Unbelievabulls is an English Bulldog breeder based in Ohio, breeding only the healthiest and rarest-colored English Bulldogs. American Soldiers owned and operated!
About Us:
We are very experienced, educated, dedicated, motivated, caring, loving, and protective about our English bulldogs. Our English bulldogs live in our house with us and they're an integral part of our family. We make sure to health test our bulldogs, DNA test for coat colors, and take them to the vet very regularly.  The first thing we want to discuss with potential owners, is the understanding of this breed and the ability to take care of our English bulldogs emotionally, financially, and providing a place inside of their home, not in a kennel, dog house outside, or garage as a living area. Second, we want to build a life- long relationship and educate our clients on their dogs and always be a method of advice or questions that may arise during their bulldogs life with them. Also, sending us pictures of your English bulldog puppy growing up, we care and want to know how they're doing, and to see them growing up as well.
In addition, we're more than happy to provide references on our care, quality, professionalism, and past experiences from our current clients that have already purchased puppies from us in the past.
Lastly, we want you to refer us and subscribe to our site and/or place yourself on our waiting list. This will help you to get to know us more and when we upload videos on English bulldog information and tips, you'll have the ability to view and learn more information.

Hey princex-prozac,
I had similar issue - only it was with a teacher in Jr high when I was writing actual scrapbook novellas with my only two classmates as readers. My mistake was that I wrote it in class (randomly whenever I feel like it). This was more than 30 years ago, mind you, there was no gadgets which I can secure my writings in.
The teacher did NOT catch me writing. He did, however, rummaged through my desk and found the scraps. He read some versions out loud in class, and I was *still* proud enough (most my classmates knew I loved writing and did not really give a reaction. Some was even crass enough (against the teacher) to tell him to "keep reading, sir! That sounds fun!"
So he retaliated by reporting me to the B1tch, the principal. She was the cussword personified. Just a day before, she had called a parent of another classmate to her office because she was wearing a too-short uniform skirt, and she'd actually yelled at the mother to the point where we, whose classrooms were across her office, could hear it.
The B1tch summoned me to her office that day, yelled at me for writing pr0n (it wasn't, nary even a kissing scene because back then I wrote mostly dialogues and had a hard time writing the narratives). Barked at me to call my "slut of a parent" and threatened that I would get suspended.
I called my mother, who was a secretary in a multinational bank. She arrived half an hour later, a little worried for me. I told her the B1tch called her a slut, which angered her.
My mother is someone who does not anger easily. She is not timid, just absolutely chill. At that time I could see her very light skin turned red, and she marched to the principal's office, did not even knock, slammed the door and stated, "I am [me]'s mother. Whatever the reason you called me a slut, say it right away so I can demand you to apologize to me and my daughter!"
Welp, the supposed-B1tch cowered like a bulldog facing a lion. She then meekly explained about the writing and my mother cut her off, "that is all?? My daughter likes to write FICTION. FANTASY stuff! WE her parents ENCOURAGED her to write! And YOU, the educator, actually FORBADE her to write! AND call ME a slut and took me away from my very important WORK for this nonsense! One more time you do this, you shall hear from my HUSBAND, and I can assure you he is NOT as nice as I am!"
Yeah, my dad was someone who detested authority figure with a passion. And he could be not nice in four languages: Indonesian, English, German, Dutch.
Yes, it sounded 'victorious' for me, but I was still traumatized. It took me a few years - with my besties' prompting - to write again. My besties went to the same Sr high, but had different homeroom, but still insisted I write. I love her so much for that.
How I would've loved to rub it to The B1tch's face that today I 100% actually write for a living. I write reports, but still require a lot of writing. I am actually able to buy a house and moved up from near homelessness thanks to my writing.
I would also love to yell at the B1tch and the teacher who ruined my writing that THEIR bullying was the one thing that gave me anxiety every time I have to submit my report.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to tell my bestie that her encouragement for me to keep writing was the one thing that kept me going. We drifted apart after high school (I went overseas, she went the other side of overseas). One day I will thank her.
I still write fictions, and I still am too traumatized to show them to IRL people. But I find AO3 as a wonderful place to just write and see that there are actual people who read my writings.
Maybe someday I'll find it in me to write something to show IRL people. But until that day comes, I'll just continue writing in AO3.
I personally would advise you to start writing in AO3 or any other apps where you can just jot down random ideas and thoughts. You're already writing when you make the ask above. Just have a go and keep at it. Here on tumblr, even.
Good luck. <3
Hi Niel,
You’ve been my favorite author since I read Neverwhere in 7th grade. Your stories still playback in my mind even now. Back then, I used to love writing, myself. I’d make time for it every day, and used it as a crucial outlet until my parents found my journals and humiliated me with them in a really traumatic shit-hitting-fan situation. Despite still feeling the urge to, I haven’t written once since then. Every time I try, the words scatter and the cloud of thought I used to be able to spin into threads of a story, vanishes. I miss writing so much. How does one recover from this? It’s been almost 20 years, is it too late? Is it even possible?
What your parents did was awful. It's hard enough writing with imaginary parents looking over your shoulders and judging you. I'd suggest trying to write small things for fun, and finding safe and nice people to share them with. See if the joy returns.

The English bulldog is a breed of dog originating in England. Its name comes from its resemblance to the English mastiff, which was once used to guard castles and manor houses. English Bulldog puppies are lovable, social and courageous.

