"Why people are breeding them today, I haven't got a clue."
"It was a gimmick. No-one wanted a crossbreed but everybody wanted a labradoodle. Same dog, different name."
"I find that the biggest majority are either crazy or have a hereditary problem. I do see some damn nice labradoodles but they're few and far between."
#begging everybody to never buy one of these#rescue fine but dear god put an end to this nonsense “breed”#just had to get on my soapbox for a moment about this one. a coworker recently got one and has no goddamn clue what it is or will become.#labradoodle

Welcoming a furry friend into your life can be one of the most joyous and fulfilling experiences. Among the countless breeds available, the Australian Labradoodle stands out as a popular choice for its charming personality and low-shedding coat. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion, buying an Australian Labradoodle puppy might be the perfect decision. In this article, we'll explore the qualities that make Australian Labradoodles so special and direct you to a reputable source for purchasing these delightful pups.
Discover the Australian Labradoodle:
The Australian Labradoodle is a crossbreed that originated in Australia with the intention of creating a hypoallergenic guide dog for visually impaired individuals. The breed was achieved by crossing Labrador Retrievers, Poodles, and other breeds like the Irish Water Spaniel and the English Cocker Spaniel. The result was a remarkable combination of intelligence, affection, and gentleness.
One of the key features that distinguish Australian Labradoodles from other breeds is their non-shedding, allergy-friendly coats. This quality makes them an ideal choice for families with allergies or those seeking a low-maintenance pet. Additionally, their friendly and sociable nature makes them fantastic companions for families, seniors, and individuals alike.

Written for the lovely @pedrostories Secret Santa event 2023
My dear giftee is @katiexpunk, hope you like it! 💕
pairing: Joel Miller x f!reader
word count: 3.2k
summury: You moved into your new house six months ago, and you love your new home. It is spacious and has a lovely little garden, and it also just so happens to include the hottest single dad with the sweetest little girl you’ve ever met as your new neighbors. Over the months you have gotten to know them more and more. Little Sarah has fallen head over heels for your labradoodle Sofie and often comes over to play with her in your garden, and as you have gotten to know him more and more, you have fallen head over heels for her father, Joel.
note: Pre/no outbreak. Next door neighbors. Fluff. Baking. This is the first fic i've written in seven months, so sorry for being super duper rusty. English isn't my native language. This was supposed to be something completely different, but my laptop broke, (the 'screen part' literally just fell off?!) so I didn't have near as much time for this as I would have preferred, so sorry if this seemed rushed (it sadly was). But nonetheless, happy holidays ya'll! I'm so happy to be back, and aiming to write much more again in the new year ♥︎
Joel stands in the kitchen, staring hopelessly at the empty sugar canister while cursing under his breath, feeling the dull pressure behind his eyes and nasal cavity which usually indicates an incoming tension headache. He had been sure that it was full, but no, it’s as empty as his hope for successfully making these damn muffins. The curse words escape his lips like a symphony of frustration, echoing off the empty walls of the kitchen. Joel can feel the frustration sinking into his bones.
He had promised Sarah that he would bake muffins for her school function, despite not being a very good nor patient baker. But he would do anything to make his little girl happy. He had thought that they could bake them together, that it would be a fun father-daughter activity, but work and chores and Sarah’s soccer practice and honestly just life in general had gotten in the way of those plans.
So now he stands here, the night before Sarah needs the muffins, without one of the most essential ingredients. It’s late, way past Sarah’s bedtime, who is sleeping soundly in her room. Joel would have to wake her up and take her with him if he’s going out to buy more sugar. But he really doesn’t want to wake her, she needs her sleep, but there is also no way in hell he’s leaving her alone while he runs to the store even if she’s just sleeping.
As he stands here contemplating his options, you appear in his mind. You do that frighteningly often these days, and deep down he knows exactly why, but he has to suppress it. He is too busy, and too grown, to go around getting crushes on pretty women with cute dogs who move into houses next door to him, and who is always so sweet and funny, and who is so sweet and nice to his daughter, and…. No. He has to stop this. He shouldn’t think about you like this.
He is mature enough to admit to himself that he is attracted to you, very attracted to you, but admitting to the feelings he has caught is a whole other can of worms, which he is not going to even attempt to look into. He is a single dad to a six year old, focused on taking care of his daughter and providing for her needs.
But in this moment, as he stands in the kitchen with an empty sugar canister mocking him, he feels a tug in his heart, a desperate need for help. He reluctantly gives in to the idea that perhaps you might have some sugar to spare…
It would be nice to see you, but he also really doesn’t want to disturb you, and something about knocking at your door this late at night gives him a funny feeling in his stomach.
Joel shakes his head, trying to clear his thoughts as he focuses on the task at hand. He glances at the clock on the wall, realizing that time is slipping away. With a sigh, he reluctantly decides that he has no choice but to go next door and ask you for some sugar.
As he walks across the lawn and up to your front door, Joel can feel his heart racing. Why does he feel so nervous about such a simple request? He hesitates for a moment, contemplating whether he should knock or just turn around and forget about the whole thing. But the thought of disappointing Sarah and ruining her school event pushes him forward. He takes a deep breath and knocks on the door, attempting to calm his racing thoughts.
Shortly after, the door swings open, and there you are, standing with a warm smile on your face. Your eyes light up as you see Joel, and Sofie, your adorable dog happily greets him as well. Joel can’t help but feel his heartbeat quicken even more at the sight of you.
“Hi,“ you smile at him. “What brings you here at this hour?” you ask curiously.
Joel awkwardly shifts his weight from one foot to the other, his nerves getting the best of him. “I hate to bother you, but I’m in a bit of a jam. I promised Sarah I would bake muffins for a thing at her school tomorrow, but I ran out of sugar. Do you, by any chance, have some to spare?"
Your smile widens, and you tilt your head slightly. “Of course, I’d be happy to help you out. Come on in, I’ll grab it for you.”
Joel breathes a sigh of relief as you invite him inside. He steps into your warm and inviting home, noticing the pleasant aroma from what he guess must be a scented candle or something of the sort. It feels comforting and familiar, contrasting with the chaos and frustration that he left behind in his own kitchen.
He follows you into your kitchen, taking in the sight of the cozy space. The countertops are clutter-free, and a few potted herbs sit on the windowsill, basking in the moonlight. It’s a stark contrast to his own kitchen, which is always a whirlwind of activity and unfinished tasks.
As you retrieve the sugar from your well-stocked pantry, Joel can’t help but admire the ease with which you move around the kitchen. Your familiarity with the tools and ingredients is evident, invoking a sense of calm in him. He wonders how you manage to maintain such a serene environment amidst the chaos of daily life.
Unable to contain his curiosity any longer, Joel finally musters the courage to ask, “How do you do it? How do you manage to keep everything so neat?”
You pause for a moment, a kind smile on your face as you hand Joel the sugar. “Well, for starters, I don’t have a kid," you chuckle, “and I guess it’s just about priorities, and since I work from home, I find that having a clean and organized space helps me stay focused and reduces unnecessary stress.”
