Was also written by a white cis woman*

* Abusive man x man written by a white cishet woman *
* scifi story that's supposed to tackle tough issues but only really says "capitalism bad" and every character is just the stereotypes of multiple different LGBT identities. Also describes its POC characters real weird and still is only really centering either two cis gay men together or a trans man and a cis man together. Was written by a white afab nonbinary pan ace or a cis white bi woman. No in-between.*
* Autobiography written by a white cis gay man that's actually genuine and the only non-booktok ass book on the list and it dosent address any non white non cis experiences but its still good none the less*

* Bi latina protagonist and her gay white guy friend spies or whatever and the guy friend ends up dieing, she's over sexualized with horrific Spanglish and stereotypes, only really kisses girls to manipulate them or show off for men and ends up with a guy at the end. Written by a cis white bi woman*
* Basically every other piece of Copy-paste unoriginal Fantasy ya set in a school but there's a stereotypical Twink in the background and it's mostly centering a cishet white couple.*