Until recently, concern about Bulldog health has focused mainly on the their breathing problems. But other health problems in the breed are well-documented. Now, a new study from Finland confirms that Bulldogs suffer from serious orthopaedic disorders - including an abnormal gait, slipping kneecaps, spinal malformations, elbow dysplasia and severe hip dysplasia. The study, of 24 ostensibly-healthy young Bulldogs registered with the Finnish Kennel Club, found the prevalence of orthopaedic disease, particularly hip dysplasia, so high in the breed that "no healthy individuals exist".   All but one of the dogs had moderate or severe hip dysplasia.  Three-quarters had at least one malformed vertebra. Thirty-three percent had luxating patellas and almost half of the dogs in the study had elbow dysplasia. The orthopaedic abnormalities are linked to kennel club  breed standards which ask for a large head, a broad and heavy front end and lighter, narrow hips, all of which result in extra stresses on the dog's skeleton.
This reminds me of a post I read, years ago, by a bulldog breeder in Sweden, who was simultaneously sad and proud that they had “bred the ONLY English bulldog in Sweden with clear hips”.
So. Breathing issues, impaired thermoregulation, impaired eating and handling objects, face wrinkles that collect bacteria and fungus, an impaired skeleton from flat nose to corkscrew tail, a chest too heavy and hips too narrow to mate or give birth naturally, an inability to run, play or swim like normal dogs... maybe that’s what happens when you take this animal...
Tumblr media
...and genetically squash, alter and cut off pieces until it becomes this animal:
Tumblr media
You’ll notice, if you spend some time in the topic of exaggerated breeding of dogs, that bulldog, pug and other brachy owners, are the only pet owners you’ll ever meet, who regularly feel the need to prove their dogs are “functional”... and 9 times out of 10, it’s just a picture of a pug jumping over a log, or a bulldog trotting for a few meters.
And that’s their display of how their dogs are “just like any other”. It’s really sad.
Very good comment on the post:
“One of the most worrying points of our study actually was, that the owners of the dogs we studied, did not feel that their dogs were sick or poorly, which is alarming"
Which is precisely why I do not believe it when a bulldog fanatic tries to convince me the breed is ok, that they don't need to change, that it is entirely possible to have dogs with that phenotype that are completely healthy and functional.
I get a lot of slack when an owner tells me their dogs extreme underbite 'causes no issues', or their closed nostrils allow the dog to 'breathe just fine', or that their dogs 'cool off like any other dog' and I question that. Im told 'I know my dog better than you' or 'you're not in the breed' or 'you're not a vet'.
Well.....this isn't the first study we've seen, I believe, that suggests the owners of these dogs are often oblivious to the struggles their dogs endure, and that people who were sure they had healthy examples actually didn't. Excuse me if I continue to call bullshit on claims from owners and breeders of these dogs that 'they're fine'. The evidence we have suggests they can't be trusted in their perceptions.
So with the knowledge we have that these dogs suffer not only unacceptable levels of breathing abnormalities, that *all* of them suffer dental and thermoregulation difficulties as an inevitable side effect of having no muzzle, that damn near all of them have messed up hips, at least half have messed up elbows, the majority in at least one study had a spinal abnormality, and a good chunk had luxating patellas, *and* that most owners fail to identify the dog's struggles, *and* that not enough healthy individuals exist to fix these issues via selection and testing alone, *and* that most if not all of these problems exist because of *aesthetics*.......why the hell are people still breeding these dogs? Why is this still being normalised?
How much more evidence is needed that things must change? I really don't know what it is going to take for breeders to finally say 'well, this breed is basically screwed, and more dogs suffer than don't, and we can't fix it without changing the phenotype'. I really don't understand how much worse it needs to get or what its going to take for these people to put aside their aesthetic preference for the welfare of the dogs they're meant to love.
Because its *all for looks*. All of it. All these poor dogs hardships in life are caused because the narcissistic desires of the humans who breed and buy them can only love them if they look as far removed from a canine as possible.
I just don't get why we entertain this minority of people who insist on breeding animals like this for their own benefit - and they are a minority in the overall human population - and haven't outright said 'enough is enough'. If I wanted to breed horses with pancake flat faces for no other reason than I thought it looked awesome, even when I knew it would bring that animal unavoidable health and welfare issues, no-one would support me in that, everyone would think I'd gone nuts, or was the worst human being alive to even propose such a thing. But because these dogs have 'been around a while', its suddenly fine?
I don't guess I'll ever get it. The only hope for these dogs is legislation. Even if a few bulldog breeders are doing the right thing and breeding away from malocclusions, flat faces, and testing the hell out of their dogs (and I do accept that not all bulldog breeders are created equal)  it is, like in my breed, not enough of them to make any real difference to the breed overall. The changes needed are way bigger than that comparatively tiny handful of people can achieve, especially as most of them are shunned by the purists and their dogs called 'mutts'. The only way this breed has a hope is for people to take the breeding decisions out of the hands of the people who think all the above issues are an acceptable price to pay for an aesthetic they like.

can’t keep my (hands to myself) | sp
Title: can’t keep my (hands to myself)
Rated: T? (suggestive themes at the end)
Words: 3658
Pairing: Sweet Pea x reader
Summary: Prompt: You’re afraid you’ll lose me in big crowds so you hold my hand but now you hold my hand around like 5 people and I’m getting suspicious. AKA: five times Sweet Pea holds your hand and the one time you hold his first.
I don’t know what this is. It got angsty. I’m confused and have a fever. Let me know if you want a more coherent second part that would be more adult. Or if you want a series about characters being unable to keep their hands to themselves.
1.
The first time it happens you don’t think anything of it.