Joel nods at your answer. He can’t help but admire how put-together you seem, both in your home and in your life. It’s something he strives for but often falls short of, with the chaos that comes with being a single parent.
“You’re doing really well by the way,” you smile at him, interrupting his thoughts, as if you can sense his doubts. “Sarah is really lucky to have you.” Joel’s cheeks flush at your compliment, feeling a wave of gratitude wash over him. He never believed he was doing enough for Sarah, constantly doubting himself as a parent. But your words validate his efforts and provide a much-needed boost of confidence. “Thank you,” he says softly, a mixture of appreciation and relief lacing his voice. “I always worry that I’m not doing enough, that…” he pauses.
Your expression is filled with understanding. “I can’t talk from experience, but I know that parenting is never easy. But trust me, Joel, Sarah knows how much you love her and how much you’re doing for her. And I think you are doing a wonderful job,” Joel’s eyes meet yours, and he sees genuine sincerity reflected in them. It’s as if a weight has been lifted off his shoulders, the burden of his self-imposed expectations slowly dissipating. You speak with such warmth and wisdom, Joel’s heart swells with gratitude for your presence in his life. He never imagined that a simple request for sugar would lead to such a meaningful conversation.
“Thank you,” Joel says, his voice filled with genuine gratitude. “That means more to me than you’ll ever know.”
You smile warmly at him, reaching out to gently squeeze his arm. “Joel, you’re a great dad. Don’t ever doubt yourself.” As Joel thanks you once again, he can’t help but feel a warmth spreading throughout his heart. It’s a feeling he hasn’t experienced in a long time, and it fills him with a sense of hope and possibility. Before he leaves, Joel can’t help but ask, “Would you wanna come over for dinner sometime? I am a much better cook than baker and Sarah has begged me to have you and Sofie over and visit.”
You smile and nod, your eyes sparkling with excitement. “I would love that, Joel.”
Joel feels a surge of warmth, at your smile. Thanking you again he turns to leave, sugar in hand, he musters up the courage to say one last thing. “I’m happy that it was you who moved in next to us. It’s been nice getting to know you and having you around.”
You smile warmly, your eyes twinkling, and an almost bashful expression on your face which catches Joel a little off guard. “Likewise, Joel. I’m always here if you need anything, whether it’s sugar or just someone to talk to.” you add the last part with a teasing smile, but the sincerity in your words are clear.
“I really appreciate that,” Joel says, his voice filled with sincerity.
“And just so you know…” you give him a bashful smile.“That includes help with baking muffins.”
Joel feels how his stomach does a flip as he understands what you’re saying. “Would you like to help me bake some muffins?”
“I’d love to,” you say happily, your smile growing and Joel can’t help but feel a sense of excitement through his body. “I’ll be over at yours in ten, how’d that sound?” you ask.
Joel’s heart leaps at the thought of spending more time with you. “Sounds good to me.”
“Cool, see you in ten then.” You grin at him. Joel smiles back at you, feeling a sense of anticipation building within him.
As Joel heads back to his house, sugar in hand he can’t help but smile, he had been so tired and frustrated only a little while ago, but now he suddenly feels fully recharged.
____
Ten minutes… You have ten minutes to make yourself look somewhat decent, in a casual, ‘I’m just going over to my extremely attractive dilf neighbor whom I have a big fat stupid crush on’ way. No pressure at all.
As you race to your bathroom to check yourself over in the mirror, you take a deep breath to calm your racing heart. You touch up your makeup, adding a touch of lip gloss and swipe on a new coat of mascara, you brush your teeth, and spritz on a little perfume. After making sure you look presentable, you opt for a comfortable yet cute outfit, realizing that you don’t want to come off as too overdone.
Satisfied with your appearance, you grab a small container of homemade blueberry jam from your fridge. It may not be muffins, but it’s a sweet treat that you can bring to share. With jam in hand, you head out the door, your heart fluttering with anticipation.
As you approach Joel’s house, you can’t help but appreciate the calmness of the night. The moon shines brightly above, casting a soft glow on the neighborhood. You hear the faint sound of crickets chirping, and the warm breeze carries the scent of blooming flowers. Everything feels serene and magical, heightening your excitement.
You reach Joel’s doorstep and take a moment to collect yourself. You remind yourself to be casual and relaxed, even though your heart is pounding in your chest. With a steadying breath, you knock on the door.
Joel opens it with a warm smile, and you instantly feel at ease. His eyes light up as they land on you, and you can't help but blush under his gaze. “Hi,” he greets you softly. “I'm so glad you could make it.”
You return his smile, extending the container of blueberry jam towards him. “I brought some homemade jam. I thought it would be nice with the muffins and I remember Sarah telling me she loves blueberries.”
Joel's eyes widen in pleasant surprise, and his smile widens. “That is so thoughtful of you. Thank you, darlin’.”
‘Darlin’...’ Your heart flutters at the endearment as you step inside his house, the word falling so naturally from his lips. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee fills the air, mingling with the scent of warmth and comfort. It’s a homey and cozy feeling that instantly puts you at ease.
As you enter the kitchen, you notice the ingredients for the muffins laid out, ready to be used. There’s a twinkle of anticipation in Joel’s eyes as he gestures towards them. “Do you want to get started?”
You nod eagerly, not wanting to waste any more time. “Definitely. Let’s make these muffins amazing.”
For the next few hours, you and Joel work side by side, measuring ingredients, mixing, and chatting as you go. The conversation flows effortlessly between you, ranging from lighthearted jokes to more personal stories, and the atmosphere somehow turns more and more flirty, making excited butterflies flutter in your stomach. With each moment, you can feel the connection between you deepening, like ingredients coming together to create a perfect blend.
As the muffins bake in the oven, filling the kitchen with their delicious scent, the two of you take a well-deserved break. Joel pours two cups of coffee, and you find yourselves sitting at his kitchen table, sipping the warm brew in comfortable silence.
The soft glow of the overhead light casts a warm and cozy ambiance over the room. Despite the tiredness in his eyes from a long day, a smile tugs at the corners of Joel’s lips as he watches you take a sip of your coffee. There’s a comfortable silence that envelops the two of you, a sense of ease and contentment that comes from being in each other’s company.
As you set your cup down, you turn to Joel, your eyes filled with a mix of playfulness and sincerity. “You know, Joel, I have to say. These muffins wouldn’t have turned out as amazing as they did without your expert baking skills.” A teasing smirk dances on your lips.
Joel chuckles softly, his eyes crinkling at the corners. “Well, I may have had a little help from a certain someone,” he says, a hint of affection lacing his voice.
You playfully nudge him with your shoulder. “Oh, so now I’m just your personal baking assistant, am I?” you retort, pretending to be slightly offended.
