For yumeshippers: Do you ever get lonely for your F/O, or just want to listen to the sound of their voice? Here's how to find immersive audio CD's of your F/O!
"What's that?"
If you self ship with a male anime or Japanese video game character, there's a pretty good chance that they've voice acted in some form of immersive situation CD (Adult, completely SFW, or somewhere in between)! These CD's are recorded on a high quality microphone called a dummy head mic that uses spatial audio to make it sound like the speaker is right next to the listener. Furthermore, they are written in a way that fosters intimacy by speaking directly to the listener, and thus are a wonderful way to feel closer to your F/O!
Be aware that for steamy CD'S, many voice actors perform under one (or one hundred...) aliases, so certain works may or may not appear under the drama cd category of their Wikipedia page. One good way other than Google to learn a seiyuu's aliases is to check on VNDB. Who knows, they might even go by awful stage names like "Onemore Chance" or "Kevin Spicey" (No, I didn't make those up...)
"Wow, how do I buy them?"
PokeDora: Has a great selection and a nifty app! With this and all other JP sites, be sure to copy and paste the desired actor's name in JP characters ("岸尾 だいすけCD" instead of "Daisuke Kishio")
DLSite Garumani: Very easy to navigate and purchase from as an English speaker! But beware, despite containing plenty of all-ages CD's, expect to see lots of R18 plastered all over the homepage!
"Long live physical media! I wanna use my CD player!"
Amazon JP: Can ship directly to America!
JP Mercari: Great for used copies and outdated/obscure CD's for cheap! Beware, though, that you'll have to use Buyee or another proxy service like FromJapan, and that is... not always cheap.
Animate International: If the international version doesn't have what you need, you can use a proxy to import from the JP ver.
CDJapan: Never shopped here myself, but another popular option.
Stellaworth: Confusing, but a haven to women everywhere.
Check if you have a Japanese goods shop in your local area, like a Bookoff! I have found incredible stuff there!
"I don't want to spend any money..."
Fair enough! There are lots of places to listen for free! If you really like something though, I recommend downloading it before it's gone!
Such as:
Billibilli (The holy grail!)
Soundcloud (Often listed under English titles)
Youtube
I hope you are able to find some awesome drama CD's, and that you get to feel comforted (or excited) by your fictional love's voice! Even if this post is old, feel free to ask me for some help!
Happy selfshipping!

ruminating on the confluence of features that prevent people from getting into new music... people do rely on trusted friends to tell them what's cool instead of figuring it out for themselves. most people rely on hearing it from multiple people at once and calling it "buzz," and that's not so much a result of influencer marketing as the original cause of it, but it's nevertheless incredibly susceptible to covert marketing manipulation. labels benefit from recycling old music that they still hold one of the copyrights to. monopolizing the industry with a few huge names collimates profits towards the most amenable contracts (again, for the label) and of course i do understand why swarming toward bigger names is more fun, because there are more people there
radio frequency allocation has long since been chopped up and sold off to uh, several churches (who mostly hold AM talk radio, so that's irrelevant) and a handful of radio station holding companies, so it's trivial to buy airplay for payola when you can book the whole country in one perfunctory email, to a company your label established a relationship with long ago because it's been the only game in town (and who even still listens to radio anyway, besides the workforce where devices aren't allowed, arguably a larger portion of the music-listening public than streaming subscribers)
and just down at the base of it, liking music is made out of familiarity. you like what you've spent time with, so it's simply more difficult to find likeable new music instead of putting the same old favored tracks on repeat. i just did this with jill scott's debut album, had it playing in my car for solidly six weeks until i got a new kali uchis cd (who i already know and like). because fundamentally it was unobjectionable, relatable, and easy to listen to (unlike, i hate to say it, miseducation of lauryn hill, which was an extremely difficult listen that i could only stomach about twice because she was trying to play israel/palestine bothsidesism long before anybody else). and that's part of the problem too -- nobody wants to get into an artist of their own volition only to be slapped with an unacceptable controversy
on top of that, most of the time it's a slog through a neverending stream of mediocrity to find something good, overlooking mediocre lyrics to focus on good production or vice versa. even at best, your local "music guy" is always getting there from the "similar artists" feature on any number of services. and even beyond that, when you really get down to brass tacks and follow a bunch of music publications on RSS, you spend a lot of time scrolling past an unappealing headline and thumbnail going "ugh, who?" until somebody gets two articles published about them and thus seems familiar. and even still, knowing all this, i'm going "WHAT do i have to do to cultivate a following willing to be the first like on a soundcloud link" and trying to sidestep the problem by reblogging somebody else's post of the same link, thus gifting it the illusion of review by two separate parties, which still doesn't work because nobody comes to the infinite scroll website to stop scrolling and listen. extremely dismal state of affairs for the information superhighway and i haven't even touched on the death of piracy