It’s the Serpents’ first day at Riverdale High and everything is tense, more so than usual. Fangs is abnormally jumpy and Sweet Pea is angrier than normal, restless and ready to pick a fight with anyone who so much as breathes in his direction, much to your chagrin. And things only get worse as the day goes on.
The hallways of Riverdale High are already crowded by the time the Serpents get there, swelling with a mixture of hostility and restless energy at the arrival of the Southside students. More than one fight breaks out before classes even begin, the Bulldogs taunting and the Serpents quick to strike back. Sweet Pea is the worst of them, easy to rile up and loyal to a fault. He’s right there, anytime someone even looks at one of the Serpents the wrong way, and you would roll your eyes if you weren’t mildly overwhelmed by the aggressive stares from the Northside students.
It’s worse than Southside High, if you’re being honest, because while Serpents and Ghoulies were always at each others’ throats there was always a kind of understanding between the groups. The Ghoulies had a space and the Serpents had there’s and most of the time everyone respected that. It would only cause bigger problems if people didn’t.
But the Serpents don’t have a place at Riverdale High, not yet, and that becomes apparent very early on between the hostile looks and whispered comments too loud to be unintentional. Everyone is a little on edge because of it, and that causes everyone to start forming smaller groups in some strange kind of buddy system.
Because your schedules are nearly identical, you end up with Sweet Pea. It should be fine. The two of you have been friends for a while now, you get along perfectly well, and while Sweet Pea is a hothead, he always means well.
And it wouldn’t be a problem except Sweet Pea somehow gets it in his head that he’s going to lose you in the crowded hallways. Sweet Pea is tall, at least a foot taller than you, and because of this, you spend the short walk to your first period English class with him glancing over his shoulder every five seconds to make sure you’re still there. It causes several near accidents and a brief altercation with some football jock before you manage to pull him away.
It continues like that for most of the day, you trailing slightly behind him and Sweet Pea constantly checking to make sure you hadn’t suddenly disappeared on him. The only difference is that by then people have learned to move around him.
It’s not until the two of you are headed for your history class in the afternoon that Sweet Pea becomes fed up with this arraignment. He huffs and reaches back to grab you by the hand, yanking you up against his side. “Keep up, Short Stuff. We don’t have all day.” While he sounds annoyed, you know him well enough to hear the teasing edge to his words.
You roll your eyes. “We can’t all be giraffes, Sweet Pea,” you snap back. You may be short, but that doesn’t make you incapable of taking care of yourself.
“Am I going to have to buy one of those child leashes for you?” He laces your fingers together, cocking his head to the side as he glances down at you, quirking a brow.
“Only if you want to lose your hand.”
Sweet Pea grins, fingers squeezing around yours. “Come on, Feisty.”
2.
The second time it happens, you still don’t think anything of it.
The Wyrm is as crowded as ever on a Friday night, packed to capacity with Serpents both young and old. The music is loud and some of the younger Serpents are already way beyond tipsy, much to your amusement. Usually, you’d be working the bar tonight with Toni, but somehow you both scored the night off, Hog Eye being unusually generous.
More likely is that Fangs and Sweet Pea bribed him, but if they did they haven’t said a word about it. Regardless, you plan to enjoy the night off. Everyone has been stressed in the weeks since the schools merged, and things have become more and more tense on the Southside, so it’s nice to see everyone finally relaxing for once.
You peer around the packed room, squinting to see a flash of bubble-gum pink against all the leather and dark hair, but the room is too dark to see much of anything at all. Huffing, you press up on your toes, looking instead for Sweet Pea’s towering frame, knowing that he’s infinitely easier to find than Toni.
At least hypothetically he should be. Your frown only deepens when you don’t see your mountain of a friend anywhere in the room, a frustrated groan building in your throat. It really shouldn’t be this difficult to spot Sweet Pea. He’s over six feet and is one of the tallest Serpents in the room. He shouldn’t be able to hide like this.
“Boo,” a low voice whispers in your ear, a pair of hands grabbing you by the shoulders. You yelp, about to swing at whoever’s grabbed you but a familiar, rough baritone chuckle reaches your ears first, his laughter vibrating through you both, and you roll your eyes in annoyance. Somehow, he always manages to find you first.
Sweet Pea squeezes your shoulders, big hands running down your arms to your elbows, palms warm against your bare skin. His touch is light and it tickles and if you lean into him it’s only because of the two shots you’ve already taken tonight.
You consider punching him anyway for scaring you, but the smile on his face when you turn around whisks the thought away.
He peers down at you, eyes crinkled at the corners from how wide his grin is, a lightness to his features that you don’t often get to see anymore. He looks absolutely elated, comfortable in his skin, and there’s no trace of the deep-set anger in his eyes that just won’t seem to wash away most days. It’s been awhile since you’ve seen him this open and happy. The last few weeks have been difficult for everyone, but especially for Sweet Pea.
He’s always been protective of the Serpents, of his family, and he’s done everything to put a target on his own back at Riverdale High in order to keep it off everyone else. You aren’t sure if he’s brave or reckless because of it, but you’ve always thought he was a little bit of both.
You think that that smile on his face might be the epitome of joy and chalk it up to the alcohol.
“Asshole,” you call him, rolling your eyes as his hands drop from your arms, “don’t scare me like that!”
His grin only widens at your irritated expression, expression impish, and a smile tugs at your own lips before you can stop it. “Come on.” His reaches for you easily, fingers tangling with yours as he gives you a little tug in the opposite direction you were previously looking. “Toni and Fangs are waiting.”
3.
The third time it really happens, you don’t notice. But Toni Does.