Joel’s smile widens, his eyes sparkling with humor. “No, no, not at all. You’re so much more than that,” he reassures you, his voice brimming with sincerity. “You’ve brought light into my life, darlin’. Ever since you moved in next door, things just feel...better.”
The warmth in Joel’s words seeps into your heart, igniting a deep stirring within you. A connection that goes beyond the simple act of baking muffins is forming between the two of you, growing stronger with each passing moment.
Before you know it, the timer for the muffins goes off, snapping both of you out of the gentle bubble you’ve created. You share a laugh, realizing that you may have gotten carried away in the moment.
Joel stands up and walks over to the oven, his movements fluid and confident. He takes a deep breath, a look of anticipation on his face. “Well, here goes nothing,” he mutters to himself as he opens the oven door and retrieves the tray of freshly baked muffins.
The delightful aroma wafts through the kitchen, filling the air with its tantalizing scent. Joel carefully sets the tray down on the counter, the muffins still warm to the touch. He reaches for a plate and begins arranging the muffins, creating a beautiful display.
You watch him with admiration, seeing the dedication and love he pours into everything he does. In that moment, you can’t help but feel an overwhelming surge of affection towards him.
As you join him by the counter, your hands instinctively reach out to brush against each other, sending a spark of electricity up your arms. Your eyes meet, and in that instant, everything else fades away. It's just the two of you, connected in a way that feels destined.
Joel's gaze is warm as he gazes at you, and his voice is filled with sincerity as he speaks. "I just want you to know how grateful I am for your help, for everything. You've brought so much happiness into our lives."
You smile softly at him, feeling your heart swell with affection. “The feeling is mutual, Joel.”
Joel takes a step closer, his gaze unwavering and filled with a mix of vulnerability and longing. You can’t help but notice how his gaze keeps darting from your eyes to your lips, and you feel your own heartbeat quickens in response, but a sudden surge of bravery fills you as well. You can’t just be imagining this. “You can if you want, you know.” you whisper.
You can almost see how Joel’s breath catches in his throat by your words, his eyes widening slightly in surprise. He searches your face, trying to comprehend your words. “If I want...what?” he asks, his tone laced with both curiosity and hope.
A soft smile graces your lips as you reach out to gently take his hand in yours. “You can kiss me,” you say, your voice barely above a whisper. “If you want.”
“I want to, more than anything.” He brings his free hand up to gently cup your cheek, his fingers grazing your skin with tender affection.
With bated breath, the world seems to stand still as your faces draw closer together. The anticipation hangs in the air like an electric current, and as your lips finally meet, it feels like a rush of warmth cascading throughout your bodies.
The kiss is soft, tender, and filled with an underlying passion that has been building between you. It's a culmination of longing, uncertainty, and hope, all coming together in that single moment of connection.
As your lips move against each other, the outside world fades away, and all that matters is the tenderness you share. Time seems to stretch, allowing you to savor each second of this newfound intimacy.
When you finally break apart, breathing slightly heavier, Joel's eyes search yours, seeking reassurance and confirmation. "Was that okay?" he asks, his voice laced with vulnerability.
You smile warmly at him, a sparkle in your eyes. “More than okay,” you reply, your voice filled with sincerity. “It was everything I hoped it would be.”
A wave of relief washes over Joel as he pulls you into a gentle embrace, his arms enveloping you in a sense of security. Resting his chin on the top of your head, he whispers, “I'm glad, because I've been wanting to do that for a long time.”
And in that moment, as you stand in Joel's warm embrace, you realize that sometimes the sweetest moments in life come unexpectedly. As you snuggle into his embrace, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat against your cheek, you can't help but be grateful for the empty sugar canister and the twist of fate that brought you together. Love has a funny way of sneaking up on people, and you can’t wait to see where this new chapter with Joel and Sarah takes you. With muffins in the oven and love blossoming in your hearts, this late-night adventure is just the beginning of a sweet, heartfelt journey together.

Golden Fluff - A Blonde!Max Maxley Tidbit
Being the Labradoodle that he is, and taking after his poodle mother Glory-Bee, Max's fur and hair grows faster than most other anthros do. And it takes a lot of work to keep his locks trim so that it doesn't weigh him down while skating. PJ and Bobby joked about how Max has bragging rights for life as a guy who willingly took up waxing and doesn't cry like a little baby-back b*%ch every time he does it. But recently, a new trend in fur care caught Max's attention. Anthros keep the fur on most of their bodies short but let the fur on their chest grow out. This is to accentuate the chest and make it more attractive with the added volume. It made Max stop and think for a moment. His chest fur is one of the things that grows out the most. And it would be nice to not have to worry about having to trim it for a while. So, with his mind made up, Max started to spare his chest from the terror of the clippers and actually shampooed, conditioning and brushed it to fluffed out perfection over the next week. It didn't take long for Max's chest to burst with fluff. So much so that he seemed to have illusionary breasts with how the fur puffed out. Not expecting this to happen Max made sure to wear more form fitting shirts so that people wouldn't notice right away. And they didn't. But Bradley Uppercrust the 3rd wasn't most people. Knowing that Max was more inclined to baggier clothing, seeing him wear shirts his size was an immediate tip-off. Something was up with his boyfriend. And Bradley was going to find out. After sending a nice little care package(bribe) to Bobby and PJ he was able to convince the pair to leave their dorm for a few hours so Bradley could be alone with Max. Naturally, the freshman was happy to see his dreamboat and invited him right in. It was casual talk to start - but then Bradley started asking why he was wearing tighter shirts. Max felt a cold sweat go down his neck at being potentially caught in his trend failure, so he tried to play it off and say that it was nothing. But Bradley knew better and wasn't buying it. Without another word he pinned Max to his bottom bunk bed and pulled up his shirt - expecting to see something awful like a scar from a skate trick gone wrong or something. Instead the Saluki was greeted to a bouncy palette of honey blonde fur. Bradley blinked a few times in surprise while Max was a blushing mess as he rapidly explained how he was trying a new fur care trend, and it didn't work out. Which is why he was hiding it under tighter shirts. Bradley remained silent - not saying anything. Then he moved his hands to experimentally touch Max's chest fluff. It was so soft, even after being held down by the tight shirt.
But the biggest surprise came from Max, who let out a soft moan at the touch. This made both young men freeze in surprise. Max's blush increased tenfold, and Bradley just stared at him for a while. Then a mischievous, lusty grin slowly broke out across the senior's face. "I beg to differ, Max. I think this new style works very well for you." Bradley made full use of those few hours alone with Max, and the blonde latter definitely enjoyed every second of those hours with his boyfriend.

A loyal dog that refused to leave his dead owner's side helped solve her murder by allowing detectives to identify her body, prosecutors said.
Mandy Rose Reynolds, 26, was shot before her body was “burned beyond recognition” in a field fire in Robinson, Texas. Police found her on April 5, 2023, the McLennan County District Attorney’s Office said in a release.
Her cousin Derek Daigneault, 29, of Wichita, Kansas, was sentenced to life in prison Thursday for her murder after an investigation that spanned two states, the DA's office said.