Veterans’ Path, 2019.
This year’s one for stasis, an equilibrium that gave no leeway for possibility or moves. It’s not a good feeling when you’re dealing with depression after a major heartbreaker and you need some serious outs to move on. You leave it in someone’s hands to help make some of those changes. Instead, they fall short and constantly buy time, your time you’ll never have back. It doesn’t help any when doctor’s appointments, meetings with investors, pending vacation-weeks, the desire to escape to the city and see family are on the backburner for months instead of mere days, so things are never answered for. Everyday you deal with toxic, needy people who literally drain you of your resources for their own personal needs without any etiquette or consideration of your well-being or sanity. You bleed money for their failures and mistakes. You sit idle while you see your friends, allies, family, and everyday people make moves while your hands are tied tightly behind your back and there’s nothing you can do about it.
So what can you do when the high cost of auto repairs, late inspections, and the constant delivery of traffic violations and tickets keep you grounded? Nothing…except take a walk down to your local veteran’s path on your days off. It’s been the only form of escapism and a reprieve of leaving behind the disruptive anxiety-driving components back home. Walk out the front door, then along the service road and under the highway, down one clean residential street, turn a couple of corners, down another street where houses and open skies phase into heavily wooded areas, and finally you’re there.
Arrive at the veteran’s path where there’s always a pick-up game on the asphalt. Families of three, five, even seven – some with their kids on tricycles or dogs – walk together through elevated wooden plankways that zig-zag though the trees. Smell the sharp scent of apples, shampoo, or shades of ocean mist just by walking past the young Spanish girls who kindly smile and say ‘hi’ to you as you walk past them. Trees of emerald leaves in the spring or red, orange, and yellow leaves in the Autumn stand above a newly-replenished pond creating a mesmerizing near-perfect reflection. Walk off the pathways for the many heavily-wooded dirt roads or walk past the pond to find a hidden treasure: the graffiti tunnel doubling as an underpass for the railroad tracks above. Leave the veteran’s path and wash your hands at the bathroom which reeks of a church cellar and its’ soap dispensers pour out liquid lavender that makes a subtle mark on your trek. Two hours is enough time to dismiss your troubles, sort out your next moves, and even make a phone call or two to your family; all before arrive home right before sundown to catch up on the rest of the day’s posting, graphics, editing, and auditioning. Another quiet, peaceful day written in the record books.
Of course, I wouldn’t have an afternoon walk without something to listen to. My iPhone SE (32GB) replaced my seven year-old iPod Classic (160GB). With limited space, I only take about three months of finds with me. Those two hours of walking means I have more time to audition music for upcoming Omega WUSB shows. What’s in it, then? In case you truly care, it’s mostly city: d.i.y, safe-space, post-punk, indie. You can thank some of my friends and allies at the station for the first four. You can also thank Post-Trash, Brooklyn Vegan, Gold Flake Paint, and Alt-Citizen; all whose featured shining stars post their new sounds on Bandcamp and Soundcloud.
Jazz / fusion has taken me to places that no longer exist; places I never been to that I could never visit in a physical realm ever again. It makes me feel things only a very few can now imagine or understand. If someone lived or experienced it vicariously through the passing images, typesets, colors, aesthetics, and sounds that I have, then you’d understand.
Post-punk, d.i.y., or city? Not so much. The time is now and is very much alive, thriving and changing by the year because it’s here. Aesthetics of Wharf Cat, Katorga Works, Public Practice’s Distance Is A Mirror, Future Punx’s This Is Post-Wave, Gong Gong Gong’s Phantom Rhythm, Current Affairs, Boulders, Merchandise…I assure you get it by now. They, too, made me feel things to my own liking while many others in the scene are simply living in it. My aforementioned friends at the station: Conor, Layne, Toasty, Alosha, Kiki of Horrorscope… they bring their d.y.i. / city mindset to the station and it’s why Omega WUSB is feeling very proud of itself. As all this cycles in my head, it feels like I’m living another life, a life I’ve been trying to achieve. Scenarios I envision can be entirely possible and are waiting for me. I truly feel like I’m somewhere else; a place that’s very real but still far away from me…for now. That’s how powerful the connection is.
It’s been a void year for me, and such an anti-climactic way to end the decade. Only fitting after having a very wild year of extreme euphoria and collapse. The several trips to-and-from Veteran’s Path was the only thing I had to myself this year aside from a rainy Spring day out at Central Park. As a creator, you do your best in making something out of what you have. All you need is a time, location, soundtrack, and motive, and you have the makings of a new experience; a new mechanism for surviving an empty era.