You’re used to Sweet Pea grabbing your hand and pulling you along behind him at this point. It’s just become second nature. Anytime you’re in a crowd, Sweet Pea will lace his fingers through yours, keeping you close to his side so you don’t get swept away. At Riverdale High. At the Whyte Wyrm. Down at the Quarry with the other Serpents milling around you. It’s nothing unusual at this point. It’s just how the two of you are.
So really, you just don’t notice when his fingers slip through yours when you’re at the Drive-In with Toni and Fangs.
The Drive-In is playing some eighties-night marathon that Fangs had begged you all to watch with him, something you were suckered into with his puppy-dog eyes. Toni fell for the eyes too, and either Sweet Pea was bribed or just decided he didn’t want to be alone on a Saturday night. Regardless, somehow you all ended up curled up in the bed of his pickup with a multitude of blankets and pillows for everyone to use.
When he reaches down and hoists you onto the truck with one hand, he doesn’t let go.
And that’s the end of it. Your hands should slip away from each other, but they don’t. And you don’t notice. You end up squeezed between Toni and Sweet Pea with your laced fingers resting on your lap, his thumb sweeping across the back of your hand. You lean into his side a little more than usual, the early March air still chilly, and his grip around you tightens just a fraction.
They stay linked like that until the credits of the first film begin to roll and Fangs gets restless, badgering Sweet Pea until the other by agrees to go on a quick snack run with him. Sweet Pea rolls his eyes and makes a snarky remark about Fangs eating his candy too quickly, and you and Toni both snicker, knowing how Sweet Pea has just as big of a sweet tooth as Fangs.
His hands slips from yours and your fingers go cold.
Toni smirks as soon as the boys disappear from sight, one brow quirked at you expectantly, expression mischievous. “So,” she drawls, playing with a piece of popcorn and trying to appear casual, “what’s going on between you and Sweet Pea?”
Rolling your eyes, you level her with a pointed look, but her smile only widens. “As I’ve told you, there’s nothing going on between me and Sweet Pea.” It’s a conversation you’ve had with her a million times before. No matter how much you deny that there’s anything between you and Sweet Pea, Toni just won’t seem to believe it.
Her smirk widens like she’s won. “Then why exactly were you two holding hands just now?”
Automatically, you go to respond, brows furrowing because you know exactly why Sweet Pea would hold your hand. Then you stop. Because you weren’t in a crowd of people this time. It was just Fangs and Toni and there was no reason for him to be keeping you close like that. There’s no way he could have lost you in a crowd.
You purse your lips, trying not to blush, and Toni snickers. The boys come back before you can say anything else and Sweet Pea settles down beside you once more, a bag of gummy worms in one hand. His side is pressed flush against yours and the heat of his body is something you’re suddenly all too aware of.
The next movie starts to play and Sweet Pea’s hand curls around yours.
4.
After that, you don’t stop noticing it.
Sweet Pea holds your hand more than you initially realized. It’s no longer just at school in between classes when the hallways are packed with students or just at the Wyrm on a crowded Friday night. No, somehow it’s extended to when he walks you home after your shift at the bar and movie nights on Fangs’ couch and under the booth while you’re at Pop’s with friends, all without you even realizing it.
It’s strange, how perfectly his hand fits into yours, how without realizing it you’ve begun to relax into his touch completely, unaware that you were searching for it until his hand was completely enveloping yours.
Toni and Fangs have both noticed it at this point, but neither have said anything since that night at the Drive-In and you aren’t sure quite what to make of that. They keep giving you these sly looks each time they catch you and Sweet Pea holding hands, and each time your face flushes, like you’re getting caught doing something wrong.
It’s gotten to the point where the two of you hold hands more often than not, and at this point you’re almost painfully aware of that fact. Sweet Pea will just grab your hand at times and it’s like you can’t breathe, or his thumb will brush against your thigh as you hold your clasped hands in your lap and it’ll leave a burning trail of heat along your skin, a shiver running down your spine. Every little touch makes you ache for something that you aren’t sure you want to put a name to.
But Sweet Pea doesn’t talk about it and neither do you and Toni and Fangs keep on grinning like they know something you don’t.
You’re inclined to think that maybe they do.
Sweet Pea sighs. “Why are we here so early again?” he complains, glancing down at you, an annoyed expression on his face. Despite his protests, his grip only tightens around your hand as he allows you to tug him through the school towards the auditorium, the musical bound to start in less than twenty minutes. He frowns at a group of parents who send the two of you disapproving looks. “Actually, why are we here at all?” he rephrases, keeping close to your side as the two of you step in line.
“To support Toni and Fangs,” you remind him breezily, trying not to smile. Despite his griping, Sweet Pea is nothing but talk. He can complain all he wants, but you both know he would be here with or without you. Sweet Pea cares about Toni and Fangs way too much to miss out on something so important to them.
He groans low in the back of his throat, way too close you your ear, and you try not to shiver. “I don’t like musicals.”
You roll your eyes. “Oh come on, Sweets.” You tug at his hand, absentmindedly playing with the rings on his fingers, ones you’ve become well-acquainted with since the two of you started doing whatever this is. Please, for me? is almost what you say next, but you swallow it back, not willing to go there. “It’ll be fun,” you say instead.
For a moment he simply stares down at you as you pause just outside of the theater, dark eyes locking with yours as you twist one of the rings around his finger, trying to ignore the way he inhales sharply at the small action.
His shoulders slacken and he shakes his head, grinning as you pull him into the dark auditorium.
5.
Things build and build until they don’t.