And one of the keys to identifying her was her white-haired labradoodle, Titan.
Police found Titan near her body, barking "frantically." He refused to leave the area and wouldn't allow police to capture him, prosecutors said.
The next morning, the body was removed, but a passerby found Titan sitting at the same spot. The good Samaritan called Robinson Animal Control, which found that Titan was microchipped and belonged to Reynolds.
“The keys to this case were a heroic and loyal dog named Titan and extraordinary cooperation between law enforcement agencies in multiple jurisdictions and states. That combination has delivered justice for Mandy and safety from a violent and dangerous criminal,” Assistant District Attorneys Ryan Calvert and Alyssa Killin said in a statement.
Robinson police then learned that Reynolds lived in San Marcos, Texas. San Marcos police were contacted and went to her home but found it empty, with all her possessions removed and her black Honda Accord missing, the news release said.
A license plate database revealed that the car was somewhere in Wichita.
Wichita police were alerted, and on April 8, 2023, they spotted her vehicle and tried to pull it over.
Daigneault was behind the wheel, and the stop attempt ended in a chase that lasted nearly 30 minutes and reached speeds of over 100 mph.
The Accord ultimately crashed into another vehicle, and Daigneault ran away into a nearby grocery store, where “he hid on a shelf behind canned goods,” the DA's office said.
Police found a .380 handgun in the driver’s seat floorboard when they searched Reynolds’ car in Wichita.
Meanwhile, back in Robinson, police determined that the body had been burned in a large plastic storage container, and they found a fired .380 shell casing that was burned inside the container, the release said.
Surveillance video from a Walmart in San Marcos showed Daigneault buying a large plastic storage container identical to the one Reynolds’ boy was burned in, a shovel and a gas can on the morning of April 4, 2023. Video also showed him leaving the store in Reynolds’ car and Titan sticking his head out the window.
The medical examiner eventually formally identified the body as Reynolds’ through dental records. It was determined she died from a gunshot wound to the head, and a .380 bullet was recovered from her remains.
The Texas Department of Public Safety crime lab confirmed the bullet found in her body and the shell casing found by Robinson police were both fired by the handgun in Daigneault's possession, the DA's office said.
Jason P. Darling, an attorney for Daigneault, said Tuesday: “Derek is obviously disappointed in the verdict and sentence. While we appreciate the jury’s work and effort in this case, Derek intends to appeal the verdict and has already filed his notice of appeal.”
As for Titan, the pup was adopted by Reynolds' best friend days after Reynolds died. Calvert told NBC News on Tuesday, "He is doing great!"

My mother and I are getting a dog (yay!) for free (even more yay because we cannot afford to buy a couple thousand dollar labradoodle rn) and so because of this I'm looking into how to train her to help me with my wheelchair and basically act as a service animal while training her myself to the best of my (and my mother's) abilities.
Anyways, does anyone have good Youtube channels on how to train dogs to wait at curbs, push open doors, etc? We're looking right now but figured it might be a good idea to ask for help.
Also the dog's name is Nala! She's a 3 year old labradoodle and we get her on Thursday. Will upload pictures and updates of how our cats react lol.

Nathan Crockett's primary business is Crockett Doodles.
I'm not linking to it. You can google it.
But if you see a Doodle anywhere in the lower 48, Nathan's business likely brokered that purchase. His business is that big.
Now. The ethics of pet breeding is way outside the scope of WutBJU. Way.
But briefly, we've all heard about puppy mills. We've all heard "adopt don't shop." We've all heard something like, "use a reputable breeder."
When our vet met our puppy, he asked us "have you met her mother?" That was his way of checking where we got our Black Lab and if it was a reputable breeder.
But in the range of designer dogs like "Doodles" -- a dog that is a mix of anything with a Poodle -- there are many bad actors.
Consistently, Crockett Doodles is listed as a very problematic source because
Crockett Doodles is a puppy mill broker.
From the Humane Society, a puppy mill broker:
is a pet dealer engaged in the business of re-selling puppies who were bred elsewhere. Unlike retail pet stores, brokers are middleman dealers who obtain puppies from breeders and puppy mills, and then transport and resell them. Brokers typically sell puppies to pet stores, but sometimes to research facilities, often travelling great distances to do so. In some cases the term is also used loosely to describe people who re-sell litters directly to the public that they themselves did not produce, for example, by posing at the original breeder and selling them through websites or classified ads.
Nathan Crockett is likely to respond to this post. He's very concerned about his business's reputation. If you find a post on reddit warning people about Crockett Doodles, Nate is always there to counter statements.
But here's a statement I want to amplify from Stop Online Puppy Mills:
Crockett Doodles is a website that lists for sale 10 to 15 different doodle mix dog breeds. This company is based in Greenville, SC. Why we do not recommend buying a puppy from CrockettDoodles.com CrockettDoodles.com The Crockett Doodles website claims they sell family raised puppies. They lists dozens and dozens of doodle puppies for sale of every kind and size imaginable. They have Aussiedoodle puppies, Bernedoodle puppies, Cavachon puppies, Cavapoo puppies, Cockapoo puppies, Goldendoodle puppies, Irishdoodle puppies, Labradoodle puppies, Maltipoo puppies, Newfiedoodle and Saint Berdoodles puppies, Sheepadoodles puppies, Springerdoodles (Sproodles) puppies, Swiss Doodle puppies and even Yorkipoos. That is a lot of dogs! Not only that, but they have also at least ten other “sister” or “partner” websites selling doodle and poo puppies as well. These “sister” or “partner” websites are landing pages of sorts for the specific doodle mix you are interested in, then it redirects you to CrockettDoodles.com at checkout. CrockettDoodles.com sells their puppies one way but they “market” they puppies on at least ten other websites. We consider CrockettDoodles.com along with all of their “sister” or “partner” websites to be high-volume online puppy sellers and we do not recommend buying puppies from CrockettDoodles.com. Crockett Doodles direct ships puppies and uses USDA amish dog breeders as Guardian families. The website uses the words “adopt” and “adoption” when you are actually buying the puppy and shelling out thousands to do so. The day you pay for the dog is called “adoption day” maybe to make you feel good about the transaction of paying thousands of dollars for an animal you have never met and are not allowed to see where it was born but will have for 15 plus years. As stated on their website, the costs of their puppies’ range in the $2,500-$4,000 which does not include the extra costs and delivery charges. Speaking of delivery, they will ship a puppy by ground delivery or flight nanny anywhere is the contiguous United States. We consider the shipping and delivery of puppies in these manners red flags. Crockett Doodles will let you pick up your puppy in person at a pickup location, but you are not allowed to go to the breeder’s “home” and meet the mother dog or see where your puppy was born. This is a huge red flag. In fact, we asked specific questions about the breeding dogs, how old and how many litters and they would not tell us anything. They decide which dog to match you up with from the checklist submitted by you the interested puppy buyer. They then send you a match and you decide from a picture if you will accept it. We do not recommend buying a puppy based off a picture ever and we never recommend buying a puppy from a website. The CrockettDoodles.com website is no exception. There are other red flags on their website that we don’t like but for the following reasons alone, we do not recommend buying a puppy from CrockettDoodles.com. Crockett Doodles uses USDA Amish dog breeders as Guardian “families.” They have up to 15 different dog breeds listed for sale at any one time, they list dozens and dozens of puppies for sale at any one time, they are not transparent about who the breeder of your puppy is before you buy it, nor will not let you go to the breeder’s home to see where your puppy was born. Lastly, they ship and deliver puppies all over the U.S. We do not recommend buying a puppy from the CrockettDoodles.com website. There are too many red flags. Please contact us if you have more questions about CrockettDoodles.com or would like to report a sick puppy.