There’s so much more than all the post-punk and d.i.y. I found. It wouldn’t be fair to ignore our rule of “as it happens, when it happens, anything goes.” The jazz / fusion time-and-space travel is still very much in operation. Down further is our new-found interest in Oakland / Mexican death-rock. Omega WUSB didn’t have a Halloween special this year so it didn’t get its’ day in the darkness. (Were you expecting sunshine?). Finally, some random spins of the wheel in synthpop, synthwave, electronics, hip-hop, and hardcore.

something im not seeing discussed w the devi mccallion streaming service issues stuff, esp now that its getting media coverage - when i was a teenager producing for soundcloud rappers i remember a thing that would happen sometimes is people would go on the scam forums or wherever and buy hundreds of thousands of botted streams for artists they had internet beef w specifically so they'd get flagged + demonetized by the streaming services they were on, and it would always be an insanely annoying process to dispute this, and there wasn't really any defense against it it's insane that this is STILL an issue. it's very likely intentional harassment

ooh, interesting! i find the sound of them quite comforting, i think i will miss it whenever i move. i am glad you are somewhere quieter now though! i take it her words were true? i am honestly quite anxious about driving, which is why i have been putting it off, but it is unfortunately a must.
is that not the dream, having every cat? ours are siblings, both grey american shorthairs. they are mirai (our diva) and amuro (the one who likes to sit on faces).. funnily enough, their previous owners named them after the gundam characters, which is how i got into it! i was curious.... aww, that is quite sweet as well. ours mostly stay with my mom, but they always come to me when she is not around.
aaahhh.... i do not want you to feel unheard. i do not use many either, but sometimes i like to look at them. that is quite a lovely meaning, i can see why it stuck with you! that is not very good.. RIGHT! why adapt something if you are not going to be true to it?! i am glad you liked the song, if you want to listen to more, some people have uploaded some of them (but not all! sadly) on soundcloud.. nothing except the opening/ending has ever been officially released online, the only way to get the albums is to buy the cds. maybe one day i can have them. haah, you would watch something because i like it? you flatter me.
scratches my neck.. aah i am not good with my words! i do indeed like you a great amount. Feelings are definitely developing.. i do find myself thinking about you more often than not. i had meant to keep that a secret a little longer, but ah well.. i suppose it is better to state your feelings directly than hide them.
i am quite curious about your delay now.... though i had one as well, i meant to respond many hours ago, but the election over here does have me quite stressed out. i am so stressed it is making it hard to think straight!
I do not like loud noises as they make my brain feel uncomfortable . . . sometimes even people speaking too loudly will set me off, I wish you a trainful future! They were . . . I also zone out every few minutes involuntarily, so I think I would be more of a danger to the road than anything, I know people my age who drive though, I’m sure you’ll be a natural, in future you could live somewhere that’s less reliant on cars, perhaps.
You are right, that is the dream, all the kitties, I can pet them whenever I please. Those are such cute names Oh My ! Do you have any pictures of them? I’d love to see. I have not seen gundam, is it good? I have not seen a lot of things actually . . as you may have gathered. Mine will just go to whoever gives him the most attention, though he will often stand and scream outside of my door.
You do not make me feel like that, so fret not! I did not even like the person who told me it, that was the only meaninful thing that insect ever said. I will look for them once I am in the mood to listen to new music, sometimes my brain is not very open to things, I do not know what it’s problem is. That is how it used to be with enstars until ringing evil phone came and every. single song was added on streaming services after eight years . . i remember the soundcloud days . . I hope you will be able to have them. Yes, I would.
I am actually Going to explode. ahhh. I like you as well, a lot. I realised it two days ago I believe . . I do not know if you realised, some of my vague posts are about you. I may or may not have also spent yesterdays class writing affirmations that you liked me in my notebook. . . looking away I’m cherishing your feelings, I hope that you’ll continue in giving them to me, if you’ll allow me to be greedy. I have been thinking of you a lot as well, I do not know where it came from, one night I just found myself wondering, about you, then before I knew it you were the last thing i’d think about before sleeping. I’m glad that you told me, I liked your directness, even though I didn’t expect your words, I think that made it even..nicer to hear them. I was quite anxious, but now knowing you are the same, I’m ever so happy.
The delay was because. ah. I read the ‘ I like you an awful lot ‘ and got so excited I had to lay down and vibrate for a while, I cannot think of a better word for it. I do it when I get an overly positive emotion. this is very silly to admit. Perhaps I got flustered from such simple words but, who knows. I am sorry, I am aware of what the results are , I think? I am not american so I do not know of how set things are at this point, but I hope you’re doing okay. I’m here for you if you need support or anyone to talk to about it, i know what came of it is dreadful.