Midge Klump dies and Fangs is accused of murder and then Fangs is shot and all of Riverdale goes to hell. It all happens so quickly and yet not fast enough, everything in excruciating detail, yet you’re powerless to stop it. Everything is chaos. People are screaming. A gunshot rings in your ears. You’re lost in the shuffle of bodies swarming the streets.
An unfamiliar ache of fear erupts in your chest when you realize you’re alone. Your heart lurches, throat constricting in panic, and with wild eyes you look around the streets, hoping to catch a glimpse of another Serpent, a familiar face.
A familiar voice shouts your name and you whip around, the panic uncoiling in your chest as you see him. “Sweets,” you breathe back.
His wild gaze meets yours, eyes searching your own for something you’re not quite sure of, his hands hovering over your shoulders, clenching and unclenching like he doesn’t know where to touch you. Finally, he seems to find what he’s looking for. His arms snake around your frame, pulling you tight to his chest.
You grip him back just as tightly, hands fisting in his leather jacket as he buries his face against your hair. “I’ve got you, Baby,” he murmurs, voice almost swallowed by the screaming all around you. “I’ve got you.”
Somehow you end up back at the Wyrm in one of the bathrooms. You’re on the counter with Sweet Pea standing between your spread legs and there’s something electric between the two of you, but you’re shaking and he’s shaking and his fingers slip through yours like it’s natural, and at this point you think it must be. At this point you hold hands more often than you don’t. At this point you’ve realized you don’t want to let go. There’s blood on his hands and they stain yours as his fingers lace through them, anchoring the two of you together, and it’s enough.
You clean the blood off his hands with a wet cloth, fighting to keep your hands steady. You’re safe. He’s safe. But Fangs was shot and half of the Serpents are still missing and it feels like everything in this whole damn town is crumbling around you.
Releasing one of his hands as you wipe the blood clean, his fingers find yours in the dim light of the bathroom, gripping you so tight it almost hurts, but he needs this and you need it too. “Why do you do that?” you ask before you can stop yourself, but you can’t bring yourself to regret it.
His eyes snap from your connected hands to your face, his brows furrowing. “Do what?” he asks, low and deep and rough, more fragile than you’ve ever heard him before.
Silently, you wipe more blood off his hands. He releases you, every so often, allowing you to shift his hands in your grip to wipe the blood from his palm, from under his nails. Neither of you can stay away for long, something about the skin on skin contact making your chest settle.
“Hold my hand,” is what you finally say.
Sweet Pea opens his mouth but doesn’t answer for a long time, just watches as you dab at a split in his knuckles that reopened sometime during the night. His hands are still trembling, but neither of you mention it. There’s a lot you don’t talk about. Finally, he exhales, a quivering little thing, and leans forward to rest his forehead against yours. “I don’t wanna lose you,” he murmurs, fingers tightening around yours.
And somehow that’s enough.
+1.
Things have changed since Riot Night.
It’s been nearly three weeks and but it feels like several lifetimes apart. Fangs is alive. Jughead is alive. But you lost the Wyrm and you lost Sunnyside. And you think you lost a part of yourself that night too, while you and Sweet Pea were in that bathroom. And you know he lost pieces of himself too. Things changed. Maybe you got scared or maybe he did, or maybe it was both of you, but things changed.
You never realized how cold you were without him, how empty your hand feels without his fingers tangled up with yours, his rings cold against your skin. You’ve been reaching for him lately, without even noticing, hand searching for his, only he isn’t there.
He said he was afraid of losing you, but you think maybe you should’ve been the one who was scared. Sweet Pea has always been detached, brave and reckless and too proud to think he needs anyone until he’s already begun to lose them. And you? You’ve always just been too blind to see what’s right there until it’s gone.
But you and the rest of the Serpents build a new home by Sweetwater River, one made up of cheap tents and scavenged materials and a type of raw anger that makes the Serpents strong even though the Southside is gone. Only it doesn’t feel like home with Sweet Pea so close but still so far away.
He’s with Fangs and Jughead, the three of them smiling, big wide grins that make your heart squeeze in your chest. One of them was shot. One of them was beaten. And the third a broken boy barely put back together. You can still feel the blood on your skin and the ghost of his breath on your neck from that night, a whispered word of I’vegotyouI’vegotyouI’vegotyou and your chest aches. Sweet Pea’s eyes meet yours over Fangs’ head and something in his expression changes. There’s fear there, and loss, and something you don’t want to put a name too.
Something in you snaps and comes back together, a tide washing in.
I’vegotyouI’vegotyouI’vegotyou.
Jughead becomes Serpent King. They lost the Southside, but not their spirits, and Sweet Pea slides up beside you, arm pressing flush against yours and leaving a pleasant warmth rushing through you. You lean into him and it’s enough.
That night he hovers over you, breathing your name against your skin, mouth on your neck, your cheek, your chin, anywhere he can reach. Sweet Pea lets out a sound halfway between a gasp and a laugh against your throat, something soft and shaky—nervous—and you can’t help it when you keen, fingers quivering against his shoulders as his breath fans over your neck, warm against your skin. His hand curls around your bare hip and squeezes.
He doesn’t say it and neither do you, but your hand finds his for the first time in weeks, fingers knotting with his as he presses his weight against you, bare chest meeting yours. He whispers your name again, and it sends a chill through you, enough to make you shiver, but he only pulls you closer, until there’s no space left between you. His thumb bushes against you hip as you rocks against him, holding you steady, and his hand squeezes around yours.
Your bones hum.
You whisper his name back to him and he twitches above you, shuddering and groaning low in his throat before sighing as his forehead drops onto your shoulder. His one arm slips around your back as he pulls you into a soft embrace, breathing heavily. He hovers over you, letting you wrap herself around him, curling into his chest and burying yourself inside.