So taking a "product" from the Indiana Amish and marketing it around the country, that's the model.
And that's a problem.

Thoughts on doodles?
Like, the dogs? Poodle mixes?
I may have a dog, but I'm really not a dog expert. I know some poodle mixes are questionable, but I don't know of anything ethically wrong with common poodle mixes like goldendoodles or labradoodles, beyond the obvious issues with any popular dog like backyard breeding and the like. My sister has a goldendoodle and he's a wonderful dog, but she was careful to pick a breeder who health tested the puppies, and he's still very high-maintenance grooming wise, he needs daily brushing and regular professional grooming. He's an awesome dog but definitely very high-maintenance, and as far as I'm aware that goes for pretty much any poodle mix - not great dogs if you don't want to go all-in on grooming.
I guess my thoughts are the same as with any dog breed, really - no breed/mix is right for everyone, so do your research, and if you're buying from a breeder, make sure they're reputable.

One of my controversial dog opinions is that doodles are, like, fine lmao. All of the reasons dog people clutch their pearls about doodles ('People get them without knowing the grooming requirements!' 'People get them without realizing they're high energy breeds!' 'Doodle breeders don't take care to ensure their lines are healthy!' etc) are just as applicable to purebred, kennel-club recognized breeds.
Also even with the 'People just get them because they're trendy' argument I would much rather someone buy a golden retriever-standard poodle cross cause it's a hip trendy dog to have than buy a fucking husky or something. (Also I am frankly not convinced that many people buy doodles just because it's trendy. I really do think it's just that doodle breeders tend to be a lot more accessible than purebred breeders and that a lot of areas have a lot of doodles so people are likely to meet a cute, friendly labradoodle or whatever and want a similar dog for themselves.)
Idk I have worked with many, many doodles in my time as a walker+working at doggy daycares, they've all been fine, and like I just do not think that the biggest problem in the dog world right now is that there are people producing less inbred dogs and selling them to suburbanites who like goldens and labs or whatever but want less shedding.

What Is a Micro Bully Puppy?
Micro Bullies represent one of the recent and most in-demand hybrid breeds in the American Bully family. These dogs closely resemble their larger counterparts but are the smallest and lightest version of the breed. Instead of being purebred, a Micro Bully is a combination of a Pocket Bully and a Patterdale Terrier. To elaborate further, the Pocket Bully, sometimes called a Pocket Pitbull, is a crossbreed of an American Bully and a Patterdale Terrier, resulting in a smaller size compared to the Standard Bully. The Micro Bully maintains the robust Bully appearance but is intentionally bred to be even smaller by introducing another Terrier into the mix. These hybrids fall under the category of Exotic Bully breeds and gained recognition as a distinct breed around 2008, with the Micro Bully being the latest addition.
This lineage of dogs is highly sought after due to their attractiveness, intelligence, and family-friendly nature. Similar to other designer-cross breeds like the Labradoodle and Cockapoo, blending the American Bully with the Patterdale Terrier allows for the preservation of familiar features while incorporating other desirable traits. Consequently, there is a growing interest in acquiring this remarkable hybrid, which offers the strongest and most compact version of a Bully dog currently available.
Know About A Bully Dog
A Bully dog, also referred to as a Bully Pit, Exotic, or Extreme Bully, originated in the 1980s in the United States and officially became a recognized breed in 2004. The term "Bully Dog" is a broad description encompassing various dogs characterized by a muscular and blocky appearance. This term includes dogs with "bull" in their names, such as the American Pitbull, French Bulldog, and the English Bulldog. Some believe that the American Bulldog, Old English Bulldog, and Staffordshire Bull Terrier contributed to the development of the American Bully breed.
Distinguishing between the different types of Exotic Bully breeds within the American Bully bloodlines can be perplexing. As this is a relatively recent breed with evolving standards, references to authorities like the American Bully Kennel Club can clarify the primary distinctions in breed types. It's crucial to recognize that Micro, Standard, Pocket, and XL Bullies essentially represent the same dog, differing only in height. In contrast, the Classic Bully is distinguished by its particular type.
The Size Of Classic Bully, Pocket, and Micro Bully Puppy
The Classic Bully is a bit smaller than the standard American Bully, standing 16-20" tall, and weighing less than 60 lbs.
Pocket Bullies, are 14-19" tall, with weight varying based on their muscular build. Retaining the strong qualities cherished by bully breed enthusiasts, these dogs are occasionally known as Pocket Pitbulls or Shorty Bullies.
The Micro Bully is a smaller category within Pocket Bullies, staying under 16" tall and weighing less than 50 lbs when fully grown. Despite their size, they have a sturdy and muscular build, inheriting traits from Exotic Bully breeds but in a more compact form.
These dogs are great for smaller homes or yards, fitting in well with families. They are often referred to as Miniature Pitbulls, but it's essential to distinguish them from the separate Pitbull and American Bully breeds.
The Cost Of A Micro Bully Puppy
The cost of a Micro Bully puppy depends on your plans for the dog. If you're getting one for breeding from a top-notch bloodline, it will be more expensive compared to a puppy intended as a family pet. It's crucial to buy from a trustworthy breeder to avoid getting a larger Bully falsely labeled as a Micro. For instance, Venom, a well-known Micro Exotic Bully in the United States, produces similar puppies that can begin at approximately $9,000.

Dog Pedigrees: What it Means and How to Get One
Pedigree, purebred, crossbreed, and mixed breed are all very common dog-related terms that, although meaning different things, get used interchangeably without a clear understanding of each one. For example, is a labradoodle a pedigree or a crossbreed? So, what is a ‘pedigree dog’, and does it matter if your furry companion isn’t one? Read on to get the answers to these questions and learn all about pedigree dogs.
What is a pedigree dog?
The general understanding of the term ‘pedigree dog’ is that this is a purebred dog recognized and registered by a Kennel Club so you will have a document from them that shows your dog’s ancestry going back several generations. This is their pedigree. However, having a record of parents and grandparents doesn’t mean that a dog is purebred. There are many examples of crossbreed dogs that have papers showing their parents’ Kennel Club pedigrees such as for instance, F1 Cockapoos or Labradoodles.