Reviving this old blog to let y'all know I've got something sk8 related coming 👀
It's basically fanfic but in song form BUT this is not me plugging my music to make $$ I will be uploading the song to soundcloud so even if you don't wanna buy it and refuse to use streaming services that give artists money (like spotify or youtube) you can still listen to it
The song is called Infinity and I wrote it wayyyy back when I first watched sk8, then recorded it last year, wasn't happy with the first mix and didn't touch it until almost a year later... it's been finished for weeks now but I had to get the cover for the single and the pic for fhe youtube video in order first which took some time (especially with my very sporadic but explosive motivation)
It's gonna be released August 4th 2023 under the name Infinity (DEMO) by Comet in loads of stores, on most streaming platforms and on SoundCloud
Again I don't want ur money I just want the right people to hear the song that I wrote specifically for Renga 🥲
Also just in case this breaches containment: WE DO NOT TELL ANYONE OUTSIDE OF TUMBLR WHO THE SONG IS ABOUT 👀
#some people write fanfic#i write songs about my blorbos#because thats how i process stuff#i write vaguely but also super obviously fandom related songs#renga#sk8 the infinity#sk8#comet 🌠

Rich Amiri Announces Tour as "One Call" Continues to Climb Charts
With his effortless flexes and velvety, soulful vocals, Rich Amiri is one of the most exciting rising artists in music today. The Internet Money/10K Projects signee has a bonafide hit on his hands, with the Billboard Hot 100-charting "One Call." Capitalizing on his massive hit, which held at #60 on the Hot 100 this week, the 20-year-old artist announces the "Fabulous Tour," embarking this April.
Criss-crossing North America for 18 dates, the upcoming "Fabulous Tour" is Rich Amiri's first-ever national headlining tour. Featuring support from his fellow SoundCloud wunderkind Jaydes, the tour kicks off in Toronto, CA on April 18, passing through NYC (May 3), Atlanta (May 8), and more before ending in Los Angeles on May 23. Amiri warmed up for the tour in February with a homecoming show in his native Boston and a performance opening for his mentor Lil Tecca in New York City. Rich will join Lil Tecca on dates on four West Coast dates later this month (see below). Tickets for Rich Amiri's shows can be purchased at RichAmiri.com, while tickets for his performances opening for Lil Tecca HERE
A highlight from his late-2023 album GHETTO FABULOUS, Rich Amiri's "One Call" has become one of the biggest rap hits of 2024 so far. It made its Billboard Hot 100 debut during the week of February 10th, entering the chart at #79, and has since spent 5 weeks on the chart with a #60 peak. Produced by Rio Leyva (of Internet Money) and Zuko, the song has racked up over 100 million streams on Spotify, including over 6 million streams in the last week to reach #19 on the service's Top Songs - USA chart, plus 7.4 million views on its music video. "One Call" gained viral traction on TikTok, inspiring nearly 1 million combined video creations and peaking at #2 on Billboard's TikTok Top 50 chart. Rich Amiri recently spoke about "One Call" and his rapid rise in an interview with HYPEBEAST.
Spanning 14 tracks, GHETTO FABULOUS features some of Internet Money's most luxurious production to date–Rio Leyva takes the helm behind boards, with credits on 12 of the project's 14 tracks, welcoming contributions from IM fellows like founder Taz Taylor, Census, and ThankYouWill, plus unaffiliated associates like Zuko and maxvon. Shouldering the load with no features necessary, Amiri takes advantage of the room-enveloping production, his bellowing bass cutting through the cavernous atmosphere with commanding authority and unpredictable melodics. Beyond "One Call," the album is home to hit singles like "Ain't Nothing" (12.6 million Spotify streams), "Codeine Crazy" (5.7 million Spotify streams) and "Outta There" (5.8 million Spotify streams). GHETTO FABULOUS is available everywhere via Internet Money Records/10K Projects.
Stay tuned for more music and videos from Rich Amiri coming soon, and check him out live on March 17th at Rolling Loud California.