Would it be advisable for me to Buy An English Bulldog?
Tumblr media
Purchasing an English Bulldog isn't simply purchasing a doggy. While all young doggies require a speculation of time and cash, the bulldog can require a greater amount of both. A significant number of the qualities we love in bulldogs add to clinical issues. The bulldog's free and to some degree obstinate nature will probably make preparing more troublesome. In the event that you simply need a canine, then an English Bulldog isn't so much for you.
Protecting a canine from the pound could cost several hundred bucks for fixing or fixing and essential shots. There is little uncertainty you will adore your pup paying little heed to heritage; which will most likely be obscure. In this situation you have a canine with just a little speculation.
However, on the off chance that your heart is set on an English Bulldog, plan for a more drawn out and considerably more costly cycle. It means quite a bit to investigate raisers to make specific your future bulldog doesn't come from a little dog plant. Subsequent to finding a respectable reproducer, ideally generally near and dear, it is really smart to go on an outing to their area.
A nearby investigation of the reproducer's offices and a gander at both the female and male bulldogs is fundamental. It won't damage to audit the clinical records of the two canines that either are, or alternately are to be, the guardians of your bulldog. You will need to know how frequently the females are reared; each and every other year might be ideal. Obviously checking with different clients who have bought bulldogs from the reproducer is likewise a generally excellent thought. Click here English bulldogs
Rather than two or three hundred bucks, an English Bulldog will probably cost several thousand bucks. Costs for a thoroughbred English Bulldog can go from 1,000 bucks to above and beyond 3,000. Obviously the cost is just an initial investment. That is valid due to veterinary costs you could bring about.
Allow me to furnish you with the narrative of my ongoing English Bulldog. He initially had a medical procedure to eliminate lashes which were developing at him. Simultaneously he had delicate sense of taste a medical procedure to make it more straightforward for him to breath. All English Bulldogs are liable to breathing issues because of their actual design.
Later he had knee medical procedure and crisis eye a medical procedure for a ulcer. These clinical expenses ran into the large numbers. We paid 1,000 500 bucks for the canine and have near 5,000 bucks in his clinical costs.
Bulldogs frequently require unique eating regimens which implies you can't buy simply any nourishment for them. They likewise much of the time have skin and sensitivity issues. Indeed, even the best bulldog will require more consideration than the typical canine. For instance, their kinks must be cleaned consistently since they are dependent upon yeast diseases.
An English Bulldog is a faithful sidekick great with the two kids and grown-ups. They immediately become relatives and you will genuinely cherish your bulldog. Bulldogs don't by and large require a lot of activity. Playing with them for a couple of moments a few times each day is sufficient. Strolls are rarely excessively lengthy and most certainly not in blistering climate. Bulldogs make you, and every individual who sees them, grin.
In the event that you can give the consideration and time required, than an English Bulldog is most certainly for you. Be that as it may, assuming there are questions about your capacity to really focus on one, kindly consider another pet appropriately.

Biopunk, solarpunk and cyberpunk Ya Punk
Thanks for the ask!
Biopunk, solarpunk, Cyberpunk
Biopunk: What are your feelings about genetic engineering?
I think genetically engineered crops can help provide more food in areas with marginal farmland, and I think making our sources of food more drought and heat resistant is a good idea in the face of rising global temperatures. However, I do also think that we should pay respect to the complex systems we’re attempting to work with and test any new modifications we make for potential adverse effects that may not be foreseen in addition to making the information on these crops readily available to the people who will consume the products made with them. I’m less familiar with animals, but I think genetic engineering for them should probably be restricted to what’s necessary for their and our survival, since we’ve done them plenty of harm already in pursuit of aesthetics *cough cough* english bulldogs and pugs *cough cough*
Cyberpunk: If you could take down a single corporation and completely destroy it without harming the workers, which would you choose?
This is a hard one just because there are a lot that this should happen to. Nestle is up there, in some places they’ve privatized the commons in the form of water sources, forcing people to buy water from lakes and rivers they live near. The example that first comes to my mind is the Great lakes Basin in Michigan. Nestle began pumping more water from that aquifer to be sold all over the world when people in Flint still don’t have water safe for drinking and bathing. The other big one in my mind is Monsanto. They’re the makers of Round-up and have a patent on a strain of corn that can resist their herbicide. The patenting of living things is it’s own moral issue, but the portion I’m taking issue with here is economic. With that patent they can claim that a farmer has stolen their property if they find corn with that herbicide resistance in it. What this has done is force corn farmer’s to buy Monsanto seed, because even if they don’t buy it, and only save seed from their own farm they still might have Monsanto’s patented genetics in their crop because corn is wind-pollinated. With them and companies like them in existence you can’t even be entitled to the seeds of the plants you grew, and they need to go.
Solarpunk: Would you start a commune or collective? What would it look like?