Having a pedigree means that the dog, along with their parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, etc were Purebred dogs officially registered with the Kennel Club, and you can trace their lineage (and any show titles they might have won) going back several generations. As many breeds have inherited health issues, being able to trace lines back can help you become more aware of your dog’s health situation and give more clues to any issues they might have inherited. A pedigree would be necessary if you want to show your dog in UK Kennel Club dog shows – including Crufts!
If you get your furry friend from a trusted breeder, they should be able to provide you with a pedigree certificate that shows your puppy’s family tree. Check this before you buy your puppy as if they don’t (and if not, why not?), it could possibly be a red flag that the dogs they are breeding might not be as purebred as they say! If you are 100% sure they have been registered with a Kennel Club (or you don't care whether they have or not), you can contact the Kennel Club and ask for the certificate yourself by submitting an application and paying a small fee.
Do purebred/pedigree dogs have any health problems?
All dogs can have health issues and there’s no guarantee that a pedigree dog will or won’t get sick – except for a few breeds whose health problems have become so severe that they are almost guaranteed. The advantage of buying a purebred dog however is that most known health problems can be tested for before the breeder decides to breed from their dogs and so the puppies will be less likely to develop them. If you are planning on buying a purebred puppy, do some research to see what health tests should be done – and make sure they are done and that you see proof of the results.
These conditions can affect bones/joints, eyes, skin, heart, teeth, and longevity – and this is one of the reasons you should always research not just your breed of choice but who you are getting a dog from and that they are responsible and ethical.
An advantage of buying a dog with a pedigree can be that they are being bred by responsible breeders who have the welfare of the breed at heart – rather than commercial breeders who have profit rather than health as their motivator, and so breed from less healthy and un-tested dogs – and possibly ones that aren’t purebred or registered. However, don’t rely on a pedigree to be a guarantee of health – a breeder doesn’t need to health test their dogs to get one!
Popular breeds are likelier to have increasing health problems due to bad breeding practices and this has become the case in several breeds, so it’s recommended to always make sure you’re contacting a trusted and reputable breeder when looking for a new dog.
How do I know if my dog is purebred?
There are three ways to get a good idea if your dog is a purebred or not. First of all, is to have a Kennel Club pedigree certificate from the breeder – this is an almost certain guarantee – although the unscrupulous can find a convincing way around most things and there are a few forgeries out there! You could get a DNA test for your pup – and a good company with a large database from the country you live in can tell you what breed your dog is – or what breeds are in their ancestry.
And lastly, you can compare your dog’s traits to those of their breed standard (and in countries where dog showing is popular but that don’t have a kennel club, this is often the way dogs are classified and accepted for shows).
Getting a pedigree from the Kennel Club is the quickest way but it relies on the dog being registered. There are plenty of purebred dogs who are never registered with the UK Kennel Club (or another kennel club around the world) so no pedigree doesn’t mean your dog isn’t purebred.
In this case, the DNA option is an easy way of finding out if your dog is a purebred or not. These tests are not 100% accurate (and sometimes breeds will appear in your dog’s DNA that you didn’t expect that are further back than would ever show up on a standard pedigree – so they are still classed as purebred) but they will show you the breed or breeds in your dog’s genetic make-up. This can be a fascinating exercise if you have a mixed breed dog as it can give you clues to your dog’s behavior and personality.
Comparing with the breed standard if much more about guesswork – as when you cross two or more breeds, the results can sometimes look or behave nothing like either parent!
Purebred dog breeds
In total, there are about 221 pedigree dog breeds registered with the Kennel Club and this number increases almost every year. Are you wondering if your dog qualifies as a purebred – or has their characteristics? Check out this list of the seven groups of dog breeds as classified by the Kennel Club and see if your pup matches any of the breed group’s traits.
1. Working
Working dogs were bred to do a specific job and so are the canine specialists. This job is often to guard, protect, or rescue, meaning that these are often the most heroic canines out there – although they generally need experienced owners who understand their need to have a job. They’re known for their intelligence, agility, and independence which is why many serve as police or military dogs. These dogs include Dobermanns, Boxers, and Siberian Huskies.
2. Pastoral
Like the name suggests, pastoral dogs will do a great job of herding livestock all day, every day, in all kinds of climates. They often have thick coats, lots of energy, need plenty of exercise and training, and love being around people – think of Border Collies, Samoyeds, and German Shepherd Dogs.
3. Gundog
Originally trained to work with hunters to find or retrieve game, dogs in the gundog category are all great companions for any prospective owner who enjoys the outdoor life and plenty of exercise. They can be loving and have a sweet temperament, along with a lot of energy and a big love for games of any kind, as long as they get to run around and spend time with people or other animals. If you haven’t already guessed it, they’re some of the world’s most popular breeds and include Labrador Retrievers, Spaniels, pointers, and setters.
4. Toy
These tiny canines make for great companions and the most perfect lap dogs. They’ll jump at any chance of attention and although toy breeds may be small, they can often be very protective. Toy breeds can become extremely devoted to their owners and want to follow them everywhere – to the point that many can’t be left alone. This group includes Chihuahuas, Maltese, and Bichons.
5. Hound
Hound dogs split into two types – scent hounds and sighthounds (depending on whether they hunt using their noses or their eyes). While affectionate and loving, hounds tend to look down on obedience, and their single-minded desire to chase something that is running or following a scent for hours is still very strong – so while they need plenty of exercise, many need to be kept on leads unless in a totally secure place. Rarely safe with cats (although some can live happily with ‘their own’) and small furries. Hounds include Beagles, Bloodhounds, Greyhounds, and Irish Wolfhounds.
6. Terrier
Enthusiastic about everything and as determined and courageous as they come, the terrier breed group were originally bred mostly as vermin hunters. This means that they are quick-thinking and quick-acting, brave, feisty, and have huge personalities despite their size. This group includes the Jack Russell, the West Highland White, and the Border Terrier.
7. Utility
This last category is a miscellaneous one that includes any other breeds that don’t quite fit the other groups – often because their job was so specialized, they are the only ones! Akitas, Chow Chows, Dalmatians, French bulldogs, and Poodles are all in this category.
What is the difference between pedigree dogs, crossbreed, and mixed-breed dogs?
A pedigree is simply a record of a dog registered by the Kennel Club that shows its ancestry and shows their breed is pure.
A crossbreed dog means that the puppy’s parents were of two different breeds. This has resulted in the popularity of what is often called ‘designer dogs’ - such as Cockapoos, Labradoodles, Cavachons etc.
A mixed breed dog has parents of different breeds – often mixed breeds themselves.
At the end of the day, however, having a pedigree doesn’t make your dog any better, any more loving, or any better behaved. It doesn’t make them a better companion or fit into your life any better. All dogs deserve a loving home and having a piece of paper showing who their ancestors were does not make them any more or less suitable to be your best friend.
