I feel like airports should have free gyms with little shower areas. I would love nothing more then to do a little workout for awhile waiting for my flight so that I can sleep on the flight. The post workout nap would hit so hard

for ages, i’ve wondered why it’s damn near impossible to book a direct flight from Seattle to Reagan Airport in Washington DC
like, Dulles and Baltimore are both perfectly fine airports, but they are far from the city center, and the public transit options from there to the heart of DC suck ass, so i always end up paying some cab driver way too fucking much to get there
compare that to Reagan, which is right on the subway!!!  the dream!!!!  PLEASE let me pay more so i can get on a flight that ends there!!!!
well, turns out, the answer is: there is a federal law (???) prohibiting any flight over 1,250 miles for flying from/to Reagan Airport
(though from time to time they add “exceptions”, which may or may not be motivated by things like “congressperson wants a shorter goddamn commute & trades some favors to get it” lol. the total # of exceptions right now is 40 per day)
apparently this law was originally enacted to prop up Dulles Airport, because they were like “oh wah, no one is taking our flights anymore now that the subway goes to Regan, plz congress help us”
(the bastards!!!  the little fuckers!!!)
anyway, apparently last month some representative finally introduced some legislation to kill this and unsurprisingly it’s a representative from Utah lol.  i get it dude, i support your dream of Not Going To Fucking Dulles Or BWI Every Week

4 Day Washington DC Itinerary: Best things to do in 2024
Tumblr media
Washington DC, the capital of the United States, is a city wealthy in history, way of life, and iconic landmarks. With its tremendous museums, vibrant neighborhoods, and beautiful parks, it gives a extensive range of factors of interest to discover.  Whether you have four days to spend in Washington DC or a shorter amount of time, this itinerary will guide you through the best things to do and see in the city.
1. Is a 4-day duration sufficient for a fulfilling experience in Washington DC?
While Washington, DC, has lots to provide, a four-day itinerary presents enough time to enjoy the city’s highlights and immerse yourself in its precise atmosphere. During those 4 days, you will have the possibility to go to the most well-known museums, discover ancient landmarks, and find out the colorful neighborhoods that make Washington DC such a fascinating vacation spot. It’s vital to plan your days correctly to make the most of it slow within the city.
2. Getting to Washington, DC
Before diving into the information of the itinerary, it’s essential to plan your trip to Washington, DC. The town is easily accessible by air, with 3 major airports serving the place: Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI).
Depending on your region, you can choose the most handy airport for your experience. Once you arrive at the airport, you may take benefit of diverse transportation options to reach the city center. These include taxis, rideshares, shuttles, and public transportation. Each airport has its own personal transportation services, so it’s crucial to check the options available and pick the only one that fits your needs and budget.
3. Getting Around Washington D.C. during your 4 Days Itinerary
Washington, DC, is a walkable town, and many of its points of interest are placed within a reasonable distance from each other. Walking is an awesome way to discover the city and soak in its vibrant environment. However, if you opt to use public transportation, the D.C. Circulator is a convenient and inexpensive alternative. This bus carrier operates on six different routes, connecting primary attractions and neighborhoods in the town.
Another popular mode of transportation in Washington, DC, is the Metro. The metropolis’s subway system is efficient and easy to navigate, with six extraordinary traces covering the entire city and surrounding areas. The Metro is particularly beneficial for reaching sights that are farther apart or for exploring neighborhoods outside the city center.
4. Best Place To Stay For A 4 Days Washington DC Itinerary
When it comes to deciding on accommodation for your four-day stay in Washington, DC, it’s important to consider factors such as location, budget, and services. Staying inside the metropolis center or near the National Mall will provide you with easy access to the main attractions and will let you make the most of your time. There are numerous options available, from luxury hotels to budget-friendly accommodations and vacation rentals.
Some popular hotels in Washington DC include:
The Willard InterContinental: Located just steps away from the White House, this historic hotel offers luxury accommodations and impeccable service.
The Watergate Hotel: Made famous by the political scandal, this hotel offers stunning views of the Potomac River and modern, stylish rooms.
The Mayflower Hotel: Known as the “Grande Dame of Washington,” this hotel combines classic elegance with modern amenities and is conveniently located near the White House.
If you prefer a more budget-friendly option, there are also plenty of affordable hotels and vacation rentals available.
Finding Deals: Best Websites for Affordable Lodging
Expedia: Explore budget-friendly accommodation options on Expedia’s platform.
Booking.com: Find affordable hotels and vacation rentals through Booking.com.
Airbnb: Discover a variety of lodging options, including budget-friendly choices, on Airbnb.
5. Best Time to Visit Washington DC
Washington experiences four distinct seasons, each offering a unique experience. The best time to visit depends on your preferences and what you want to see and do in the city.
Spring (March to May): Spring is a famous time to visit Washington DC, as cherry blossoms bloom around the Tidal Basin, developing a lovely sight. The National Cherry Blossom Festival takes place throughout this time, attracting crowds of visitors.
Summer (June to August): Summers in Washington, DC can be warm and humid. However, it is also a vibrant time in the city. The outside areas come alive with fairs, live shows, and outside eating. However, be organized for larger crowds, in particular around the Fourth of July vacation.
Fall (September to November): Fall in D.C. brings cooler temperatures and beautiful foliage. It’s a great time to discover the city’s outdoor spaces, which include Rock Creek Park and the National Arboretum. The crowds additionally tend to be smaller as compared to the spring and summer months.
Winter (December to February): Winter in Washington, DC may be cold. However, it’s also a quieter time to go. The city is decorated with holiday decorations, and you can experience ice skating at the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden or visit the city’s renowned museums without the usual crowds.
Ultimately, the fine time to go to Washington DC depends on your alternatives for weather, crowds, specific events, or attractions you want to experience.

First and foremost, you want to make sure the company you choose is reliable. If you don’t arrive at the airport on time, what’s the point of relying on a car service in the first place?
When your flight will be returning, you want a company that will monitor incoming flights to ensure somebody is there to meet you when your plane arrives, even if it comes in late due to weather related delays or mechanical issues.
Safety should also be important.
When it comes to any Baltimore Airport Car Service, safety should be one of their top priorities. If it’s not, if they have a history of getting involved in accidents or putting clients at risk, run the other way.

A quality Baltimore Airport Limo should be reliable.
Reliability is essential. They should have the latest GPS navigation equipment installed on every vehicle, drivers who are incredibly knowledgeable about the area roads, and that should help them get around almost any delay, from accidents to construction, and anything else.