Oh hell yeah I would. The looks of it are a bit harder to figure out, though. I think it would start out as a regular house or group of houses. Early on the biggest differences between this living space and others would probably be that we wouldn’t maintain a lawn, and would devote more space to gardens than most people would likely deem aesthetically pleasing. The gardens themselves would also be a little odd looking to a more conventional gardener because they would contain native species that aren’t normally cultivated for food anymore, like pawpaws and devil’s walking stick, in addition to plants they would consider weeds like Lamb’s quarter and dandelion. Eventually I would like the whole thing to be obscured by the foliage of a food forest with everything electric running on solar power with rainwater collection cisterns providing water. I’m personally vegetarian, but we would ideally keep animals like goats and chickens, creatures with very general diets, that I imagine some of us would eat and they would also provide milk and eggs in the mean time. As for the people in this place, pretty much anyone could come in so long as they didn’t have bad intentions. To avoid waste and excess cost we would probably have a lot of hand-me-down, patched up, and thrifted clothes. An important consideration for any commune that claims to be as inclusive as solarpunk culture requires would be how to make every thing as accessible as possible to people with disabilities. Things such as ramps into houses and other buildings, raised beds high enough and narrow enough to be reached completely from a wheelchair, teaching everyone at least a few important phrases in ASL, having Braille books available, rooms set aside as quiet spaces for if someone is overstimulated, and taking care to not expose anyone to allergens in their food. These are just the things I can think of off the top of my head, and more research would need to be done to make any design flexible enough to allow accommodations to be added later. Thist isn’t strictly part of the appearance, but I think it’s important to also mention that there would be several languages spoken there, and effort would be made to accommodate people whose first language isn’t English, and even people who don’t speak English. I could probably write a whole book about this, though, so I’m gonna stop it there

REVIEW
Dead Woman Crossing by J.R. Adler
Kimberly King #1
A new book, a great beginning to a new series, an interesting relatable main character to star in the series, an intriguing supporting cast of characters, and a new author making a delightful debut with more books for me to look forward to made this a wonderful way to spend the day!
What I liked: * Kimberly King: an intelligent woman at the top of her profession who made the choice to move from the NYPD to small town Oklahoma for a variety of reasons…mainly to have more time with her 16 month old daughter.
* Sam Walker: Sheriff and Kimberly’s boss. I have high hopes for him as the series progresses
* Dead Woman Crossing: small town with a big history
* Bearfield, Burns, Hill and Barb: co-workers of Kimberly’s that all sound intriguing – looking forward to hearing more about them as the series develops
* Emily: an interesting woman that may prove to be a good friend to Kimberly in the future
* The flashbacks Kimberly had related to her childhood, relationship with Jessica’s father and her last case in New York
* The police procedural aspects of the story
* The potential for romance in the future
* Finding out who the murderer was
 What I did not like:
* The callousness of the murderer and the questionable reason for the murder
* The fact that Kimberly’s mother was such a wimp
* Having to wait for book two to be ready to read
* That the last case Kimberly was on in NY was unsolved…wondering if perhaps it will be in the future
Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series? Yes
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC – This is my honest review.

   BLURB
She threw open the door, running to the crib. When she looked inside, she gasped. The world around her went silent. Inside, there was nothing but a small stuffed elephant. Where was her baby? When young, single mother Hannah is found murdered by the banks of a twisting Oklahoma creek, her one-year-old daughter sleeping in a stroller near her body, the small town of Dead Woman Crossing reels in horror. Detective Kimberley King, recently relocated from New York to Oklahoma, with her young daughter Jessica, can’t ignore the similarity of Hannah’s death to the case of Katie James, the woman that the town of Dead Woman Crossing is named after. Katie was murdered in front of her small daughter in 1905, on the banks of the same creek, and it seems that someone is drawing inspiration from the crime. Could this killer be a copycat? But as she interviews suspects, Kimberley is met with blank faces and closed lips. In a small town, people won’t talk and when she pursues a promising lead, her own family turn their back on her. Kimberley isn’t afraid to ask questions, but when she receives a threatening note, she realises that, as a single mother to a young daughter, she might be putting herself dangerously in the killer’s sights … A gripping, atmospheric crime thriller inspired by true events, about a town on the edge of collapse and a murder that shakes the community. Dead Woman Crossing is perfect for fans of Rachel Caine, Lisa Regan and Jane Harper.

Self-Editing: Guest Blogger Deana Birch bakes us a writing cake
Hello, my little bunnies and thank you Evie for handing over the reins of your brilliant blog to, moi, as Miss Piggy would say. And I say it with a toss of my non-curly and need-to-be colored locks.
In discussing the subject of my guest blog, Evie gave me one goal. Help Writers. And I want you all to know I am so, so, so about that. As is she. That’s why I love my Evie. I dipped into my relevant pool and came up with, dun dun dun…
Self-editing. Because I just edited the heck out of my next book.
No! Don’t leave. I know you hate it. It can be hard. It can be crushing to delete those 400 words that are the funniest part of you book. It can even make you cry or worse, avoid.
But let me tell you, bunnies, editing WILL make your book better. Editing will make your writing stronger. And editing will make your story viable.
“Ugh… but I don’t wanna.” Too flipping bad. You must. Sorry and totally not sorry. Writing your book is like cracking the eggs for your cake. It is mother flipping step one, bunnies. Step One. Editing is all the important steps you take to get that cake in the oven, bake, and then finally cool. Marketing is slicing it and choosing which plate to serve it on, which I won’t go into in this post.
Step One: You’ve cracked the eggs. Good start. Sadly, three eggs, no matter how you beat them, will not make a cake.
I really hope you like your story, because you will need to read it a lot. Over and over. And then six more times. So, before anyone lays eyes on your raw eggs, here are the big picture things I suggest:
 Look at your main characters
If they have their own POV, they need a proper arc. An internal flaw that they overcome and an external goal that they either succeed or fail at. This is the heart of every story. The hero’s journey. Write down where they start and where they end. If they are in the same place at the end with either, you will need to address that. Ideally, this should be done before you write the story, but I know there are a lot of pantsers out there and this is a good way to check yourself. If you want to reel in your wild happy pants one day and try outlining (DO IT!!!) read this book.