The important thing is to make sure you’re picking the dog that best suits your lifestyle.

The National Dog Survey 2024: Insights into Dog Ownership Trends and Challenges in the UK
As guardians of canine well-being, dog owners in the UK play a vital role in shaping the lives of their pets. The National Dog Survey 2024, an initiative by Dogs Trust, has reached an all-time high in participation, highlighting evolving trends in dog ownership, emerging behavioral challenges, and the impact of economic pressures on pet care. The results from this extensive survey provide essential data to aid Dogs Trust in tailoring their support programs to the needs of dog owners across the UK.
Record-Breaking Participation in the 2024 Survey
The National Dog Survey 2024 attracted over 350,000 participants, a record-breaking number that underscores a growing interest in dog welfare and the eagerness of owners to voice their experiences. This increase in feedback, covering details of nearly 348,533 dogs, offers Dogs Trust a valuable, comprehensive view of the current dog ownership landscape.
Key Topics of the National Dog Survey 2024
The survey explored several essential themes concerning dog ownership in the UK, including:
Behavioral Challenges: Addressing common issues such as aggression, anxiety, and training difficulties.
Economic Impact: Examining how financial pressures influence spending on pet care.
Owner-Dog Relationship: Analyzing how the pandemic and lifestyle changes have affected the bond between dogs and owners.
Ownership Trends: Tracking shifts in popular dog breeds, acquisition rates, and demographics.
Behavioral Challenges in Dog Ownership
Common Behavioral Issues Faced by Dog Owners
The survey highlighted several behavioral issues commonly encountered by dog owners, including:
Excessive Barking and Chewing
Separation Anxiety
Inappropriate Elimination
Destructive Digging
These behaviors often stem from boredom, stress, or inadequate training. Understanding these challenges has allowed Dogs Trust to develop resources such as the Behaviour Support Line, a free service offering expert guidance to help owners manage and mitigate these behaviors.
Supporting New Owners in Addressing Behavior Problems
With a surge in new dog owners post-pandemic, training and socialization have emerged as critical areas of concern. The survey found that 37% of owners had acquired their dogs since 2020, many of whom are first-time pet owners unaccustomed to handling behavioral complexities. In response, Dogs Trust offers a range of educational resources and support programs to assist these owners.
Economic Pressures and Pet Care Spending
Rising Costs Impacting Dog Owners
The economic landscape has significantly influenced pet care in recent years, with 78% of survey participants reporting that financial strain has impacted their ability to care for their pets as they wish. The following areas are most affected:
Pet Food Choices: Many owners are switching to budget-friendly brands or buying in bulk to reduce costs.
Veterinary and Training Expenses: The survey revealed that 22% of dog owners have scaled back on these services due to financial constraints.
Adapting to Financial Challenges
In light of these economic challenges, Dogs Trust is exploring ways to offer affordable resources and guidance for dog owners. Initiatives like free behavioral support lines and cost-saving tips have been well-received by participants, reflecting the charity’s commitment to providing ongoing support to the dog-owning community.
Shifts in Dog Ownership Trends
Breed Preferences: Rising Popularity of Crossbreeds
According to the survey, part-breed dogs now make up 11% of the UK’s dog population, with cross breeds such as Cocker Spaniel/Poodle crosses (Cockapoos), Labradoodles, and Cavoodles gaining popularity. These breeds are celebrated for their temperaments, intelligence, and compatibility with family life, making them appealing to a broad spectrum of owners.
The Pandemic’s Influence on Dog Acquisition
The survey reports that the pandemic triggered a significant rise in pet ownership, with 36% of dog-owning households acquiring a dog within the past three years. While this trend indicates a positive interest in dog ownership, it has also posed new challenges in terms of behavior and socialization, as not all new owners were prepared for the responsibilities involved.
Age Trends in Dog Ownership
Data from the survey suggest that the pandemic led to an increase in younger dogs within UK households, as more families adopted puppies. This “pandemic puppy boom” highlights the need for support in early-stage dog training and care, areas that Dogs Trust addresses through specialized resources and educational initiatives.
Insights into Dogs Trust’s Support Programs
Behavior Support Line: Addressing Owner Concerns
A prominent feature of the Dogs Trust’s initiatives is the Behaviour Support Line, a free service designed to assist dog owners with behavioral challenges. Using the data gathered from the survey, Dogs Trust has tailored this program to address issues such as aggression, anxiety, and training difficulties, providing personalized support to ensure the well-being of both pets and their owners.
Impactful Programs for Improved Canine Welfare
Beyond behavior management, Dogs Trust is actively engaged in programs that support various aspects of dog welfare:
Educational Resources: Covering topics from socialization to obedience training, helping new and experienced dog owners alike.
Affordable Veterinary Support: Providing guidance to owners affected by financial hardship.
Advocacy for Responsible Ownership: Campaigning for policies that promote responsible dog ownership and care standards.
These programs have become integral in fostering a supportive environment for dog owners, helping them overcome challenges and strengthen the bond with their pets.
Conclusion
The National Dog Survey 2024 has painted a comprehensive picture of dog ownership in the UK, highlighting both the joys and challenges faced by owners. As the landscape of pet ownership continues to evolve, organizations like Dogs Trust play a crucial role in supporting owners through education, behavioral support, and financial guidance. By leveraging survey insights to shape their initiatives, Dogs Trust remains dedicated to enhancing the welfare of dogs and their owners, ensuring that every dog has the opportunity to lead a fulfilling, healthy life.

