by the WAY people are not gonna buy your stuff online if the shipping costs literally just as much as the product.

at least if they are in any way not super financially privileged lol.

selling a $10 product for #3 does not mean anything if the shipping is $7.99.

i know it's frustrating because people wont look at your items as impulsively but you gotta offer free shipping and just price the product high enough to at least cover the shipping cost. this is much more straightforward and more likely for someone to go through with their buy if they're not hit with a bunch of surprise fees right at the end (this is why i never shop online outside of mercari/ebay).

One of the kind ones explained to me that it's very risky for them because it happens often that with the cheapest option the package ends up being lost and they have to refund the buyer - but really there is no reason to be as harsh as most of them were... As I told this person I completely understand.

I also love Mercari for selling things I no longer want, need or use. Mercari is an amazing platform. Although they do take a listing and seller fee out right when the item is sold unlike when eBay used to wait it is not as bad.

Not me avoiding private messages on eBay because 3 sellers out of 5 have been unnecessarily rude to me for no reason at all when I very kindly asked if it was possible to find a cheaper solution for the shipping (adding "if you can’t it's not a problem" at the end of every message because I was afraid of getting this exact type of reaction). I really need to buy those rare books but I can't deal with people being so aggressive, I'm already crying every day lately exactly because of this (to put it very shortly, I have so many reasons to cry and feel scared and disheartened).