 Check your word count
Not just the overall word count that should fit in your genre, your word count in each chapter. Try and keep it as consistent as you can. This is one of those rules you can break once you know it’s a rule. Personally, I like my chapters around 2,500 until the last 25% of the book where I trim them down to less than 2000. If you are writing in multiple POVs, check the balance. In dual, my editor likes for me to aim at 50/50 but doesn’t slap my wrist (she would never do that, she is a walking godsend) unless it goes more than 60/40. If you have more than two POVs, ask yourself if you really, really, really need that one chapter from the villain’s perspective. Balance and revise as necessary.
Analyze the voice of the book and make it pop
This is the mood you are going for. Is it dark? Is it a RomCom? Do you want to pull at heartstrings? Go chapter by chapter and make sure that voice is in there.
Scrutinize the voice of your POVs
This is essential if you are writing more than one. They must be different. Their internal thoughts must reflect how they actually speak in dialogue. I like giving my characters a unique word that only they use, but a tick they have is also super effective here.
 Break down each chapter
I know, I’m sorry. I really am. This is a lot of work. But remember, we’re making a cake, not an omelet. In each chapter, whichever character’s POV it’s in, there must be a goal. It doesn’t have to be big. It can be as simple as putting laundry in the dryer. But along the way their goal is interrupted by ACTION and the character must deal with whatever roadblock comes along. Then, they think back to the goal and either complete it or not. I call this “turning left.” We’re chugging along, happy in our little plan and then BOOM, we have to turn left. I still want to get my laundry in the dryer, but my dog just puked on my shoes and I need to deal with that before I can do anything else. That’s not fiction by the way, it actually just happened to me. The struggle is real with an English Bulldog.
But I digress… Chapter action / goals is really important because having your hero sitting alone in a café reflecting on what has already happened is boring AF. #NotSorry The majority of audible groans I’ve made while reading occur when writers take me on long inner thought journeys. Side note to more than one POVers: Please don’t write the same scene from another POV. We’ve been there and done that. Forward Progress in the plot, always. Except for those roadblocks.
Please don’t hate me, but I’m going to ask you to:
evaluate the subject of your sentences
Three sentences in a row that start with “He” are going to bore your reader. Avoid repletion at all costs. Even in the same kind of subject. Two in a row is fine. Three in a row is snooze. I’m actually really sorry about this one, but it had to be said. The good news is you won’t do this in your next story. I promise.
That was a lot of work, I know. I just did it. But hopping along to progress! We’re almost ready to put our cake in the oven and then send a taste to our CP’s or beta readers. Don’t know what those are? Here’s a link about it when someone else was kind enough to let me monopolize their blog for my own musings on writing.
The big heavy lifting is done, now it’s time to make good use of the search function of whatever it is you wrote your brilliant book in.
Shall we talk about adverbs? I like adverbs and probably abuse “softly.” But they are part of our language so as writers we are allowed to use them. There was a big push to edit them all out of our manuscripts and I think the intention got lost in the panic. It’s how you use them that matters. Try and avoid them in your dialogue tags at all costs. I just read a snippet that was “…, he said honestly.” Does that mean the person usually lies? Now I’m doubting everything out of that character’s mouth. I like it when adverbs are used in a voicey way. For example: His ridiculously stupid dimples. That being said, search “ly” in your document and make sure if you’re using adverbs, it’s for extra punch and not lazy writing.
Side note: Avoiding adverbs can put you into a “gave” trap. I know because the word gave bundled me into its net for a long time. Let’s say you found the adverb, “quickly.” And you decide to replace it. It used to read: “quickly tapped” and you change it to “gave a quick tap.” I’m not saying you can’t do this, I’m saying don’t do it to ALL your adverbs.
This is my all-time favorite link for editing. I go back to it again and again.
Our cake is almost in the oven, we just need to handle our own personal crutch words. This is different for every writer and fortunately there is a brilliant web-site to identify them.
Pop your book baby in there and edit away, my bunnies.
Ahhhh…. The cake is ready to bake and cool. That gives us plenty of time to read our manuscript OUT LOUD. Yep. Remember how I said you better love your story? This is one of those times. Speaking the words you’ve written will help you catch your echoes, find those jokes that fall flat, spot the extra word that didn’t get deleted, and tighten your overall pacing. Doing this changed my life and my book.
There are many other things I could go on about, gerunds, filter words, or weird descriptions of body parts. But my work here is done.
 Let’s all eat cake! 🍰

  About deana:
Contemporary romance and erotica writer Deana Birch was named after her father’s first love, who just so happened not to be her mother. Born and raised in the Midwest, she made stops in Los Angeles and New York before settling in Europe where she lives with her own blueeyed Happily Ever After. Her days are spent teaching yoga, playing tennis, ruining her children’s French homework, cleaning up dog vomit, writing her next book, or reading someone else’s.
Her debut novel Faster, a Rock and Roll Romance, released June 26, 2018. She's a Mid-Western girl transplanted to Europe where she lives with her own happily-ever-after and two daughters.
 Note from Evie:
Check out my review of Faster to see why you absolutely must buy this awesome book!
Also, I'd just like to extend a big, huge thank you to Deana for agreeing to do a guest post and share a little bit of the massive wealth of knowledge she possesses! Although I'm hesitant to admit it, Ms. Birch is among my elite group of beta readers/CPs that I occasionally mention in my posts. (Don't you dare try and steal her away... she's spoken for!) She's a fellow RChat gal and, well, without her? I wouldn't be anywhere near where I am today. Heed this woman's brilliant advice and, beyond doubt, follow her for more! She's rife with insight that'll blow your hair off.
 Until next time,
E💕