So Shelter Euthanasia rates have been going up the past few years, disappointingly reversing the trend in the 2010s, especially for dogs, and Gen Z are more likely to get an animal from a breeder over a shelter then millenials are
Beyond the numerical data I just wanna talk about some cultural trends I’ve noticed on social media, that reflect how people think about dogs and adoption
First, theres the obvious material comparison to get out of the way, more Gen Z live in apartments and don’t have room for a dog, especially big ones, the three most common breeds to appear in US mixed breeds ancestry are all big dogs, American Pit-bull Terriers, German Shepherds and Labs, combined with landlord rules against “Dangerous Breeds” and weight limits and it becomes convenient to buy a Yorkie or french bulldog ( or adopt a cat? )
Which brings us to Pit-bull hate, particularly, which seems like it’s on the rise. With pitbull hate becoming a racist dog whistle , and the rise of R/banpitbulls and R/Dogfree. then the UK , which previously banned American Pit-bull Terriers, banned “ XL American bullys” leading to more rounds of debate from people who had basically no experience with them talking about how hyper dangerous and aggressive and lethal and stupid and ugly Pit-bulls were and how only horrible people would ever want one
This Is the part where I point out that in a shelter context “ Pit-bull” is basically any medium or large dog with short fur and a large head, wether it be part Rottweiler, mastiff, boxer, chow chow etc whatever, discussion of actual breed characteristics have little relevance to predicting the behavior of mutts based on looks , and people are really bad at guessing a dogs ancestry
Golden retrievers are cool now I guess, used to be they and Labradors were the ultimate symbols of conformity to the Americana suburban dream with 2.5 kids and a white picket fence, but now every goth black-cat bi girl needs a Golden Retriever( blond? Friendly? White? Loyal? i didn’t understand this trend) Gamer boyfriend. Everyone is mocking the designer poodle mixes now, labradoodles and the like, as the ultimate symbol of the upper middle class suburban family, but this time mocking them as “ overpriced mutts”
Purebred fetishism is big again it seems, Tiktok likes the phrase “ Adopt or Shop Responsibly” , The dog nerds don’t talk about Puppy Mills at all, they only mention “ Backyard breeders” which is a vague term for any small scale breeder they don’t like, but particularly those that produce mixed breeds/designer dogs/dogs that don’t fit AKC standards or aren’t registered/ “ unrecognized” breeds, There are a-bunch of people convinced It is important to support “ Ethical Breeding” , but treat that as a synonym for AKC certified, the Organization that determined a Pekingese should look the way it does
Theres a hint of misogyny to it all also? Aimed at white millennial women for being dog lovers, the mockery of them and pit-bulls and poodle mixes, of cringy doggy moms with fur babies, the bestiality meme with racist undertones, the “ I can excuse racism but draw the line at animal cruelty” snippet from Community , the trend of joking about white women approaching scary dogs and eventually any big dangerous animal that was on TikTok awhile, just this hatred of hippiedom the left has now Ive mentioned before ,

Okay
Airport dream
So I’m in an airport heading home from Saudi, only it’s not like Doha airport it’s a bit different but I know that’s where it’s supposed to be
We come down in this big crane lift over a…. A pond in the middle of the airport, but it’s almost like a lake it’s so big, and there’s this landing that reaches out into the middle of the lake and branches off into different shops
My mum likes this clothes shop we go into while we’re waiting and we wander in but I’m a little wary for some reason
Warning; this dream will include…. A lot of random sexual assault because it just happens apparently it’s the only way my brain creates conflict in a dreamscape that or my family conflict
Anyway I’m wary because there’s some creepy guy who’s kind of been following us but hey maybe he’s just going to the same gate. He’s really disturbing me though and he does try to touch me as I go out and I immediately yell at him
But I want to rush out of there and mum quickly buys a nice dress and we go
My dad took the kids to another store, and surprised us with a puppy! A labradoodle to be specific, white and cute and fluffy, idk why but I expect it’s because my youngest sister asked for it. My little brother also somehow set loose a…. Turkey and I’m cross and scolding him for losing the cage, we have to find the cage
Because apparently it’s ours
And I lose my temper at him and smack his hand. I feel very bad for that even now, he cries and says he’s sorry and I feel terrible
I go to find the cage, and put the bird in
I also get the puppy to jump into a bag I’ve no idea why he’s so chill with it but he is
And I come back to my parents sitting in a restaurant-y area outside the pet shop, and I hug my little brother and apologise over and over. He’s feeling better by the end of it and we spend some time together
My dad then goes off with the kids and my mum and I are left alone, she then gets a mischievous look and bolts off suddenly, up over the bridge to the clothes shop she went to before and I run in after her
I didn’t describe it the first time very well, it’s a large circular room with some mirrors here and there and a fluffy carpet, and sparkly party dresses hanging on railings set into the wall
There’s doorways that lead to more rooms and I’m a little frightened because it feels… wrong, losing my mum in this dress shop labyrinth, I’m running through and calling her name and calling for her to come out, almost crying and she’s responding playfully. I then cry out that she needs to come back please I’m frightened and she does, because it really was getting Grecian there, this infinite clothes shop with these saleswomen who just stand there smilingly. I feel half certain it was the workshop of that witch from Sea of Monsters who turned Percy into a guinea pig
Mum’s dressed in a blue sparkly dress that I’d quite like so she says I can borrow it and we leave
We go back to that seating area, it’s in the main airport and it’s this very minimalist design; long dark wood table rows with wooden bar stools, and shorter tables as well round the edges of the area, where there’s seats built into the walls of this large wooden frame that extends up and over us quite high. Like a very modern coffee shop aesthetic I suppose, we can look out to the waterfall and lake through the frame since it’s got large square gaps
As we’re waiting I get harassed a bit, or we do, I’m immediately angry and defensive with these two sports dudebros coming up to us trying to touch me and my mum I threaten to film them and when it gets worse I immediately whack them in the face and tell them to get lost, take mum’s hand and we rush off because we should be with the kids and dad trying to get to the gate anyway
We start walking down to the gate as a family, we go down into this tunnel area you know like when a highway road dips down into a tunnel, and there’s lots of other people walking down too. I’m wary because I think those sports bros might be going the same way and I’m also worrying about losing bags
I’m a little bit behind the rest and they get into the elevator first, the lift that we arrived in, I think the tunnel goes underneath the big lake so we reached the lower floor of the lift
I take the lift myself and end up on a…. Disturbingly empty floor, the attendant who rushed me into the elevator tells me I can cut through here to get to the plane so I try to but I get attacked again by that creepy old guy from the first encounter
At this point I’m very triggered and very done and knock him out COLD, kicking punching and scratching my way through
It’s a bit of a blur honestly I was so terrified, and on this isolated horror car park looking floor as well. I cut through and make it back to the rest of the family Alhamdulilah and it’s a night flight so it’s dark outside
Now the next bit is so odd because I’m not sure if I fell asleep in the dream and dreamed it or it continued with this it feels like a continuation, and to be clear everything at this point shifts into a fairytale style of illustration, like.. like the illustration style of the unadoptables
But I think I found a little abandoned baby, a girl, or maybe I was just seeing her story in my mind
She’s abandoned and she must be taken in, yes that’s it and I have a house a very nice grand house on a precipice in the middle of a lake and she starts to grow up there, but I want a bigger home for her. It sort of looks like a slightly gothic style cottage on the outside, like Aunt Josephine’s house in A Series of Unfortunate Events only not black, the walls are brick yellow and the roof is a dark purple. Inside the walls are a dark turquoise and the furniture is dark purple and gothic as well, and there’s a fireplace and it’s really lovely, the little girl is now about 4 and I want her home to be bigger, so I call up an uncle. Somehow I have a rich English uncle who’s an engineer, or maybe he’s not related to me at all considering… you know… white. But I feel a kinship and I ask him if there’s any way we can expand it and I say money is no expense (I swear I’m a rich old maid or widow or something!!!) and he hems and haws and says well there is SOMETHING they could do; the way they got the cottage there in the first place
He starts to send in high pressure bursts of water into the lake to break down the rocky formations at the bottom so they can extend the landmass of the precipice, APPARENTLY THE ENTIRE COTTAGE AND PRECIPICE IS ENGINEERED AND COMMISSIONED BY ME THE FIRST TIME
I dive into the water to watch it happening and I’m in this crystal clear lake water, staring as they look on in a cave with a curved glass window
